We visited the tavern Sunday 18 August. The food, service and atmosphere was lovely. Would recommend this place. Five stars all round

The service was very poor and the food was not tasty. I ordered pizza for my son, but it was very burnt and dry. My wife returned the food because it was overcooked. I am very disappointed and won't be returning to this Italian restaurant again.

We had a great lunch. I had the lunch special and my wife had the pate.

Great food! Great service! Took recommendation from Charlie about what to have, had the pappardelle al ragu (slow cooked shin of beef) - it was outstanding, then followed up with the apple crumble with custard. 10/10 will be back in the future.

There were 6 of us and a baby, very accommodating for the buggy, staff were very pleasant, we all ate from the set lunch menu which had a lovely choice, good value for £14, we weren't rushed so had a good catch up, would I go back absolutely I enjoyed the experience.

Really great pre Christmas atmosphere, staff were amazing, and food was excellent, thoroughly recommend!

Pizzas are pretty good and the staff are lovely. But anything beyond the pizzas was a disappointment. Either poorly put together and basic or like the Christmas turkey dinner a real let down with what seemed like Bernard Mathew's turkey roast (preformed meat) despite being the most expensive e thing o the menu. Considering the other options in Haddington I had higher expectations. If popping in for a drink and a pizza you won't go wrong.

Didn't have food, just a refreshing pint, which was one of the best pulled pints I have seen in a long time. Proper pub, which is a rare thing. I was just visiting the area, but I will be back. 🍺 !!

Brilliant local pub in Haddington. Great selection of beers on tap. Lovely, large beer garden out the back. Pizza's were delicious too. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. Definitely a wee gem in East Lothian.

Just had the starter cream of courgette, garlic and parsley soup which is very nice..nice and friendly staff.

Was in the dining area 3 weeks ago and the food was excellent and very reasonable priced. Five meals, four soft drinks and one IPA - cost was around £83; very reasonable these days. On Sunday, went to the bar to watch football. Place was empty, which was surprising, given it is a very clean and welcoming place. Got a taster before buying a beer, then had a few IPA - £5.50 a pint for the latter. Again; very reasonable given I paid £6.80 for same IPA in Edinburgh last week. Great service on both occasions and I will make a point of going back soon.

Don't go here if you are in a rush, since they are not very fast But it's worth the wait if you do

Arrived as a coach load and got served really quickly when we arrived. Black sheep on tap. Ashes cricket showing on two televisions in our bar. We didn't eat, so I can not comment on that. Toilets clean. It's a lovely place, and I really recommend it. Lost a service star as later there was only one staff on and I didn't get served when they were changing the barrel, which I accept happens, but I had a dry 15 minutes!

Visited as a group of 40 or so for a retirement celebration. Venue offers ideal combination of a cosy bar to meet up, then move through to restaurant for a meal. Bar and restaurant service, and food, couldn't be faulted. Recommended.

Visited at lunchtime and enjoyed the fixed price lunch menu. Had our dog so ate in the bar. Food was excellent, very good value, staff were friendly and welcoming. Look forward to a return visit.

Great food! Being Coeliac finding places to eat is sometimes difficult but here anything on the the main menu comes gluten free.

Went here for the first time for lunch with my wife and brother we had 3 course for £12.99. the food was all freshly cooked and delicious will definitely come back for another meal soon service and staff we're first class.👍😋

Gab place, one side is a great cosy pub and the other a great rustic Italian with delicious homestyle cooked food. Had a great night here, super service, well worth a visit

Food was lovely in a very relaxed atmosphere. Our co-diners and friends managed to book us into the wrong venue, there’s a cafe and a restaurant that are linked but in separate streets and when the error was discovered it was good of the restaurant to accommodate us for our meal as opposed to the cafe. It’s an easy mistake given the two premises share the same name. The food was lovely, and the prices are very reasonable.

I booked this as a birthday treat, and I hate to say I was somewhat disappointed. More so because of all the hype I had read about the restaurant. The food was okay, not great by any stretch of the imagination, and I could definitely do better in my own kitchen. That said, although they were short staffed, the service was excellent, relaxed and friendly. Would I go again? No... But if you can't be bothered cooking then it's passable. If you're looking for authentic Italian meals of a decent standard; give this one a miss.

Food was excellent and their lunch menu is such good value. We had our toddler with us and she was made to feel welcome, with them asking when we wanted her food brought out (straight away or with our mains) and provided a plastic cup and cutlery. She thoroughly enjoyed her tomato pasta (and we enjoyed the leftovers). This will be a regular of ours

We ordered Veg as well as Chicken pizzas. Both were very good. We specially liked the chicken topping one. We also liked the king prawn spaghetti very much. Ambience is very good and staffs very friendly.

Really enjoyed the ambience of the place, the staff were really welcoming and helpful - and the food was really tasty and looked presentable. Will definitely be going back soon. Plus there was a deal on that the staff unformed me and my friend about. Was 20 per cent off the whole meal, which was appreciated when coming to pay! I think it was a deal they were doing for a Tuesday night in October. Overall, 10 out of 10.....we will definitely be going back there.

Stopped by during the Haddington festival with a schnoodle in tow. Place was buzzing with a band and filled with friendly locals. Italian food was lovely and the staff could not have been more accommodating. Most definitely will visit again and strongly suggest you stop by if in Haddington.

Second time being here with my dad and I went for the chicken and mushroom pizza, as normal I asked for it boxed as I couldn't finish it. I think ordered a gingerbread cheesecake (first time I've tried a gingerbread cheesecake) Absolutely divine I loved it! I'd defo est it again The music when I was there was 40s to early 50s great atmosphere and great staff :)

Love this place! I am from Manchester but visit Haddington to see my partners family and we love coming here when we can. Staff are attentive, friendly and always make you feel welcome. Excellent value for money and exceptional food, an Italian food lovers dream. My kids (7, 4 year old) love it as any dish on the menu can be made into a child size portion. Nice selection of drinks for adults and a vibrant atmosphere for those wanting a conversation with their party, just the right level of background noise. Would highly recommend to anyone! I'll be back next time 😁

Came to visit from Edinburgh this Saturday - phoned and confirmed opening time of 11am. Were closed 🥺 stood outside at 11:15 - not explanation given over the phone why still closed? guess we shall go else where.

I did not visit this restaurant as it was closed, due to virus. I was walking past only. I hear good things about it and will be trying it once things get back to normal
