Turquoise Kitchen in North Hertfordshire

Absolutely blown away by the generosity of Mustafa. Today, I ordered a staff lunch to have with some of my colleagues. He was amazingly accommodating and we will definitely use again in the very near future. We ordered Chicken Shish, Chicken Beyti and Falafel meals. Everyone of us enjoyed our meals. Thank you 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Me and my girlfriend come a few times. I always have chicken shish and tastes delicious only complaint is the portion is a bit small We will come here again but more as a treat as isn't cheap then pay service charge 10% but can't fault the food The pic below is the chicken shish

A lovely spot for lunch. The service was excellent, food fresh, tasty and felt good for one's body and soul. The lunch deal ended with a Turkish coffee and shared baklava was perfect!

It's such a lovely place to eat. The staff were so friendly. I recommend this place to eat.

Best Turkish I’ve ever been. The food is absolutely delicious and the head chef is adorable. We always go for the Sarma Lamb Beyti for main - just order it, you will not be disappointed! It’s one of their specials.

They never delivered my food and never answered the phone, absolute worst customer service!! And not even had a refund!! Do not order a delivery from here

We love this place,we have few Turkish restaurants in Cambridge but we don't mind to drive to go there ,the food it's always delicious and staff very friendly .Always the restaurant it's busy which is really a good feeling and atmosphere. Keep up hard work

This is a really hard one to rate as the food here is amazing! Everything about turquoise kitchen is amazing BUT and it’s a big one, they close at 10!! We went last night for the fifth time and for the fifth time, I felt rushed which spoilt what was otherwise a lovely dining experience. We booked a table for 8 but from the minute we sat down, we were reminded that they close at 10. Throughout the meal, we were reminded that they close at 10. Then when we tried to order another bottle of wine at 9.20, we had to promise that we’d drink it by 10. The waiters were really lovely other than this and did explain that they all live in London so close early. By 9.40 they had pretty much closed the restaurant, in a Friday night and we watched as one by one most of the staff left. We left at 9.45 as felt pressured to go. What a shame! It would definitely put me off going for anything other than an early dinner, definitely not somewhere to relax, enjoy the amazing food and wine and atmosphere on a weekend!

Please... Please, have an extra virgin olive oil for the clients. ;)

Good quality food, large portions and helpful service. Maybe not the cheapest in Letchworth but it's still good value.

Hot meze. Every time! Soooo good

The food here was great. Generous but not overly generous portions that are tasty and well prepared. Everything was served hot and was fresh. Service felt a bit rushed but they were busy. Possibly as they seem to have a single rush hour which makes it very loud inside and also slows the service down while making the servers anxious. However the food was tasty/worth it and we were not rushed from our table and were made to feel welcome while we were there. Overall I’d recommend and happily go back but I’d go early in the evening or after about 1945 to avoid what appears to be a dinner rush.

The staff were amazing and so was the food. The chiken wings were so tasty. We spent a lot of money but there were leftovers and we took them back. It was a friend's birthday there and they handed him a slice of cake with a sparkler and gave the kids lollipops, and put a plate of turkish delight on our table for us to take. All this was free. They were very friendly and the food was amazing so I would highly recommend coming here.

Firs visit here for my husband and me. We just had mains as we had tickets to a show. I had vegetarian moussaka and he had lamb/chicken shish. Both were lovely dishes. Hubby said the meat was tender and very flavoursome. My moussaka was very under seasoned. The thing that brings the star rating down is the atmosphere and service. The kitchen it visible and run by 1 gentleman, the floor is clearly run by another gentleman (maybe brothers?) Kitchen man was incredibly loud and shouty - to the pont he looked and sounded like a bundle of anger and stress - all very distracting... as was the CONSTANT dinging of the bells to alert servers that food was ready for collection at the pass. If not collected in a timely fashion that poor bell was dinged with increasing violence. Meanwhile on the floor it was incredibly clear that the female staff were treated like sh*t. They were spoken to so abruptly and expected to jump to every curt command. It made for actually quite an uncomfortable atmosphere at times. Service felt very disorganised. It didn't appear that servers had specific sections and were just scurrying everywhere with a slight sense of panic. Food was tasty but it was not a relaxed enjoyable dining experience. I see many comments on service in other reviews.... maybe the owners should start to recognise the pattern?

Service was good , food average at best , Lamb shish with yoghurt , The lamb was semi tough , had very little flavour , no rice , instead the whole thing sat on a bed of chopped up pieces of bread , which were very soggy and quite horrible , just terrible , A waste of £60 between the two of us .

Should be a 4.5 out of 5 stars but will go with 5. Staff are super friendly and welcoming, food is amazing. Visited twice in space of a week, only complaint was the request I made during both visits was not communicated and ended up being ignored. Better communication between waiters and I would have no complaints! Worth the visit and we will be visiting again.

Lunch menu good value and the food quite tasty. Lots of gluten free. Unfortunately the service is a real let down. Was not greeted at the door or walked to a table, felt very rushed and even our plates were cleared away while we were still eating without even asking us if we were finished. Wouldn’t return, sorry.

Very friendly staff...the food was good. As a Caribbean person. Not everyone can satisfy my taste buds. But they've mastered it...will return with hubby.

Would rate zero stars if I could! They have very rude staff working at this establishment. Couldn't have a calming chat with my partner because the waiters would be hovering over us like they wanted to rush us with our meals. I also saw the way they would greet people coming in and there was no hospitability just coldness. There was a tall, heavy waiter in particular who rudely asked if we were ready to order when we had literally just sat down and opened the menus. Would never go there again. There are far better restaurants in the area with much better service!

Amazing friendly staff and Great food!!!

This is a gem! It’s unthinkable that such a great restaurant with tasty food would be tucked in a tiny town, but here it is. I always overeat, ordering more than I can eat. The staff are friendly and engaging. One time my colleagues forgot to pick me up for a business dinner but I was so happy they did because I walked to Turquoise Kitchen and pigged out! As if I hadn’t eaten enough, the waiter noticed I loved the Turkish Delights and brought me a handful.

I don't normally write negative reviews, however our experience here on 28/01/23 was ruined by a rude waiter. He was unhelpful and would not answer our questions on the meals we intended to order. His answers repeatedly were ....''read the menu it says everything there and make up your mind'' We will not go there again. Very rude. Poor customer service.

Probably one of the best restaurants in Letchworth. Great customer service and super tasty Turkish food. You can see me there quite often!

I've dined here once before on a Saturday night about 7 months ago, the food was delicious and the place was rammed. Popped in today for lunch, and it was a very different atmosphere. The place was empty!! And I don't know why?? The tinted windows do kinda make it look dark and possibly closed from the outside. But I was not disappointed by my visit at all .... We opted for their lunch menu, which is just £12.50 for 2 courses, so so reasonable. The food was amazing and the service was perfect. My only criticism would be that it was all served too quickly, I personally like a little break between courses which didn't happen. But if you were on your lunch break it would probably be ideal. If you are able to take advantage of their lunch time offer then you 100% should. And if not you should still make a booking one night. Highly recommend the Lamb Islim Kebab. I will be returning soon for sure

Really tasty food. Pleasant atmosphere and staff attentive. Recommend a visit. Review. Visited 5 th Feb again. Quality of food nice, but had a mixed shish, portions very small, and prices increasing. Also service charge now added. Not so good value as when it first opened sadly. Very friendly staff though and clean.

Double check your receipt/bill! Read another review accusing random things being added to the final bill so waited in anticipation and magically 2 desserts were added! Decor, service and vibes are good but unfortunately bland food.

The meat was nice but the chips where old, brown and quite oily. Looked like they'd been re fried. I asked the waiter for fresh chips as I wasn't happy he said that they where ok as he had some earlier that day and wouldn't accommodate me, very ignorant,poor service and obviously they don't value fresh food. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant as I don't trust that they know about food safety. There's a picture of the chips so you can see what i mean.

Food was fantastic a great place to eat and a reasonable price

Came here tonight for a meal out while visiting from Canada. The service was amazing and the food was delicious! I wasn't expecting much selection nor flavour as I am a vegetarian and usually options at restaurants are minimal for me. Turquoise Kitchen far exceeded my expectations. Will have to stop by again the next time I am in Letchworth!

Had the lunch menu. Very good value and excellent food.

First time visiting. Wasn't expecting a Turkish restaurant, but was pleasantly surprised by it! We went as a group, and all of us enjoyed our meals. Very filling. Very enjoyable. Will have to try a dessert next time.

Horrible we went today and the steak was well done and grey when we asked for medium rare Next the gave us a rare on which was too red and fleshy The people were looking at us very annoyed and fed up and it ruined all of our happy mood

We went for my 18th birthday, it was good service, quick and the food was delicious. I would recommend to anyone. I will definitely be returning soon.

Good menu options, quality food at good price served by polite staff

3rd visit this evening and sat a table 14, ordered mix kebab shish and lamb mosaka. The musaka was hot on the outside but cold in the middle, there was no cheque after dishes arrived at table. My wife is not the sort of person to complain. Had to wait at least 15 min to pay after asking for the bill, twice. I explained that I would pay for all food and said about the cold food, to a reply that we should of told the staff quite rudely, but if it took 15 min to pay how long would my wife have to wait for a fresh dish. Or micro waves a new one🤔

Quite a large restaurant with nice food. The beer came to the table in cans which was disappointing. Service was a bit hurried.

Food was ok but probably the most miserable portion of food I've ever had.The two chicken shish kebabs ordered had 4 tiny chunks on each. and a slither of pitta .Portions are getting too small here im afraid. Just not good value for money.

A very clean, attentive service and great menu. Food was well presented and timed well between starters and mains. The food tasted delicious. I liked the dessert menu range too. Well priced and great interior decor made the whole experience very enjoyable for my family. The only thing I would have liked and perhaps it’s different in the evening is to hear Turkish music being played in the background. I believe it was on but very quiet for my liking.

Food was ok but the waiters in there, most were unfriendly and wanted to rush us with our meal, constantly hovering around our table. It was an 8pm booking on a Saturday night, giving us two hours, well that was what I was told on the phone, we only had one course and they still would not leave us alone. I enjoyed my food but others in my party did not, none of us liked the atmosphere, we certainly will not be going back! The only reason you got 2 stars is because my food was good.

Went here for the first time in a party of 6. The staff were unfriendly and miserable looking. 5 of the meals arrived promptly, the other did not...no apology given. Meals were not checked back on. The waiter cleared each plate as it was finished, without worrying if others were still eating. He even hovered around the table waiting for the plates before they were done with. Felt rushed and uncomfortable. I would not recommend, and will not go back.

Fantastic I met my daughter first time we both been for an evening meal the service excellent food outstanding this truly is a gem of a place to eat .I had chicken shish with a proper salad lovely variety n rice cooked to perfection my daughter had a lamb dish with rice she loved it to. The desserts yum yum baklava and tiramisu you must try! ending with a tia Maria liquor coffee fabulous night loved it we will be back great atmosphere thank you guys!🙂👍

Visited May2022, semi-regular over the past few months, typically for corporate lunches. Food is good, with strong flavours and good portion sizes. Lunch menu is modestly short. Atmosphere at lunchtime is a little quiet, an evening meal would be a fairer test. Venue is all hard surfaces, so the acoustics are loud with lots of echo/reverb. Will remain a semi-regular.

As a vegetarian, I was a bit nervous about going here for dinner tonight - but I was so wrong: amazing food for the non-meat eater! (As well as for the carnivores so i am told). The service was exceptional from the moment we walked in. Our waiter was full of character and always on hand to help. I will be back - for sure. Really great addition to the Letchworth dining scene.

Nice place, good food and warm environment

I love it here, me and the partner have recently found this place, they are happy to seat us as walk-ins. Its always so busy and they are happy and quick yo be at your service. The lamb shish is my favourite. I Will always visit turquoise kitchen.

The restaurant was clean and nicely laid out. The staff were polite and accommodating, letting my cousin and I sit where we wanted to. The food was okay, although I did have to send the main course (Salmon) back, as it wasn't hot. The replacement came back piping hot and everything else was fine.

Terrible in every way. First course was burnt so we raised it to the waiters attention. He lost his temper and told us if we don't like it then leave. Never experienced such bad service. Will never go back or recomend. A restaurant of that size giving service like that in a town like Letchworth won't last long! We Went to the Grape Vine Turkish Restaurant after and had an excellent meal with excellent service.

Visited this evening to celebrate mine, my mothers and daughters birthdays along with mothers day. 1st time visit, absolutely amazing! Food was impeccable, the service was top tier our assigned waiter was so friendly and funny, and it was so quick! Got in just after 7 n by 8.10 we'd had starters, main, drinks and even had the rest put into a takeaway box 2 take home! Would recommend the platters! Absolutely gorgeous will definitely be coming again😍😋😋😋

Food tastes ok, but the meat portions are awfully small. Just three ice-cube sized pieces of meat per portion, it was the most miserable lamb Shish I’ve ever had. Service is slow, they give a smile but don’t actually care, been 3 times over 6 months, always the same, won’t bother again.

Lovely food, really enjoyed the meal. The start was very attentive, and looked after us throughout the evening.

Popped in for lunch, first visit. Excellent, ambience, staff, menu selection and most importantly food all great. Had a mixed wrap (not my usual choice), wrap was made in house and really good, hubby had chicken wings with salad and rice and I didn’t hear any complaints. Comfortably busy for a lunchtime. All in all a result

I did order for take away some garlic prawns but the sauce was off , we also had lamb ribs which was very hard to chew . My mousaka even if the potatoes inside were green was still nice . I was not happy with the food but the staff seems lovely.

First time here , booked a table for 6 .Arrived a bit early but table was ready and we were soon ordering drinks . Good selection of starters and mains . Also a good selectiin ofchildrens meals .All the food we ordered and we all had different choices was lovely . The kebab meat was perfectly tender in fact one of the nicest I have had . Will be making a rerurn visit soon.

The waiter came and asked us what we want to order; we start to tell him what we want and he let us to talk alone. Disappointed about the service, bad organization. They make you feel to take the plate and go.

This was my second visit to Turquoise, the food is amazing, the meat cooked to perfection, and the salad which normally gets left on my plate lol had a delicious dressing. Service was very good, and lovely atmosphere. Would be great to have some Turkish music playing in the background? Or even a Turkish live band, that would be great! 😊

I heard this was a good place to eat, so I was extremely disappointed with what we ordered. I think the chef had been to Iceland! The waiter was less than interested. I won't be returning.
