Turkish Stonebakers in Stratford-on-Avon

Having moved into the area recently & read the reviews for the Turkish Stonebakers, we booked a table here for 7.30pm tonight, we arrived 3min early, walked in & as some tables had reserved signes on them we stood at a central table with menus & waited to be shown to a table. We was seen by the chef & another member of staff, but neither bothered to acknowledge we were there. We stood waiting, feeling more & more uncomfortable, wondering if anyone was even going to come, which they never did. Feeling by this time very uncomfortable we decided to leave & look for somewhere else to eat. Such a shame as it doesn't take anytime at all to just say to a customer " we will be with you in just a minute" Very disappointing & rude.

A small cozy place but amazing staff and great quality food! Easily the yummier restaurant compared to places in Turkey itself which I have tried.

Wow, this food is super nice. Just picked up a takeaway of mixed grill and Qushbashily - Diced lamb with goats cheese and sucuk as extras. Absolutely delicious and the online ordering is very easy. The team there seem very nice and welcoming. Will definitely visit again.

Really very good Turkish restaurant. You should eat pide and lahmacun that are Turkish pizzas. We are very happy to find our food here :)

Loss of one star simply because room was cold, but then they had not long opened at lunchtime. Food was perfection. Staff superb.

My friend and I ate here yesterday, the food was fresh and full of flavour. So nice to try something new and different. I'd pay good money to get their recipe for their beef! Absolutely incredible couldn't fault it!

Food was okay. We waited for 30 minutes for our pide being serviced to us and the staff response was very rude when we chased them. They prioritized the take away orders and so we waited for half an hour to have our meal. No appetizers while waiting. Poor hospitality.

Tried for the first time today. Gave order for 3 lahmacun and one kıymalı pide. It was delicious. We will order again. Well done

Really good food and staff! Came with my family and ordered to much so we took it home because it was so good! I hope that we get to see more people in here soon because we will definitely be back

We had kebabs. Really tasty and fresh. Service is open and friendly. Didn't eat in, but it's an option. Not sure how busy it ever gets as an eat in option so can't comment on atmosphere but eating in was quiet on our visit while we waited but kitchen and take out was lively!

I had the mixed grill with Gobit bread and my wife had the chicken shish takeaway. It was delicious. Really well cooked and succulent meats. Staff were friendly and was reasonably priced. Will visit again!

This place's Lahmacun is top quality, just like Türkiye's food. Staff are all friendly , come here!! So hospitable and great :-) and it's homemade and authentic.

This is a little hidden gem. Exceptionally tasty food in a delightful establishment.

We were meeting friend at the local national trust site and needed somewhere for dinner afterwards. This establishment is a lovely little hidden gem. The food was tremendous. Incredibly tasty and filling! The staff were also excellent in accommodating us as we had young children. I cannot fault, absolutely brilliant! Thank you

This is a wonderful restaurant for tasty, authentic, freshly-cooked delicious Turkish food. The service is warm and friendly, the ambience relaxing too. We ordered main courses Chicken Shish and Mixed Grill, both beautifully cooked, served with soft rice, mixed salad with sour cream, stone bread pitta and certainly generous portions. We have also ordered the Pide as takeaway which is truly delicious, so much flavour and great value! I would highly recommend this restaurant, well worth a trip out, a nostalgic taste of Turkey!

Lovely place, superb food and very reasonably priced. We ordered mixed grill with extra salad instead of rice, was about £19. Pide with chicken was excellent too. We also tried the aubergine creme with sesame flatbread which tasted like it was made on the spot, very fresh and crunchy. We will come again, definitely recommend.

Pides and kebabs absolutely delicious here - so far beyond what you might expect to find in the locale.

We stopped off in Wellesbourne for lunch on our way to Charlecote Park. Although the restaurant was completely empty (we were late arriving - it was gone 130pm) I'd read good reviews and we walked in to a friendly welcome. Their lamb shish was delicious, as was the accompanying salad and rice. My partner had the mixed grill - there was no way I could have managed to eat all that, but I did taste his chicken shish (lovely flavour, again) and the chicken doner was also excellent. We promised to return to try their specialty pides

I went for a takeaway here and the staff were really nice and friendly. The restaurant was very clean and I really liked the decor. The food was really good and decently priced although it was just little bit too salty, but overall the food was really nice. As we were waiting, you could see how they were prepping the food and clearly they have very high hygienic standards. I would definitely come here again and next time have a sit down meal.

Never fails to impress and I think you just keep getting better every time

We had two takeaway pides. One with beef and peppers and the other with spinach and leek. Both were delicious. Highly recommended.

Everything is super delicious. the restaurant is cosy and very clean. If you want to try Turkish cuisine, this place can be the one of the best options.

Best Turkish food ever had in UK

We were warmly greeted by a member of staff. He explained the menu and was really helpful as we decided what to have. The food came out after a little wait but he did keep letting us know that it would be much longer. The food was delicious! Two of us had the mixed grill while the other had the chicken shish. This is an unlicensed place so we were able to bring our own wine to drink. The decoration is authentic turkish and the oven is very impressive. It is very minimalistic inside but don’t let that out you off. The food and service more than make up for the dressing of the room. This is a great place to go for a relaxing meal with great food.

Weekday evening meal, popped in short notice, table for 2. The service was friendly and attentive, the food was excellent, menu perhaps should be extended so include everything they sell. My wife had chicken shish with rice and salad and stonebread pitta. This was excellent but was one of the items not on menu. We were offered the items on menu at the table so not a major issue however would prefer to see what’s on offer on the menu. I had stone bread with lamb chunks, very nice, probably could have done with some chilli oil on the tables. The atmosphere was good and would go again, this establishment has no alcohol license, they were happy for me to bring drink with me, shop that sells it is less then 50m away. Very reasonable price and they Calik was very very good. I would finally say that when you pay by card you have option to tip, they have it set up to show 15% plus i think 20% and also custom. I would suggest they have 10% and maybe 12.%. They did not actually bring me a bill just a card machine with an amount which is very odd and probably illegal but they looked quite a new place so maybe just settling in and quite happy not wasting paper but should have someone to check the bill. Was reason for 4 not 5 stars.

Completely unexpected. Honestly the best, most authentic pide I’ve ever had, and I’ve had my fair share all over the world. Fresh ingredients, did not expect to find this in a small rural village. Highly recommend.

I’ve eaten here many times, both eating in and takeaway, and the food is always outstanding. Great veggie options, have tried probably half the menu now, all fantastic. Well worth a visit!

Working in the Wellesbourne area my friend recommended we try this place it has indeed got a fantastic reputation and I Held High Hopes for the quality of food and service that had been talked about for quite some time now. On arrival there were a few tables already taken but we were seated quickly by the two man band running the operation orders were taken menus explained in a very friendly and helpful way totally different to your average pizza shop although this being what they kind of offer a Turkish version of a pizza wood fire stone baked fresh to order. The hype was definitely worth it my friend had the garlic sausage and mushroom which made me very jealous I had a slow cooked beef pizza which was insanely good my only complaint I should have ordered two however this is just because I'm greedy the portion size is just right with nice dips and fresh salads for side orders you can take your own alcohol and the Turkish coffee is a really nice way to finish off although I would warn you.... if you've never had Turkish coffee before don't drink it all the way to the bottom 🤣 All in all with highly recommend great quality of food service and plenty of people coming in for takeaways I can see why these places being here for a while now and hope that it continues to do as well as it is

I went here when first opening, when the menu was just Pides and was slightly underwhelmed. The menu has now been extended a little and the lamb kebab with pitta and Tzatziki is lovely. More on the menu please 👍

The meat on the pita was very nice, like roasted meat. Also, especially the lahmacun dough was amazing, it was crispy and it was obvious that it was lahmacun. Thank you very much again, I think this place deserves more comments and customers ☺️

One good experience of Turkish pide

Lahmacun and pides made in a traditional wood fire oven are excellent - even better than many you can find in the best restaurants in Turkey. The restaurant is pristine and airy with a contemporary decoration. A rare gem in the UK.

Fresh delicious pizza, the free salad should totally be charged for it is the best salad I’ve ever had and we travel a lot and tried a lot. The pizza was balanced so well. The service was next to non! 5 star wish I could this place more stars. We live in Birmingham and will be coming back for this pizza!

I visited the restaurant for the first time and having the love of turkish food I can tell you that you will not be disappointed at all. It reminded me of my trip to Turkey with delicious turkish meals. The food came freshly prepared with an amazing salad. The cheese and meat was delicious along with fresh bread. I will be definitely visiting again.

Honestly, it's the best Etli Pide (Turkish Pizza) I have ever had in the UK. The salad is also incredible too. You'd never think for one moment that a tiny place like Wellesbourne would have such an incredible restaurant on their doorstep. It's going to be hard to beat this place, and I've been to many Turkish restaurants. Highly recommend "Minced pita" (minced) and the feta cheese and leek pita. (Please see photos) It was truly wonderful, delicious, and everything was so beautiful. You can open more restaurants. I haven't had such a good pita in a long time. Thank you. We will come again.

Wonderful smiley service and great food - I had the roast vegetable pide (better than pizza!) and it came automatically with a delicious salad. Also, loved the unusual taste of the fermented carrot juice.

Wonderful Turkish Pide - we tried the Fenugreek Chicken and Roasted Vegetable. Both were excellent. Salad was really delicious. Babagannus and Turkish Salsa amazing. What a brilliant restaurant and take away service. (We used the takeaway service which was very easy to do)

First time we've ordered from this restaurant but the food was so delicious. We had a minced lamb pide and a beef one with a large pot of tzatziki. The lamb was delicious but wow the beef was on another level, so tasty 😋 We will definitely be back and soon !

I randomly stumbled upon this place whilst working in the area for a short period. Very limited menu and all items are pizza style breads oven baked with a variety of Turkish style toppings. Dips available too and I was also presented with a tasty...

Incredible fresh tasty food, we ordered a selection of pides (a Turkish pizza) and meze. Everything was freshly made and absolutely delicious. The staff were attentive and accommodating (we had our small children with us) and the meal was perfect! A gem of a restaurant...

Turned up with an infant. Asked if babies were allowed. Front desk said they were not. Restaurant was empty. Noticed a baby chair to one side. Pointed to the baby chair and said you have a chair for a baby. They still refused us. No idea if the food is good but the service was terrible. Edit after response. Happy to accept mistakes were made. We were tired after a long day out and 1 star is probably too harsh. I'll change the review to 3 stars, and will visit again in the future for a better review

We are staying at the Mercue close by and stopped off for lunch at Turkish Stonebakers. We saw this place day before when driving past and it looked interesting. It was a Sunday and we didn't book but turned up at 1pm and was greeted...

Just had my 2nd pide. Extremely yummy! Tad greasy but the flavours were amazing. Friendly inside the restaurant. Looking forward to eating inside the restaurant! Pierre

Disappointing experience, thought it was a restaurant. We had booked a table and when we arrived and said we had booked a table the young girl looked at me and didn't speak, just pointed to 2 sheets of paper on a table. I had to ask another man who was sitting there. I felt I was sitting in a takeaway , basic tables and chairs, no offer of rice, limited menu and was given a small bowl of salad between 2 of us .

I wasn't sure what to expect from the Turkish Stonebakers as I usually eat meat however we were blown away by the quality of the food (beef pizza & spinach feta) ...unusually simple, non fussy menu. Incredibly tasty and I mean gourmet level. As good as some of the top pizzarias in New York (if not better) and all in Wellesbourne. I would go back just for the salad! Jared

This is the best lahmacun I've eaten in the UK before. The dough is so crunchy and delicious. You can find vegetarian options too. The salad is really good, rich with plenty of vegetables.

Absolutely gorgeous food, fantastic clean decor and real authentic Turkish lahmacun and pide cooked in a proper wood burning oven. Gem of a restaurant, wish we had found it sooner! Not to mention lovely friendly staff. Please start making Turkish Tea though because everything else is perfect ❤️❤️❤️
