Takeaway only, excellent good and service. Had chicken, roast pork fried rice which is my go to Chinese meal. Definitely one of the best

Me and my boyfriend went in to use the restroom as we had walked from the other side of skipton and desperately needed the toilet. As we were leaving the two owners blocked my boyfriend in and wouldn’t let him leave. The man who worked there started attacking my boyfriend and tried hitting me as well as pulling my hair as i was pushing him away from my boyfriend. We called the police as they wouldn’t let us leave as soon as we did they moved out the way to let us out as they knew they were in the wrong not us.

I went to use the restroom in this restaurant came out and was attacked by the two owners of this establishment and was hit several times by the man who owns it with his wife absolute disgrace

Looks like the restaurant is closed but we were after a takeaway so it wasn't an issue for us. The food and service were excellent.

We had a take away from here while on holiday. It was absolutely delicious, would definitely recommend! Also very accommodating with providing lots of gluten free options.

We order from here sometimes and we love the food from here. Their noodles are amazing and tastes really fresh. The lady on phone is so Cheerful and polite, and the customer service is so good. Loved everything we've tried from here so far.

Used Tung Po for delivery and collection for years. Love the food the service the quality. Aways good. Tonight missing item from delivery (veg spring rolls) called Tung Po they were so apologetic and personally drove up and droped of straight away. It's not the consistency and quality that makes them stand out, it's the customer service and willingness to go the extra mile. Thank you!

Seen loads of poor reviews of the Tung PO but have used it a lot for takeaway and never had any problems. Large portions, hot tasty food every time

After avoiding this takeaway for a couple of years as my last dish was awful we decided we would try again , wish we hadn’t ! I ordered deep fried king prawns in sweet chilli sauce , well it was deep fried king prawns in sweet syrup ! Really far too sweet , the salt and pepper chips I ordered were basically chips with one tiny slice of onion . Not impressed , didn’t enjoy it at all and won’t be using them again . It’s a massive shame as the Tung Po used to be excellent

Always go to Tung Po for a chinese takeaway. Friendly staff and delicious food. Can't fault and will keep on coming back!

This was on of the worst take aways that I have had. The egg fried rice was ok. The rest was dismal. I honestly could not recommend this establishment.

Apparently this is an acceptable Special Chow mein. No water chestnuts no bamboo shoots no bean sprouts. One piece of pork, one small piece of broccoli and some onions. Absolute rip off. Basically got Batchelors super noodles and uncle bens fried rice 😠 Bought this with half a crispy duck and got it delivered. Cost us £27.30. Rang up to complain but she put the phone down.

Really disappointed. Rice was bland and curry lacking any flavour or spice. We were hungry so filled a hole but not anything like I expected

Wow! Spicy beef and black bean was best I've ever had ditto the Singapore rice. My daughters loved the noodles and my partner rated the chow mein. Definitely the best in Skipton

This was our second visit to this great restaurant, excellent service and food, we will definitely be back.

Over the years we have boughtlots of chineese food from Tung Po and it has always been good however they seem to have lost their way and the food now isnt up to its normal standard. At the moment there are better chinesse shops in Skipton

Fui con mi familia a comer aquí después al funeral de un familiar triste. La comida china aquí es siempre excelente. El ganado toneladas son las mejores que he probado. Los langostinos con fideos crujientes limón fantástico. Vino agradable ir con con un servicio amable.

Pedimos nuestra comida para llevar y no nos decepcionó. Dos de nosotros pedimos una bolsa de patatas fritas cada uno. . (1 fed 3) así que terminamos tomando una bolsa de casa para mi marido. La comida era muy sabrosa. Teníamos un pollo chow mein, rollitos de primavera, sopa de pollo y maíz y patatas fritas y buñuelos de banana para terminar. Sin duda, volveremos.

No volveré a este restaurante. El primer plato era genial, pero luego nos dieron los platos principales fue cuesta abajo desde allí. Estaba lejos de ser de pollo y mi atay socios 'curry' tenía una piel en la parte superior como acababa de venir del microondas. Las bebidas son de 3 libras. 50 pero están echaron de un £1 botella que era plana. Después de quejarnos el miembro del personal no estaba dispuesto a sacar dinero de nuestra cuenta. (finalmente sostuvieron pero aún así me cobraron mucho por algo que no nos gusta) El suelo estaba sucio también el tanque. La habitación era absolutamente helada, pero había un tapón de radiador, que no tenía ningún efecto. Ahora estoy totalmente de entender porque la única gente comiendo. Imagen de los principales campos que dejamos que el camarero añadido intentó argumentar que tuvimos que pagar por ellos, porque habíamos comido.

Probado este lugar por primera vez. Normalmente no excesivamente entusiasta en China pero un amigo estaba de visita así que pensé que le daría a Tung Po. Quedé muy impresionada! La sal y la pimienta patatas fritas como se merecen una mención especial fueron fantásticos. Sólo nos dieron entrega y era rápido y eficiente, sin duda prueba otra vez y quizás comer en la próxima vez

You lovers of eating out at a lovely restaurant- where were you last Saturday?? We had the Tung Po to ourselves! Actually that's not quite true. There was a fairly constant stream of people collecting pre-ordered takeaways but it would have been nice to share the space with a few extra bodies. Having said that, we did enjoy the undivided attention of the really pleasant staff, the complementary prawn crackers, the lovely freshly cooked food served at an efficient but unhurried pace, the fact that we carried on chatting long after finishing our meal and nobody gave us the hint that we should leave....hmmm. You know what: for selfish reasons, you can all stay away, not knowing what you're missing! ps. we were pretty impressed when the bill came. Great value.

On arrival I was shocked by the emptiness of the restaurant after ordering from phone this seriously worried me and my civil partner (Philipé). Philipé was visiting from Portugal and grew up on the streets of Lisburn and had one pair of shoes which were Nike flip flops so the ability to ring and pick up from a take away shocked my continental visiting civil partner. People doubted our civil partnership (Philipé and I) as people think he is a gold digger and loves my money as I am a successful manager of a pitch and putt location and a referee of lacrosse around my locality. Now the food, lemon chicken- too citrusy and quite bitter was expecting it to be lemon flavoured. I ordered the special fried rice and as a keen fitness freak, they had unhealthily cooked the rice (I felt that the rice was fried) and I felt cheated on a day which was not cheat day. (Sunday's are my usual cheat days). There was no pizza or pasta or burgers or fish and chips on the menu. Disappointed.

Visited here by chance for a meal and thoroughly enjoyed the set meal for two. It was very tasty and for the price there was plenty of food. Much enjoyed the ambience as well. Would certainly recommend the restaurant.

A small restaurant on the edge of Skipton with an excellent menu, superb food at reasonable prices and very friendly and helpful staff. Well worth a visit.

Thought it looked familiar having visited many years ago. If you ignore the vinyl table coverings and concentrate on the food you'll be pleasantly surprised. The salt & pepper squid to start was fantastic. The mains of king prawn hoisin & chilli chicken (tho' beef ordered) were delicious. Friendly staff and tasty food.

First visit on Sunday night but extremely happy with the food. Ten times better than our old take away place. So tasty and great portion sizes - will be using regularly

Have visited this restaurant many times. Since it has changed hands we have always had a very warm welcome. The food is of a good standard, proportions generous and the service excellent. We know the new owners are doing a great job, and look forward to them revamping the decor ans facilities.No doubt we will be back next weekend.

Out for a drive and noticed this on the way into Skipton, called spuriously on the way back home and ordered BBQ Pork Fried Rice which they cooked promptly and they kindly gave plastics forks so we could eat in the car! The food was delicious and the service friendly and efficient. Would call again.

Went for a takeaway a couple of nights ago,got the special fried rice,prawn crackers and a couple of spring rolls. Well,no problem with the spring rolls they tasted ok,but the special fried rice was dry and had a funny smell to the pork,as i dont eat pork anyway i put these pieces to one side off my plate,i shared the fried rice with my Husband,who ate the funny smelling pork( my fault I did not mention the funny off smell untill he had finished!) well did he know about it the next day!!! Very bad stomach indeed. So We wont be going for food here again,anytime soon.

Not been to the Tung Po for a long time since the excellent previous owners moved to Padiham and the place went terribly downhill.We recently were told that the Tung Po was under the new management of an excellent chef so gave it a try tonight and we really were not disappointed we ordered sweet and sour chicken and lemon chicken and both were excellent quality and extremely tasty,the quality of the ingredients were top notch!Tung Po is definitely the best chinese in Skipton once again.

Have been several times recently. The quality of the food and service is second to none! Delicious food and very friendly accommodating staff. We had S& P king prawns as a starter – a taste explosion followed by Duck curry and a Pork Chow mein. Both main dishes were full of tasty, lean meat unlike other takeouts in the area! Also had an accompaniment of fried mushrooms – they were to die for! We are told the restaurant / take out are under new management and they are doing a brilliant job – Thank you!

Been here twice recently, with different groups of people. Everything we've eaten has been so delicious. The Sunday menu is really good value as you can choose as many dishes as you like for a set price. Salt and pepper squid and honey lemon chicken were my particular favourites. Among the best Chinese food I've eaten. It seems to be mainly takeaway customers, as the restaurant has been quiet both times, which is a shame as it's so good

I used to be a waitress at Tung Po and at first I really enjoyed my job. Customers were always lovely and made me feel as though I was doing a good job. Even the owners were very nice. However on Saturday 20th June the woman owner was extremely abusive to me when I returned a dish because it was cooked wrong. She grabbed my wrists and squeezed them really tight & screamed at me in Chinese!I went to speak to her friend who was helping that night who didn't believe me and took the owners side! The owner was not the slightest bit remorseful for scaring me the way she did.Feeling utterly humiliated I took my earnings and walked out. I am so upset with the way I was treated especially as I was the only employee that stuck around so long. I did try to speak to her before the incident as I knew the dish was wrong, however she was adamant that it was fine. I don't understand why it escalated the way it did. All I know is I cannot work for someone who will treat their staff that way.

The food in TungPo is excellent and big portions. I've been full up whole night since I had meal there, it's really worthful! Delicious! I'll definitely come back again. Highly recommended!

I have been going here all my life until now, the last few times i have gone it has been rubbish chips hard curry tasteless chicken wings like rocks, every thing is dried up re-heated. HK is now the number one in Skipton

They have fantastic food because always freshly prepared, food save hot and on time. Hopefully waiting the restaurant open soon.

I've been going to the Tungpo for over 15 years and it's always been brilliant however it's recently been taken over and the quality and portion size of the food has seriously gone downhill I got a take away last Sunday food was missing so had to drive back down The aromatic duck was that well done that it practically turned to dust when I bit into it won't be going again.

Ordered a take away for the first time in a year, having eaten in the now closed restaurant regularly, it's changed drastically...for the worse. Such a shame as it used to be fantastic. Crispy beef was awful, odd tasty and doughy. Yuck. Won't be going there again!

I eat from here quite regularly and the food is always excellent it has got to be the best Chinese in skipton! The food is always ready quickly and efficiently. The staff are lovely, very friendly

This is not exactly a fancy restaurant, but my family and I have dined here dozens of times. We take our food very seriously and this place is always awesome. Tasty food, nothing is too much trouble, we order off the menu regularly and they enjoy that. I would highly recommend to anyone.

We visit fairly regularly during the year, to eat in the restaurant. and are never disappointed with our meal. We've been here on New Year's Day for the past 6 years or so. 12 of us this time, portions are very generous, 8 main courses were plenty, scrummy special fried rice and very tasty ribs starter. We tend to have similar things each time - not terribly adventurous!! Service can be a bit slow when they're busy but as we usually have children with us we tend to be early in the evening, but if we have to wait the prawn crackers keep us going !! The service is always good and very friendly, the children are thoroughly spoilt.

Had a lovely set meal in here, the food was delicious and there was plenty of it. The dining room is cozy and clean. We went very early evening and mid week and the restaurant was quiet, but the flow of customers collecting take away food was constant.The set menu for two probably had every dish in China!! Duck, starters, soup, nibbles, chicken dish, rice... it was all yummy.. We had to take a lot home as the portions were very generous. Will be going back soon.

I have been here over 20 times with living in Skipton and every time I go, the wait times to collect my food are terrible. They say 20 mins which is fine for fresh cooked food but that turns into sometimes over an hour. On a positive note the special fried rice is the best in Skipton though Very packed full of various meats.

These guys are not trying to be anything special, but what they do, they are doing sufficiently well. This is a fairly normal Chinese restaurant / takeaway. The young guy that does front of house is really friendly and helpful and a credit to his parents. The food is exactly what you would expect - very similar to so many other Chinese takeaways. The food doesn't excite me, but doesn't let me down. The service is exceptionally quick. I like the free bag of prawn crackers if you spend over a set amount. I would recommend but not passionately.

We had the set menu for 4. Probably a bad choice as it came with the standard anglicised chinese food format of over sweet dishes. It was pretty average and the beer and wine is definitely well overpriced. Would look elsewhere in the future

We have been customers of the tung po both to eat and and take always for many years. The staff are fantastic, they serve you with a smile, the food is fantastic, always freshly prepared and wonderful flavours. The menu is never ending and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. A really great Chinese, well priced and very welcoming, highly recommend a visit.

Continuing on from reviewing restaurants in my home town, this is by far one of the best Chinese restaurants you will ever eat in.It's not in the Town Centre but you can walk to it in 15/20mins or so...and it'll be worth it, trust me!I used to live close to this place and even though I don't now, I usually visit here once a month either in the restaurant or as takeaway.I can't grumble at any of the food...only maybe that the starters are sometimes enough for two (no bad thing though as prices are reasonable).The salt and pepper squid and or chicken is amazing, please do try it...Also one of my favourites are the salt an pepper chicken wings and also the Fillet Steak in cantonese sauce.The staff who work there are genuinely interested in you and always make your stay welcoming. A must try for any chinese food lovers...don't miss out!

Been going here for years, even used to rent a house a few doors away from the restaurant!Takeaway and eat in...both are great! Staff are always really friendly and remember you if you go in enough times! We once had a problem with our card (which wouldnt work) and didn't have any cash on us to pay for a takeaway...no problem we were told, just come back and pay next time you get a takeaway or whenever your passing! That's the kind of place we like! :)The BBQ ribs are to die for, the meat just falls off the bone, never had a bad meal there! I always take ages to decide what I want as I know it is all so good!

Me, my girlfriend and other family members have ate here on many occasions, both sit in and takeaway. Food is always on top form, and the people are great. There is no other chinese in skipton for me. :-D

Me & a friend came here last year after I asked my Dad to recommend a Chinese in Skipton. His reply was "If the one on Broughton Road is still open eat there. Me and your Mum used to go there when we lived in Skipton"... It's at least 30 years since Mum & Dad lived in Skipton & that says it all. If something stands the test of time it's for a reason. The food was top notch, and plenty of it too. Quick & friendly service to with it. We got there early & there were people already in & a steady stream of calls & customers he whole time we ate. Maybe a little dated inside, but who cares? I'm going out to eat, not look around the place. Think I'll have a little trip there tonight actually ! A couple of the ratings don't apply to this place, ie Bar or Outdoor seating. Hope that doesn't drag the review down any!

Went into restaurant had a banquet special(Tues-Thurs)it was so good and big portions the service was very good,while we were there lots of people were getting takeaway.Will be going back very soon.

I've been going here for about 15 years (usually for takeaways but sometimes to dine in) and I can safely say no other Chinese compares. As I've now moved away from the area, I constantly try out different Chinese takeaways in the hope that they are as good but I'm always disappointed. The Chow meins are the best!

My husband and I dined at Tung Po last week for the first time in many years. The service was good and the food was delicious with large portions. We shared at a portion of ribs for starters, and there was enough for two. We also shared a portion of rice to go with our main courses,, and there was plenty of food. We will be returning in the near future.

Tung Po is seriously good. The food is fresh, tasty and you get plenty of it. The starters are really really good and the crispy duck is so tasty. I often get takeaways and thy remember your name, a good personal touch.The staff will go out of their way to make you visit a good one, they are friendly and it is a good family run restaurant. A really tight team. If you are goping for a meal, this is the place to go.

I only get takeaways but ive been hundreds of times never had a problem, always a speedy service and more than enough portions.

We was recommended this by the bar staff at the Wholly Sheep Inn.Small but the food is superb with a great taste & the price was very good.A little out of town near the train station.The portions are really good,so my suggestion is if you have hot wings starter one will do two people.Same with the rice extras etc.

Wow! The steamed Sea Bass with spring onion and soy sauce.Mmmmmmmm, just the best. I don't think it is actually on the menu, but I asked just the same and I was pleasantly surprised.All of the other food was beautifully cooked and presented.

The food and value are excellent.The service is delightful.We had a banquet for 3.It was a helluva lot and they offered a doggy bag at the end of the meal.This restaurant is not in the smart centre of Skipton, but there is plenty of parking, the food is delicious and if you are hungry.GO!

Went recentally to celebrate my 30 th and the food was superb everyone was happy and the choice of food was excellent.staff were very friendly and there was no delay in bringing food out for 20 of usWill be going back for definate

The service was quick and very friendly, and the food was outstanding! Hot, tasty and plenty of it. Chicken in plum sauce is one we've not tried before and it was delicious. The egg fried rice is just that - too often we've come across insipid rice with barely a trace of egg, but this was spot on. We tried spring rolls and hot and spicy chicken as our starters - both were delicious and different to the usual, supermarket-style offerings found in many Chinese restaurants. A nice finishing touch was a plate full of orange slices and grapes, and hot wet cloths to clean up with. This is definitely up there with the best in our region - we'll certainly go again!
