Tulasi Indian Restaurant in Cherwell

Fabulous! A friend and I went to Tulasi after reading great reviews. The simple clean decor, service was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, food spiced beautifully and delicious, and a solid vegan menu is offered alongside great choices for fish and meat eaters. Also the disaster looked perfect. I suggested a weekly or monthly vegan "special" to keep us coming! Best authentic Indian food I gave found in Oxon. Highly recommended. Thank you Tulasi.

The food is well presented and the flavours are very special. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The only difficulty we had was choosing from all the tempting dishes on the menu. Luckily you will find a particularly friendly service which includes helpful recommendations.

We went to Tulsi for the first time and its amazing. We bought Biriyani and Chicken Korma along with bread. We all loved the food, taste is great and the service is best. Staffs were so kind and good. Manager is very friendly though we met him for the first time. Over all 5 Full Rating.

We ordered takeaway and found the food very disappointing. The Korma, which is meant to be made with a Coconut based sauce, was made with a (cheaper) tomato based sauce, unlike any Korma we'd tasted before. All of the sauces tasted like 'jar' sauces, not fresh, and the chicken and lamb were strange in texture. The Naan bread looked and tasted like long-life packet Naan from a cash-and- carry, and the texture was as though it had been heated in a microwave, not cooked in a Tandoor oven. The spinach in the Saag Aloo looked and tasted as though it was from a tin, runny and awful taste. It was a dreadful meal. Never again.

A really first class, modern Indian restaurant - we ate a lovely lunch here today with my sister and brother-in-law who had been singing its praises. Great friendly service and they are justly very proud of what the kitchen is turning out. High recommend.

Impromptu family gathering of 4 headed here for lunch. Member of staff was amazing and told us a lot about the food. The food was heavenly - fresh with a hint of a punch. Every dish tasted different - poppadom's were divine - who knew you could make poppadoms exciting. Lucky enough to grow up with home cooked indian cuisine - this was VERY close. Go here before everyone else discovers it (Kidlington is not known for good cuisine).

Ordered takeout for the family. Came promptly, was absolutely delicious and we all really enjoyed it. I appreciated the phone call checking that our order arrived safely and that we were happy with it, very thoughtful!

Great food, actually fragrant and original dishes rather than the dull predictable slop I’ve had from a lot of lazy takeaways. I love their paper-based takeaway packaging too.

I love dining at Tulasi every time I visit Kidlington to see my sister and niece. My favorite is their Kale Chaat! Every dish I’ve tried from their menu has been absolutely delicious. The staff are incredibly friendly and kind, and the atmosphere is always warm and welcoming. Ramakrishna anna always greets us with such warmth and makes the experience even more special. Highly recommend this place for excellent food and wonderful hospitality!

This restaurant is great, the food is delicious- my boyfriend and I always come here when we crave good curry and we never leave disappointed. My boyfriend and I both recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Malabar Prawn Curry! The atmosphere of this place is lovely. Thank you so much RK!!

Thoughly enjoyed a recent visit to this restaurant even though Kidlington weather was not so good! Having visited nearby Blenheim, called in for a lovely warming curry - Good starters, great flavours, excellent service. Good veggie and vegan options - recommend the Paneer Makhani or the Kadai Vegetables. Free local parking nearby. Will certainly visit again if back in the area.

The Indian main dishes tasted very authentic but the poppadums were very expensive for the small portion with sauces, the peshwari naan had no flavour of peshwari at all and for the price of each item it should have been full of filling. Very polite service

Amazing food we tried 3 courses and shared the food around as the dishes all sounded and were delicious. Excellent quality meat and vegetables. The food is fresh and not too much ghee like some Indian restaurants. The puddings were great and very traditional. Would highly recommend!

If you are looking for authentic Indian food, Tulasi restaurant is one of the best Indian restaurants in Kidlington and Oxford. The menu offers a variety of delicious options. Kale Chat and Masala dosa are some of our favourites!

Delicious ‘home cooked’ southern Indian food! An Asian friend of mine tipped me off and we tried it last week. Short menu but all the food we ordered were delicious. The starters are different from the usual curry houses. I especially liked the chilli chicken, kale starter and beetroot patties. Mains were tasty and not greasy - each had its unique flavour unlike the usual curries. Special vegan menu too. Will be back!

Lunch was good! The menu is not your standard curry house fare; the starters are beautifully presented - with tasty unusual dishes that you don’t often see offered. The golgappas were crunchy and beautiful, filled with chickpeas and the wonderful tang of tamarind. The vegetable biryani was perfectly spiced, hot with a creamy cooling raita served alongside. Masala tea was just right! Perfect level of service too. The restaurant is small so book ahead! We will certainly come back … highly recommend.

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a delightful lunch with my friend. The flavors of the food were absolutely incredible. Every bite was a true treat, and it was clear that a lot of care went into the preparation. What made the experience even better was the outstanding service. Rama Krishna, the manager, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and ensured that our lunch was flawless. This is the perfect spot to visit for a delicious break while on the road, and I’ll definitely be returning the next time I’m in the area!

It's a sweet little Indian restaurant that serves really good food. Mr Ramakrishna's service was very good. I tried the lamb seekh kebab, pawns tikka, chicken chettinadu with some naan's and Malabar parathas. Definitely recommend going there! 😃

My son and I enjoyed a lovely meal. The food was delicious and nicely presented. As a vegetarian I was impressed by the choice. We shared a starter of kale chat that was delicious. Friendly service and reasonably priced.

We just googled for Indian restaurant and went and Staff Rama Krishna at restaurant suggested us best dishes I never tried lamp in Uk but he suggested and it was really awesome and the complimentary kulfi was really rood overall very good will visit for sure soon.

I had a very enjoyable experience and food was very tasty. I got the chilli chicken and lamb curry which had excellent flavour. They have kingfisher on draught which goes very well with the curry as well. I was served by Arkay and Meena who was attentive and helpful on suggesting which dish would be right for me. Will definitely be returning to the restaurant!

Ram Krishna gave a wonderful service. We had coconut Patti's, Fish fry, Southern lamb curry, chicken Chettinad with Garlic Naan and pulav rice..everything was just fab. Iam from India and went to this place with my colleagues from UK. So the spice levels were good for them...Lastly we had Carrot halwa with mango kulfi as dessert...loved it...

Nice breads. Prawn curry ok but a bit watery. CTM disappointing. Chicken tikka didn't appear to have been cooked in a tandoor and sauce overly tomato flavoured

The food and the service were second to none. My niece is coeliac and the staff, chef could not have been more attentive ensuring that the food was gluten free. The onion bhaji and naan bread were the best we have tasted. I would definitely recommend this wonderful restaurant. We will definitely be returning.

We met with friends here for dinner on a Saturday night. The drinks took some time to arrive, but we hadn't seen each other for ages so were busy catching up. Due to having no soft furnishings it was very loud at times, just with people talking. The food took almost an hour after we had ordered to come out and it didn't all come together, two of us had finished eating before the last dish came to the table! When the food did arrive it was fantastic, very tasty and nicely presented. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating if a bit slow. There were two birthdays, one on our table, and those people got free kulfi. This started a chain-reaction with other tables claiming somebody had a birthday which the staff took in good faith and provided more free kulfi. The jury is out on whether I'd go again.

Delicious food with clearly marked vegan options. The Baingan Bharta and onion bhaji especially are both full of flavour, and set this restaurant apart from others.

Wanted to try this restaurant so conned a friend into taking me out. The service was impeccable and we were made to feel very welcome. My friend loved the food, but I was not quite so impressed. I will say that I am very fussy about Asian food so hold a high standard of expectation. While there was a lot of effort made to present the food in a contemporary fashion, some of the flavours did not quite hit the mark for me. The bhaji were a bit undercooked. The bread cover on the rice dish, while impressive, did not taste good. Berry dip for a papadum is just plain weird if you ask me. The thing that upset me most was that my lasse was pathetically small and for nearly £5, I really do expect a decent sized large glass, not a thimble. Apart from that, it was nice enough with a menu range that's a bit different from the norm, but a little too limited for me. I had the dosa, which was good and I would actually recommend.

Ordered with Tulasi for the first time this evening and we were so pleased we chose to get a takeaway from there. We do not live in an area that is too easy to find with just the address, but Tulasi delivered to our property quickly and with ease. The deliverer was incredibly polite and had clearly gone to some effort to find our front door! They have a really great range of dishes for vegetarians. Everything that we ordered was of such high quality, cooked perfectly and tasted so fresh. The Baingan Bharta and kale chat were particular highlights. It was also impressive to see a takeway move away from using plastic packaging! No doubt we will order from Tulasi again soon

During my stay in Oxford for a quick visit during bank Holiday, I have visited this place based on recommendation from a friend. I visited with a Friend expecting a good ambiance and Food . We have found this place excellent and food ordered Kale Chat Chilli paneer Kadhai Paneer Dal makhani South Indian parantha And Garlic naan were so delicious. On conversation, I have found Manager on duty who served is Rama Krishna and hospitality crew member is Mina . Excellent service and Food . I recommend this place to enjoy authentic Indian food . P.S. please ask at reception in advance that you are looking for their best dishes and recommendations from staff

This is now our favourite Indian restaurant and saves us trips to Southall for a ‘real’ authentic curry!!! It’s is the real thing, not the generic curry most places serve, so be prepared for a smaller menu but real, freshly prepared dishes which are so full of flavour and all prepared to order. Try the paratha, it’s amazing!!

I had an order delivered from the restaurant, that I had placed directly with them online. Delicious food, as always. The vegetarian dishes are my favourite.

Great food, great service. The only improvement required is to improve the acoustics! Put something on the walls and ceiling as the noise when crowded is terrible, currently a big empty box. Otherwise superb, a real gem.

Close to Blenheim Palace, this restaurant was excellent. The chicken tikka was flavorful and we enjoyed the kale chat. The dosa was fresh and the beetroot tikka was yummy.

This is absolutely the best authentic indian food in our area. It is prepared from fresh ingredients, not oily and always delicious whatever we choose. Our 'go to' for Indian. Does not feel heavy or leave an aftertaste. The service is prompt and professional with a smile. We accept that the restaurant is small which must be challenging for Tulasi - it can get a little noisy at busy times in the tight space if you want a quiet dinner for two. We want to support Tulasi as best we can.

We had hundreds of different asian Indian food everywhere . This is one of the best places i have been . Quality of every dish is high spec , everything tastes different . Good customer service even chef comes outside to check how happy customers are.

This is not your standard 'Indian Restaurant'; this is quality food prepared with care and full of real and subtle flavours. We shared a full vegetarian meal around a table in the garden and it was just superb! The manager even telephoned to make sure we had ordered enough rice; he was right, we hadn't.

We have been at the restaurant before and as previous visit the food was delicious and presented with attention to details, staff always very welcoming and friendly. Highly recommended! Will be back again

I've never had such good Indian food. The simple starter samosa was beautifully presented and balanced in spiciness and spices. Dari Puri was a real find, so crispy and flavourful. All main courses were perfect, the biryani was cooked under a dough cover that you opened yourself at the table. A perfect evening, also because of the friendly service.

A first class meal was enjoyed by 3 of us on our way home from a trip last Saturday evening. Plenty of home made dishes like poppadums, kulfi and mint chocolates, as well as fabulous southern Indian cuisine. The service was extremely pleasant too and we can't recommend this restaurant highly enough. Absolutely excellent. Thank you.

Our first visit to this restaurant. We received a warm welcome and were promptly served with the drinks that we’d ordered. The food arrived promptly and was absolutely delicious. There were 7 of us in our party, including a child. We all said how lovely the food was. The staff were friendly and engaging too. Highly recommended.

Chicken Biriyani was okay. Keema paratha was not up to the mark, as I thought it would be of minced meat Keema.
