Nestled inside Cardiff Market on the first floor, this hidden gem left me utterly impressed! The food was simply divine—delicious and bursting with flavor. While I typically enjoy my food extra spicy, I found that their dishes cater to everyone's taste buds. Each bite had just the right amount of spice and rich flavor that kept me coming back for more! 😄 I had the pleasure of dining here with a couple of mates and we tried three different dishes from their menu. The service was quick and friendly, adding to the overall positive experience. Despite the high-quality food and service, the prices are quite affordable, and they even offer a student discount—don't miss out on that! Additionally, they have an embargo token; if you use it, be sure to ask for a stamp. I can't recommend this place enough! It's definitely a must-try spot in Cardiff. I'll surely be returning for more of their mouth-watering dishes. 😋 Thank you for the incredible experience!

Had the chicken biriyani, was very good and relatively authentic. Amazing value. Staff were friendly and helpful. The biriyani was very flavourful and had a good serving of chicken too. Also, try the cauliflower kempu!

I was really looking forward to trying this but unfortunately it didn’t meet expectations. I had the chicken biryani and mango lassi drink. The chicken was in huge chunks that you could not eat without cutting , trying to do this with a paper spoon and fork was quite difficult. The chicken was tough and not of a good quality at all. The sauce ( not much of it ) was bland and to be honest I’ve had better from a cheap jar. I was expecting a delicious home made fresh taste - sadly it couldn’t have been further from this ! The rice was basic white rice and the chips were basic - tasted like frozen shop chips. The mango lassi didn’t have any ingredients or nutritional information on it , it tasted like a thick yoghurt - again feel this is just shop bought and decanted into plain small bottles. The big disappointment was the main food though - I expected so much better. I couldn’t even finish it. It just has no taste and the chicken was almost inedible.

My friend's pulav rice with mung beans and fried cauliflower sounded healthy and interesting, but it ended up being just okay. My chicken dum biryani, while flavorful, wasn't anything extraordinary. However, I have to rave about their Kerala fired chicken! I tried it on a previous visit and it was phenomenal. Perfectly cooked chicken bursting with flavor – a true knockout. Sadly, they were out of it this time. A big shoutout to the friendly staff, though! When I mentioned my craving for the Kerala fired chicken, they were very helpful with suggestions for alternative dishes. Their service is definitely a plus. The friendly service and generous portions are a plus, but the food execution was a bit inconsistent on this visit. If you're looking for a quick Indian bite, it's worth a try, especially if they have the Kerala fired chicken available. I'll definitely be back for that!

tasty, bit slow, could be spicier

I had the Build Your Bowl special with Pilav Rice, Beef Rib Curry and Chili Prawns. Well, that was my original order. The manager mistakenly made my order with half chips and half rice. I told her I don’t like chips, she gave me an extra rice side to compensate. Excellent service, excellent flavourful Indian food.

For a street food restaurant the service was impeccable. A completely new food experience for me. South Indian food is lovely and I would highly recommend.

OMG, it's amazing. I had the rib of beef curry box with rice and chips, and the wife had the chicken. Well worth a visit, quality of food was great and speed of service given its a 6 nations home game was fast.

Another great place for a good value lunch in Cardiff Market. Love the 'build your bowl', the crispy chilli prawns were my favourite part, absolutely delicious. They've got a decent little sitting area to the side too.

Beautiful food and beautiful service. We don't visit Cardiff often but everytime we do this is where we go when hungry. Great portions and so tasty xx Oh and the mango lassi is incredible

I popped into the market hoping to find something that would put a smile on my face...Tikka Tuk did not disappoint! I tried out the Dahl curry with an addition of fried chicken. The curry and rice were so good, and the fried chicken was by far the juiciest chicken I have ever eaten. It wasn't the cheapest lunch at around £12, but I did leave more than satisfied.

The food was amazing. Flavour immense. Staff were friendly and cheerful. Not enough chairs around there so had to go looking for some. The food made up for that as it was mind blowing.

Hi all this is my second time at tukka tuk and I must say it was unbelievably good,the first time I had chicken KFC, out of this world 🌎 and my recent time at Tukka Tuk I had the beef short rib curry,rice chips and spicy prawns....OMG AMAZING ...HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE🔥🔥🔥🔥

This place is average if you are vegetarian or vegan. There aren't many options (one?!) and what I had was very salty. It needed some raita of fresh veg to balance it out. You can only have the masala chips with chicken which is no good if you don't eat chicken. I was disappointed considering the reviews.

Really nice authentic curries and friendly staff. The dal, beef rib curry and tikka masala are all tasty and fresh, good portions too. Only issue is the price of the bowls, would be good for toppings to be optional, you usually don't have to order toppings when you go anywhere for a curry and rice.

We were in cardiff from bay area , California and came across this food place in cardiff market ,tried Kerala fried chicken and fries , made with coconut oil , was delicious. Took a picture with one of staff member who happened to be from my same home town in Kerala, small world !

Chicken tikka masala was bland and portion was small. Priced at £7.50 Will come back to try the kerala fried chicken - hopefully thats better Single use plastic - cutlery & lids :(

We were served by the most lovely lady called Fflur, and devoured even more lovely food! The mutton rolls were insane, and the tikka and rice was superb. Tukka Tuk has set the bar high for an authentic Indian street food experience.

Secreted into the top corner of the Cardiff Market, this little gem is simply sublime. I wasn't expecting the quality of what arrived. Punchy flavours with lovely subtle touches in spice and warmth. Will be returning to this..... sensational.

Went here with my girlfriend (her first time in Cardiff) and got the build your own bowls. She is on a medically controlled diet and cannot have carbs so asked (very reasonably) for a bowl with no rice or chips or if there were any other carb free options. They said that this was impossible initially and then changed their mind and said that she can get it it'll just be runny. When we came to pay they then charged her significantly more than the usual bowl price even though it contained less things. This does not seem fair to people with dietary requirements and shows an impressive degree of inflexibility and potentially deliberate money grabbing. The one redeeming factor was that the food was good, however would not go back here or recommend especially for anyone with a dietary requirement.

Just enjoyed an amazing lunch here. Our teenagers loved the chicken tikka with chips (not too spicy) and we enjoyed the beef rib curry, rice and fried prawns/chicken. So tasty, perfect chilli heat and loads of delicious toppings that added texture. Highly recommended! At just over £30 for food and drinks for 4 a bargain too😊

Possibly the best curry I have ever had!! Simple, but perfect menu, reasonably priced and fantastic food and service. If there is a queue it’s worth the wait!!

On the balcony of the Cardiff market in the corner, this food stall was a great surprise. The food is a very original take on Indian street food and done very well. From what I could see of everyone around me, everything on the menu was full of flavour and well received. We had the Kerala fried chicken with Bombay fries. Everything was cooked perfectly with the chicken still being moist on the inside. The fried were well cooked but not overdone. The side salad/slaw with the fries was lovely and obviously not just there for looks. The sauce on the side was tasty and complemented the chips and chicken. At £10 a meal, I thought this was a bit expensive for a food stand, but when I collected the order, I realised that this could happily feed two people. I was kind of regretting my wife going off elsewhere as I had no one to help me with the food! The fried chicken was lovely and tasty. I wish it had been spicy, but maybe that’s personal preference. Many people don’t enjoy spice… however, I’d have loved a bit of south Asian heat with that fried chicken! However, I didn’t ask for it to be spicy, so maybe I just didn’t order right? We will definitely be visiting again.

Been twice this week. Had a bowl the first time, topped with cauliflower (after asking what was recommended) and it was excellent. Fried chicken today also excellent; hot, crispy and tasty. Highly recommended.

The staff who served me was very nice and looked like they enjoyed their job, the food was nice and hot, good flavours and a good size portion, I had the mutton rolls they were ok I think it's not to my taste but would for others 😊

Eso sí, si no te gusta el picante, avísala. Pedimos un entrante y un principal para dos personas y nos quedamos saciados. Fueron unas 14£ con la bebida. Muy recomendable.

The food here is amazing, delicious short rib beef curry, coconut dhal and the kerala fried chicken is tender and beautifully spiced. A great addition to the market, and the queues testify to how good it is. Thanks for the free cola as well! Lovely friendly people, we will be back!

Had a quick lunch here. I had the mix bowl with Kerala brown rice, daal and fried chicken pieces. It was excellent and the price is very reasonable. If you are ever in Cardiff market, pop upstairs and give it a try. You will not be disappointed.
