Trevi in Islington

Went for a brunch as got there way too early for the Kire’s concert at The Garage. I ordered simple Carbonara as it is my go to meal when testing out Italian places. I have to say I was beyond satisfied. The carbonara was creamy and tick and even though it doesn’t look like much it definitely fills you up. I did not have any starters or anything just a cup of hot chocolate on the side but once I started my meal I definitely thought I couldn’t finish it. Definitely would recommend to anyone who in the area. The prices seem a bit high compared to the other Italian place on the other side of the road but every good Italian place with delicious food will charge more. Also the prices seem normal as I was expecting it to be around that amount. Hence I did not trust the other place with cheaper food options. Overall, the food was great, the hot chocolate definitely warmed me up and the nice quiet noon was definitely that will make me come back when I’m in the area.

They didnt have mussels as the quality was bad so they left a note for me and they replaced with something else, 100% good customer service. The risotto was very good but super spicy

Llevo viniendo aquí desde los 90 y nada ha cambiado. Fue brillante entonces y lo sigue siendo. Esta fue mi primera visita en unos años y siempre volveré aquí. Tomé espaguetis y mi amigo tomó el pollo escapando. Nuestros platos vacíos eran testimonio de la comida que nos sirvieron. Gran pinta de Moretti para lavarlo también. Personal acogedor y amable. Ven y compruébalo tú mismo. Merece la pena echar un vistazo a los almuerzos de dos platos y siempre hay una tabla especial. Gracias Trevi, no cambies.

Lovely, family run Italian restaurant across the road from Highbury & Islington station. Very quick & attentive service & great freshly prepared food. Very good house Ragu sauce with the spaghetti. And the Minestrone is wonderful. Very good value set menu, and great value generally. A must-visit if I'm in the area.

Have been meaning to come here for ages and so glad I did. This place is such a gem and they even had both my favourite dishes in the one meal!!! It was delicious and there was real love in this food. I’ll be back 😍

Accepted my JustEat order but then cancelled it 45 mins later

This place is brilliant. The lady host was INCREDIBLE. In a time where customer service is dying a death… this lady knows what she is doing. The food is super. The veal escalope was perfectly cooked and the spaghetti bolognese was fantastic. It’s reasonably priced and delicious.

Absolutely delicious food! Definitely worth visiting.

Don’t be fooled by the tatty facade and tired furnishings, this is a gem. It’s cash only but there’s an ATM across the road. The service was friendly and attentive and the well-priced home-style Italian food was delivered promptly. The portions are generous and the place is licenced.

Horrendous meal, does not justify £25. The cheesecake arrived a mess, vegetables were hard and they sent chips instead of potatoes.

I had the two set course for £15,95. In all Honesty this little restaurant shocked me, in Highbury and Islington for the day and age were living in now you can’t find a better bargain then this.! I had the arancini balls as my starter and fish of the day which was Seabass with a rich tomato olives capers sauce. It was fresh and delicious I had no complaints about the food the portion size of the meal was “big” for a set course no cut backs for sure you will definitely leave with a smile on your face and a happy stomach definitely will be back and 100% recommend

Ordered via Deliveroo.... For a few pence under £18 (plus saute potatoes and delivery), the chicken meal I ordered was supposed to come with a side portion of vegetables.... The container with the vegetables was almost empty, I would say enough to fit on two tablespoons, and the foil container the chicken was in was on it's side so the sauce had leaked out all over the saute potatoes and the container itself was crushed on one side as if it had been dropped, so I binned the entire meal and cooked myself something in the oven.... Didn't bother informing either Trevi or Deliveroo as what would they have done, so out of pocket by almost £30!!! Also discovered Trevi has an FSA hygiene rating of 3, which is satisfactory but not good!!

No music, very uncomfy wooden 90 degree chairs / pews. Excellent quality pasta. Was served within 30 minutes with a bit of prompting. No student discount, but NHS discount.

Lovely friendly little restaurant. Delicious food (the Tiramisu is amazing) at decent prices. Will definitely eat here again when back in the area.

When I went in, the restaurant was empty. It filled up pretty quickly after. We were served very promptly. I had the house white and garlic bread and spaghetti carbonara. The portions are huge. The food is very good and well seasoned. We loved the family atmosphere.

Fantastic service, booked online was v popular place and for good reason! They take gluten allergy so seriously even getting a new placemat and sealed cutlery! So nice knowing can eat the same as others but non gluten. Service really attentive food was delicious and perfect location on the corner of the Trevi fountain!

Stopped after a match at the Emirates waiting for the mob to clear out waiting for the tube. Tasty, plentiful, with superbly warm and attentive waitstaff.

The atmosphere's a little basic but the food is delicious and the service is exceptional.

I had penne arrabiata and it was tasty and good value. You should be aware though that a small glass of house wine is £7 and it tastes like vinegar. A really shocking mark-up.

So, on the outside this place doesn't look the best but on the inside it's fantastic, food is amazing, service is fast, they cater well for gluten free, and they have a really good menu. I highly recommend for anyone. Staff are really friendly aswell.

Came across this little gem of a place during our stay in London. Situated across the road from the tube we were greeted by a lovely waitress, grabbed a window table to watch the world go by & was served some delicious pasta at a very reasonable price. Top notch..👌

So expensive for terrible, inauthentic Italian in an environment that feels like you're intruding on a family gathering. When you're asked to pay £13 for a small lasagne, you'd hope for more than dry herbs, cheap pasta sheets and mediocre at best ragu. I've been here 4 times now and every time I thought I'd give them another try, but the food is appalling for the price and the restaurant is always full of family members (not Italian) scrutinising you for interrupting their social event. 3 times in a row now I've been the only customer at lunch time surrounded by at least 5 observers. I'd pay £5 for a loveless, mostly cheese lasagne in that situation but not £13. Will not be back. Update! Thanks for the response. You might want to check your prices because that's not what I was charged and not what's on your chalkboard. Thanks for mentioning the wine ... it was vinegar. Not sure whether it was an open bottle or your other customers are usually on their way to Emirates but it is really bad wine. I wish you all the best. You seem to mean well, but I'm providing my honest review which is how the world works. And to pay £15.95, which is the actual price of your set menu and £7 for a small glass of wine, is only worth 2 stars. If you read what I said earlier I mentioned that I've tried to support you by coming back 4 times. None of the other times has been above mediocre but I haven't said anything until now. And the fact you've attacked me for providing an honest and constructive review is all people should need to know. If people are willing to pay for that ... good luck to them. You need Gordon Ramsay.

Fantastic non-expensive Italian in Highbury, great to pop into for a freshly cooked pasta. The 2 course menu option was great for the price. The only issue was the food was slightly under salted, but I assume that’s so the customer can adjust it to their liking. My partner also found it a big ‘stingy’ to only offer four onion rings on a plate. Still - a definite recommendation for some ambience unique to its area, a calm away from the storm of this city we live in.

This is a charming restaurant in Highbury & Islington. Yelez, our waitress, was very witty and attentive; she elevated the entire experience. We were a large group there for a birthday celebration, and all of the food arrived promptly and together. The dishes were exquisite, and very well priced and portioned. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.

It's very hard to make great pasta. And they don't. But they do offer 10% off the bill for a good Google review, and suspiciously only take cash (so they make that back on the unpaid tax, I'd imagine).

First visit here after a recommendation for post match food. We were seated with no waiting time, excellent core Italian menu with some delicious specials. The tiramisu was very light! We should have ordered two 🤣 we will be back 🤩

Great place to have dinner with sister on arriving in London. Love this place. Friendly, welcoming. Top quality food, great selection including specials board and set 2 course meal. I went for traditional Spaghetti Bolognese with garlic bread, whilst my sister had Sea Bass in tomato caper sauce. Yum. Being greedy we had desert. Tiramasu and Lemon Cheesecake. Just what you want from a local Italian restaurant. Nothing too pretentious, good prices, sizable portions, and tasty.

Good amount of food but that wasn't carbonara. Was just some spaghetti with bacon(cheap one) no flavour at all. Zero herbs and garlic. I'll never recommend it! If you guys want to sell carbonara,charging 9-10£,please do it properly,is extremely bad what you sell under the name "carbonara". I'll send a complaint to eho.

My brother booked a table for 4 people at 6pm last night. Turned up on time to a packed restaurant. Showed them the booking confirmation on my phone only to be told that they do not accept this online booking on Arsenal match days. No apology. No explanation that they were looking into fixing this issue. Told to wait and they would try to find a table but that could take anything from 10 to 60 mins! The lack of apology and blasé attitude towards this scenario were the biggest disappointment. They had a packed restaurant so didn't care about losing a potential customer. Obviously we left and had a much better experience at Fireaway Pizza on Holloway road, which I would definitely recommend to anyone over Trevi. They are a shambles.

Trevi is an Islington institution. It looks and feels like a traditional ristorante. The food has never wavered over the years. Just good, solid, Italian home cooking.

A very enjoyable Italian restaurant whose austere decor is more than up for by the delicious 'home cooked' style of cuisine. Served with a delightful house red, or Italian beer, a very satisfying culinary experience. Especially after a home win at the Emirates and a long walk down the Holloway Road! It has a lovely family atmosphere and good VFM. Ideally situated opposite Highbury & Islington Station, its well worth a visit, or two. SG.
