Trawl in North East Lincolnshire

came to the trawl last night, food was really nice, atmosphere was great, staff was really polite, kay and ash was really friendly and welcoming.

We pre booked and the table was ready when we arrived - we had a brilliant meal which exceeded expectations in every way. Alex who took our order and served us was brilliant, she made us feel so welcome and really made it a five star experience!

We came to the trawl for a family meal for my dad's birthday. My daughter ordered lasagne. It came and it did not look nice in the dish. She tried it said it had no taste. There was no meat in it. We had it replaced and the second one was full of water. I had the steak pie. The gravey was that thick you could not poor it out the jug. Won't be going back

Ah, The Trawl. A Grimsby institution with a car park so vast it could host a monster truck rally. And a selection of drinks that would make anyone weep with joy (or perhaps just confusion at the sheer variety). But let's talk about the food, shall we? Specifically, the beef burgers. Now, I'm no geologist, but I'm fairly certain the burgers I was served on my last visit could be carbon-dated back to the Jurassic period. These weren't your average, juicy patties. Oh no, these were dense, petrified discs of beef that could have doubled as hockey pucks. I'm surprised the staff didn't serve them with a chisel and safety goggles. The service? Well, let's just say the staff weren't exactly breaking the land speed record. I'm pretty sure I saw a glacier move faster than my order being taken. Perhaps they were concerned that any sudden movements might trigger a seismic event, given the tectonic plates of beef masquerading as burgers on our table. But hey, let's not be too harsh. The Trawl has its charms. If you're looking for a place to park your aircraft carrier, or you fancy a leisurely pint while contemplating the meaning of life (and waiting for your food to arrive), then this is the place for you. Just maybe bring your own teeth. Disclaimer - This review was written in July only just posted now as seen in my drafts. Things hopefully have improved.

We come to the trawl every week after football, service is fast and efficient and everyone is really friendly. £10 roast especially is a team favourite. Special shoutout to Ellie and Bex!

This is our local pub, we moved here in September last year. This is our 4th visit and apart from one lunchtime visit 3/4 have been poor. On our 1st visit the only Bitter available was John Smiths, at Christmas we had frozen vegetables served still frozen! (resulting in a dodgy tummy the day after) and today we've come for Sunday lunch and discovered that the extra large dinner is virtually the same as the standard except for the Yorkshire pudding. We had to ask for stuffing Unlikely to revisit. ☹️ 28/11/2024 Decided to revisit and nothing has changed. Overcooked cold food. Chicken was so dry it was inedible. My missus had the chicken sandwich, it came in a burnt bun, no tomato, no onion and the lettuce was brown! We were offered a refund. Will not be returning.

Carvey meat portion too small,yorkshire puddings still frozen in centre,in fairness to the latter full of apologies and replaced with free drink included. Children meals pretty decent. Honest feedback could do better.

The service was Really slow there was old chunks of food on the floor they never have the food that I like this place is not what it used to be standards have dropped unfortunately not worth going anymore.

Had a great experience at the Trawl today! The atmosphere wasn’t busy and was quiet! The food came really quickly and was hot and cooked to perfection! I have been here a couple of times now and the food is always spot on! The staff serve you with a smile too which always goes far!

Not a very nice place, I've got no complaints about the food the meal was nice BUT the meal I ordered came out wrong I was told by a young lass that's the meal you ordered haha don't think so I'm sure I know what I ordered she then got on her high horse and shouted I'm not standing here arguing with you, the meal was replaced like I said foods lovely, THEN my 11 year olds dessert came out wrong again, same delightful waitress came over picked it up didn't speak took it away brought the new one through it on the table at my daughter and walked off, absolute disgrace, if you want higher reviews I would get that little cow as far-away from there as possible, shame really where local been going in years

I can honestly say that I haven't had a bad meal at the Trawl for about 10 years now. We sometimes have to ask someone to come and clean the table before we can relax but the staff recently have been friendly and professional. A good local!

Fantastic ! We had a charity quiz night there was around 30 of us and they handled it amazingly , the service was great nothing was too much trouble , all the food was hot and was brought out at the same time and food was yummy.

Appeared very understaffed. That said, the staff we interacted with were all very lovely. Took over an hour for our main courses to arrive. The roast potatoes were missing, the mash was very over-microwaved and hard/dry. The gravy was almost solid and consisted mostly of lumps. The stuffing ball disintegrated when I tried to cut it but was at least tasty. The Yorkshire puddings were very tough and hard to cut, probably over-microwaved too. Oh and there ants on the table!! The atmosphere/clientele leave a lot to be desired. A real shame really as it could be a great location. Just seems that most people don’t know how to behave in public or be decent human beings. No manners or decorum and no respect or consideration. Neanderthals in football shirts, at best! Nicer at The Wellow in Cleethorpes, worth travelling a bit further to avoid this place. Waste of money, disappointing food and will avoid at all costs.

Went yesterday for food having waited ages for it to come chicken was cold chips cold ,my friends was burnt .complained they did me another chips was hot chicken had been pinged in microwave was rubbish.. won,t be returning. Other people also had problems with there meals. Answer we have new chef .

I don't know what's happened to this place used to be a good place to eat. My friends food was cold and sent back. It wasn't that good when it came back. My sizzler was not sizzling all onion and peppers burnt and stuck to sizzler. Heard another 2 people complain about their food and got a refund. Went home with bad guts. Will mott be returning

Nice family pub, friendly staff, decent food at a reasonable price. My only qualm was the gravy was too thin for my liking. The car park can take a while to exit as its onto a busy road right by the roundabout.

Not all the menu available. Waiting ages for food. Staff are rude. Spoke to someone to see where food is and got ignored. It wasn't till asked for money back to go elsewhere that the food was then conviently on its way out.

Alot of the food on the menu was out of stock, weren't informed until we went to the bar to order, the excuse was a new menu is coming out next week so they're not getting any more of the current menu items in, asked for hot drinks and was told no milk either!!

As a vegan, I'm used to my options being limited,but was looking forward to the offerings on the menu. Out with friends tonight and not 1 of the 3 vegan main meals was available. I was told "we've got a new menu next week and there's some great stuff on there". Wonderful,but I was hungry tonight,not next week. I had a disappointing bowl of chips and left. I won't be returning,new menu or not.

Food here is usually decent. Got this lettuce served on my baguette today 🤮 doesn't look as bad as it was.. Very brown. Wouldn't give it to my pets

After visiting in June we decided to come again to the Trawl. Our meat didn't come as well done as we'd asked for but it was no trouble at all to change it. Unfortunately they were out of stock on a few kids meals but they were very good in offering alternatives and providing excellent service. The meals were lovely and we will definitely be coming again. Special mention for the assistant manager Ellie for being amazing and nothing was too much bother for her. Prime example of what type of person you want running a shift/ pub. Well done!
