Traditional Fish and Chips in West Dorset

had our last night evening meal from this place. lovely fresh food cooked to order so nothing sitting around getting stale. lovely chips and fish cakes we had were just lovely

We searched and searched for a table, but easy put to help out caused everywhere to be fully booked. So we opted for chips. We chose here as it has the longest queue. The chips were nice and fresh. I would highly recommend a kids meal if you want a normal size portion.

Always sure of good quality fish and chips. Eat in or take away. Have tried both and both up to a high standard.

We ordered, paid, waited just 10 minutes and it was lovely. Very popular unit on the waterside. Good takeaway.

For £7.00 you can sit by the harbour eating your fish and chips while gazing over the harbour. Just be careful of the seagulls also looking to stuff themselves with your fish and chips. Watch the children and adults catching crabs and the boats bobbing in the harbour. What a wonderful way to spend an lazy evening.

Very impressed! We ate delicious freshly cooked Haddock and Chips with Mushy Peas and a Small Cod and Chips for my ageing Mum. Most fish and chips around here is pretty good but instead of being an 8/10 the fish here was 10/10. We have used most of the other cabins and two of the restaurants in West Bay and one in Bridport but this was the best. Good service too. This will now be our local chippy.

Gorgeous Fresh Fish & chips at BJs, crispy battered fish, and very tasty chips, I would highly recommend a delicious lunch there.

Hot Bank Holiday evening and the staff kept getting the orders out until their was no more fish to sell. Always polite and food of a high standard.Thanks for good service.

Lovely battered fish but have tasted better chips - they were a bit dry - more like oven chips than typical chip shop chips.

Great fish n chips on this now famous tourist venue. Always fresh & great traditional high quality chips. A trip to the seaside made perfect.

Usually expect to pay 'over the odds' when at a coastal resort..but not here. Really good value if you are on a tight budget.

Went mid week at the end of March. It was closed early evening so had fish and chips for lunch the next day instead. I had a small portion which was more than enough and cooked fresh to order. It was excellent - I will be definitely be having this again in future.

Great food! When we went for a day trip the kiosk was open, with a good choice of food! Great to see!

Este es definitivamente el lugar favorito de las familias! Todos tenemos gustos muy diferentes, pero siempre hay algo para cada sabor diferente! El pescado y las patatas fritas es mi favorito, con el pescado siempre con una gran degustación de empanada encantador fresco! Los chicos tienden a probar el menú burger - por una vez comer fuera completo se llena su apetito! La salsa curry es un deber, pero tener unos ollas como toda la familia pronto se sumerge!

we have been visiting west bay for over 50 years. for many years we have bought our take a way from this stall to take back to a caravan to eat or enjoy sat on the harbour wall. great staff, great food both in quality and portion size. highly recommend a visit.

oui, le fish and chips est copieux, bien frais, les frites sont bonnes aussi, à déguster avec le vinaigre de malt. Par contre, le must serait de la sauce tartare maison et c'est seulement mayo ou ketchup... dommage!

WE often pop into West Bay early evening for fish and chips to eat outside watching the world go by. The portions are very generous and often just share the chips, mushy peas are excellent too!

Lovely fresh fish cooked fresh on order. Seating at the side but unfortunately birds had pooed on the seats and were hasseled by the seagulls which is no fault of the owners. Would highly recommend. There are a number of sauces to choose from to.

Visited West Bay last weekend, and we decided to have fish and chips from one of the food huts around the harbour, checked out the recommendations on T/A and saw this one, quite frankly I was disappointed, the fish was fine but the chips were over cooked and inedible, I had to bin them

Absolutely the best. Gorgeous tasting Haddock & my husband agreed the cod was very good, the batter was light & crispy as well, a real treat. Can't wait to go back again.

On a cold and blustery day, we decided to treat ourselves to a warm lunch. Service was fast and the fish was great.

Bought fish and chips from one of the huts opposite the harbour. Was cooked fresh whilst you waited. The fish was so fresh it fell apart and had nice big flakes. Wouldn't hesitate to have again, in fact I'm looking forward to my next visit to West Bay.

Been to west bay a lot on holiday and have to say this is my favourite place to eat cod and chips is amazing so tasteful and big portions and a great price, also the mighty burger if I'm hungry enough is a challenge but a fantastic one at that. A must go if travelling to west bay ;)

I have stayed in West Bay numerous times and have tried several of the Fish and Chip Cabins available. There are quite a few to choose from and trying to decide which one to use can be quite daunting. We found 'Traditional Fish and Chips' to be far the best. The food is cooked to order and we have found them to be consistently good. I would recommend the cod, bacon burger and curry sauce (not necessarily all at once). With children's meals from £1.50 and a portion of chips for £1.00, it is also great value for money.From past experience I would avoid 'Pops Place' (end cabin), the chips were so undercooked, it was like eating raw potatoes. We had to bin the lot!!
