Best Chinese Takeaway in Cardiff by a mile. Reluctant to write this review as we'd rather keep it a secret! Great, consistent food and lovely staff always.

I left Cardiff in 2017 when Top Oriental Chinese takeaway was one of the best places for great food. We had 2 meals this evening, a king prawn chow main which was tasteless and a lot of the noodles were clumped together. Also chicken with vegetables. The vegetables were over cooked and the sauce far too salty to eat. Even the prawn crackers we ordered were hard and not nice. Sorry won't be going back again, a waste of £23

Spring rolls were burnt at the ends and everything was dry

Unfortunately, ordered a takeaway which included sweet and sour chicken, salt and pepper chicken, pancake rolls, fried rice and chips…The food was tasteless and didn’t even taste like Chinese food..The food was very disappointing and needed to complain

Had a takeaway after the Rugby last week (19th Nov). 1st time I've ordered from here and it was really really nice food. Staff were excellent too. 10/10. Thanku

We had various Chinese meals along with the usual chips and rice. Let’s be honest the meals were pleasant and reasonably priced it won’t blow you away but worth a try. Parking is a nightmare due to location. If you want a reasonable Chinese at a fair price go for it

Best Chinese by far, always hot and fresh with no grease. Only downfall is delivery can take long because they’re so busy but that’s a good thing I suppose!

Being somewhat disappointed with our normal choice of Chinese takeaway and having tried others we decided to give the Top Oriental in Birchgrove a go. We ordered when they opened being greeted very professionally by a member of staff who efficiently took our order. We requested that our meal be delivered to our home some 3 miles away ASAP we were advised this would be in 45 minutes. The food arrived early and hot being delivered again professionally and politely. The best was yet to come my wife, guest and myself were all in agreement that this was one of the best (if not the best) Chinese takeaway we have had. The food was plentiful and more to the point full of taste. It is said the proof of the pudding (in the case the Chinese meal) is in the eating! This being the case we were more than satisfied in all aspects of the service and the food provided - Excellent. We will be returning😀👍

Completely tasteless . Sweet and sour chicken, salt and chilli chicken, curry sauce, bean sprouts, noodles, rice, chips. All tasteless.

I've been going to Top Oriental for years. Nothing too fancy, just a good local Chinese (with a 5* hygiene rating) - never had an issue with the food or service.

Dreadful Chinese food Food was not fresh and would not recommend at all Chips were rock hard noodles had a burned barbecue taste as did the curry sauce When phoning for a refund was told firstly it would be two pound and then was told they didn't know how to refund

Excellent Chinese take away. Polite staff, a good delivery service, food hot on arrival and always very tasty. Thank you for a great service over these challenging Covid19 times.

Average food rice was very salty curry sauce like gloop and chicken balls overcooked .

A fantastic New Year’s Eve feast for 12 of us. All the dishes were really fresh and tasty at a very reasonable price.

This really has to be one if the best takeaways in Cardiff. Had our usual Xmas eve takeaway. The flavours are outstanding. Very big portions too. We have one every month as only live down the road but still lovely. Little bit pricey but you get what you pay fir.

Top Oriental has become our local favourite, the food is always hot, fresh and tasty. Reasonably well priced and the staff are lovely and helpful too.

I have been using top Oriental for many years, and they never cease to amaze me with their food. Plenty of it, and all very tasty. However, sometimes they can be a little overpriced, but I don't mind paying a tiny bit extra for quality. Definitely recommend this Amazing Chinese.

I have been using the Top Oriental for many years now. I have never had a poor meal from there. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. Food is wonderful - freshly cooked and piping hot. We usually opt for delivery. I cannot fault the service and equally important it has a food hygiene rating of 5. Very popular takeaway in my area.

What a great experience I had at this takeout. Being someone with celiac, dairy and salt allergies, they catered to all my needs without even losing any of the yummy taste. The portion size was very generous and lasted me a few extra meals. The pricing was very fair for the amazing food we had. I was greeted with a friendly smile and it was very welcoming. I would recommend this establishment to anyone looking for yummy food at great prices. Definitely will be returning!! 100% :)

Top oriental is a well established takeaway in the area. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is consistently tasty. We have had delivery a few times and generally it arrives to the time they give to us.

I have visited here previously and didn’t feel it was worthy of a five star rating so decided to give the guys another chance tonight. We ordered Yeung chow fried rice, chicken and mushrooms, egg fried rice along with a chicken curry. On a positive note, the portions are absolutely enormous and if you wish to pile your food high, then you must order from here. On a negative note however, the food is both extremely salty, tasteless and bland and not one of the best takeaways out there...

After a long drive back from west wales we stopped to get food. Staff were rude and we felt we being rushed to order what we wanted. After telling us “what do you want” we replied saying we wanted to look at the menu after approx 30 seconds she asked us again. We felt rushed and there wasn’t anybody else waiting. The food was tasteless felt more like reheated. The noodles were bland and the ribs were dry with very little bbq sauce. We have been here before and the food was of good quality, after tonight’s service this is our last visit.

I have been using the takeaway for a number of years, I visit once everyone couple of months. I always order and collect my food and have never had to wait to long for the food. The menu has plenty to choose from. The food is always hot and cooked well. It slightly more expensive in my opinion than some others in the local area. Never had a problem with the staff or service. I recommend this takeaway.

Hemos tenido bastantes comidas de aquí y siempre han sido muy buenas, sabrosas y frescas. Desde andar en el pedido hasta la recolección es muy rápido, por lo general no más de 10 minutos, aunque depende de qué tan ocupado, incluso en los días de partido, no esperará más de 15 minutos.

Top oriental has been my delivery choice for years. The food is always delicious, chicken balls exceptionally nice and pancake roll crunchy and fresh. Delivery can take a while so order with plenty of time.

Had chicken fried rice,Rice not fried,and chicken white small piece's,no seasoning,had to fry and season it all in a wok when I got home,terrible Also had beef curry ,beef not cooked ,no seasoning in rice and no curry flavour Won't be going here again..

Ordered from this take-away because it was highly recommended to us & I can honestly say won't be ordering food from here again, really disappointed. so where do I start? rubbery prawns either cooked from frozen or reheated, noodles were over-cooked & looked like your average super-noodles from a pack, special fried rice was not fried (boiled) & the chicken balls were squelching with Greece literally inedible.Paid £31.95 all round for it to be delivered & then having to send everything back? probably to stick in the next persons order.

Nearly Every Saturday Night we have our usual takeaway from Top Oriental! It's definitely the best in our area in our opinion! Always Hot! Always Fresh! Always Full to the Brim! Always Good! It's Always Delivered on or before Time!! It's never greasy or dry it's always good just right and always delicious!! Try it you won't be disappointed!!
