Great service here around 10pm on a Saturday evening. Plenty of choice of food to takeaway. Located in Chip Alley, Cardiff. Always the place to be at the end of a night out in Cardiff.

Me and my kids had a chips and donner kebab, the chips was kind of rotten and under cooked, jalapeño was as rotten as well,the donner was from the frozen bucket he was heating it in the fraying pan, the chickenwas undercooked,no taste, not good présentation, no think to give even a second chance, so disappointed, never eat there again

A pair of Korean tourists popped in for some fish and chips. The staff were lovely, and the food was not bad, all at a fair price. Pub이나 제대로 된 레스토랑 만큼의 질은 아니지만 가격대비(인당 10파운드 정도) 괜찮은 피쉬 앤 칩스를 먹을 수 있음. 무엇보다 카레를 비롯한 소스의 종류가 많아서 골라먹는 재미가 있음.

Best kebab in Cardiff. No hassle no rush. Not sticking card machines in your face before you even order like 1 in same lane. Quality food hot chilli an every side to accompany it. superb staff. Cya next visit.

Syoped of to get a kabab for the first time in years my god it was so bad I could not eat the meat it was like leather yuk wd I go again no not in a million years it was dirty inside as well as outside there were about 8 staff not one person was cleaning it

Got a large kebab and chips. Price was decent salad was fresh which was surprising for the time we ordered. Portion was fantastic. Service was good the employees vibed to their own music which is always fun to see and created a friendly atmosphere. Will definitely see me again after a night out!

Fish and chips had no flavor and were very greasy. Fish piece was very large, but the whole meal lacked flavor and character.

Last twice I visited for pie and chips the meat in the pie was crusty around the edges and the pastry tasked off. Looked like it been reheated a number of times and went in the bin. Thought I’d give it another go today, but it was just as bad as my previous experience and again went in the bin. Minging

Possibly the worst kebab I’ve ever had in my life. Ordered three mixed kebabs, was given dried up chicken donor kebabs, pita breads soaked in grease, salad days old. Cheesy chips were un-eatable. Cooking temperature must have been too low, soggy and oil oozed out of them when squeezed. Will never order food from this establishment again.

We enjoy popping in here after a few beers. It's the only place serving chicken and mushroom pies in the street now. Chicken curry off the bone is always a favourite too. It's a little pricey but then it's location is great. Gets a little crazy by night but that's part of the attraction. Some seating helps too.

It is a pilgrimage to eat here after a wild night out.

Have to be honest and say I was disappointed. Dorothy's and Tony's went head to head recently in a review of their chicken curry and chips. What I discovered: the interior of Tony's is in dire need of a refresh, the chips turned into a bit of a mush under the curry sauce and the sauce itself lacked any real taste. I'm keen to try Dorothy's now but I won't be returning to Tony's.

Ordered a pizza here on New Years Eve weekend, wanted to order a meat pizza only to be told there is no other pizza than the small margarita. That should have been a warning from there. When I got the pizza I didn’t open it until we got back to the hotel and we both couldn’t believe how bad it was. The pizza was clearly bought from a supermarket for about 50p (you know the ones). There was next to no cheese on it and the bread was rock hard. The price you pay I would expect something better. Clearly I picked the worst take away in Wales. Should be ashamed to serve that to people.

Not very good have staff got any Hygiene certificate and health certificates ? Some of staff cannot speak English how could pass exam certificate ..

The staff are friendly, the food is good, and the atmosphere inside the restaurant feels like belonging. I prefer to eat inside the restaurant so that the food does not get cold 4.5/5

Margherita pizza 🍕 had barely any cheese on it & was like a biscuit! Kept making a racket in the box. Paid good money for it, disappointing. Spring roll was alright, good size & crunchy. Bought colleague a mixed kebab roll & they ate 1/3rd of it & threw it in the bin in the shop itself sadly.

A trip to Cardiff isn't complete without a visit to Toni's I've visited this place for years and the standard has never slipped.

Ordered through deliveroo. They missed half the order. What was delivered was luke warm and not tasty, even the dog was hesitating with what we couldn't eat eat😄. Won't be be using them again.

What has happened? The place I've grown up with, the place I've been to too many times to mention has gone to pot! Front staff are still lovely but tradition is always...chicken curry off the bone with 1/2 and 1/2. What did I get and what did they have? Chips so white they looked liked mashed potato and curry sauce. No rice, no chicken, horrible curry sauce and no taste. When I asked them about rice and chicken they said they didn't have any rice and chicken was a no no. Never did I think I'd say this as Tony's was a legacy but the food now is ****

The worst pizza ever. Glad I played it safe and didn’t have the chicken burger I wanted. Only way to eat the pizza was to scrape the cheese off with my teeth- couldn’t even bite into the base- rock hard.

If you want to order, please think twice. Only order if there if its the end of the world. The food is not that delicious, packed in unsustainable food packaging and the service took ages. Ordered food via Uber Eats and took 2 hours to arrive to our house! Called them twice but no answer. When spoke with the delivery guy, he mentioned only 1 staff was working. Can you imagine, 1 staff on a busy and hot sunday! The business owner is a cheapskate! Better just close your business down. No wonder 3.3 stars only.

You need to be sharp or you'll be ripped off. Avoid. Ordered 2 x Lamb Shish Kebab. On the board price £7 each. Staffer tried to charge £15. I queried it so he called his manager and told him we'd ordered mixed kebabs. Mixed kebabs also on the board at £7 each. 2x £7 =£14 not £15. We walked out.

I came here tonight after a fun night out with friends, looking for some food. I was greeted by RUDE workers. After ordering a large amount of food between us, the server proceeded to call my friend an “UGLY C**NT” and threatened to “PUT HER IN HOSPITAL”. I am utterly shocked and disgusted with the horrible comments made unprovoked by a young worker in a fedora. I urge anyone to avoid this restaurant at all cost, especially young women. P.S the food was under average at best.

Hot chips put on top of cold to make you think they have just gone cold whilst eating them, unfortunately I wondered why he took from two different baskets, indigestible and cold sausage, unfriendly service, very disappointing

I had an amazing night with friends drinking in the bars on St Mary Street, Cardiff and before catching the last train home we ordered take away food from Tony's. There was a long queue outside, so we just ordered trays chips with various toppings (cheese, curry and gravy). We waited for the chips to be cooked and they tasted great. The staff were busy and worked hard to clear the queue.

Had the fried spicy wings there recently and they were damn good. They took a while but it was Saturday around 7 pm so can’t complain too much. 10/10 would eat again.

Late review - happened a few months ago however very much worth commenting. Asked for a certain meal and instantly recieved food from the bin. Check your meals when you order

Amazing staff and excellent kebab

Please don’t go there it’s minging, I went there instead of my usual (Dorothys) because there was a queue and no queue at this place and I wish I had queued it was VILE. I swear their curry sauce is made purely out of vinegar. They also charged me for a lemon Fanta and didn’t give me it.

I ordered a portion of chicken and chips. The chips were warm and the chicken wasn't cooked properly. The chicken pieces were cold towards the centre. I don't think I'll be visiting again.

Absolutely appalling service. My food didn't arrive and said it was delivered. The restaurant phoned me to say it was sent somewhere else and that there's an order on its way to me but it was different to what I ordered. That didn't arrive either. They ignored my calls then phoned me to say "we'll look after you next time, you have to call just eat". Reported to just eat instant messenger. I bloody well better get my refund.

Very busy after rugby. Lots of drunken customers. I give £20 note to pay for my £6 food. Get £4 change. I point out the 'mistake' and another £10 given. No quibble, no apology. Surely there should have been one or the other. Trying to fleece me for £10 or mistake? You decide.

Pizzas are awful. Like eating an old mattress covered in cheese. Genuinely the worst pizza I’ve ever had from a pizza shop.

I've been loyal to Tony's for decades when in Cardiff but they've just lost an old customer. Stopped in for late food after the pub, 'Clarksie with chips'. The guy serving tried to palm me off with an ordinary meat pie, I reiterated I wanted a Clark's pie, he swapped it for something that looked like a Clarksie but didn't have their trademark stamp, didn't taste like a Clark's pie and looked as though it had been reheated every day for a fortnight. The chips were also ruined, overcooked, burned & dry. I have rated value at '1' as it's not good value if you leave most of it. My decision to eat at this establishment was informed by the displayed food hygiene rating of 5/5 (Very Good).

Very quick, efficient, quality and good price range. Tony's fish bar is by far the best take away fish bar in Caroline street. You know this by comparing the amount of people queuing outside to the other take always in the street.

Re heated chips so bad I had to return. Battered sausage was barely edible. Will never visit again. Stay well away and go somewhere else for your food

Travelled to Cardiff to see the Wales v Ireland Rugby match, had a few drinks in the Brains craft Ale pub at the end of Caroline Street, decide to have fish and chips and chicken curry off the bone and chips. Both my wife and I enjoyed the food, for me the best fast food curry I have had , looking forward to the next visit to Cardiff to see the rugby already!

Quite often visit this place after a rugby match. It is convenient especially when on the way to the railway. Chicken curry and chips is always most welcome after a few beers.

Bought chips on my break yesterday as I work in cardiff central, the scrunch black and green chips covered by curry so I couldn't see at first were disgusting why give them to people knowing your handing out chips that are not good, don't worry ill be passing into on tk anyone that asks me where to go nasty

Kebab after a night out was required so we went to chip alley. Tony's does a great kebab! Quick service, well cooked, good prices.

Popped into Tony's for rissoles with chips and curry sauce and boy it was well yummy! Situated in Caroline Street which is known as Chippy Alley.

I had a kebab from Tony's. It was great. It fact, all things considered, I would say that it was the best kebab from Tony's that I have ever had. Admittedly, I have only had one.

I went to Tony's in Sept. 2017. It was my first visit to Wales. More specifically to the UK. I have only had the chain restaurants here in Texas and I'm not a real fan of them anymore. Just taste like deep fried grease. But I can say that I loved the fish here at Tony's. It tasted real good as well as the chips. My friends who are from Cardiff took me there and I will always have that special memory. Tom, Charlie, Rhianna, Ryan, & Lily, if you ever read this, Thank you.

Have visited here on several occasions, the chips are lovely, and you can sit down to eat them at no extra charge. The service is great. Would highly recommend.

Went in for food after a night out, not locals so not sure if it is popular in Cardiff. Whilst waiting for our food a large rat ran across the floor and under some ladies feet who was sat eating! The staff didn’t act shocked at all and completely ignored what happened. Read a previous comment about seeing a rat in December so definitely not a one off. Didn’t eat any of the food after this. Would never step foot in here again!

Had the curry and chips which was ok, then a small rat run across floor behind the counter... unbelievable I told the guy who was serving us and he looked at me as if I was mistaken... avoid is my recommendation!!

Spent about £8.00 on a pizza. It wasn’t until I got back home to find out that it was in fact a packet pizza they just cooked up! You could probably buy that pizza from Iceland for 99p. I could’nt believe they actually sell pizzas like that. They are 100% not fresh made pizzas and to charge £8 for a pizza you could buy for 99p is a joke. We also had the chicken/chips and curry sauce,trust me the picture looks way better that the actual meal. I visit Cardiff about 6 times a year and I wouldn’t eat from this place again if it was free! Cheap disgusting good that’s way overpriced for side street take away. There is however a nice chicken shop just opposite that cost a little more but the food is fantastic and you pay for what you get for!

Chip Alley aka Caroline Street is the place to see all sorts of delights...and I don't mean the skimpie things either. It is as it says on the tin.....Cheap food, open all hours good entertainment!!! and just what you want after a game Rugby. Take your pick from any of them. Tony's was the least queue. We had a very nice Fish and Chip Supper. I know people have said the fish was rubbish...but we had 2 freshly cooked fish, nice chips. Filled us up. I would give a 3 and a half as Good but not Very Good.

we looked for a traditional fish and chip shop but could not find one so took pot luck on tony's in caroline st what a mistake the fish was almost raw my wife and I eat the chips and binned the fish wether is other food is any better I do not know and will never take the chance to find out

El pescado estaba malo y el lugar muy sucio.

Siempre nos dan chips/comida en el Speedway GP Tonys después pero que no regresaremos el próximo año. No pude averiguar por qué el restaurante estaba lleno de gente esperando cerca de la barra, resulta que estaban esperando a sus peces ser preparado de nuevo después de ser dado pescado crudo! Mi hermana y su familia tenían el mismo problema (dijo que estaba crudo y el moho) y eventualmente dieron su dinero, después de un poco de debate. Yo estaba comiendo mi salsa curry, patatas fritas y sentir un poco de smug - después de todo lo malo puede salir con patatas fritas. Muy mal parece - yo lo pasamos muy mal del estómago, unas horas después. Parece que la propiedad ha cambiado, la gente que trabaja allí es sin duda diferente. Quizás sea problemas de dentición, pero no volveré a encontrar.
