Just (18:30) spent £11.25 on fish and chips Mainly batter the fish was not good, and the chips tasted like they were cooked some time ago. This place is very hit and miss, far more misses than hits of late.

Made a order for three adults and two children one if the child's meal was a RAW burger 🤬 absolutely disgusting but as I know some beef burgers will come with a bit of red in the middle but definitely not as raw as this came and disappointed my child and made her feel sick as she took a bite as u could still see the shape of mince meat witch looked like it was only cooked for 20 seconds if that (no joke) also contacted the restaurant and was basically laughed at over the phone when I braught it up and was told I know nothing about how to cook food and was spoken to very rudely and wasn't even offered an apology.never again will I order from such a disgusting fish n chips shop again.p.s not the first time I've had problems here either.(Hire a chef)

Used to live up to its name, now worse than a back alley chippy. They certainly no longer deserve the awards they received when they first opened. All the food was swimming with grease, the mushy peas were inedible slop and they even refused to more lightly batter one of the fish - something they and every other chippy I've ever been to have always been happy to do (gives me a bad tummy). Should have turned around and got a Dominos from next door, but the family really wanted fish and chips. They probably still get custom based on their prior reputation, but seriously, this place is worse now than your worst local chippy and should be avoided.

Food is vile. £3.50 for a vegan sausage that's the same size as my thumb! Chips were rock hard, and the bap was stale! All went in the bin. Spent £16 for absolutely nothing and when i tried to call them to discuss, they're closed!

Had an amazing experience here at the Posh Fish Chip Company this evening. We ordered a posh box meal, which gives the choice of fish/sausage chips and a curry sauce, mushy peas or gravy! The quality of the food here is immaculate would highly recommend!

Amazing food from the best ❤️ the cod bites were delicious and the chips were everything you’d want and expect from fresh fish and chips. So happy they are now available for match days as I know where I’ll be getting my food from after the game 😉😉🥰🥰🥰

NEVER AGAIN DO NOT RECOMMEND Spent over £16.00 on 2 regular portions of chips, 2 x pots of curry sauce 1 x sausage in batter and 1 x fishcake. Only took a couple of minutes to drive home but the food had hardly any warmth. The chips were dry and stale. Phoned up to complain and to advise on the food they were serving was cold. The young female who answered the phone call apologised but found my phone call rather funny and was giggling whilst apologising. I asked to speak to the manager but was informed not available. The phone call was left live with no response. The first time and last time we will use this chip shop. Food binned. Total waste of money.

Best fish and chips I’ve had for ages

i ordered a vegan fish & chips and omg it was so good! i find vegan 'fish' can be a bit hit or miss but this was bang on. i have missed a good chippy tea since becoming vegan and this was exactly what i needed. will 100% order again

Used to go to your Penarth branch for the Hot Chicken Curry and was delish! Proper chicken off the bone. Decided to try your Llantrisant Rd Branch, And although not advertised as ''chicken off the bone'' I was underwhelmed at the chicken which I can only assume to be frozen ''chunks'' - Dry and tasteless! Although the sauce is still lovely, the chicken really lets it down. Visited your Penarth branch again recently and sadly found out they no longer use fresh chicken either. Also, before where as I had to wait for my curry to be served up rather ''fresh'' now I just have to wait for them to microwave it. Not the best. Come on guys and gals, sort it out and it might just be worth the price and I would be paying a lot more visits I'm sure.

I really don't know what has happened to this fishshop, the food we had from there on the 26th was awful. 1 cod box meal, chips were cold, hard and a lot of the chips were black, mushy peas tasted sour and were inedible, really bad taste. I guess the one saving grace was the fish, it was nice. Other meal was pie and chips, same chips as box meal cold, hard and lots of black chips, not much to say about the pie, a bit squashed but OK. Quality of the food preparation and service has definitely gone down hill. For fish and chips this would be our go to place, I can't see me using this chipshop again.

Failed to deliver a £29 order to my elderly parents in Llandaff (driver did not show for work apparently). This was a month ago and, after many phone calls and emails, nobody has had the courtesy to address this let alone refund what is due. Disgraceful. In response, no, no money has been received and I do not know what you mean by, 'put on hold'. Now that I have your ear, perhaps you may ensure my money is promptly returned. 13th Feb. Contacted by company and offered free replacement meal which my parents thoroughly enjoyed. In addition, I have today received a refund on the order. They went the extra mile to resolve this is issue and it is much appreciated.

Really so disappointed to share that Posh Fish and Chips claims of being gluten free and coeliac safe is just not true. I phoned to confirm and placed an order online this evening. Everything seemed great upon pick up, our gluten free order was bagged separately and labelled gluten free. But now my daughter is feeling absolutely awful. It’s not fair to make these claims if you cannot guarantee this. The website claims all staff are coeliac trained and everything is prepared separately. Something went wrong here and I wouldn’t want others to go here believing it’s safe when it is definitely not.

Lovely food, its quite expensive though. Had a cod bites and chips and sausage and chips with gravy. Also had to cans of pop 21.50. Its worth it as is the best in the area. The cod bites and chips was enough for x2 people if youre on a budget.

Although food collected on time it was only just warm. Chips not freshly cooked and scrappy, batter soggy and mushy peas too runny. Fish inside the batter ok but luke warm. Won’t be using this place again.

We regularly stop at Posh when we are looking for a good Fish Supper treat. Fresh, cooked to order, so it’s nice and hot - delicious! Fridays are busy as it’s so popular, but we always get good service.

Well that was a shame! Had high hopes that PF&C would remain consistent with high standard enjoyed on our last two visits. However poor portions, cold chips and oily haddock on todays visit have scuppered that notion. Combined with being at the more expensive end of the market, think I'll give somewhere else a try. Shame.

We ordered 2 portions of fish and chips on a Friday evening, the delivery time was very quick and the person delivering was friendly. However, the standard of the fish, especially the batter, was poor and soggy, the chips were also soggy. I don’t mind paying a bit extra for good quality food, however I wouldn’t be paying these prices for fish and chips again at the “Posh” fish and chip shop.

The cod is fresh with a fairly decent crispy batter & the Battered sausages do the job when you want to eat unhealthily. The chips are hit and miss, sometimes good, sometimes slightly undercooked. They occasionally forget your order when they are very busy on Friday evenings. Overall not bad.

Had 3 lots of fish and chips. Each one The fish was cold. The chips were cold and like cardboard even the 2 pots of curry was cold and like sludge. Would never have food from here again. Go back to Five Star llandaff North

This will be the last time I use The Posh Fish and Chip Company. I've been a loyal customer for a number of years and have always enjoyed the food that they serve. I ordered a meal which was delivered to my home. The meal arrived but was missing an item. I phoned the Llantrisant Road restaurant to report this and was told that it would be passed on to a manager and the money would be refunded. I waited several days for a refund which never came. I then emailed the company to request a refund. Again, no refund. I don't know if this is just sloppy customer service or a deliberate attempt to short-change a loyal customer. Either way, I'll now vote with my feet and will use a different fish and chip shop and one that hopefully respects their customers.

This place was originally a posh fish & chip shop ! Now it’s a substandard awful Poor quality take away ! Nothing posh about jt it originally opened promising to offer something special but… they really have let standards drop to sell fish this bad I ordered Hake this was NOT HAKE BUT A CHEAP ALTERNATIVE Not anything like Hake! To add salt into the wound the batter was soggy and nasty! I’m know they are offering sub standard food. This place has been taken over by someone who hasn’t a clue about good cuisine. Once presented in a cardboard box with a slice of lemon, now placed on greaseproof paper so the batter sticks to the paper and is cold ! I asked for a box and it was placed in a cheap brown box nothing like how they used to present it = cutting cost! Ie using cheap alternatives = cutting cost. Please save you £££ go some else you will be pleased you did.We will NEVER EVER go here again. I’d rather go hungry! AVOID AVOID!

I'm no too enamoured with establishments bribing you with discounts for 5* reviews as do Posh Fish & Chips. Bit dishonest me thinks. That said...I've made two visits to the shop on Llantrissant Road...and both times been really pleased. We like that they serve more than just cod which we're not too fond of. We've had both the hake and haddock... and both were excellent. They were cooked to order, in good fresh fat (no stale old fat smells wafting out the door) with a very generous helping of decent quality chips. If I've got one niggle and that was the fat wasn't drained enough from the fish..so ended up being slightly 'soggy' by the time I'd made the 2 mile journey home. However, under the grill for a couple of mins and the fish was crispened and the flavour remained excellent. So, whether on my next visit I get discount...or not, is by the way. This is a chippy I can heartily recommend. So Posh Fish & Chips, cut out the bribery and continue to deliver good quality food...and we will come back.

Terrible experience. Chips were awful no flavour, my husband said they smelt damp!!. He and my brother had fish which they said was OK. I had the haddock fishcake, it was so dry and inedible. We were also told we had 5 minutes to finish eating as they were closing. Will not be visiting here again.

Expensive for what I got. Really mediocre fish, overly battered and grey small piece of fish. Chips were not properly drained, making them oily, as well as being pale and undercooked. Used to be much better.

Have been going here since it opened a few years ago and have been willing to pay a premium price for a premium product. However something has changed here and it could be as simple as the frying skills. Unfortunately the batter was soggy and poor as were the chips.

Misleading website and rude member of staff - I paid £30 for my meal to be prepared for pick-up at 4pm, but the shop does not open until 16:30, I later found out. As I had never been to the shop before, I wasn’t to know this. I simply followed the website prompts. When I arrived a member of staff was rude to me, and made me feel that I had greatly inconvenienced him because their website was wrong. He repeatedly pointed out in an aggressive manner that I shouldn’t have made an early order through the website. I waited 40 minutes for fish and chips, but there were several walk-ins who received their orders before me. Once prepared, the food was pretty good, but I’m reluctant to return after the way I was spoken to.

After reading the recent reviews, I was a bit worried about going to try it out as the new local. I was pleasantly surprised to see that on the wall they had a top 40 UK fish and chip shop 2023 sign up, and when we brought the food home it was quite delicious. I've used you many times and normally very good, but (12/06/21) around 9pm on an uber eats delivery the large cod supper was not edible. Very disappointed. The fish batter was soggy and slimy fish. The chips were dry. The mushy peas were a different colour to normal and tasted different. I couldn't finish them. The meal was stone cold but it's not normally when it's the same distance as usual. I have regularly order the Prime Atlantic Cod meal box from this company. I have been happy with the quality of the food and delivery time. Recently, they have removed items from the meal box, such as the lemon and tartar sauce. The extra items made it seem like you were getting a ‘posh’ fish and cheap meal. However, with the removal of items from the meal and increased price (roughly £2) it has become a bog standard fish and chip meal that is way overpriced. I will not be ordering again.

Splendid eatery. Food is like heaven, the cod melted on my tongue. The mushy peas are to die for, the perfect ratio of mush to pea!! I would even like this divine take away to cater my wedding, totally incredible and worth every penny. Haven’t seen certain staff members for a while, two young pretty girls (blonde and dark hair) however the male staff don’t fail to please the eyes, sometimes catch myself coming in just to take a look at the young bearded boy (the shorter out of the two, heard the taller boy call him esan/esam??) ;). Had to remove a star as certain times ive witnessed (a possible manager??) very tall built like a bear, bearded man shouting at staff, yet I feel this could easily be resolved. My family and I had a wonderful stay at this clean, reasonably priced hotel. Plenty of food and delicious The employees were all very pleasant and highly valued. Keep up the excellent work. We were there for the first time.

The ambiance is pleasant. Haddock was served in a generous portion and was delicious. My friend who ordered the Halibut said it was also delicious. Only criticism I have is that the bread served with the amuse-bouche could have been of higher quality.

Adored this location! Friendly service and a reasonably priced dinner. Two portions of fish and chips with coleslaw and sticky toffee pudding are available for $43. Fish was crunchy but slightly overcooked. Very minimal bit of tartar sauce, although extra is provided upon request. The sticky toffee pudding was by far the highlight. Will return.
