Havnt been for years and it's been done out. Great place with a happy hour . Two bottles of bud (330ml) £5.

Came for date night with my fiancé 🙏 Gavin and Rubell gave us top tier service fair play! Ben on the bar was amazing and so quick with drinks! GAVIN ~ He 100% deserves a payrise! Look forward to returning again soon 😉 x

Great bar, loved it. Food was really good, great selection of drinks, and staff were great. Good lively atmosphere, with decent music.

We were a party of 4 and had the best time at the philharmonic Cardiff but this was massively because of the fabulous waitress we had Tia. She was extremely helpful as it was our first time and we couldn’t have asked for a better waitress. Very efficient and on the ball. She made our experience and because of her we will definitely be back

Came on a night out after work for Cardiff SOJU 소주 - Valentines Special, big mistake as it meant I had essentially been awake for 24 hours with barely any food or sleep. Didn't have any food as it was after 10pm. Definitely somewhere to go for a night out rather than somewhere to eat. The music was very loud. Hope I didn't make too much mess.

Top security and staff, never failed to have am enjoyable night out here. Manager stewie is an asset to the venue, definitely recommend!

Had the best bottomless brunch - food was really tasty - drinks were all freshly made and tasted amazing! Our waitress Tia was amazing and was back and fore the table for the whole 90mins bringing us the drinks we had asked for. Defo the best experience and will come again! Thank you Tia x

Atmosphere was fantastic as was the music choices. My food was average, salami and chicken pretzel bun, chicken was cold which was unexpected. Service was good, Staff were very friendly and earning their wages. Cocktails were not quality but plentiful as we booked the bottomless brunch. Overall we had a great time.

Fui aquí el sábado a ver el rugby. Llegamos temprano, y encontramos una mesa con una buena vista de la televisión. Una hora y media después (20 minutos antes del inicio) un miembro del personal se acercó y nos dijo bruscamente "correcto, tienes 5 minutos para moverte, esta mesa ha sido reservada" . Volvió 5 minutos después y puso un cartel de "mesa reservada" delante de nosotros. Nos dejó 15 minutos para encontrar otro lugar para ver el partido, ya que obviamente, no nos íbamos a quedar, después de haber sido tratados tan mal.

Toilets need attention, not pleasant at all

A very busy bar at the weekend. Expect to pay to get in, staff can be rude, which I get when your dealing with drunk people and your sober. Pushed and shoved and music so loud that you can't talk! Defo a youngsters place.

Had the bottomless brunch here this week. The choice of food and drink was excellent. The food we chose was great. The cocktails were delicious and the service we received was awesome. Would definitely book this here again 100%.

Myself and 6 friends thoroughly enjoyed a bottomless brunch this afternoon then food was good and the drinks were outstanding. Our waitress Ella was totally amazing kept coming over and asking what drinks we want next ! We were never without at least 2 drinks in front of us. Totally well worth the money we will definitely be back. Amazing music as well. Thank you so much.

Booked a table for 10 for 3pm on a January afternoon, thinking that would be a quietish time. How wrong I was - music was booming, vibrating through the seats and conversation was difficult. Its not a bar to go to for friends to chat. Booking was easy and the member of staff who took the booking was excellent. We didnt eat, just drinks. Service at the bar was good but no option for table service. Too loud for us to ever return.

Asked for 4 jager bombs was told it would be cheaper to have 5, as a deal. Charged £20 when the menu clearly states 4 for £14 or £4 each. Good waitress for you, more money for you. Not customers.

Completely ridiculous, waited 45 minutes for a water for my partner, bartenders seen us and heard what we wanted and was over looked for over people who just turned up. Payed £20 for tickets we didn't even need, and was told it was dress protocol when no one else seemed to be. Won't be returning without compensation.

Is a wonderful place to listen to live music and have drinks. Not a place you would wish to have a conversation as the music is very loud but wonderful for a party or night out. Food is served but was quite pricy for what looked to be fairly poor quality. Staff are quite rude but that is likely the nature of business they are operating in with likely loud and obnoxious customers.

I always enjoy this place, as there's different areas depending if you want to chill, prop the bar up, or dance the night away. Staff and door guys are always welcoming too! Good selection of drinks and offers at different times.

Went for a night out for Christmas, dancing and having a good time but being told by the bouncers to move out of a space because a customer who goes in every weekend to dance wildly and needs loads of space is actually insane? Why should we move out of the way for someone who wants to be erratic and crazy dancing quite insanely, and being told by the bouncers to move to a different space! We have one night here and she gets every single weekend, why is there special treatment? Absolutely ridiculous and ruined our time in the club.

We went for bottomless brunch. We were are a large party, it was our works Christmas party. The general opinion was that it was literally the worst bottomless brunch we had been to. Slow, slow service. Cold food. Understaffed. For the 1st hour there was just one young girl serving 15 of us. We felt bad for her. Very disappointed 😞

Wasn't great, was very, very busy. Poorly staffed upstairs. I have been there on similarly busy days and has been better. Pity.

Horrible almuerzo sin fondo. No recomendaría en absoluto. El pedido se tomó 15 minutos después de que nos sentamos, no nos importaría, pero cuando estamos en un marco de tiempo y el personal estaba todo de pie hablando en el bar, descaradamente consciente de que estábamos esperando a ser atendidos justo enfrente de ellos, no había una excusa. Uno de nuestros miembros tenía que ir y preguntar si necesitábamos pedir en el bar o si íbamos a venir y ser servidos. Tomó otros cinco minutos para que alguien viniera a tomar nuestra orden. Estábamos sentados justo debajo de un televisor de pantalla plana cuando estaba teniendo lugar un evento deportivo y el lugar era ruidoso, no podíamos escucharnos hablar! Tuvimos que seguir nuestro pedido de comida que estaba pre-ordenado porque simplemente nunca llegó ... y cuando lo hizo, uno de los platos era incorrecto. La comida en sí era una decepción. La hamburguesa era literalmente una rodaja de pollo, una rodaja de chorizo y un bollo. Suena mucho más elegante en el menú. Toda la comida era tibia en el mejor de los casos y debido a que el otro plato llega tarde no pudimos comer al mismo tiempo. Pedí bebidas que nunca llegaron, las perseguí porque habían pasado cerca de 25 minutos... para que me dijeran que pronto estarían con nosotros. Luego viene otra camarera y nos pregunta si queremos más bebidas. Le informamos que acabamos de perseguir a los que pedimos. Cuando finalmente nos trajeron las bebidas, nos dijeron que nos quedaban cinco minutos sobre la mesa... ¡quince minutos antes de que nuestro tiempo terminara! Amablemente dijimos que nos habían dejado esperando por bebidas y comida y no hay manera de que podamos tomar un cóctel en cinco minutos después de que fuera tarde en primer lugar ... para luego ser dicho abruptamente por la camarera que tenían otra reserva después de nosotros. Lo siento, ¿pero ese no es nuestro problema? Si usted opera las cosas en una cinta transportadora y luego es laxo con su servicio ¿cómo es que es nuestra culpa? No recibimos ninguna disculpa en absoluto y sentimos que estábamos olvidados de todo el tiempo. Los baños femeninos de abajo también estaban rebosantes de agua y no se colocó ningún cartel afuera para advertir a la gente o informarles que usaran el otro arriba. En general, nunca recomendaría este lugar o volver

Came for breakfast the other day and it wasn't a great experience. Food was fresh which is the main perk, but portions were kinda small and very basic. Staff weren't very friendly and looked like they would rather be anywhere else unfortunately. Imagine it's probably much better in the evening when the main reason is drinking, but for the morning breakfast crowd I wouldn't really reccomend

5 bars in one place. I had 2 for 1 cocktails which were very nice. Good atmosphere and plenty of seats.

Amigos de grupos pequeños visitaron un jueves justo cuando comenzó la hora feliz. Tomamos unas copas y decidimos quedarnos a comer ya que teníamos una buena mesa en el piso superior con vistas a la animada calle. La comida resultó ser muy sabrosa y buena relación calidad-precio. Tuvimos un excelente servicio de un tipo llamado Sam que trabajó tan duro para ser útil.

Sian was hands down the best floor staff! In every bottomless brunch I’ve ever been to she’s been the absolute best! From making sure we were always topped up with drinks and our food was spot on! In my opinion Sian deserves a pay rise. This is the first time I’ve been to bottomless brunch in philharmonic and not the last as long as Sian is on hand! Thank you so much!!! Great friendly welcome. Came for Brunch,good delicious helpings. Couldn't finish it all. One tiny failing,what's the obsession with Sourdough bread? Even here,let's have proper good old toast. Great value for money. Highly recommended.

Abit dark in the restaurant but i had their lotus biscuit pancakes. 10/10!! I kinda wish there was a optional side of cream. My bf had the Welsh breakfast and loved it. The sausage was very good, where can I buy it?

OK, not welcoming at all - when a mate and I visited on a Saturday lunchtime in August 2024 between 12 and 1pm for a pint. Sat outside. Plenty of other places within a few minutes walk

Fantastic bar. Door staff professional and polite. Decent screens for footy and commentary is crystal clear sound. Drinks decent value too. Gave this bar another visit today after having a mediocre experience about 10 months ago. I was not the only person mentioning the problem member of staff but it appears it has been dealt with. Previous review for context: Came here on Tuesday night after a meal at Wagamama’s. I was hoping to watch the last 20 minutes of the football match and have my usual 2 pints when I’m working away. I’m away on a business trip so by myself. The doorman started asking me all manner of questions, who am I with where am I staying, why am I down here, why am I out by myself. He wasn’t impolite about it but it seemed a bit strange and invasive. I responded politely explaining I’m here on a work trip and staying in Premier Inn. Both parties remained polite, he was professional in his conduct. I came dressed smartly and hadn’t even consumed any alcohol. I got told it’s the policy not to allow single men in. I am a quality engineer and have been working away for 12 years. I have a routine of a meal and 2 pints most nights when away. I have never came across such a dismissive policy. At first I thought he was kidding, but no he deadly serious. I don’t like leaving negative reviews but felt compelled to share my experience here. I’m happy to amend my review if someone gets in touch.

Visited several times, staff are always friendly, food and drinks are very reasonably priced especially with their discount deals. Always a great atmosphere on the weekend however early you visit.

Sat outside for a few hours with my wife last week whilst in Cardiff for the Pink concert. Wife had a Pizza, nice enough. Drinks reasonably priced for Capital. Bit annoyed that smoking area was right by our table but it happens I guess. Only negative was one of the waitresses had a face like a slapped A@#e all afternoon. I've worked hospitality and it's a tough gig, but if you don't want to serve people with a smile change jobs. Hope review helped.

I went there before Pink concert, the food was amazing, fresh , hot and very tasty. The service was impeccable, all staff were very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was superb, I loved this place so much 💕

Manager guy with the fair hair and beard was constantly wiping and picking his nose, sneezing, rubbing his face and beard with his full hands, and then picked up glasses without washing his hands. Gross. Also, in a crowd of mainly England fans, started fist pumping when England conceded a goal. Ok, people hate the English, and maybe it's possible he knew some of the people he was winding up, but all the other England fans in the bar didn't know him. So to do that to in front of paying customers is sickening. So many people will never give this business a penny again.

It was the night of a Pink concert (not that we knew before) and the place was rammed. They had withdrawn 2 for one on cocktails but did not say. They did give us a second round of drinks but we had really wanted just the one as we were needing to get the train back to our rental cottage. Drinks had far too much ice and very little content.

Place is amazing all other experiences been fab just today I had a bad review of a women long dark hair. Just bad service got drinks made and I asked what one was which her response was “ idk try them” with a frown and an attitude it might just be a bad day but it’s not professional

Great time in Philharmonic. We pre ordered our drinks and they were brought to our table as soon as we arrived. Great Service.

Went in for a quick brunch before exploring the city. Good and quick service, polite staff and yummy food. The chips that came with the burger were probably one of the best ones I've had in a long while. Crunchy fresh and seasoned to perfection. Loved the seating options too. Overall great experience! Definitely recommend this place.

Felt I had to review: Positives: Mixed variety on the menu for food and drinks Waitress was as helpful as she could have been given the circumstances. Price is good if you get your money worth. Negatives: First drink was served 40 minutes after sitting down Food order was mixed up with another table which meant 5 brunches were delivered 20mins before everyone else's food. Second drink order was lost When the waitress did arrive with the second drink order, bless her, she knocked a few glasses over. Our table was extended and the drinks did start to come a bit before the end but it was too late as we had further bookings. I feel we should have got some discount due to all the issues. Asked the waitress if she could do something due to all the issues and the response was we should pay more. Tip: if 7 people ordered prosecco, surely it is quicker to bring a few bottles and 7 glasses.

Had bottomless brunch from 2 til 4. Didn't serve us until 230. When my friend asked get another after he drank his cocktail they said his behaviour was not tolerated and he'll be asked to leave. Half the party got served thier food. They had finished before the other half had theirs. Plates were cleared away and everything. It's not bottomless be lucky have 2 drinks avoid at all costs

Lovely welcome from the bar person as we arrived. Just popped in out of the rain and was immediately informed of the two for one offer on. Great choice of cocktails and usual bar drinks menu. Huge pub so on a wk end I can imagine it would be quite a place to add to the crawl round town and a great spot for big groups.

We hosted the launch of my new book upstairs and it was perfect - comfortable, light, intimate enough, nice sound and great staff! Thanks!

There is like an underground London style bar and cosy bar on the ground floor. ✨Music was great too. £5 charge per person. This is after 11pm . You can come in and out as they will give you a stamp. ✨ We realise that they serve food but we were too late and definitely will try again when we are in Cardiff. ✨Cool Photo Booth too and affordable drinks!🙌 ❤️P

Awful experience. There was a reserved table until 5pm. We got there at 2pm. 5 minutes within us sitting down, the 2 women were very rude to us and told us to move, no politeness about it. And once we moved tables to an unreserved one, we got told off for eating the Easter eggs by a very rude young lady. All in all, it was a very rude atmosphere, the staff were not friendly at all. That’s what you get for employing young women with no social awareness. If you are about to spend money at a place, you hope the service is good to match the price. These young women have no manners at all!!!!

After hearing so much about brunches & having troubles getting drinks I was wary. This most certainly didn’t apply here, the drinks didn’t stop the food wasn’t bad either. I would most definitely recommend for brunch, really enjoyed!

Bit early so not many people in there. Breakfast was very nice but with smoked bacon not for everyone.

Being an Indian, the cauliflower side was fantabulous to have. The service was little delayed but could understand how a Friday night be. The dance floor was little congested, however.. the music and the vibe was too good. They are 2 floors seating, ground and mezzanine being very busy. I love this place and will sure visit again ... Kudos Philharmonic.

Staff were friendly enough when they wanted my money but as an English (born) person, I was made to feel SHOCKINGLY unwelcome. We travelled there to watch the six nations rugby with our Welsh friend, and they played music all through the England game. Such hated and discrimination shown to English visitors. IM NOT TO BLAME. GET OVER IT. Never going back.

Staff not willing to discuss a simple matter at the bar before you are thrown out. If you overpay for your drinks and try to bring this to their attention - good luck. Incompetent. Shame, because the atmosphere inside is great. If only they knew how to treat people with some respect it’d be a 10/10.
