Tony Macaroni in North Ayrshire

I went for a meal with a group of friends as part of a Theatre package. The service was awful and we were late for the show. The attitude of the manager was not very professional when we put in a complaint infact bordered on being rude with no apology given at any time. I would not recommend this restaurant to any of my friends.

Went last Sunday afternoon with my husband and kids. We had initially went to Nardinis but the live piano music was too loud for my high needs ASD son, who is very sensitive to noise. The waitress very kindly tried to find us a quiet table but it was still a bit too loud for him. At the suggestion of the manager we went to Tony Macaronis next door and the staff couldn't have been nicer. The manager checked on us a couple of times and asked if i wanted the music turned down. We don't eat out often as a family as it can be quite stressful, so this was very much appreciated.

Don't mind delivery a wee bit late as long as still hot and the food was hot and very enjoyable, thanks 😊

Bolognese pizza is a no go. Place was full of fruit flies - in our drinks

Ordered spaghetti with garlic and olive oil. It was horribly overloaded with chilli and couldn't eat it. phoned to complain and a replacement came shortly after which was delicious!

Pineapple was off - had to remove it. Croquettes overcooked, dry and cheeseless. Extremely disappointing

The restaurant is quite rare if not unique in the west of Scotland because it has a stage with a piano on it, yet without some nice tune playing on the keys it seems a superfluous gesture. Even a recording playing from it, would be better. It would be much better though if instead the space was used more mindfully as inside was tight for a large wheelchair when a few people were using it and families had prams parked. They did move them aside for us and were polite about it. The disabled toilets was also a ladies that made my male friend uneasy to use. The food was lovely and filling but expensive being around £34 for two fish teas ( fish and chips, one slice of bread and butter and a smallish pot of tea for two) plus 10% "optional" gratuity that obviously the restaurant uses to make staffs wages better. Service was friendly but with too many staff involved. I would rather have one member of staff look after me and I tip them what I can afford based on quality of their service. Me and my friend felt forgotten as we finished our main and waited for the sweet for about 15 minutes. We also had a lovely ice cream soda but unfortunately some of it was lost on the table and a little spilled on me as it was fizzing up and frothing over everywhere as it was served. It's a grand old building that has been there many years and I would have liked to be able to give a much better review. If only food was more value for the price, staff didn't seem uncoordinated, the space wasn't so tight for wheelchair users and there was a dedicated disabled only toilet,

So we ordered a Napoletana with extra mushrooms, onions, peppers and ham and we received a margarita with salami, pepparoni, peppers, mushrooms and ham....not an anchovie, onion in sight, very disappointed. Delivery driver first class, he knows why5*

I go to alot of tony macaroni restaurants and this is the best one by far. Paul was brilliant and is a great front of house. We was great to us and I could hear him treat other customers the same. What a refreshing experience. Will definitely be back.

Delivered HOT! Rare for local deliveries. Great quality znd taste.

My wife and I went to Toni's on a busy Saturday night. Service was very slow simply because there wasn't enough staff on. The food was good but fortunately the wine was abysmal. My wife ordered a large Chardonnay and when it came it was no more like Chardonnay than fly in the air. Looked like a glass of water andtasted the same. Brought it to the attention of the waitress and she replaced it . Second glass was better but again not Chardonnay. Looked like Pinot which my wife doesn't like. At third attempt brought another glass on the house which was worse than the first two.. Toni's need to up their game on wine as this is not the first time we have had this experience. Won't be back in a hurry.

Love Tony’s in Largs. Ignore the last review it is not a true reflection of the staff. Just rude people not willing to wait 5-10 minutes for a table. Local businesses in Largs need all the support they can get. The staff as usual were brilliant and manager Paul is fantastic. The food as usual was brilliant. This is why we eat here every Sunday

Booked a table. Told we would need to wait or would we like him to throw people out🤷‍♀️ Never met such an ill mannered rude person as manager Paul. Never a manager!!! Will never be back. Allegria on main road far superior in every way. Staff fantastic.

The pizza was obviously packed in the delivery car on its side or at an angle, all the toppings had slid off. The "free" foccacia was like a pompadom, glad I didn't pay for it as, at £4.95, it would definitely have been a phone call and a money back request. Food was a bit late and all of it was just warm. Later and hotter is better. Sorry I understand you're busy end of month Friday but not great tonight. No "code" (0005) was asked for so not sure what that's about?

pizza undercooked resulting in a box of slop, not the first time this has happened but gave them the benefit of the doubt. Mozzarella sticks however were lovely as usual…

Bought a 2-course Itison deal for £29 which came with a drink. I ordered 2 pints of lager while we looked through the menu. I had both and my wife had water! Decided to share a starter and dessert. Had funghi fritti to start which were hot and tasty and served with a garlic alioli dip. Mains were chicken Milanese for me and rigatoni mare e Monticello for my wife. Again, hot and tasty. It’s fair to say we’ve eaten here a number of times (and reviewed) but this is the best food we’ve had here. The waitress was also the best we’ve had, being friendly, efficient and helpful. Made our meal better. Mains was cheesecake and ice cream. My wife had an americano coffee to finish. Really enjoyed our meal and we’ll certainly be back. Recommended.

Eight of us arrived quite late at the restaurant on the off-chance after cycling the Five Ferries route. With no hesitation, the manager Paul Brown invited us in and he and his team quickly sorted us out with no fuss, when most places would have turned customers away near closing time. The pizzas etc were great and the team sorted food and drinks out when I'm sure they would rather have been finishing a long day. It was very much appreciated. Customer service and ready hospitality like this can be lacking sometimes but was obviously second nature to the manager and his staff here. A+++

Largs Location, Beyond disappointed , service was abysmal , looked like the Kitchen could only process one order at a time. It does not take 30-45 to cook one pizza . The staff .. seriously not one of them cared . I will never be back , I do not recommend this place.

Delicious food and quick easy service

I ordered mozzarella fritta & a cheeseburger. the mozzarella fritta was amazing, so cheesy & they're a big size. the cheeseburger was delicious as well, nice flavour in the burger meat. definitely will be ordering again :)

Once again the food and service was outstanding! We went as a couple 4weeks ago and loved it so we brought our friends this time and they loved it too! Highly recommend to anyone. We live in Dunoon but worth the trip! Our server both times was Chris. He is a fabulous waiter. Great personality. And he remembered us.

was late, told it was on way phoned back 20 mins later to be told was just leaving then was wrong order, delivered 2 pizzas the same and then told 30 to 45 mins for replacement pizza

I DON'T RECOMMEND IT AT ALL. My friend and I were there for dinner after work...at first we asked for a table for 2 and the waitress showd us the dismelest table( suitable for 4 )in the restaurant even though just a few tables were occupied ... my friend ordered pasta with shells and I ordered fish. Food served very late ,Pasta was cold and my fish was overcooked or even burnt, with a disgusting design...several time we raised hand to ask for a side plate for the shells but no one cared!!!! Although they weren't busy and 4 of them had stood up in the bar !!! So why we have to go in that place and pay even separately for service !!!

Called into this funky looking art deco building with the kids. Sat down, was then ushered away from the area to be packed like sardines onto a table on the outskirts of area. I couldn't fit my feet/ legs under the table. Withing 5 mins the area was filling up with people just walking in. Adult meal was 1 extra sausage at double the price, the chips were dry and left by the kids, i ploughed on through but not enjoyable, ,I asked waiter what that was all about and he just dinghy'd me. Took ages for kids dessert to come out after that, one Scoop of ice cream. Sorry, not impressed 😕 I met Toni Macaroni on my honeymoon 10 years ago, is a nice bloke.. waved him off when he left the island. Kitchen and waiting staff could do better!!!

love the pizzas. easily best in town. but menu does not tell you what is on the pizzas so it's impossible to choose. it's the only bad thing to write about. but it is a massive deal to customers. they need to know what there ordering. allergies etc need to be considered also.

Easily the best pizzas in town. Only reason I deducted a star is because the menu on just eat dosent tell you what is on the pizzas. This is a major fail and really needs to be addressed. But still 4 stars as the pizzas are excellent.

I had an unpleasant experience at the restaurant. I ordered a bruschetta for a starter which was burnt. When I informed the waiter about it, she didn't offer any solution apart from taking it off the bill. Later, when the main course arrived, the waiter mistakenly placed it at the wrong table. After realising her mistake, she brought it to our table but forgot to provide us with any cutlery. When we asked for it, it took her 10 minutes to bring it to us, and by that time, our food had gone cold.

Very late - appreciate its a busy but delivery time estimates not managed well with food over an hour late. Nonetheless, pizza was actually nice and hot and super tasty. However, sides were cold, and chicken fillet had bone fragments, shame.

Part of the Nardini Building on the front in Largs. Not much to distinguish the "Tony Macaroni" part from the rest of the building. We were shown a table and given two menus. The normal full menu. Also a Sunday special menu. Which offered fixed prices for 1,2 or 3 courses. The main menu was huge. I didn't pay much attention to it as I thought I'd have a look at the special menu first. It also had a large selection. My wife ordered a starter. I would have a bit of that. We both ordered a main. I was planning on having a dessert. I had an amazing milkshake and a cola, my wife had two glasses of wine. There was a compulsory 10% service charge. Drinks and starter were brought promptly. The starter was of good size and quality. Tasted very good. A slight delay between starter and main but nothing to complain about. When the mains came out. We ordered the second drink. My wife had ordered ribs. When the waitress left to get the drinks. She said to me I'm supposed to get chips and coleslaw. The waitress did seem to be aware of this when it was brought to her attention and she scurried off to sort it out. She came back quickly apologised and said some chips were being made and would be out shortly. The chips and coleslaw arrived soon after, obviously the kitchen had done what they could to get them out quickly. So quickly one or two of the chips were a wee bit undercooked. None of this spoiled our rather tasty lunch. The total bill was just under £50 including the compulsory tip. Not cheap, however, probably the normal nowadays.

Food was simple and tasty. However the service was very very poor. Was very slow. Missing coffee and even when I asked a second time we still never received. When I asked for it to be removed from the bill I got a half mumbled apology. Really poor service and I won't be back as a result.

Popped in for their wonderful ice cream

Sat waiting for 40 minutes after collection time. Had to ask 3 times for the food. Watched the male put half the order in a just eat bag which sat for over 10 minutes until the other half of the order was ready before being taken back out and put into a carrier bag. Told the staff this, and was completely dismissed, said it would be okay because it’s a heat bag. No apology or suggestion to have freshly heated food. Food was lukewarm at best. Food and customer service was shocking.

The staff here are so lovely and accommodating, the food and ice cream are everything you want them to be whilst at the sea side and the decor is art deco tastic...but ...you wait ages to be acknowledged when you arrive (left standing on the draughty stairs), it takes ages to order drinks once seated, and it's soooooo cold!!!! (despite wrapping myself in a few jackets). The cleaning spray used on the empty tables whilst you're eating catches your throat-we were all coughing. These criticisms as easy to fix-we will definitely be back-but we hope some changes will have been made...

Rating five star for delivery service and food service. A bit over priced, but if you order it you’re wanting food made for you. Calamari rings are lovely and ice cream is lovely.

Good food, correct order, delivered on time and in correct location. Courier followed delivery instructions including calling ahead on approach. Have used before and will use again. 5 Stars.

Food delivered over 2 hours after order placed. Food was cold, most inedible. When I called to follow up on the order about an hour after ordering, was told they couldn't find my order. Then they did and it was with driver. Received the order another hour later. If you can't get the Food to the customer within 30 - 40 mins and hot, you need more drivers. This order cost nearly £30, most of it went in the bin. Just unacceptable.

Not a place I would have chosen but it was booked by friends. Carbonara was overcooked and stuck together tasteless.lasagne no better under cooked salmon prices over the top £6 50 for two tea bags and hot water. Not recommended.

Haven’t been to the place for a while although ordered take away pizzas this summer which we found delicious at the time and decided to go for my husbands birthday dinner now. We would go elsewhere next time as it was a disappointment. Except for the pizza (good again!) and good Sauvignon wine, the other dishes were very average. Caprese had mediocre tomatoes, as if from Morrisons, and the salad was tasteless - we had to ask for balsamic vinegar to compensate for the lack of taste. I have eaten better croquettes in other places. My husband was not impressed by his pasta at all - what a shame for a birthday meal! The verdict - we will either come for pizzas or order them for home delivery next time. The service was not quite up to the mark either.

On holiday for my 50th with my children and grandchildren.What a disappointment to our local Toni Mac's.Service was slow,3 kids ,food served about 20 mins apart ,one was finished while the others waited and waited,brought after the adults had been served their mains when they were asked to come with adult starters.Fizzy juice was flat ,had to be changed twice and ended up with a bottle.food was good,service not.I myself would not have paid the service charge and like to tip on service and this was a fail this time in a not so busy restaurant.Looks like they were doing lots of delivery's and more effort was going to this.Next time I'd go else where.

Absolutely divine would definitely buy again

Late night meeting we ordered mixed olives with olive oil and balsamic vinegar dressing, garlic bread, lasagne, spaghetti carbonara and chips on the side. Was delicious would highly recommend, the coffees were fab too! Staff amazing extremely friendly and helpful. As we both had laptops they couldn't have been more helpful with plugs and sockets access.

Food was delicious and portion sizes huge! However the service just wasnt up to par. Very slow at taking orders, didn't check in the with table. We got the bill and no one came back for payment 20mins later we stood up got our jackets on and still we were not approached for payment eventually we managed to find someone. First time at the Tony Macs and probably the last. Dunfermline Tony Macs for the win.

Antipasti Caldi delivered without sauces. No pouring cream with sticky toffee pudding. Chips cold and undercooked.

Only ordered 5 things and got four. It shouldn't be hard for a restaurant to count to 5! Got my second starter after 20 minutes. They did fix it to be fair.

The service was great, but the food was over-priced. As if the prices for their food isn't high enough, they scam you into tipping by including an "optional" service charge in your bill. You'll pay the service charge unless you tell them you want to opt out and that makes you seem mean so you just pay it. I would never eat here again, total rip off. It's expensive enough eating out without gratuity scams!

Ordered a takeout online. More expensive than average takeout but this one is restaurant quality and taste so worth the money. The spaghetti carbonara in particular was excellent and delicious and a very generous portion.

First time ordering from Tony Macaroni. Pizzas were really tasty. Generous toppings and great base .
