Our friends took us to Tom's for coffee and we liked the place and the view so much we stayed for lunch. We had the crab sandwich and the soup and it was excellent! The staff was very friendly.

Our friends took us to Tom's for coffee as we all liked the view. The coffee was very good. We liked the place and the staff so much we decided to stay for lunch as well. 3 of us had the crab cakes and one had the soup and we loved it! It was our first visit to the area and our friends recommended the local food. We were very impressed with everything and will recommend Tom's to our friends in Australia when they visit this area. By the way, I loved the responses of Tom to some silly reviews!

Whilst on holiday in the area we wanted to enjoy the best fish restaurant the area could offer. Whilst researching I came across Toms. It was wonderful. The flavours from the fish dishes were amazing. Although Tom work’s in the kitchen a nice twist is that he has an open kitchen area facing the dining room whereby diners can see the final preparation of their dishes. Highly recommended.

We visited Lyme Regis to celebrate my partner's birthday and chose Toms after reviewing the choices on Trip Advisor. We booked a table a week or two before our visit to ensure we secured a table. The location is fabulous - right on the seafront with uninterrupted sea views - and the restaurant was full, even though it was a Monday. Staff are fantastic, very helpful, professional and considerate, and they blended into the background when not required. We both had scallops to start and then plaice / sea bass, followed by a dessert. Food was excellent and well cooked. This was a special occasion and we were made to feel special - lovely restaurant.

This was the most beautiful location on the beachfront at Lyme Regis wether perfect doors open sat inside. The staff could not do enough to make your experience a fantastic one. My friend and I had scallops to share to start beautiful I then had lobster absolutely delicious the only thing that was a little disappointing was that I’d said I’d like extra salad as I preferred not to have the chips and the salad was like it was just from a bag! And it was just leaves no other ingredients no tomatoes or radish or onion or Peppa literally just leaves put on a plate! And also not many more leaves than my friend who did have the chips….overal this was probably one of the best located restaurants we have been to the wine and Prosecco were delicious too thanks for making our visit to your restaurant so memorable

After reading an article in the Guardian about Lyme Regis becoming a foodie destination, we immediately booked a four day break staying at a fabulous hotel on the seafront. Whilst mooching by the sea, we spotted Tom’s restaurant which we had pre-booked for that very evening, and just knew we’d made a good choice! The staff couldn’t have been more friendly and welcoming. We were seated by Robert the maître d, who gave us a delightful table with a view of the sea - delightful gentleman! We dined on freshly caught fish and the most fabulous wine, followed by a cheese selection recommended by the wonderful and knowledgeable Immy. Tom was in the kitchen busily whipping up a storm of culinary delights and Megan was wizzing about, seeing to customers every need. Not only is the food outstanding, but the location couldn’t have been better and the team truly made our evening! We will most certainly be back to Lyme, with Tom’s restaurant at the top of our list! Would highly recommended! Do not miss this gem!

Very poor fish and chips, stale chips, overdone greasy batter, grey fish. This place is very variable but mostly no good nowadays. Won’t be going back

Like one of the last reviewers said worst fish and chips ever had. I hope owner is aware how this business is not half as good as it once was. Visited 10/10/24 about 5pm. Girl who took the order was more interested in looking at phone and forgot to give me change. Then the fish and chips, which over the years were always good, were tasteless , batter overcooked and fish was mushy inside. We really should have complained but put half eaten in the bin. Will be trying somewhere else next year. Over the year we visit Lyme about 6 times but we will be trying different take a way when we come again.
