We had a great snack at Tom's Kitchen, brilliant deli. We had a cappuccino each and an Oreo biscuit cooked inside a white chocolate cookie, very unusual and very tasty. Very reasonably priced, would go again. Would recommend it to anyone. Staff were very friendly and helpful. My mum is in a wheelchair and staff helped me find the door to go in and hold it open for us. Wheelchair accessible entrance and toilets. Great atmosphere and view outside of Somerset House courtyard with fountains. Great location, just off The Strand and near Charing cross station.

También tienen deliciosos pasteles si buscas un té de la tarde elegante y suntuoso.

Food very well displayed, well priced and delicious. The staff were very efficient and were able to answer my friends query about contents of baguettes etc. The vegetable soup was very nice, it came with tasty bread and some butter. The baguettes were well filled and tasty. If you want a more substantial meal Tom's Kitchen is in the same area and looked very nice with a good menu.

Took my mum and mum in law on a day trip to London to see their granddaughter who is studying at Kings next door to Somerset House. Out of all the places to choose to eat in London we choose Tom's Kitchen as I wanted to give the family a little treat. Got there at 11.30 and Kitchen wasn't open so decided to try the Deli - really, really, really disappointing! For a deli associated with a 2 star Michelin chef I was shocked that they didn't sell decaf coffee (my mum in law cannot have caffeine for health reasons) and they then made matters worse by charging us £2.10 for hot water. Charged £5.50 for a ham and cheese role which was dry. Staff were also very rude and on the two times I walked into the food area there were 3 staff (different people on both occasions) stood around the salad area discussing its content, meaning customers couldn't get to the salad bar to look - at no point did the staff attempt to move. They seemed more interested in how they were going to market the area later on in the day then serving the customers who were already there. Would definitely not go back.

I really liked the takeaway salads and the rustic interior of this café. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. The hot chocolate was quite good but would have benefited from a better balance of sweet and dark flavouring - overall I'd give the drink 3.75 stars. Otherwise, though the rest of my experience deserves 4.5 stars.

Round off the joys of the Courtauld with coffee, salad and cake in this pleasant cafe. On the other side of Somerset House courtyard from the gallery itself, with doors at the back out to the river ( and outside tables for the brave) this pretty cafe sells good salads and several wheat free cakes ( hurrah!) that are more imaginative than the usual offerings, and provides good coffee and free water. If you at the Courtauld, or just in this part of London, this is a good place to stop and revive.

I had a really tasty wholesome lunch at Tom's Deli whilst in London for a meeting. I opted the 'Meat with 2 Salads' (GB£7.95) which was skewered chicken fillets and a choice of 2 salads, I went for potato salad and a broccoli and nut green salad. The food was fresh and of high quality and the service at the Deli counter was friendly and efficient... The dining area had a nice feel with casual old wooden tables and seating, my only complaint is that the plastic cutlery was a bit flimsy which made eating my meal a bit of a fiddle... .. on a beautiful sunny day. I was in the premises to view a street art exhibition and to meet a friend somewhat later. At 3 pm it felt far too late for lunch and far too early for supper. However, a slice of Battenburg cake and a cup of tea was perfect for the hour. It was a pity in a sense because there was freshly made soup, sandwiches etc on offer that I might have wanted to try. They have ample seating inside but the Terrace space (which is open to the public) and the courtyard are also options for outdoor eating. I chose the Terrace in the sun with the riverside view. It felt like it was a "secret spot" because there were such few people -- maybe it was the hour.

La restauration ( surtout rapide) dans les musées n'est pas toujours au top. Tom's Deli est vraiment une très bonne surprise. Des produits ultra frais, intégralement faits sur place. On entry to the cafe we were greeted by a hostile member of staff. She was rather rude and slightly dismissive of the fact that we hadn't been before and therefore were unsure of the options available. If you want a meat salad, you will likely be given a meagre half of a small chicken breast which considering the remainder of the salad options are leaves and pasta is not exactly what I would call value for money. Watch out for the sweet potato salad because you will likely be served some kind of squash under the guise of a tasty sweet potato. Also beware of hair in the dessert and be prepared for a nonchalant response to any complaints you make. Honestly, if you are after a relaxed lunch option in somerset house, stay as far away from Tom's Deli as humanly possible!

I was disappointed when I visited this Deli at the weekend to be told that they only serve breakfast during the week. I wonder whether this has been done to perhaps 'force' the public to use the significantly more expensive restaurant on the same corridor? I think it would be realistic to at least offer toast, which does not take a lot of preparation. Also, even the croissants on offer, whilst nice, were not served warm which, again, would not have taken a lot of time. There are positives though and the cakes which we had to substitute for breakfast were enjoyed by all.

It looks lovely but is so hard to work out what you can have. They restrict you to quiche and salad or 2 salads but do not let you order "off menu" as they can't cope with the pricing. Nothing for kids and we wanted the sausage roll for them but that came with salad and so cost a fortune. Could not buy sausage roll on it's own for some reason! There was absolutely nowhere to sit and it took us a very long time to find somewhere in the antechamber where people who had not bought food were sitting about using phones, laptops etc.. The Stilton quiche was very nice but the potato salad was dreadfully under-cooked and like rocks to be honest. I'm sure it might be a very good place to meet and eat when everything's quiet! We popped in for a quick bite after visiting the Somerset House gallery. I have to be honest and say that S's quiche with salad was very good, but my leek and potato soup was unbelievably ghastly- a paper cup of greasey, sludge coloured stock that had only the merest passing acquaintence with either a leek or a potato, and no discenable seasoning. Truly horrible! But, in view of S's meal, I cannot say this place was terrible, though I thought it was, so must even it all out to " average".

Stopped here for lunch on a rainy, foggy day. Once I got over the fact that the serving staff were rude and unhelpful, I felt it was pretty good for the price. The systems for service though are appalling and it needs to be made clearer what the process is for ordering etc. The buffet salad section looked to me like it was help yourself as it was open and had serving spoons on every dish and plates in a stack. I was told pretty sharpish by an assistant that it wasn't hence I needed to get in the queue. Meanwhile the three pieces of quiches left had gone by the time I got to the front and the salads had been attacked and looked sorry hence got pre packed sandwiches and coffees - which then meant parting the queue to locate a sandwich meanwhile the queue is getting bigger and the assistant is just waiting. How odd! Sandwiches and coffee were good and the customers all friendly and happy to share a table plus you get the lovely somerset house setting. Shame about the staff and the systems though!

Each element was well thought out and this was easily the best Ploughmans board ive ever had. The other two had sandwiches and coffee, "very nice" they said. I used to love this place, but haven't been for nearly 10 years. I'm glad to see it hasn't changed too much, but with the downside that it is now apparently owned by BrewDog. Luckily, it appears they let them continue without having to follow the "taproom by numbers" you get out of most BrewDog bars, so not only does it have it's own look, but there is a much more interesting selection of beers. It was easy enough to get a seat on a Saturday afternoon, which is always a bonus in a decent location like this.

Fui a desayunar. Mucho a mucho. Este lugar no es para mi. Buen café sin embargo.
