My brother and I had a lovely dinner at Tom yum the staff were really nice and we had a delicious dinner would definitely recommend!

Last minute take out! Pulled up as mt son googled Thai in Amersham, acknowledged immediately, friendly staff, presented with menu & offered a table, which was lovely whilst we chose our food for take out. Food cooked in very reasonable time. The food is incredible! We will definitely return to dine next time What a gem 💎 Thank you

We’ve been aware of this restaurant for many years but have been wary of ‘hot Thai’ food. On our visit the welcome set the scene-a no frills street style experience. Tables are closely packed and people collecting take away meals shuffle past, adding to the air of authenticity! The food however is excellent. Starters are beautifully presented and the main courses we chose were all excellent with well balanced flavours. Definitely a place to go for the food rather than a romantic evening!

Ordered a veggie noodle takeaway, drove 6 miles home, it was chicken noodle so gave it away and ate toast instead.

Been here a few times as no other Thai in the area. At first I thought it’s ok, but in reality (after 5-6 visits) the food is very salty, incredibly oily, very poorly spiced and ridiculously over priced for what you actually get. The interior has an air of authenticity but the food is bang average at best. I can only assume many of the positive reviews come from people who know no different. The establishment has been here for years with no real competition which has no doubt compromised the quality and consequent complacency of the cooking staff. Please try harder.

Came here for the first time, we were quite a big group and had such a great time. Food was absolutely delicious, the service was perfect and the atmosphere was brilliant! We were drinking and all had starters and a main and it only came to 30 quid each. Very impressed and will definately be back

We lived in Laos for 6 years and spent quite a bit of time in and out of Thailand. The food is very good! Incredibly fresh and flavorful ingredients and enough spice to make us very happy. We would highly recommend Tom Yum if you like great Thai food.

I hate complicated long menus. Most of which I am unsure what I am getting. However the food was good if slightly over priced.

COLD!!!!!! The restaurant was freezing. Despite additional heaters. I was freezing by the end of the meal, I was actually warmer outside waiting for the car, than inside eating. This, the food went cold quickly. The food was a reasonable 7/10. But was expensive compared to other Thai’s I have been to.

Great food and friendly staff. However, it's too cold inside, especially as the door opens so frequently as people collect takeaways, why isn't the heater above the door on? Plus the floor is understaffed, just getting your bill can take 15 minutes.

Last minute dinner on at this restaurant. Veggie food was really good and staff friendly. But so so so cold despite portable radiators and blankets which ruins the experience. Expensive too with prices missing inexplicably for some items on the menu.

I can’t believe it took us so long to visit! We enjoyed the informality and speed of service. But mostly, the food was very authentic especially the soup - so tasty and quite large! I will have that next time, rather than the satay. Lots to choose from though. Very friendly and cute. Will visit again

This place is lovely, I think it's a family run restaurant. The food is amazing and the staff are polite. Definitely worth a visit. Book in advanced as it's very popular.

I came here for lunch with my wife. They brought out the wrong meal for me. I sent it back but my actual dish never came. I had to remind them about it. By this time my wife had finished eating.....I asked them to cancel the meal. They offered to give it to me in a takeaway container... won't return in a hurry....they apologized but was expected to pay full price......

The decor and ambiance of this restaurant is not great but the food is definitely worth coming here . The restaurant is so small and they have a lot of people coming in for takeaways which is not so good if you’re seated by the door.

Came for a pad thai, but was fully booked, they suggested a takeaway which I agreed to, told to come back in 25 mins, which I did, they then kept me waiting around for over 10 mins outside, i mean there were free tables and what, just an unpleasant experience, left in the end.

My mum’s favourite restaurant in Bucks, always come when I visit love the Tom Yum, so tasty and spicy!

Have been coming here for years and today they would not serve us due to my sons peanut allergy. They made my 9 year old son feel extremely embarrassed and uncomfortable. Really disappointed. Have lost a valued customer.

Food is nice with reasonable price.

Had a really bad takeaway from here, food was cold, flavourless and not great. Hope it was a one off but felt like a big waste of money.

Excellent staff, excellent service, excellent food. Ambience needs work as it's small, dark and be omes smelly of food when it's busy time. We asked to be served outside which they said they don't do usually but they agreed to do it for us. Friendly behaviour by all staff members was a big plus on top of delicious non-veg and veg options.

Tried Tom Yum out for a takeaway and really enjoyed, lots of great veggie/vegan options. We had the mixed vegetarian starter which is great value for money, the vegetable tempura didn’t travel too well unfortunately but was still tasty. Love that they had a alternative to chicken satay as this used to be a favourite of mine before I went veggie. We both had a curry for main. Staff were very friendly and food ready on time when we went to pick it up, looking forward to dining in next time.

I have eaten lunch and dinner at Tom Yum and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The noodle dishes are particularly well done. It is always busy so you do need to book.

The waitress seemed to be friendly with certain regular customers and took their orders first, in spite of the fact that some other customers arrived earlier and were waiting patiently to order. This did appear rude in the eyes of other customers. Word of mouth is important. It is crucial to let every customer feel that they are welcome and are treated equally. This is a constructive recommendation and hope it is taken on board.

Absolutely delicious food. The staff were lovely and very attentive. The only let down was that it was freezing inside but it's freezing outside and the energy costs must make it difficult to heat the place. It has lots of windows and high ceilings. Will definitely come back though as the food was incredible

Sad to say this as have been a regular customer for many years but the food tonight was very sub standard. Prawns tasted horrid and the chicken was like eating and old pair of leather boots. I called to speak to the manager - not even an apology. Just said that no one else had complained about the prawns/chicken and she’d speak to the chef. Sad to say Tom Yum you have now lost a regular customer! And FYI I think if people are spending £33 you should chuck in prawn crackers and not charge an extra £2!

A wistful visit with a dear friend who lost his wife to cancer earlier this year. This was one of our favourite places as a foursome. It was heartening to see that it is still thriving. Wonderful food. We chose a mixed starter, then sweet and sour chicken, chicken with ginger sauce and crab with green curry, along with jasmine rice and vegetable phad thai. It was as busy as it always used to be, so we had to wait a little while. However, it was worth it. We weren’t in any great hurry. Our server Caesar was very sweet. Congratulations to everyone on bringing together a team effort to deliver great food and service.

This is my parents favorite restaurant and although I have had better Thai cuisine, I certainly have never had better Thai at this price. As for value for money, this takes a lot of beating. The food is tasty and can be spicy if that's your thing, the presentation is also good where vegetables are cut into shapes. The staff are very attentive and polite.

We visited Tom Yum this evening for my Birthday where as per usual we had a truly wonderful thai meal. What is refreshing about Tom Yum is it is run and owned by full on authentic thai people and the food is just superb and it even has a photo of 'James Bond Island' of Phang Nga bay on the wall!!. To top if all off the charming waitress came from Laguna Phuket which is a place that has a very fond place in my heart. Tom Yum is truly awesome for an authentic thai meal in a traditional thai restaurant

Had an amazing evening here with a friend from work.. we had a fun enthusiastic waitress who recommended a couple really good dishes.. we had about 5 starters and a couple mains all well sized and well price for the quality of the food. It was all really good but it will give a extra star to the salt and pepper squid which was absolutely incredible.. thanks for the good Meal Tom Yum

That's was a really really yummy Tom Yum Naam Kon with rice noodles, prawns, squids 🐙 and mussels. Never had something similar in my life before, like a real homemade soup 🍲!!! Also the prices are affordable, for this soup I paid £9,99! Highly recommend this Authentic Thai Restaurant!!!

This was the first time we ate at Tom Yum and we were very pleased indeed. Our meal was excellent, the service was friendly and quick and as it happened to be a Christmas celebration, I was thrilled to hear appropriate music in the background. Very good value indeed and highly recommend!

One of the best tasting Thai/ Chinese food in and around Amersham. Very small and cosy family run restaurant. Right in the heart of Amersham with plenty of parking nearby. Alcohol served here. Pleasant staff. A bit tight for space which is the only downside.

Tom Yum does everything a local restaurant should. Service is friendly and helpful with staff making time for a chat. The menu is extensive and food delicious. Spring rolls, tom yum, sticky rice and a small beer was more than enough for one person and only came to £18.50. Highly recommended :)

I lived in Thailand for 20 years. Without waving my flag too high I'm a bit of a Thai foodie. I've eaten in few Thai restaurants since I've been back. My partner and I ate there last night. In my opinion Tom Yum is the best one. A very happy smiley service which is what you'd always receive in the Kingdom. The food? Excellent! Fresh fragrant and full of flavour.... Consistently delicious food. Whether it's for dining in for two, or a largeish party, the food comes out beautifully presented and tastes divine. Take away is also available for when you need a hit of Thai food at home, and your food will be ready on time. The staff are very friendly, courteous and attentive, and never intrusive. Their lunchtime set menus are tremendously good value, so definitely worth a visit. Highly recommend.

This was our first trip to this local restaurant. The restaurant was run by a local family who were all of Thai origin. The foot and service were out of this world and it was like we were right back in Thailand. A wonderful meal!

So glad they're open again. We were so keen to try the food and it was some of the best Thai food I've ever had! Authentic, quaint and lovely people! There's also a function room upstairs which I am keen to try out. My only concern is that I might be ordering too much and too often. FYI - generous portions

Had a takeaway from Tom Yum tonight. We have recently moved to the area and this was my first visit. The food was excellent!! Quick turnaround, good portions and extremely tasty. I will definitely be visiting again for a takeaway, and for a sit down meal once covid restrictions are lifted!

Very good food at reasonable prices. Pad Thai with duck very good. I don't like super hot curry...the green Thai curry with chicken was just this side of too much. Had prawns from the specials list....very very good. Social distancing followed.

Had a meal from them last Friday week and had terrible stomach cramps and diarrhea the next morning that lasted 5 days. The Doctor confirmed food poisoning and said the type I had was usually caused from cross contamination of raw chicken and meat etc and cooked food.

Went here like 2 times a week for 2 years.. Was awesome every time! Great thai food. Great service. Miss it!

Having been to Tom Yum on many occasions for dine in we were disappointed with our first take out. The food just didn’t come up the same standard. The noodles seemed more gooey and our curry more watery. Somehow it just wasn’t the same and the true Thai flavour was a little lacking. We’ll wait until they open for sit in before trying again.

Good Thai, wasn’t blown away by our starter platter - but the mains were delicious. Staff are friendly, service is good. Restaurant is big enough for good social distancing.

I regularly visit eating in pre Covid and takeaways post Covid - they are always helpful and able to accommodate. Food is always tasty and a win win with my kids loving it too.

Just love the food and staff.....we have been coming here for years but felt a little uncomfortable due to COVID situation with people coming in to collect take a ways and standing very near to us seated at a table. There was no ventilation either, other than the door opening and closing all the time for take a ways and obviously we were not wearing masks as we were eating - it’s a tricky one for sure.

Mediocre. Have been to this restaurant pre lockdown, and was very happy. Post lockdown had a couple of take aways. A bit disappointed tonight. If you’re too busy to take my order tell me. No issue. But don’t give me sub standard food because that will just mean I am less likely to revisit

Hi Went to Tom yum a few weeks ago on a recommendation from a friend and had a lovely meal. So decided to re book for my 60th birthday, we arrived at just after 7.30 sat and were seated upstairs. Not to busy at this point. Took 10 min to ask us if we wanted a drink, and another 10 to get it we decided to order our food on the arrival of our drink along with a apology from the waitress for the delay. A further 40 min to receive a cold starter, which we had to send back, had enough of this fiasco of a restaurant, poorly managed, staff don’t understand what you are saying when ordering food we had to point at the menu, all running around like headless chickens would not recommend this place and will not be returning.

Really disappointed. Staff run around not really knowing what their doing! Food was cold when it finally arrived. Don’t really know how they have the cheek to add service charge to the bill because frankly service was terrible!
