Poor cocktails, expensive , no atmosphere, cold aircon blowing, really disappointing

Best cocktails in Lancaster and super service. Very knowledgeable lady behind the bar that put great effort into making our drinks and was chatty at the same time which was nice. It's table service. We were given a card to turn over when we wanted another drink which is a great idea and we received super quick service. I'm not keen on the high metal stools that are hard to get on if you are a shorter or 'larger' person and they make a lot of noise as they scrape on the floor or bang into the table legs. I would love to give 5 stars but sadly I've been to nicer looking places and had cheaper cocktails as good in other cities. Would be nice to see some other offers on the menu such as buy 1 get one for 1/2 price as they are very expensive when buying individually.

Tipple is always a hit. Lovely staff, delicious drinks, an ever changing menu and it even has board games! Great place for a date or an evening out with friends.

Well done Tipple for featuring in the top ten Lancaster Guardian best places to drink list. I always have a great time when I visit. The staff are really friendly and the drinks are amazing. I recommend the Bergamot and Rose Martini. See you all again soon.

Absolutely fantastic place - we booked the private room for a hen party and it was perfect, staff were really accommodating, delicious cocktails, and we got pitchers at happy hour which were very reasonably priced

The first encounter from the door staff was refreshing! So friendly and welcoming! The drinks were amazing! And the prices were reasonable! Staff were helpful and professional. Very fast and efficient service. We were sat upstairs without a booking and they accommodated us greatly! The upstairs is very cosy and private! First time here and would highly recommend for a chilled cocktail experience!

This isn't just the best cocktail bar in Lancaster, but it's the best I've ever been to. The staff are always on hand (especially with the ordering system) and are knowledgable, good fun and up for customising you a drink to order. It's absolutely brilliant here - some would say pricey, but I personally believe you get what you pay for. The owner is fantastic too, a great night out always. The range of drinks and menu is great, and there's something for everyone. There is a lack of beer, but it's a cocktail bar! Tipple attracts a slightly less rowdy crowd than other bars on the main streets, but has a buzzing atmosphere nonetheless. The selection of board games available is a brilliant addition to the night - makes it so much more fun! Must visit in Lancaster!

Turned up with no reservation and the staff managed to squeeze us in for one drink. Still table service at the moment but drinks came quickly.

We were really disappointed by the ambiance, attitude of the bar person and the one who welcomed us in, or should say didn't, to Tipple. The atmosphere between the two guys working was strained to say the least. We realise this bar is probably aimed at under 25's however if anyone willing to spend money there whatever their age should be made to feel welcome. Anne and William Fenton

Nice chill cocktail bar, not loud, has pool tables below I think not to sure as been closed off as of covid. The drinks are amazing! Tasty Drinks!! Can be a little pricey but worth it!, the picture is a Zombie cocktail 😁 TASTY

Excellent and friendly staff - great drinks and nice experience

Was expecting a very professional service and good atmosphere however our experience was far from this. Being hassled by a rude bartender for not wearing a mask when he did not see me clearing wearing on. Furthermore shouting at people to stop singing happy birthday completly ruined the atmosphere when everyone was having a good time. The bartender in question had long curly black hair and im surprised he was given a role which required a professional and friendly approach.

Rude staff! Definitely won’t go here again! Booked a table 6-8pm, arrived, got spoken to with attitude, called a liar repeatedly. Went elsewhere to enjoy our cocktails. Seems to be a trend of rude staff, reading the other negative reviews. Shame on you! Definitely won’t be recommending this place to anyone!

If I could give 0 stars I would. I went to tipple a few weeks ago, I thought my disappointment and anger for how I was treated at this establishment is immeasurable. I asked a simple question. I was with 2 friends (so three of us all together) and we had ordered 3 cocktail plus a fourth cocktail that we all wanted to try as we had never had this before. I asked if we could have 2 extra glasses to split the cocktail in order to limit the spread of germs due to COVID. Now I would have been fine if they had said no as they wanted to limit the spread of germs, limit glasses they were given out etc. BUT NO. I was called extremely rude by the waiter for asking for this. It was a simple ask. When I asked why this was rude very politely as I wanted to understand and thought there would be a genuine reason I was told that it was very very rude to ask this. If we all wanted to try the drink we should order three and it was ridiculous for me to ask this. All I wanted was to not share a glass during covid. Their argument would be fair if we were all sharing one drink but no we had all ordered a drink each and then we had ordered this as an extra drink to try to see if we like it. Bare in mind this is not a cheap place to drink in the Lancaster area. This place charges a premium for its drinks only to be treated with animosity. I have told many of my friends about this experience as I have never been called rude before in my life as I am not rude and they have vowed to not come back to this establishment also This upset me deeply. I will not be coming back. In any other establishment it would be about trying to help a paying guest. This I was treated with hostility. I was scolded by friends by not reporting how I was treated to a manager but this will have to do :( just be aware if you Go here and ask for service you will be treated as an inconvenience and almost every other pub in Lancaster will treat you with respect and go the extra mile for you so maybe try supporting other places around as there are many golden places

We like to come here after a meal when we get the chance, always a relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. The staff are really knowledgeable about various drinks and even make adjustments to your taste when trying the drinks. We particularly liked our waiter tonight, really nice man. He was up and down the stairs all the time checking if we wanted more drinks and I noticed he was always cleaning and wiping communal areas a lot. Always impressed, will keep coming

Cocktails are exceptional. Prices are not too silly. Mixologists are more than happy to make up cocktails that don't appear on their menu. Came in with a friend who doesn't have a sweet tooth. They were more than happy to tailor to his needs.

Lovely cocktail lounge spread over three floors. Short but exciting drinks menu. There is beer too if you are with a fancy drinker but prefer the simpler things. Prices are fair, but become great when you factor in how NICE the cocktails are. Fab stuff!

Great cocktails, friendly knowledgeable staff and who can forget the ping pong table in the downstairs snug. Attracting a mixed crowd from young professionals to older couples on date night it is well worth a visit if you're in the neighborhood.

Really nice cocktails and great bar service. All the bartenders and mixologists were very skilled and their customer service was excellent. One small negative is that it tends to get a little hot/stuffy if the place is really packed, but apart from that, a very memorable experience.

Ace bar, pricey but you get what you pay for! They also played top notch music through the speakers and had many delicious drinks available. Will certainly be coming back!

There is a guy working here that looks like Jesus, lovely chap and great at what he does. Not cheap but not bad, great service and praise to the Jesus guy👍

Had my engagement party here and we booked out the downstairs section. Staff were great - drinks were nice and it seems to be ran by some awesome lads. Very friendly when serving us even though a few of my party had a few too many drinks and no issues whatsoever. Even the guy on the door was nice when we kept going out to smoke and chat in his ear constantly. Thanks for a lovely night for me to remember.

Great spot to grab a drink with friendly staff and a sizeable menu. The cocktails are relatively small but with the reasonable prices and happy hour offers this just gives you an excuse to try more 😍

The drinks are more expensive compared to other places but it is probably the best cocktail place in Lancaster. If this was in London or Manchester you'd pay much more.

On my second visit to tipple after a good experience, I was shocked at the poor and rude service I received from one of the bar staff. First, I asked if there were any drinks deals available to which the response was “no, if you’re looking for a cheap cocktail you may want to try somewhere else, but I can assure you the money is worth it.” Then, the bar man overheard a conversation with my friend about how I enjoy a certain cocktail that wasn’t on the menu. The member of staff whilst making the other drink asked which one it was, I stated it, to which he replied “if you like that cocktail love then you really don’t belong here.” It made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome, but as a friend had already ordered his drink we had to remain there. Then, I ordered an El Presidente, one of my other favourites that I have had at numerous other cocktail bars. The member of staff spilt the first attempt across the whole bar and proceeded to make it again. It was very unpleasant tasting compared to the drinks of my other friends, with lacking alcohol measures (which my other friend noticed as she works in a bar herself). It was not a good take on this normally enjoyable drink. We will not be returning.
