Tim's Bistro in Southampton

Great selection of fish to choose from. Young friendly and engaging front of house team. Had a very enjoyable lunch and look forward to returning. Many thanks ‘Tim’

1st but definitely not the last visit. Loved everything about Tim's Bistro. Food was outstanding wine was perfect and the staff are so friendly. We both love seafood and this was the best we've had for a long time, scallops cooked to perfection and the skate was as good but the chocolate salted tart with ice cream was to die for.

For the second year in the row, we have been to Tim's Bistro for informal Christmas lunch. The service is great and the food is superb. Thank you very much, we will be back again!

Went to Tim's which have been to many times. As normal greeted with a smile and warm welcome. I chose the rump steak for lunch and as per normal could not fault it, tender and cooked just how I like it. The front of house were great as ever and Tim popped out for a chat. Just love this cosy great firm favourite of mine in Southampton.

This place is a fantastic seafood restaurant hidden among the dross of fast food chains. A real Diamond if you care to visit and we'll be back for sure. My Crayfish and Smoked Salmon cocktail was really well presented and very tasty. A nice blackboard of seasonal fish to choose from; we had the Salmon with Mackerel sauce and the Cod. The Staff are really polite and knowledgeable and Tim popped out to see if everything was ok. 5+++ stars from my family. Must try their meat dishes next time.

I thought the food was more like quality Restaurant rather than Bistro! It was very well cooked and presented. I love the Chef meeting us to see if we were happy with our meals - we all were!!

Tim's Bistro has to be one of the best restaurants in Southampton. The atmosphere is relaxed, casual and fun and the food is amazing! I've eaten here twice now and I honestly cannot wait to come back again. The Creme Brulee is life changing and has the power to solve all problems you are facing! Highly Recommend - but please do not take my table ;)

Just back from a fabulous celebration lunch. Tim’s Bistro has a lovely relaxing atmosphere. The fresh fish specials boards was vast. Our lunch was amazing, the sea bass was the best I think I have had and my husbands steak was cooked to perfection. The wine which was reasonably priced and staff were lovely. We were in Southampton a few days ago and needed lunch. After checking the online rating which was 4.8 with hundreds of reviews; so it seemed a good place to go. The venue was just ordinary, and the food was even more ordinary. The website/marketing hype is in overdrive, but the kitchen has some considerable way to go to catch up. I don't know how they can have achieved the rating that they did. We travel alot, both within UK and in Europe and tend to trust the ratings. Unfortunately this one was way off the mark. Its just a local cafe with ordinary food.

Stopped by here for a lunchtime sandwich. Great quality food. You know there’s someone in the kitchen who cares about food when even a sandwich is thoughtfully put together and presented beautifully. Lovely front of house staff and just a lovely ambience to the place.

Meant to try this place for ages, but unfortunately, I had to send my main back because too many of the ingredients were missing, leaving me with lots of the ones that I don't like much. They didn't seem too happy about refunding me that dish, but they should have told me that they were running out of fresh supplies in the first place, because I was brought a different dish than what I ordered, and simply didn't want it. They had been friendly but that changed, I guess that they can't take any criticism, even when they're in the wrong. From other comments, he just needs to cook the sausages more and the eggs and steaks less, without becoming angry when dealing with occasional complaints.

We booked a table at Tim’s before our visit to the theatre. We were seated quickly and greeted by all the staff which was nice.The menu for hot food looked delicious but we only wanted sandwiches so each chose a different one from the lunch menu. They were presented well with a small side salad and coleslaw (which was delicious) Unfortunately, the bread was stale and consequently the meal wasn’t enjoyable. No one checked on us during the meal so we didn’t mention it but all in all it was disappointing. Hopefully we can return one evening to try the hot food.

Very disappointed. Been twice before and it was brilliant . This time service very poor and food mediocre. Had to call waitress over after waiting twenty minutes to clear dirty plates . Such a shame as we were so looking forward to it .
