Tibshelf Fish Bar in Bolsover

Everytime I’ve eaten here I’ve been unwell following , don’t know whether it’s the cooking process or oil being used, but have ended up sick 🤢 Prices are extremely high & Staff aren’t very pleasant in my opinion apart from with what seems to be regulars or people they already know For me it’s not a nice meal/or a friendly environment. It’s not somewhere I would recommend & don’t ever since the few occasions I have tried. Frying squad in south Normanton is the best chippy, friendly chatty staff, reasonable prices, yummy food, varied menu and good quality. :)

Great local chippy. I always enjoy the food from here, cooked well and get plenty for your money.

I had fish that tasted in had been in dirty water chips were too well done some where black

Portion sizes are are the worst in the area, had a chicken kebab wrap,about 6 bits of chicken and 1kg of salad! Rip off

Very poor chips peas and gravy sausage Been there today 26/9/23 1230hrs won’t be going ever again the chips were warmed up and some still had the skins on and were cold also they are very expensive £14.50 for 2 chips peas and gravy sausage and 1 carton of gravey for the amount and quality very poor indeed

Only had sausage and chips. Large quantity for the regular/small portion. The chips were chunky and perfectly cooked - light to medium brown, and full of real potato. Chips rating 9/10 ( that's a challenge to get from me). The sausage was "as expected" and ok. I would call in again.

A bit slow service, but food very good

Slow and charged more than the items I go to. Food was ok when actually got it even though paid for more than I was given.

Used to be great but standards have dropped over the last year or so, service is quick and staff are friendly

15 minutes waiting for 3 bags of chips. Which wasn't too good. Hopefully they taste good.

Went here last night. Wouldn't cook my a fresh fish so I had Sausage and Chips instead. Safe to say her attitude stinks as well. Food was OK, can't complain but seriously needs to sort out there customer service.

Lovely little chippy, chips and gravy was delicious, gravy was thick, which is perfect for me, would recommend.

Worst chips I’ve ever had in my life, got home to find the chips were barely cooked, sloppy uncooked mush, gross.

What an awful place to buy chips from. Staff are deaf and have an attitude when asking for salt and vinegar. Chips are undercooked, sausage well what can I say. Maybe last night's leftovers as It certainly wasn't fresh. Asked for a piece of paper to but under the chip tray as she spilt gravy all down the outside of the tray. Any one would have thought I was asking for a pot of gold

Best chippy for miles. I had a mini fish n chips last night. Bigger than most chip shops would give if you asked for fish n chips. (Still got chips for lunch today.) Debbie manages an excellent, reliable and very clean establishment. Why choose to review now, after years of custom? Because son looked at the reviews last night and I don't believe the negative ones! And his treat for tea. £15 for 3 of us to eat, mine plus their food and there were leftovers. THANK YOU!

Gone very downhill chips undercooked..donner meat was like rubber and over priced and 7 pound for 1 tray of meat which wouldn't of filled a pitta bread will not be going again waste of money.

Whent for pie and chips arrogant rude staff food not very good would not recommend and over priced being polite to your customers is a priority

I asked fot teatime special.. £5 fish chips and mushy peas.. Got xtra peas and large sausage.. Was charged £12??? Rip off and weren't that good.. People that give 5.stars are you going to same chippy peas where all juice no many peas and the chips where scrappy

My husband has just been to this fish shop, he got one fish and chips 2 cartons of peas and 1 sausage and was charged £12.00 definitely will not be going back here tk about rip off, they weren't even that nice

Kind and friendly staff who always speak to my dog when I visit which is really nice, quality service and food. A smile makes all the difference especially if you're not feeling great and as I've recently had a tough time as I lost my husband and Soulmate it means even more as I can go days without seeing anyone! We used to go in the chippy together so it means even more to have a friendly greeting when I visit. Very happy x

Chips not cooked long enough..,always have to wait for food to cook...

Asked for large cod, what I got was barely a small cod and barely cooked at that. All wrapped up without me seeing, even the large chips weren't what I'd expected, £1.0 each for small mushy peas and gravy, not good .
