Tia Rosa in Islington

Esto fue tan bueno, al igual que la comida en Portugal con un gran equipo sirviéndolo. Realmente necesitaba esta comida, me encantaron los entrantes variados y el Bife á Portuguesa. No puedo esperar para volver y probar algunos platos más. Obrigado Paulo

Acabamos de tomar entrantes, pero con sardinas, calamares y bolas de bacalao estaba delicioso. Personal muy amable. Capaz de sentarse afuera. El personal parecía portugués.

Comi pato assado com arroz de cabidela, cinco estrelas , veio para a mesa azeitonas ,queijo fresco ,pão, uma garrafa de 1,5lt de agua ,duas canecas de imperial, meio pato uma dose de arroz de cabidela, o pato trazia no tacho de barro batata assada,eo arroz dame a parcer que levava ovo por cim e foi ao forno ,bem só tenho a dizer que estava um espectáculo, veio também uma salada de rocula e tomate ,dose muito bem aviada no meu parcer na qualidade e quantidade ideal ,nada sobrou eramos duas pessoas que comem bem principalmente quando está tudo como estava ,sobremesa uma farofa da tia rosa para os dois (o doce e que para mim até foi demais ,mas marchou tudo) bem já não foi a primeira vez que visitei o local ,espero que continuem com o mesmo princípio, tanto na qualidade como na quantidade, pois pode ser muito par uns mas para mim (eu e a minha esposa) está na quantidade certa . Um só senão a disposdas mesas não e a melhor pois ao lado da nossa mesa estava outra mas atravessada que as senhoras ao estarem a conviver ao abanar a cabeça pois tinha cabelos comprimidos que estava sempre a passar dum lado para o outro ,pois aquela disposição da mesa não e a mais adequada, está situação depois ha saida transmite ao chefe de sala que segundo parece era o dono ,quanto ao resto nada a dizer ,ha paguei pela refeição 48,65 euros não se pode dizer que e barato mas atendendo a qualidade e Quantidade não achei caro. Recomendo e concerteza vou voltar .

Fuimos allí con un grupo de amigos después de que los portugueses entre nosotros habían mirado el menú. No defrauda un bocado. La comida es deliciosa, auténtica, abundante y no es cara. El vino es genial también, y el servicio muy amable. Volvería cualquier día.

Great food. Very authentic. The tapas dishes are not stingy. My friend had great looking sardines and a beautiful salad while I enjoyed the delicious fish soup and roast veggies. Had some good house wine and we each paid just under £30 each. Good service. Highly recommended 👍

Excellent little find! My partner is Portuguese, so knows what traditional food is like, and this place was spot on. Reminded him of home. Excellent choice, lovely food and service. Definitely worth a visit 10/10

What a gem! Delicious, authentic Portuguese food, overflowing with flavour. Friendly service and an interesting chat with the owner about his roots in Portugal made this a night to remember for my husband & I. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Portuguese through and through. Great service and excellent food. Nothing too fancy or complicated just well cooked food as you would get in Portugal. The wine selection was good with a number available in half bottles.

Called in here by chance, but were lucky enough to be squeezed in. Food was excellent as was the service. Also meal portions were plentiful and well valued for London. Will be visiting again on our next visit to London.

We were staying at the Travelodge and looked around the area for something to eat for dinner. We just happened to find Tia Rosa. There were three of us and when the food arrived the portions were so large we thought we had over ordered. The dish I remember most was the bean stew it was delicious. We are all vegetarian but we had no difficulty finding enough vegetarian dishes to choose from. In the end we managed to eat 95% of the food because it was so good. The dishes were tapas size but very generous. Our waiter was lovely and very kind and helpful. If I were in the area again I would come back here like a shot.

We had our end of year party at this Portuguese restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious and the portions were generous to full us all up. Friendly staff with variety choices manu and good service. But shockingly I was charged £2.25 for a cup of hot water. The waiter said because I asked for a slice of lemon so would be a lemon tea which was a real rip off, especially not being informed beforehand that hot water with a slice of lemon is chargeable.

We had a lovely authentic Portuguese meal here- we stumbled upon this place randomly and gave it a try- what a lovely family run restaurant. We had the chicken and chips/salad and the bean stew, with absolutely delicious corn bread to start. Felt totally authentic and heathy food. Lots of seafood options. Spotlessly clean. Felt like we were in Lisbon! Wonderful- give it a try

5 out of 5 - I've been trying to find this page to leave a review as my mind still has really fond memories of this restaurant. The ambiance was lovely, a really hidden gem. An attentive server, phenomenal sangria and food that I still salivate over. My brother and I thoroughly enjoyed our food (left more than a little tipsy because of the sangria) but this hidden gem near St Pancras Station will stay with me fondly. I will most definitely be back as it was worth every penny

A real find! A small Portuguese restaurant where the food is cooked to order and the owner and the young waiter provide excellent service. Portions are generous. We couldn’t fault the food we had. A pity we don’t live in London!

Happened upon this unassuming restaurant on the way to our hotel from Kings Cross Station. It looked nice and inviting, with tables in the sun but also parasols for shade if you prefer. The server was immediately friendly, offering recommendations on wine. Another table was just finishing off their meal and on hearing them say that the prawns were the “best they’d had in years”, we had to order them. They weren’t wrong! Juicy, meaty king prawns in shell with an amazing broth like sauce. We ordered 4 tapas dishes between two as a light lunch and we left very full and very happy. The portions for tapas are generous and the price incredibly reasonable. £36 for the dishes and an alcoholic drink each! In central London I know this is great value for money. I have already recommended to friends and family who visit London frequently and I will surely return on future visits. The sunny weather and authentic food made it seem like we were abroad on a Mediterranean holiday.

Nice enough place but very quiet when I visited about 7pm on a Friday and food took a little while to arrive. Wasn’t expensive and the food and beer were good. Big portions. We walked past it about 10:30 and it seemed a lot busier and had a bit of atmosphere.

Op zich prima, maar restaurant is klein en mag wel wat opfrissen. Ook allemaal kleine vliegjes. Mijn vlees was lekker maar alleen maar aardappeltjes erbij. Had ook graag wat groente gezien. Middelmatig dus, maar ook niet slecht.

The food is delicious and well prepared . Marvelous meat and cheese. The ‘caldo verde’ is delicious. Nice and friendly service.

Had an absolutely fabulous experience at this authentic Portuguese restaurant in the hidden heart of King’s Cross. The meal was absolutely delicious, with large portions and it was lovely to get a chance to speak to the owner Paulo and the server Tiago. As you can see from the pictures I couldn’t resist. This is a family run restaurant with the cutest set up and just what the doctor ordered for a wonderful evening! Would highly recommend the BACALHAU À LAGAREIRO, the rich flavours and textures leave you feeling warm and the authenticity makes it feel personalised to your soul.
