I've stayed in this hotel intermittently over the last year, just to clarify I'm staying for work. I prefer to stay in the Cathedral Premier inn as it's slightly more centralised for shopping, amenities etc. The hotel is great, however if your looking at booking right now there are substantial works going on to upgrade the hotel. Parking - if your driving - is quite expensive so bear that in mind. Facilities (I'm staying on a new updated room) are good, however if you want to hide your undies there are no drawers or closed wardrobes. (See photo) Staff and service generally have been great. However - I came down for breakfast my first morning this trip and asked to take out some pastries (I'm a busy guy, I need to get to work, also I don't tend to eat at 7am) but I was told by a male staff member (who was a little rude, if I'm honest) 'we don't do that here'. As I stay in Premier Inns every month for work I found that a little weird as staying in their hotels I've been either given paper bags to take pastries up to provided takeout boxes to take hot food to work. Long story short, on returning to the hotel I asked the shift manager if that was the case at this hotel - I was told unequivocally 'no' and I was also provided with paper takeout bags for my next breakfast and also given a free drink with my evening meal. Overall a win, but just be aware of a grumpy staff member says you can't do something at breakfast? If you've paid for it? You totally can. Finally (promis I'll shut up) if you pre-pay a meal deal, at this specific restaurant it's very limited as to menu plus there are hefty additions if you want, say, a steak etc. I stay regularly at the Cathedral quarter hotel which, the associated restaurant, Bar & Block has a more extensive menu with extras either free or at a cheaper price. Oh also be aware the kitchen is usually closed between 3 and 5pm.

One thing this restaurant has in its favour is that it is probably the only sit-down eatery in the entire area. With the Titanic Belfast attraction only a few minutes walk away, the SSE Arena next door, and other hotels nearby, there are always lots of people around, so you would expect a lot more choices for food and drink. Sadly, that is not the case. Since I was staying in the Premier Inn Belfast Titanic Quarter, I had to sample the restaurant at least once. I'm not interested in breakfast as I find it overpriced and too much hassle - waiter service for a hot breakfast is far too drawn-out and time-consuming. But for dinner, it was fine. Contrary to some of the reviews here, I found the food actually quite good, and a vast improvement on my previous exeriences at Thyme restaurants, as my numerous reviews on this platform will no doubt testify. Food wise, there isn't anything remotely new or interesting on the menu (see pictures) - just the usual suspects: burgers, steaks, pie, fish & chips, curry, pizza etc. I opted for the barbecue glazed chicken wings to start and the 8oz sirloin with skin-on fries, which was surprisingly good. It was served with lovely crisp mushrooms and quite a decent peppercorn sauce. Service was a little slow, with inordinately long waits for drinks and between courses, and then even getting the bill at the end. I'm not sure why. It wasn't busy, and the restuarant had pretty much emptied out by the time I got there. But that is a minor consideration. My only other gripe is that the air condititioning was a little on the cold side. The full length windows really absorb sunlight during the day, but when evening draws in, it gets really chilly. I was on the verge of shivering, which tempered the entire experience somewhat.

Opted for the dinner/breakfast deal in hotel at nearly £50 for 2 which seemed good value and was convenient for us not knowing area. Dinner was a little disappointing as a lot of the dishes were unavailable/sold out due to a concert nearby. I feel that a place like this should have taken this into account, my husband having to pay extra to get what he wanted.Breakfast was okay with quite a wide range of choice, not expensive considering you are paying hotel prices.

One of the most disappointing Premier Inn restaurants visited. The service was slow and unhelpful and the quality of the food was really substandard for a PI. Have eaten here many of times over the last few years and have seen the standard of service go from quite good to abysmal with me actually walking out of the restaurant after half an hour of not being looked at by the serving staff. I was shown to my table and then ignored, I went to the bar and got my own drink after 15mins and finally walked out after trying to order food and was told by the waitress that she was busy. It is a first for me walking out but there is a Mace round the corner that serves sandwiches etc so this maybe an option for you but I will certainly never eat here again!

She did check and we were hastily ejected from our seats and reseated us, making to feel rather unpleasant. The seats we were ejected from were never used the whole time we were there. It didn't end here. When she asked if we wanted any food, my friend said he would like something light. She came with some menus and let us decide on something. She took that long to come back to us that by the time she came back, she asked well... We both said we haven't got the time anymore as we have to leave soon. At that, she snatched the menus from us and walked off in a foul mood. A truly awful experience.

I called into Thyme restaurant in May 2015 with my hubby for a quick bite before the Clarkson; Hammond & May show at the Odyssey. When we first walked in there was a "restaurant closed" sign but some people were lifting menus & sitting down around the window seats. I tried to follow suit but just as I found a lovely secluded table a member of staff showed up & we were escorted to a table in the main restaurant (no windows). The restaurant didn't take long to fill up & the bar at the front had a really lively atmosphere.I ordered a Smoky Full House Hot Dog (£10.25) & my hubby got a Bacon & Cheese Rarebit Burger (£11.25). The hot dog was fine. My stomach hurt a little afterwards but I think that was due to the mustard & maybe also because it was a very generous serving that I demolished quite quickly.Kellyann was the lovely member of staff who looked after us for the duration. She chatted away to us about our impending date with Clarkson & Co & kept checking to make sure everything was ok.Our bill for two meals/soft drinks totalled £26.60 which was ok value. I would definitely call in again the next time I have tickets for the Odyssey & would recommend Thyme for a meal & drinks.

Chose this venue (we were not Premier Inn guests) for convenience as we were attending an event in The Odyssey. We didn't have a booking as we had been told via Premier Inn twitter account the restaurant don't take bookings when there is an event on in The Odyssey, it's first come first served, only to be told when we got there that we could have made a booking (#crossedwires). The restaurant opened at 5pm, we arrived approx 5.15-5.30pm. Restaurant layout is not wonderful, our party of 6 were tucked away in a corner facing the door into the kitchen. Can't fault the staff for friendliness but that's about it. Service was average from being seated to taking our order. Menu choice was also average though pricing was decent. Being one of the first tables to place an order we were disappointed (to say the least) when the child in our party who had ordered pizza was told (approx 15-20 mins after ordering) that the kitchen had run out of pizza bases. Seriously??? The kitchen hadn't even been open an hour. Needless to say the child ended up with a meal that she did not enjoy because (a)it was a poor substitute for what she wanted and (b)it was poor quality. Neither did she receive the 'free' ice cream she was promised for the inconvenience. Another member of our party ordered a 'plain' burger, only for it to arrive complete with lettuce, tomato, gherkin, half a red onion (yes really) and sauce, never mind the fact that the actual burger was cold. The fries (on all other meals) were quite hard and the overall temperature of the food was just luke warm. Had we not been going to the show in The Odyssey we would have made the staff aware of our issues but due to time not being on our side we simply paid our bill and left.Don't think we will be revisiting. :(

Our first night at the Titanic Quarter Premier Inn, and for ease decided to eat within Thyme. Whilst the staff were pleasant enough, the meal choices we desired were unavailable. So after making alternative choices, and ordering drinks, we sat and waited, and waited. The drink order took ages in being delivered to our table. Out of the three of us, just my Mother and I chose to eat. Our secondary meal choices were okay. Following desserts, we looked forward to a lovely Latte coffee, which we were told was not available. We were then presented with a bill, a little while later, a further bill arrived at the table saying the tea had been forgotten. Whilst I did not take this up with he restaurant Manager, I feel the tea should have been done as a complimentary offer in respect of the poor selection of food available and incorrect bill making up.

We arrived at the hotel late and they were closing and they were happy to serve us, which was fabulous as there was nothing else around. Thank you.

This is a standard restaurant offering the usual cuisine but in better comfort than most of it's competitors. Everything is served fresh and hot. Staff are pleasant and helpful

Stopped for breakfast on the way to City Airport to pick up a family member. Prompt, efficient, and helpful service throughout. Had to pay for parking which was disappointing. It was not as good as other Premier Inn breakfasts with watery porridge, only skimmed milk and the hot breakfast not cooked to order.

Both for breakfasts and meals the food is warm, tasty and fresh and the staff are so pleasent and helpfull. Great value for money and in comparrison to some other places in the city, food is more superior.

We were looking for somewhere to grab something quick before driving on, after visiting the Titanic.I know the Premier Inn and indeed the Thyme restaurant as a chain I've eaten in before. As usual the food was tasty, well portioned and great value. The staff were very friendly too.

Stayed here 31/10/13 booked a table in the restaurant in advance but when we arrived there was no booking. It was very quiet in the restaurant so getting a table proved not to be a problem. We opted for the 2 course deal one having the starter the other the desert. The starter came incomplete and we had to go and find a member of staff when the desert did not arrive at all. When we went to pay the bill we were overcharged the manager stated " that is the way the till works out the price", when we showed him the prices on the menu he again said " that is the way the till works it out" I would strongly advise that as a visitor you eat elsewhere the managers attitude was awful. I stay in the Premier Inn all over the UK at least 10 times a year, never having a problemuntil now,

I was critical of the The Chester for its many young barmen who had no customer service. I was therefore pleased to see an older bar person in charge, who was so hard working actually obsessive cleaning. However this was short lived as this person / woman was not friendly actually everything she was asked for was a chore, surely her job I went tonight because I had really bad news and was trying to lift myself. Instead I was depressed by sour puss and unacceptable service. Sorry but do you not know the reason why people go out is to lift themselves.? We left and went to the always excellent Lansdowne.. Chester please learn make people need to be felt good and invited. My advice get rid of the OCD cleaner and invest in someone who is a professional person engaged in making the experience a pleasant nite out. Won't be back until staff changed Will

When will Costa ever get it right? Cafe Latte is NOT FLAT WHITE!! Flat White is a small non frothy double expresso coffee with just double the amount of milk to coffee. If I wanted a mainly milk coffee I would ask for a Latte or a Cappuccino.

We ate in this restaurant in the Hilton before going to a concert in the Waterfront Hall next door. We were there around 5.30 and were the only people in at that time. Some background music but little atmosphere. The food was tasty - we had starters and main courses - goats cheese and prawn cocktail and a cheeseburger and chicken. Service was slow for a pre theatre menu. We had to ask for the dessert to be rushed to be in time for the concert. All in all it was satisfactory but not an inviting experience.

This place has gone to the dogs. They also reduced the quantity/size of goujons. Goujon meal tonight was over £10 which is insane. Staff still nice. Management decisions.
