We didn't have anything to eat but this pub has recently had a full refit and it looks fantastic. Lovely staff and the beer was good.

Recent refurb, looking good, decent pint and atmosphere. Will try food next time we're over that way.

Visited in June as we have just moved to the area. Friendly staff and wonderfull food. I had a haloomi and sweet chili sauce cibatta, hubby had ham egg and chips. Both were nicely presented with portion size just right. everything we needed was brought to the table before the meal which arrived very quickly. Can't recommend them highly enough and will be making this our new local.

I live across the road from this great pub, have just had Sunday lunch in here for the first time and I have to say, I absolutely loved it, the food is fresh, made to order and tastes amazing. Totally looking forward to next Sunday. Love you guys.

Since Joe and his wife Sam took over the pub and started doing light snacks hand cut chip cobs which are excellent 😀 tasting as is all the food Sam produced and is getting very popular with the locals and people popping in as well keep up the good work Joe and Sam best wishes spanner cheers everyone 👍

A very xenophobic place, wouldn’t accept my friends ID as it was polish, yet still stated her DOB and was at a legal age to drink there

Nice pub in the town centre of Ripley. Staff are always welcoming and beer is reasonably priced with a decent selection on offer.

It was the worst. Barmaid doing a crossword and us. Such a shame. 4yrs ago it was the hub of ripley

The place needs a overall, the toilets are really grim they need refurbishing. You can smell the urinal from the bar..

Supposed to wait for staff to take orders at the table but they only seem to take orders from the bar so you sit down and get ignored

First visit to Thorn Tree and was very impressed with the pub. The landlord was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely return to try the food.

Still a great range of ales, but the manager seems to think he can charge what he likes. £4.50 for a pint of green devil is just one example. Have we moved to greater London or something?

My friend is the landlady there, and ur us a very welcoming place, with a quiz in Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and a bsnd or karaoke on Fridays or Saturdays

New landlady. Beer expensive compared to other venues locally.

Fortunately arrived after the live band had finished. Music usually too loud, of poor quality and pub doesn't really have good acoustics. However, the main reason for all going here is the beer. Supposed to be hand drawn real ale but it was so lively it took ages to settle down and clear and as always was not a full glass of liquid - a huge head due to it not being poured properly. Served in a rush and when she requested the money to pay for the beer , we did not get a please or a thank you.

Very long wait for food in a mostly empty pub but once arrived the food was really nice

Had to wait over an hour for food, and was told by lady with dark hair "it wont be long we are busy". That woukd have been ok if there hadnt only been 4 people in when we ordered. When our meal finally came it was of reasonable quality however 4th member of party still had to wait a further 15 mins for his to arrive. The lady behind the bar with the blonde hair was lovely and couldnt apologise enough. She even offered to clean up the mess from our great niece eating when my nephew asked for a brush.

Really disappointed with the service we received at the Thorntree today. We put extra on our parking just to go and grab some lunch, ordered our drinks and was told at the time that there was a thirty minute wait for food. Nearly an hour later the waitress after bringing out one couples food came to us saying that they'd only just got to our order and was starting it now. The place wasn't really that busy when we first got there and food wasn't being brought out until just before the hour waiting. We opted for a refund and left really cross and won't be returning

Excellent place, good variety of beers and ciders and welcoming staff.

The food and drinks are very good and well priced. Staff are friendly and helpful. Service is a little slow but that is due to all the food being cooked from fresh. One of my hangups is dogs inside a eating establishment. I've been in the place 5 mins today and there are dogs fighting indoors and barking, irresponsible owners this is the reason for my 4 stars

I was playing in a band, the staff from top to bottom were nice though.

Would like see a board with music acts who are to visit in the future. Looked on your website and on the "coming events" board but nothing on. A disappointment.

Good local pub with a fine selection of beers. Average food at a reasonable price. Was a 5 star in my opinion but not quite as good recently. Still a good pub, but no longer the stand out choice it Ripley.

Usual menu and service for this type of pub chain. Went as children's play area quire large inside but of poor quality unless you like feeding grab machines.
