Mundy Arms, Heanor in Amber Valley

Fantastic meal with my family. We were greeted politely and shown to our table, the menu had lots of tasty options and the drinks arrived promptly. All the staff were friendly, efficient and courteous. A special mention for Tracey, who went above and beyond to make sure we were all happy. We will definitely be visiting again.

Food vile. Congealed, greasy and barely even hot. Not worth £3 never mind £30. Poor service. Didn’t receive everything ordered at the table.

Simple a lovely place for food and drink

As a customer Service manager myself, excellent service isn't about the big things, it's the little things. Lorraine today (31/1/25) excelled and did exactly that, took care of little things, like spotting a slightly larger table for us when one cleared so we had more room for the high chair, moved our baby bag over for us. That's what makes excellent service. If you do "staff member of the month" or anything similar, Lorraine throughly deserves it! Thank you!

The food was mediocre tonight but fast out which was good on a busy night, went to bar and totally got ignored by bar staff walking by and serving whoever they came across first which was wrong then placed pudding order and had to wait 40 minutes for a piece of cake and ice cream no apologies for it being on hold for some reason. The young lad behind the bar was totally clueless perhaps needs more training.

Called in today had the Christmas dinner it was disgusting it was round pieces of turkey with a brown rind around it and no taste at all . Complete waste of money Avoid dissatisfied customer.

Popped in for a simple Sunday lunch and quite happily cleaned the plate. Carrots were very soft and the serve time roast on a Sunday was a bit slow (but they work off a full menu) that's all I can moan about. Atmosphere was very relaxed and peaceful. Value is great with £/quality/quantity a winner. I didn't take a great deal of notice about accessibility for disabled but the area seemed to flow nicely but some areas might be tricky. Overall I would recommend

first time visit, arrived 1:30pm on wednesday, plenty of tables available. we ordered curry with drink special only £8. roasted chicken, fish cake and apple and berry crumbles with custard. the pub is also doing two meals under £13 from monday to thursday. all meals were tasty.

The wait time is absolutely disgusting waited 1 hour for 1 breakfast wrap and 1 full English absolutely shocking never returning

It wasn't terrible but the food was not nice i struggle to eat it and i don't struggle to eat normally it was also busy and when we went some kid was hanging around were we were sitting for some reason his parents were somewhere else in the pub so won't be going there again as my kids go to school when they are meant to!

The pub looks nice inside and out. Parking wasn't a problem either - and I went on a Saturday night around 6pm. The service staff were polite and helpful, even kindly offering deals on drinks I wasn't aware of. It was very noisy but expected at that time of night with the number of families there. The biggest disappointment was the quality of the food. It just tasted bland. For example the burger and bun gave the impression of a store brought home cooked version.

We visited The Mundy Arms for a family Sunday lunch. It was a quality experience. The food was very nice and the deal was great. A roast dinner and a drink for a tenner. You can't beat that for sure. Staff were also very helpful.

Gone downhill A LOT since I last visited. Waited 40 mins for our meal, and it was virtually empty. The floors were covered with food. There were dirty pots on 5 tables. Staff were to busy chatting from what I can see to clear up. I had to ask for our table to be wiped on arrival as it was dirty. Food arrived but wasn't hot... very disappointed. If I am honest, I could wait to get out!

We are regular visitors for a late lunch at the Mundy Arms. We remain regular customers due to the consistency of the food quality. We rarely book and are always accommodated with a table. I would advise booking if you want to guarantee a table of your choice. Staff are friendly and service is prompt. Tracey in particular remembers our usual drinks. It is not often that I bother with reviews but it is credit well earned.

Complete opposite to my last visit, very disappointing, food was bland, salmon supposed to be grilled but it was just microwaved, salad was all lettuce and jacket potato not the best. Staff were miserable, nobody even asked how our meal was. It's so different to last time that I'm wondering if it's under new management?

What a pleasant lunch me and my friend had today. I have to give 10 stars for the welcoming and attention from your staff, who couldn't do enough. The amount of different dishes on the menu was great, however, it was hard to choose because they all sounded delicious. I chose Lamb Kima and it was! There was plenty and it was well presented. In fact, it could have been a sharing plate. I was too full to eat dessert.

Separated into an adults only bar and kid friendly restaurant. Busy times it's a wait to be seated affair, when not busy your can just sit anywhere. Clearly signed whichever it is. Staff are friendly and helpful. Cosy place. Usually busy though. Edit : Used to be a sports pub, thankfully now it isn't. The atmosphere is waaaaay better 👌

Came here for my 40th birthday having visited the week previously. Everything was cooked to perfection, fresh salad and the steak was lovely. My compliments to the chef and bar staff for providing such a fantastic experience.

Went today for Sunday dinner with my family. I certainly won’t be taking them there again. It was truly awful. The vegetables were almost raw, and I’m not convinced it was fresh mashed potato, I suspect it was dried mash. It was served in a strange shaped lump on the plate. The tiny, tiny amount of gravy, which came in the smallest gravy boat I’ve seen, didn’t even wet the bottom of the plate. But the meat was the worst part. We all had the beef. I’ve never had such tough beef in my life. Had it been sliced the wrong way? Not only was it unchewable - it was uncuttable too. My husband wanted to ask for a serrated steak knife, just to cut the stuff. On top of that, our chosen pudding was off the menu. An awful experience. I’ll never forget that roast beef, but for all the wrong reasons! Don’t bother.

Love this place. The staff are all absolutely fab and always accommodate to our needs as a family of 7. Food and drinks are spot on and the prices are great. The place is clean and tidy too. A big thanks to Tracey and the team for making our visit’s enjoyable and relaxed 😎

My go to place for good beer, good food and a friendly welcoming aty

Myself, friends and family have been coming to the Mundy Arms for years. One reason for this is because the staff are excellent, especially Gina. She is an absolute star who goes above and beyond to make your time at the Mundys pleasant and enjoyable. She is always ready to help you, with her lovely smile and wicked sense of humour. Even outside of work hours the help never stops as her fantastic cakes bear witness to that. Gina, you are one very special lady and a credit to the Mundys.

We go here most weeks, the staff are always friendly. Special mention to Tracey.

I've been here quite a few times but after Saturdays visit I won't be visiting again any time soon the meal both me and my husband had was horrible very dry gammon and I had the katsu banquet to much salt and pepper seasoning on the chicken and curry sauce still stone cold had to send it back put me right off
