Food was the worst I have had in 10 years in a restaurant We eat in Indian Bangladeshi all over the country but this is definitely the worst i have had just didn’t want to eat it they took the food away and didn’t even ask why I hadn’t eaten it 🤔

Fantastic food and friendly service. Great atmosphere, convenient location after the RSC and good value. The whole family enjoyed the meal!

Absolutely brilliant. We were greeted by really friendly waiters. They were really accommodating and welcoming. The food was fantastic. The prices are excellent for the location which is just a short walk away from the river. Nice ambience and music. Will definitely be back! Keep it up

We felt we were in the competent hands of professional restaurateurs. Being from Bradford and an occasional visitor to India, I feel I know a bit about Indian food. This experience was an eye-opener for me though. From the tamarind chutney with 17 ingredients through the peanut butter chicken to the fruitella lamb, vegetable coriander and sticky coconut rice, it was a delightful journey of the taste buds! The staff were friendly and good-humoured and above all professional. Marvellous!

Speedy service and excellent value for money for travellers who want to enjoy a good quality meal within walking distance of the RSC. We chose the thali, costing £49.95 for two people, and loved being able to dip into smaller portions of several dishes without having to buy full-sized versions to sample them. This is a very functional dining experience, rather than a place to eat leisurely and soak up the atmosphere, but it was perfect for us as we were able to walk in off the street without booking ahead and get seated straight away.

I had the best Balti I've had the pleasure to eat,it beats the baltis of Birmingham by far,the staff were very attentive to out needs,we will be going back for more,I'm sorry to say I'm out of the delivery area,would recommend 100%.

OH MY LIFE !! THE FOOD HERE IS FANTASTIC!! We went after the theatre 🎭 at 10pm - I had a tandoori deluxe hubby had chicken jalfrezi both superb nans to die for. We could have gone back for lunch today and for the rest of the week. We love our curries - who doesn’t - and this was SUPERB FIVE STARS 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟

A disappointing takeaway. At £15+ a main course, both curries we ordered were extremely runny and very salty. Mains were 1x Lamb bhuna and 1x King prawn chilli masala. I have never experienced such watery curries. Our order to the value of £75 did not come with complementary popadoms which would have been a nice touch, that so many other establishments do so. The quality of the food received did not match the price tag.

Came with my mum. She had a mixed grill and I had a Chicken Tikka Massala. Absolutely delicious. Everything was tasty, looked great, and was very obviously freshly made. The service was also outstanding with very attentive and friendly staff. Was also happy with the wait time despite it being rather busy when we arrived. More than reasonable. Both me and my mum left extremely satisfied and I informed my dad about the venue as well. We will return.

We had lovely family day out to Stratford-upon-Avon, it’s was amazing hot sunny day and as much we enjoyed day out we pop in to lovely Thespian Indian restaurant, as always food and service 5 stars, my children’s enjoyed there meal, Thank you to staff for very kind to my children’s for extra chocolate, hopefully see you soon again 😊😊😊

Much quicker than expected delivery, polite delivery driver, fresh piping hot food - absolutely delicious.

Very disappointing dinner on our first night in Stratford upon Avon . Staff weren’t very welcoming . Seemed preoccupied with UBER eats rather than guests in the restaurant . Starter took over an hour to arrive and was cold so had to send back . However we were still charged ! Main was mediocre . Chicken tikka starter on no sizzle plate . No hot plate to keep food warm as in usual Indian restaurants. Hot towels at end of meal arrived with a man with a jug of hot water ! Would not recommend .

Ate here last night. TA has varying reviews so we thought we'd make up our own minds. Starters were ok but main courses were delicious. Naan bread was THE best. The younger server needs a little big of training but overall a good meal and experience. We will return

Best curry we’ve had in a long time. Forgot to order rice, called them up to add it to the order and they sorted it out no problem. Would definitely recommend

Just had a wonderful meal here. Started with mixed tandoori and pink salmon tikka followed by garlic chilli chicken masala and chicken passanda. Excellent flavours and so tender and succulent. Great service and we even managed a chat with the chef who explained his new menu ideas and fusions of flavours. This restaurant is a must visit. Great time to visit as I believe it gets so busy during the summer.

Truely shocking , appalling service , no ambience. All the food tasted the same and poorly served. This has got to be the worst Indian in Stratford

Central in location, opposite the RSC Theatre. This is a traditional Indian restaurant. Very friendly staff with great tasty food. I read that the inside is a little tired, and the portions are small,both statements are true, However, don't be put off by that. It is good value for money, tasty food served by nice people!

The food was way overpriced for the quality and quantity. We have ordered 2 curries and shashlik with rice and naan on the side and 3 starters and paid £78! We expected a lot more meat within the sauce for this price but disappointingly there weren’t much. The samosas were cold and one was undercooked and still cold inside, naan bread was very sweet and impacted the taste of the curry…unfortunately very disappointing experience :(

Delicious hot food. Highly recommend the Dhanzak.

We had an excellent meal here. Staff were efficient, polite and caring from the minute we entered to the minute we left, really great service from all the members of staff and were so polite. The food was delicious, hot, full off flavour and lots of options to choose from, good portion sizes as well. Drinks were good, again good selection and really quick service on drinks. All in all, great and would return next time we visit!

Visiting friends in Stratford and they chose this restaurant. There were 4 of us but I am reviewing just for my food and my husband's. Restaurant lacked warmth and atmosphere, poppadoms were stacked in a warmer and didn't appear fresh, my chicken chat was ok but only warm not hot, my chicken tikka sagwala was tasty but again not hot. Husband's sheek kebab lacked flavour didn't come out hot and sizzling as in our normal Indian restaurant, his korai was also lacking and didn't come out in the normal bowl. For all 4 of us the plates were brought out with the main dish already on, plates weren't hot so neither was food. What if we'd wanted to share our mains? No heated plate warmers on the table either to keep sides warm. When we ordered drinks on arrival I asked if we could also have a jug of water for the table, we were brought 2 glasses of water - there were 4 of us! My husband said the toilet area wasn't very clean. All in all a disappointment and a restaurant we will not be revisiting.

We always have great food from thespians! Definitely our favourite Indian takeaway in Stratford-on-Avon! The drivers are very professional and very friendly! Great value for money too

Very disappointed Food was average, we wanted to share a starter and main. The starter was brought out with the main and we asked for it separate. The older male guy was very disappointed with this and huffed as he took the main back. The curry came out on a plate with rice and we wasn’t advised the rice came with the curry, so we had ordered an extra rice which we didn’t need. As we put our knives and forks down when we had finished, the older guy was straight over to tell us we need to leave as they were closing and opened the door for us to leave. We hadn’t finished our drinks and hadn’t paid at this point. We were very disappointed with the rudeness and had to leave our drinks as he made us feel really uncomfortable. The younger guys that work there are lovely, it’s just the older guy who is very rude. Will not be returning!!!!

Poor food not freshly cooked, the Koria chicken not cooked or served correctly. The Tandoori dishes served on plates from the Kitchen ( not in silver bowls of served sizzling)

Food was far too sweet and each dish tasted the same. Have eaten at this restaurant in n the past and was excellent but something has changed?

We visited Thespians before attending a production at the RSC. The restaurant is wonderfully clean, and had a lovely relaxed atmosphere. All the staff were attentive and kind. The food was fantastic, all our meals had incredible depth of flavour and were wonderful. Our experience made for a lovely start to our evening, and we will be returning!

The atmosphere and food were excellent. I had the Stuffed Pepper (vegetable) starter followed by the Saffron Fish with side order coriander nan. The Saffron Fish was extra special to me and had a wonderful flavour. I spoke to the Chef as I left and praised the meal - I could tell he is passionate about his work.

Arrived and asked if we could get takeaway food to which they said yes. When looking at the menu told to hurry and tapping their watch. Ordered to then be spoken to like a nuisance although told we were in time to order. When ordered then instructed to walk around outside for 10 minutes until the food was ready. Wishing I hadn't spent my money here...won't again.

We have recently moved to the area and this is our favourite place to come. The team are very friendly and the food is always spot on! If you’re visiting the area and looking for a decent curry we highly recommend Thespians as a consistently great place to dine ❤️ thank you, team Thespians 🥰

I was recommended by my son who comes here every time he comes to Stratford. The food was amazing and cooked to perfection. The best Madras I have eaten in years and served by friendly staff. We will return when next staying here.

Service was fantastic. We ordered the Raj dinner for 2 and I have to say it was the best curry we've had in years and no icky tummy the next day which is a first! Amazing service and food what more can you ask for

The amount of food I got was too small for the price I paid.

Usually I the food quality is good and the taste too but last delivered meal was not good at all. Lamb was dry and felt like precooked and gravy was added after, had no flavours at all. Disappointed.

Chicken tikka massala, never had one with such a loose sauce, not at all creamy. Naan breads burnt and cold. Both dishes half filled. French fries, I counted them, there were 27!!!!! CTM priced at 10.95 and no rice!!! Really poor, cold, no taste, NEVER Order again SHOCKINGLY BAD

I live on disability. This was an expensive treat for me and I was very upset. The 'De Lux' Shashlik was a dried out old piece of tiny chicken leg, there were two tiny lamb cubes and two tiny chicken cubes with two postage stamp sized pieces of soggy onion. No grilled tomato or onion and no coca cola for which I paid £1.15. I'm disgusted and angry and will be paying them a personal visit to sort this out. Disgusted and angry.

Great food with great service.

We have been customers of Thespians for many years and this was the worst meal ever. The kebab starters were tasteless and we ordered two portions of tandoori chicken and got what I think was chicken tikka. That was rubbery and tasteless too. Time to move on.

After we messed up the booking, the team at Thespians were really welcoming and made room for us. Food was lovely, service was great would definitely recommend.

We visited this restaurant during our first weekend break since lockdown. On arrival we were shown to our table which was crammed between 3 other tables, albeit there was hanging down plastic screening. The waiter took our order promptly and brought our drinks and pompadoms. He then came and took our order. As we sat waiting it soon became apparent that they were not adhering to social distancing or mask wearing. All the staff were wearing masks under chin and a few not at all. The staff kept cramming people in, and there was no mask wearing by patrons going to the toilets and neither was this challenged. After over an hour our starter arrived which was a sharing platter, which was not warm. At this we decide to leave, I did not feel safe in the environment and went and told the staff who charged us £25 for 2 drink, pompadoms and starter. Spoilt our evening as it’s not easy to get walk ins and we went without a meal.I had been to the restaurant some years back and thoroughly enjoyed but unfortunately it seems money goes before safety, understand it’s been tough but this was disappointing.

Visited with my parents great service, tasty food, definitely the best chicken tikka dansak I’ve ever tasted and I’ve traveled around Asia. Also the Balti was perfect. Very reasonable price as well for this neck of the woods. Great staff very friendly.

We had a great meal in the restaurant now that it's opened! There was an issue with one of our curries, it just didn't taste great. However the staff were very obliging and apologetic, given that it seemed like a genuine mistake and made a new version of it very promptly. Second time round it was delicious, and all of our other food was great too. We'll be back!
