We had a brilliant brunch here - lots of options on the menu and really tasty. They have all-day breakfasts, lots of Ukrainian dishes, options of grilled food and pizza. We were really happy with our cooked breakfasts. The teas and coffees were really good quality, too. Great cafe!

We went for lunch but chose from the breakfast menu, which is available all day. The food was really good. I had the Avocado breakfast with lovely salmon, salad, avocado, hash browns, toast and poached eggs, which were perfectly runny. One of our daughters substituted the Ukrainian hash browns for the regular ones, and I tried them too. Nice. I also pinched the slice of black pudding from other daughter and that was excellent.

Discovered this gem at the weekend and back again just 4 days later! Really cosy and relaxed atmosphere with super friendly staff, and the food is delicious and clearly incredibly fresh. We will certainly be returning!

Really nice little cafe. I ordered the spaghetti bolognese which was delicious. The staff were friendly and the place was clean, what more could you want?

Booked for dinner, received a confirmation email, arrived and the place was shut. Utter waste of time and left us with no reservation elsewhere. Poor management.

Looking for somewhere to while time in relaxing surroundings over a tea / coffee… ended up having breakfast! Great place… delicious food. Will be back again.

Lovely, modest hidden gem on Post House Wynd!!! Enjoyed there beautifully presented Aperol spritz cocktail yesterday. This delightful place has something for everyone with a good variation of alcoholic and soft drinks, barista style coffees plus yummy milkshakes for the kids.

Food says delivered but it has not been, waited a few mins to see if it had just been marked as delivered prematurely but still nothing and the place is not even 10 mins away. Such a shame because I know for a fact what I ordered is absolutely delicious as I’ve had it in the cafe and I didn’t want to give the quality a bad review but I don’t have a choice or it won’t let me submit my review. Very hungry and disappointed.

Just lovely...we will be back. Ukrainian breakfast went down a treat with hubby. I had scrambled eggs on toast with Ukrainian hash browns on the side.... YUMMY!.. Very nice coffee. Great service in a very nice atmosphere 👍Thoroughly recommend

Partner brought home a small breakfast and a sandwich. Breakfast had no mushrooms, no tomato. The bacon was fried within an inch of its life and falling apart like a dog had chewed it. The sausages dry and hashbrows falling to bits. Disappointed for the price. Wouldn’t have paid more than a fiver

For the price it needs to be fresh vegetables & Yorkshire puddings not frozen rubbish apart from that the mash, meat & gravy was nice.

Very small portion considering advertised as a large chicken dinner ,poor quality veg tastes like frozen warmed up. Very expensive for what looks like a child's portion

Comfortable peaceful atmosphere. Delicious and authentic borsht. Ukrainian breakfast was delicious, non greasy and served with a unique and flavourful hash brown. Flat white was lovely. We want to return every week.

The cafe is situated in a little quirky street in Darlington, next to an amazing art shop . We enjoyed our dinner at the Wynd café. Very friendly place and in my opinion the cafe has a good modern interior. I ordered grilled meat and it was delicious, it came with a fresh salad and very tasty rice. my husband tried Ukrainian dishes and he really enjoyed them. There was a good selection of kids options as well. Nice background music. I would definitely recommend this place. A little gem in the middle of Darlington.

Nice food, and also a lovely place to have coffee and study. Plus, staffs here are super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend for someone who is looking for a comfortable place to enjoy me-time in the town.

I went for the first time today with a friend and our babies in the prams. The service was excellent - very friendly and accommodating. The door was opened for us, the tables were moved so that we could fit the prams in and the menu was adapted as I needed a dairy free meal. The meal I had was delicious and beautifully presented. I couldn't recommend enough. I'll definitely be returning!

Horrible service walked in and asked about a pizza apparently closed could tell the onwer couldn't be arsed to make it why keep the bored outside 😴 Advertising Freash pizza walked its and the owner said closed with no apologise or anything horrible Attitude Needs to change the attitude

Tried out the new grill today. It was delicious and very reasonably priced, it even came with a free drink. Definitely worth a visit!

Went to the cafe today at 1pm (2 people) I would say it was moderately busy but not heaving. We waited 20 mins for the drinks to arrive. We then waited 1 hour 20 minutes for any food to arrive. I ordered the breakfast, I had asked for no black pudding and no tomatoes. When it arrived it had both on the plate. I asked the waiter and he took it away and scraped it off and brought me back the same plate. The toast and the beans were stone cold and the eggs were not runny. I asked the waiter to come back and handed him the toast which was freezing and explained it wasn’t very good especially for how long we had been waiting, and it wasn’t very warm and we were still missing the other meal. He replaced just the toast. Throughout all this, we were still missing our other meal (a pizza.) The pizza arrived about 15 mins after the breakfast was served and was very greasy. We were offered 20% off the bill but realistically after everything that was wrong with the meal, waiting nearly 2 hours and eating at different times, I think we shouldn’t have paid at all. Extremely disappointed and will not be returning again. I would not recommend it.

My cousins and I enjoyed a lovely lunch here on 25th January 2024. The breakfasts were beautifully presented, great value and scrumptious as well. I had one of the house specialities, filled dough pasties, which were very tasty. Dog friendly as well.

Great place to eat varied menu & delightful food. Second visit & certainly will return, lovely clean restaurant & staff very friendly , Tomato sauce really different with mozzarella & croutons.

The welcome was warm and friendly. My daughter was entertained from the start with crayons and paper. The service was great. The food was lovely and value for money was definitely provided. Carbonara pizza was delicious and everything was cooked well. Finished with a lovely chocolate cake. Overall great experience and I’m happy we chose to eat here.

Called in for coffee with a friend and ended up ordering the Ukrainian breakfast. Really good quality produce, served quickly and the Ukrainian hash browns were amazing. Alex was very friendly, made us feel very welcome and we will definitely be back!

Wife and I visited for lunch (although I had a breakfast option). We had Chicken Kiev and Ukrainian Breakfast both of which were excellent especially the Ukrainian hash browns in the breakfast.

Won't be visiting again, ordered a parmesan, not worth money, also got 2 coffees, pice chocolate cake, £20, parmesan was tiny, no salad on, they not properly organised, badly run cafe at extortionate prices

Group of 6 and a dog. The waitress was lovely however we all had breafasts (apart from one who had salad) all were of very poor standard. My daughters milkshake was £6 which seemed really steep. Nothing we ate impressed anyone in our group. We wont be back due to food.

The borsch was absolutely stunning😱, it feels a lot more than just a restaurant dish, it feels like love and joy, with the proper sides: toast with salo and spring onions, incredible 😍 Nice and relaxing music, and very warm personnel! I wonder why I didn’t discover them earlier, will definitely come to The Wynd Cafe and Bistro again!

Very good.....couldn't give 5 stars they forgot my Yorkshire pudding

Enjoyed our visit unfortunately it has changed hand since last time we were there. Menu not too good for lunch time also quite expensive for lunchtime

Despite previous reviews, the prices are pretty much the same as before. Food was good, service good. We were the only people in so no atmosphere.

The coffee was very strong and a bit bitter for me, ordered a full breakfast and when it arrived some of the food was hot or warm, toast was more like warm bread and there was salad leaves with cherry tomatoes? The TV at the end of the cafe was playing some chilled out video with very annoying harp music.

Overpriced breakfast, cheap nasty baked beans, for 13£ you would expect heinz. Sausages not the best, bacon, hash brown and black pudding was decent. Not worth 13£. Sushi was nice, but still overpriced for what it was.

Have to agree with other reviews. Staff are friendly and welcoming, and the coffee wasn't too bad, but sadly these are the only redeeming parts. The food took about 20 minutes to arrive (eggs benedict), and was served stone cold. Muffin was straight out the bag, not toasted. Eggs were somehow simultaneously undercooked and overcooked, with raw whites scattered across the plate yet somehow solid yolks. Ham was also straight from the fridge, and was clearly Tesco's budget brand. No hollandaise to be seen. The best part, all in all it cost £12.80. You'd be much better off heading to Hatch round the corner; better food and coffee for less money.

I simply have to put the lowest score possible. This used to be a wonderful little cafe & not too expensive. However, since it reopened under new management, the prices have increased exponentially. You would think you lived in Mayfair, I kid you not. Shockingly high prices for the most basic of food. The only reason I can think of is the owners are using the business as a funnel account to launder money through. There is no other explanation.

Ordered a piece of cake, tea, late & a cheese & onion sandwich. They asked if we wanted the sandwich toasted we said please. After 25 mins, the cake was eaten, the late(worst I’ve ever had) was drunk, and tea drunk.We decided to wait no longer. We paid for what we’d had and said we couldn’t believe the toasted sandwich still hadn’t arrived. They had the cheek to ask if we’d ordered it. Then asked if we still wanted it. Atrocious service, powdered late i think. Definitely wouldn’t ever go back!

Lovely places...but £6 for scrambled egg ...one slice of toast and very little scrambled egg ..not sure it worth it ....

This used to be a lovely little cafe. Went for lunch with 3 friends last week. Never again ! We ordered 4 salads ( 2salmon 2 chicken.) After about 30 mins the 2 salmon arrived, basically a plate of lettuce with a couple of strips of smoked salmon and avocado. No dressing or tomatoes as on menu. My friends asked where the dressing and the tomatoes were. They took the plates away , added dressing and cut 3 baby tomatoes up and split between the 2 plates. 30 mins later and the 2 x chicken salads had not arrived. How long does it take to make a salad !! We paid for our drinks and left as other friends had eaten their salad by this time. The family on the table behind us also left with no food. The manager was shouting 5 more minutes......we didn't wait !

They're back! New menu (no Wallace and Gromit sandwiches sadly) but the new Ukrainian menu is a welcome addition alongside classics like breakfasts, sandwiches, salads and pasta. Friendly service, the food was good quality, hope it goes well!

Very enjoyed Wynd they had a very good deal on for lunch as Sandwich, Cookie/Muffin, Hot drink or Refill soft for £8.50. They had a few other deals but I went with this The sandwich was great and could be had out of some preset choices or a create your own, as a neurodivergent this was a slice of heaven knowing exactly what is going to arrive on my plate no nasty surprises or unwanted wastage! Very delicious will come again.

The Wallace and Grommet sandwich is very tasty, definitely worth a try.
