Definitely worth the visit! A lovely vibe about the place 5/5 for this! Staff were lovely and attentive 5/5 Food was out in nanoseconds, presentation was wonderful. The avo & chicken toastie was amazing, my girlfriend had the salmon on toast which was presented beautifully. I would say the salmon was abit on the dry side but overall lovely! 5/5. The coffee was nice but nothing to shout about and small for an ice latte, I would have preferred more ice also 4/5 Thank you !!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Found this lovely cafe just right. Clearly very popular. Full house! Staff, whilst very busy, were welcoming and helpful. Short but focussed menu with good variety of drinks. Also a doggie menu which our Golden Retriever appreciated. We chose the curried cauliflower toastie and warm salad. Our dog had a pupachino. All very tasty.

Same old cakes and cookies….. boring !! You need a damn sweet tooth for those cookies, and they all taste the same! I had some dry red velvet cake recently , and today lemon drizzle which is ok, but boy….. the prices are extortionate and their portions are getting smaller!! I had a cappuccino, my friend had a latte! We couldn’t tell the difference between them, both luke warm and milky. Shan’t he back in a hurry. Service slow and not much interaction, until time to pay!! Your face fits if you’re a yummy mummy in a Land Rover!!

Always so great. Expect to wait for a table as it’s always so busy when we go, with a queue out the door for takeaways! The cakes are sensational!

Came in with some friends for some toasties and drinks, the drinks were lovely I had a blueberry matcha, and a tiramisu iced latte stunning. !! But the toasties were not good, first of all they took quite a while to come out, then when we did get them they looked as though they had been thrown on the plate, and just overall not the best, the chicken toasty didn’t have any flavour, and the avocado was brown. I also had an issue with a toasty where they asked me to pay towards a remake, which was strange but I did, and then the original was taken and I was given a new one and they kept the other toasty. So I paid for 1.5 toasties and I received 1. I personally don’t really agree with this.

I love this place. The staff are super friendly and the coffee and snacks excellent. Really good atmosphere. Only downside is sometimes hard to get a seat hence 4 stars but perhaps that is because people love it so much and do t want to leave….

Over the years I've eaten here a few times and always left with the same impression . Personally I feel like the staff could be alot friendlier and more approachable. For me eating and drinking here is not a relaxing experience . Firstly if you can even find a seat your lucky , then join an inevitable que , then pay alot of money for a tosted sandwich and be greatfull for it . Alot of places to eat and drink these days, perhaps the best way to compete is on service . I probably wouldn't eat here again but they seem busy enough anyway .

We’ve been here several times before and always enjoyed the experience. Toasties are great, with a good choice of fillings. Nice coffee too. Just one thing, it’s a dog-friendly place, so if that’s not your thing, you might not like it.

We have been going to the Workhouse for years, and really enjoying it, not minding at all the bustle; in fact pleased it was doing really well, especially as it is expensive for many. Much better than a chain coffee house - as we told copious local friends Sadly, the post-Covid menu is not so great for us, the older lady who took our order this a.m. was rude and bossy (as other staff noticed), the porridge, a delight before, was so sweet we had leave most of it. And the piped music was (as before, but tolerated) intrusive. (Perhaps that's to discourage untrendy older folk, in which case it was a successful ploy!) All that said the coffee was as excellent as ever. We will leave going there until the spring, when we can sit outside. And we will stick to the coffee only. Great pity because such places in this part of Northants in short supply. My suggestion? The manager/owner should speak to clients.

My ex-colleague and I arranged to meet here as we had been before and it is right up her street, although pricey for an old guy like me! If you like sugary cakes and biscuits you are going to be in heaven here as there is a huge selection. As a pre-diabetic I struggled, so I had a latté and, later, an Americano with a small piece of the least naughty cake I could see. Service was good but the coffee can sometimes be tepid by the time it reaches you ('Coffee boiled is coffee spoiled', they say - no danger of that here). We met at 1030 but the rush was starting as we left an hour or so later. A popular place. Parking can be difficult.

Rude staff, clearly they think if they smile their faces might break!. Gluten free offerings rock hard and like a brick. Cappucino, overly bitter and unpleasantly. Ridiculously expensive for what was offered. Staff banging and clattering whilst cleaning up without apology or excuse. Felt most unwelcome. Dogs allowed inside the restaurant when there are plenty of outside tables. Just disgusting. Will never set foot in such an unwelcoming place again.

Me and my wife went for breakfast, we have been before, just not for a while, managed to get a table inside, it was very busy, it was also very noisy, we struggled to hear each other at points, it’s very echoing inside. I went up to order, and stayed my table number straight away as I saw the sign by the counter, the lady that served me was clearly busy, but she was rude and atleast 3 occasions whilst I ordered, very abrupt and one word answers, she seemed out out when I asked if they accept cash(which they don’t). And then at the end she bluntly asked what my table number was, then realised I had already told her but didn’t apologise. The food and coffee came promptly and was really good, no faults there, all very good. Just a shame about the initial service I received.

We visited earlier today and ordered the cheese and ham toastie and 2 chocolate cakes which were very large! We also ordered 2 regular sized hot chocolate drinks which all totalled about £23. I have to admit my toastie was delicious and my hot chocolate equally so but I couldn't finish the cake, which was like a small brick! The Workhouse is dog friendly and has seating outside too as well as a small car park. I believe there is a small workhouse shop around the corner. Visited 15th July 2023.

I would rate it as good. We went as a family for a breakfast birthday. The halloumi toasties and pesto toasties were good. At £6.50/£7 each they should be even on sourdough bread- average size slices. £4.50 two years ago? I chose a four cheese toastie. It was poor. I did not say anything as I did not want to spoil the atmosphere on our table. I opened the slices to see a butter portion of cheese. Maybe the chef had an off day? As there was a minuscule amount of cheese it was very dry. The bacon sandwich at £6 was expensive but maybe ot was premium bacon. It was a very good sandwich on a soft bun. Coffees good. Hot chocolate with marshmallows at 75 p extra a bit steep at £4.75 total. A mixed but honest review. Cant give 4 stars but better than 3 stars.

The lady behind the counter was not that welcoming, and was very surprised we could not use cash. Though food was good and was delivered quickly. However a person chair broke actually the leg fell off whilst she was sat on it and not one lady from behind the counter came to offer support. Thankfully a man who was working there came over both were obviously embarrassed.

As a regular I love the food eat in or out it’s delicious. My only gripe is when ordering a cake or a sausage roll - from the glass display unit, the server is unable to put it in a box and give it to me to take away, I have to wait for the kitchen to process it and it entails a wait when it could be instant. That said great food
