Travelled to the venue ti meet a friend..lovely service food excellent and met my coeliac needs perfectly. Brand new extensive menu too can't wait to go back

Brilliant pub . Lovely building with convenient parking . I’m coeliac and it’s so hard to find anywhere with a good varied and safe menu . Came upon this place on Facebook by chance and so glad I did , was in touch with them before we came just to check a few things and they couldn’t have been more helpful . Finally got to go today and wow ! So happy with the service and the food . The first proper meal I’ve had out without feeling nervous . I had the burger of the week with onion rings, chips , salad and ordered a side order of a garlic bread , it was all amazing and for dessert I had apple crumble and custard , couldn’t eat it all as there was a big bowlful. Served with care and even offered gluten free vinegar ! Never once have I had that option . Very impressed and we will be back. Even gave me a takeaway pizza box to take my garlic bread home in which I will eat later 😋, main menu great for non coeliac husband who had an all day breakfast and sticky toffee pudding , we’re both so full ☺️

Absolutely delicious gluten-free cheese&onion pie mash and peas. This is my second visit, and we are already planning our next visit. The staff are wonderful and it's a lovely relaxing place to dine out.

Fantastic meal at the Woolpack. A treat from my brother for me and my mum. Best cheese pie; a really strong cheddar full to the brim, crispy pastry and fluffy-inside chips. Mum's steak and ale pie was jammed with chunks of tender beef and a lovely gravy. Brother had the salt'n'pepper chicken, which smelt amazing. It was lovely to be able to dine out together as the GF availability was extensive. Can't wait to go back.

Bar staff friendly and food arrived promptly. Garlic mushrooms starter good. Guinness and stilton pie very disappointing. No taste of stilton overall dry and overcooked. It had been recommended to us but sadly didn't live up to expectations.

Their gluten free menu is exceptional. So glad I've found this place. The cheese and onion pie 🥧 is amazing 👏

Bobbed into today while out on a little walk for lunch. Lovely couple of pints of Guinness. Food was simple and tasty, exactly what you want for a lunch. We took our dog along with us, the lass behind the bar was so helpful and welcoming with a smiley face, she gave us water in a bowl for our dog and also when I ordered a burger for him. They cut it up and put it in a dog bowl for him. If I'm around the area again, I'd go back again. Great work!

This is an absolute find. The food is fantastic and most of the menu can be gluten free. This is not by substitution, but because they are fully clued up and go out of their way to make good food for coeliacs. The staff are always friendly, food is very reasonably priced and the atmosphere is nice as well. Definately worth the diversion if you are in the area.

Another lovely meal at the woolpack. Hubby had the mixed grill and said it was delicious. I had spicy bean burger which was also good. Can't fault the food service and staff. Thanks for another lovely time 😊

We went for my Nans 90th birthday. The food was good, service was brilliant and it was reasonably priced too. I had the cheese and onion pie off the light bites section and it was more than enough.

Really good food at very reasonable prices. Excellent staff and friendly service. Highly recommended, and not too far out of Manchester for Sunday lunch. Dog friendly too!

Loved the etched sheep on the widows and your theam throughout the pub. Excellent choice of home cooked food and the most friendly staff I've come across in a while. Pizza and garlic bread was amazing, along with the chicken tikka , fish and chips and hot roast beef ciabatta sandwiche . Our first but definitely not last visit. Heads up for the gluten-free menu.

Cheese and onion pie was no good cheese didn't melt like Greggs doesn't taste nice

I have coeliac disease and am amazed at the quality of the food and care afforded by staff, in particular Anton and Sophie. Great sized portions, homemade food and decent prices. …. Oh and equally good for those with a normal’ diet!! Well worth a visit.

Lovely local pub serving good food and can cater for allergies. I am coeliac they have a separate gluten free menu i had a lovely meal steak pie, staff are knowledgeable and the chef Anton came to check everything okay. Will definitely be back

We tried The Woolpack as they offer Gluten Free meals. As I am Coeliac, I find it difficult to eat out safely and without the feeling that I am deliberately making it difficult. It is obvious that The Woolpack are fully aware of the issues of preparing and serving food to someone with Coeliac Disease. There is a separate GF menu with a wonderful choice of starters, mains and desserts. I personally had the lasagne which came with garlic bread, you could not tell it was gluten free, and it certainly wasn't a small portion. The same can be said for the apple crumble with custard. We will certainly be back as I want to try the rest of the GF menu, which includes all the pizzas. They also informed us that they prepare and cook the GF food in a separate area of the kitchen.

We was sharing our friends 80th birthday party.the food was booked for 5pm don't get it until after 6pm. It was cold and most of us didn't enjoy it.

The food is very disappointing but the bar staff are very nice . As a ground worker i never stop eating until i began eating one of your burger meals . Im speechless to the quality of your frozen foods . Really not nice at all .

Fairly average place and atmosphere, suppose it's a good drinkers bar

Tried to give a fair review here. Going in for a few drinks and sometimes food is usually fine. Last two times we have been in for food we have had to go elsewhere. First there was a race night on so for some reason they can’t do food, no idea. Landlord told us….”it’s your house and a takeaway then isn’t it”. No need for such a comment. Second time was tonight and there was a small gathering in there for a Christmas meal so they could not do food for anyone else I was told. Again, no idea. On a normal night no idea how they would cope if more than four tables wanted food. Usually fine.

There were seven of us, which included two small well-behaved, children (4 and 7 years old, for our son-in-law's birthday celebration. EVERYTHING about the place was exceptional. The staff, the food, the price of food and drinks, well.....just all of it. Just go there, you'll love it. Absolutely delighted. Thank you so much.

The Woolpack provided the perfect venue, for friends and family of my late Brother in law, to come together and share memories. A hot buffet was provided which was perfect. The staff have been so friendly during the event and while organising. Thanks to everyone involved, for the catering and to the barstaff.

A Group of 9 of us stopped by here for a couple of hours before the football last weekend and the English breakfast's most of us had along with a few pints were very good value for the money also the service from Sophie and her colleagues was excellent we hope to call back again next season if Burnley don't get relegated

Great value, tasty food. Service spot on too.

The food is reasonably priced but was only just warm. A lot of the tables were reserved so obviously popular. I found the staff to be polite when serving but not very child friendly and quite rude on occasions which was a shame.

On Saturday 7th October I was in a group of 9 en route to the Burnley -Chelsea game from the West Country and was most impressed with the welcoming hospitable staff and superb breakfasts we had beer was good and the lovely accents too lol.Most impressed and will call in again next time we are up!

Had lunch here yesterday. The food from the extensive gluten free menu, was absolutely delicious. I was quite full but I kept going as so good I didn't want to leave any. I would highly recommend a visit. I didn't rate highly for atmosphere as it was Wednesday lunch but it was lovely to see such a mixed bag of people.Great service, thanks to the team and beautifully clean toilets !!!

Pub open but no-one around to serve. Had 5 people wondering what was going on. Didn't appear to be any food available. Noticed a sign on the door saying vacancies, think everyone's left including the customers.!

Lunch with the parents. Hubby and Dad had pie which they said was very very tasty, Chilli was really nice. I had the Shepards lunch which was a step up from a Ploughman's lunch. This was lovely with different cheese, meats a pork pie and pate. Portion size perfect and it was delicious.

A very nice, and friendly enough pub. I had my first ever alcohol free beer on draught here, after not seeing it available in 100+ pubs, and it went down a treat! I was already feeling quite hungry before I visited but the remarkably good service influenced me into eating there, and I wasn’t disappointed! Albeit the pie was smaller than I’m used to in pubs but then I don’t think that that really matters when it tastes good! (Kinda closer to a chippies pie if I’m being honest but it does add to the informal charm of this place) A nice, and relaxing atmosphere to boot. I’m sure that I’ll be back at some point or another

Dined on the Steak Night and we were very impressed! Steak cooked to perfection, nicely presented and with a choice of sauce. Wine choice excellent too. We had tried to book on previous Steak Nights but was always fully booked. We know why now. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you 😊

Really liked this place can’t believe we’ve passed numerous times over last 15 years but today was first time we visited!! Came for breakfast was really impressed opened right on time nice decor fresh and clean menus clean as well as the tables chairs floors etc ! Really spacious inside outside equally as spacious with plenty of tables and chairs lovely sun trap! Breakfast cooked fresh really nice good price ! Staff lovely and welcoming food menu for lunch evening meals looks good will definitely be returning soon !! Drinks again reasonably price great service art to our Sunday !

Came in to ask for food and rudely met with staff saying no tables ….tried to make a reasonable complaint - again met with well u know where the pub is

Called in last night for dinner @ 7pm Stood at the bar waiting to be served for what felt like 10 minutes. Young lad behind the bar was serving someone who was ordering1 drink at a time and kept going back to his table to ask what they wanted. 2 lady's were behind the bar totally ignoring me When they finally decided to serve me luckily I asked if i could order food before I had ordered any drinks for my party. Only to be told they had shut the kitchen as they were to busy ? Half the tables were empty? We promptly left and went to the witchaff instead I won't be going here again

Lovely staff and nice friendly atmosphere. Good mix of drinks but not tried any food yet. Will be back.

Lovely lunch and friendly helpful service

While passing by the Woolpack, we spontaneously decided to drop in for a swift lunch. A delightful lady warmly greeted us upon our arrival. We perused the attractively priced menu and selected a meal, which was promptly served to us by the chef who exuded friendliness and made us feel right at home. The experience we had was truly enjoyable, and if our travels bring us by again, we will certainly make a point to revisit. Without hesitation, we wholeheartedly recommend it.

Great. Good food (had breakfast) Lovely staff but miss table service. ie middle of eating and you would like another cup of coffee, have to get wallet out, leave table, go to bar to order and pay instead of being able to say to a server, please may l have another cup etc and pay for whole thing when finished eating. Just personal preference.

I been here many times and its pleasant and relaxing Amanda is amazing cook and the other staff are very friendly good to talk to and Susan is wonderful and polite always stops to ask how you are I would recommend going to here

Brilliant pub superb staff excellent service great food and drink

Myself and a friend I haven't seen in a while went in tonight for a drink and a quick chat. We entered around 9:20pm and ordered 1 drink each with very good customer service from the young man serving us. Within 10 minutes of us sitting down they started to turn the lights off where we were sitting. Half way through our conversation we both decided to pop out for a smoke with our drinks to which a blonde lady (I presume the Landlady) shouted "You can't stand outside in the beer garden. You either down your drinks now or leave"'. We quickly decided that we would just sit back down where we sat and finish our drinks as we had only stepped up from our chairs however, the Landlady from across the room ordered us to stand up away from our seats and finish our drinks next to the bar area, it appears we weren't the only ones as a lovely couple were rudely interrupted and forced to leave their chairs and finish their full drinks at the bar with us. We had sparked up conversation about how surprising it was to be treated like this as both myself and the gentleman I was speaking to had spent a considerable amount of money in this pub other the years. During this conversation the Landlady approached us for the 3rd time within a couple of minutes asking us to finish our drinks briskly, despite her not asking the other 10-15 people to leave. At this point I was rather upset at the way myself, my friend and others were being treated. We stood at the bar cooperating with what the Landlady had said to us and finished our drinks. Upon leaving we both politely said "Thank you" and "See you soon" to which the Landlady replied rudely "No you wont". I advise any local or traveling people to NEVER step foot in this pub, as the way we were treated as locals was profoundly rude and unacceptable. I am genuinely gobsmacked at the way she treats paying customers.

First time for breakfast. Good but shame you have to do it all at the bar. Service would be welcome. Ran over to lunch time drinks so can't be bad eh!

Called for a drink on way home. Very nice pub with helpful staff. Food looked great, a shame we could not stay and try.

Lovely pub. Nice atmosphere. Only had drinks but the menu looked lovely and the meals coming out of the kitchen looked lovely as well.

Find the landlady very rude!!! Shouldn't be listed as family pub, as children aren't made to feel welcome. Will not be returning

Came in for a late lunch on Easter Sunday. Staff very pleasant and the food was excellent. Had the lamb roast - the lamb was very tender and flavoursome and there was plenty on the plate. Extremely good value for money - would strongly recommend if passing by!

It’s nice for a drink, the food is so good and well done. There’s pool and darts to play plus a jukebox for music whatever you like. It’s a wonderful pub and somewhere I go quite often

Foods good. Pool, dart board, sports on tv and real ale. Decent pub. Not the cheapest but that seems to keep some of the less desirables in.

It was the first time I've been in the woolpack for absolutely years but glad I came. Food is nice nothing fancy. I had breaded calamari, spicy chicken wings and sweet potato fries and will be back for more. Staff are lovely too

Friendly and efficient service from the lovely young ladies behind the bar, good selection of cask ales, drinkable wine by the glass, generous and tasty sandwiches at lunchtime, what's not to like?

Pleasantly surprised. Welcoming atmosphere and food was delicious. The service was excellent, probably the best I've seen in the area, meals came out all together by several servers, meaning we could all tuck in at the same time. The menu has an option for small bites but I would suggest having a go large menu too. I'd happily pay for more, however for what I paid, it was top notch. I'd happily eat here again. Thank you 😀

Not been to the woolpack in a long time, friends told us they had been & how good it was. Today we had a lovely meal the staff was very friendly & we will definitely be back
