Staff couldnt of been any more helpful, helping us sort out the photos for the screen and with the music, always happy the answer any questions when we phoned or popped in . There was plenty of staff so we never had to wait to be served, lovely venue, which also included a covered outdoor space. Highly recommend was perfect

Had a lovely lunch at The Woodman. Have been wanting to come here for a while now and it did not disappoint. Staff were super friendly and helpful, the outside space is very relaxing and welcoming and well thought out and the food was lovely, particularly enjoyed the Ploughman's with the various cheeses. We will be back.

We needed a venue at short notice for the wake following my Mums funeral and were directed to The Woodman on Joel Street. From the first enquiry to the end of the day we were delighted with the way that everything was dealt with. Julie and Perry were thoughtful and excellent communicators meaning we had little to worry about. The venue itself was exactly what we needed and everyone complimented the food. The garden was the perfect place to unwind after a stressful day. Thank you to the whole team it made a sad day easier to navigate and we are grateful. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Woodman for any occasion.

Booked my Son's Wedding reception at The Woodman, couldn't have picked a better venue. From the first phone call to the end of the reception we received top service. People like Dale are hard to find. Everything on the day was faultless and the food was fantastic. Thank you so very much for making the day magical for us all x

First time visit for a funeral afters on Wednesday. Fabulous pub and outdoor area. Exceptionally well run with very hard working owners and staff. The atmosphere was electric for the Euros later on that evening and the service never faltered throughout. Extremely clean, will definitely return on next visit to the UK Well done to management & staff and all at the Woodman

The best local pub. Always welcoming and friendly. Great atmosphere to watch the euros and they even brought out snacks at half time for free. Such a nice touch!

Excellent! First time visitor but very impressed by all aspects. Lovely decor and ambience, friendly and I mean very friendly staff, great selection of ales, delicious food. All in all, fabulous. Would I go there again? Yes I wood, man.

The team here go above and beyond to make sure your meal and experience is perfect. We came in today with our autistic daughter and family and although there wasn’t anything on the menu that suited our daughter (she’s very very fussy) the owner was more than happy for us to bring our own food in for her and even provided cutlery etc for her. This may seem like nothing but believe me, we’ve walked out of many restaurants because they have been unwilling to cater for our daughter’s needs. The food was amazing and exceeded our expectations given how fairly priced it was. Would highly recommend 5*

Nice pub, food was a bit pricey and the difference between an adult and child portion is almost non existent especially for desserts!

Dale and his team went above and beyond to host our large party where we also had to cater for an allergy. The staff were kind, welcoming, nothing was too much for them and they made the whole day run so seamlessly. I would highly recommend this venue

Perry, Julie, Dale and the team were absolutely fantastic. When we held a wake here, the staff were incredibly helpful; nothing was too much trouble. They were all polite and friendly and made a concious effort to make sure we were ok at all times. They pulled out all the stops to ensure the day ran smoothly. We couldn't have asked for anything more. Thank you team!

A big thank you to the team at The Woodman where we held a celebration of our Mum's life. You really helped to make the afternoon a wonderful occasion. Always attentive but never intrusive. Helpful at meetings prior to the event and happy to accommodate our wishes and preferences throughout. This type of event can be difficult for families to organise and we highly recommend your services to anyone thinking of holding something similar

Went for a Christmas Lunch today. There was 19 of us, we had pre booked and everything from booking to food/drink/service today was 5 *. The staff were great and really adaptable to the needs of our group. Thank you so much for making our group Christmas lunch a success

Excellent Sunday roast. So accommodating . Nice outside area and is dog friendly. I would definitely recommend a visit for lunch. Anyday of the week.

I used the Woodman Pinner for my late cousins wake in November. The food was really nice and a good price per head which included the room hire. Several people commented how nice the food was. The room was a good size and comfortable, including a small bar at one end and a screen at the other so that photos could be displayed via a usb stick. Dale, Perry and Julie were lovely to liaise with and very helpful. l felt as though the function was in safe hands. I would have no hesitation in using the place again.

Hello - I used The Woodman for my late Mother's wake - Julie and Perry were very efficient and organised everything. The room was excellent as was the huge TV which gave us the opportunity to show some family photos of my late Mum. All in all - excellent - thanks very much!

First visit to this lovely pub with friendly staff who were willing to accomodate special requests. Had Sunday lunch today, the roast beef and chicken were amazing, generous portions, great service and all beautifully cooked. The landlord was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, offering more gravy if we needed it! Dessert was just as good. Highly recommend and we will be back again!

Visited the woodman pub with my grandmother this afternoon ,fantastic service, the staff where very accommodating to our accessibility needs , we sat and enjoyed a lovely cup of coffee in the beer garden with the heaters on .

Came with friends we were travelling back from London called Dale and he went above and beyond for us and kept the kitchen open for us! Food was delicious and all the staff couldn't do enough for us! Love this place!! : )

5star food today 1/08/22 at lunch time clean place n friendly staff. Dogs allowed in garden with fresh water and bowls provided. Our ham eggs n chips were so hot tasty and cooked nicely the like of which I havent eaten in many a year. Good brands of drinks too. Thankyou vey much. We will return. Jan and Marcello.

We used the Woodman Pinner for my mothers wake. The venue was perfect, the service outstanding and the atmosphere was just right, everybody was very impressed. It was well worth the 10 minute drive from the funeral, I would highly recommend The Woodman as a venue for a wake.

Had a love time for Queen jubilee Tea afternoon had selections on homemade sandwiches and cakes and scone a lovely bottle if red wine 🍷 had a lovely lady there making balloons 🎈 for the kids keep asking for balloons as they popped but she's didnt mind very friendly atmosphere and pleasant will definitely be coming back and definitely recommend family's to come x

We had our mums wake held at the Woodman (Pinner) in there function room. Dale, Julie and the team could not of done more for us. They made the whole experience extremely comfortable and could not of done more to accommodate us all. Excellent is all I can say and guests said what a fantastic venue we had. Thank you all so much for helping the day go so smoothly. Can’t recommend enough for anyone looking to host a event here.

Really pleased to see The Woodman in Joel Street is now serving food on Sunday , lunchtime. Excellent, well presented food, relaxed atmosphere and lovely friendly staff. I suggest they start taking bookings as I can see it becoming a popular Sunday eating place.

We had the new 2 course Vegan Sunday lunch it was great value and delicious. As per usual fast friendly service the new Woodman is a real gem.

Dale and his team at The Woodman handled the wake for my late father recently. The food was lovely, the atmosphere was cosy and just right for sort of an occasion and the entire team were friendly, welcoming and helpful. I really appreciate everything they did and I cannot recommend the guys enough. Whether it's for something like a wake, or simply a quiet drink, you cannot go wrong in this lovely pub.

Popped in for a quick drink. Pleasantly surprised. Welcoming and friendly staff, great outside area covered with gazebos and heaters. As an added bonus they were playing 80s soul, which was great. Definitely will be back

Had lunch there with 3 friends the staff were very welcoming and attentive and it was a really nice atmosphere we all enjoyed the food it was tasty and good value for money I ordered the ploughman’s which was delicious plenty of cheese ,pickles, salad and crusty bread and very well presented would definitely recommend it
