Exceptionally loud music, conversation very hard to convolute. Great pint , best in the area and very competitively priced.

Old fashioned pub. Noisy but good humoured clientele. Lots of banter. Low prices. Pub foxes and music nights.

Previous reviews by ‘ludmilton’ can be ignored. The woodman is a diverse, friendly yet still ‘proper’ British pub. The current management (who took over in October 2020) have made this pub a welcoming, safe space for everyone and the staff are very approachable. They raise money for charities, all the customers were friendly enough. The prices are cheap but the atmosphere is priceless. Board games available throughout the week, free pool on Tuesdays, dog friendly, great on a weekend!! Cannot praise this place enough. Yes, a little (one chair) of the upholstery needs a little TLC but I’ve heard from several people that they are due a refurb within a few months

How fast can an hostelry go down the tubes? Rough is a nice phrase for this hole. Uncouth clientele covered in mud a dribbling's. Low class, not a place to take an associate never mind a clown. Really bad service, the staff prefer to leae the bar and talk to customers making you wait for service. No management on service most days.

Not much to report other than yet again, trainee managers with high opinions of their stature ruining the ambiance of a small Public House. if you want to enjoy yourself here, be submissive.

Nice Public bar, just refurbished to a low standard, New Roof, and distant seating. I must use 100 characters, there ain't that many that go in this backwater.

Had a wonderful time in The Woodman, Selby Road LS15 last week. Reminded me of what Pub's used to be like. Awoke next day legless, then I realised I lost them in Iraq ! However, the train service posted them back to me 4 weeks later, albeit, minus a front left toe. I sell prosthetic legs and hope to sell other limbs after promotion. Oh yeah, The Woodman, great ale at affordable prices and on Friday nights free Pizza's between 5-6pm. Competition between the regular staff every Friday with 'The Dance of the Seven Veil's.' Quite a spectacle as its open to all denominations. An Atheist won last week closely followed by a Trappist Monk, who drank Guinness walking backwards to Ireland.

A great little pub and very good as a meeting place if dining at one of the many restaurants in Halton. Music is on Friday to Sunday but if honest, it’s played too loud and very repetitious, Barry White track and others guaranteed to be played every Friday and Saturday night! The price of drink is very cheap, 76p a pint cheaper than the Brown Cow (Corrs). Staff and landlady are very friendly and the beer is always on form. Get in early if going at the weekend.
