First time we’ve been to this Inn. We had a Sunday roast which in fairness was very tasty. What let it down was the poor service. Had to go to the bar to order drinks after sitting down for 15 minutes. The serving staff did not seem to have any direction or leadership.

Service was faultless - single member of staff was a little under pressure but never showed it. Absolutely excellent service. Now, the food… even better than the service - soooooo good! So understated, what a gem of a pub! Only negative is that the website states local ales but they only had Sharps Doom Bar (Cornwall) on at the time. Need to be more honest in this area please!

The pub is lovely from the outside and inside is great too.We had Sunday lunch and did not start well as has to be sent back as not warm. The turkey and beef were tasteless and there was not a lot of either! Very average. Was thinking of bringing friends next weekend but won&t be returning. For the price it was not good value. Quality and portion size of meats need improving. The veg were ok but nothing special.

Fantastic lunch. We visit Pembrokeshire several times a year but this is first time at the Wolfe Inn and we will definitely be back. We had the beer battered fish with triple cooked chips and faggots with garlic mash. Beautifully cooked, so tasty and well presented. Very generous portions which unfortunately left no room for desserts this time but looking forward to trying them on our next visit. A special mention for our server Jason who was so friendly and welcoming, a great example of good hospitality.

Lovely hot food as to be expected, so be prepared to blow on it so as not to burn your mouth, Sat at a table that had just left, but was cleaned in reasonable time and spotless, We have a child with learning disabilities and when her food came out the mash was hot, but she waited patiently and blew on it before eating, The staff were amazingly patient with her when she was explaining what she would like to order (approximately 5 minutes) Overall I thought this venue was excellent and the food and the staff were great I would recommend to anyone Other than people who like to complain for every reason under the sun to duck the bill

So disappointing. We have been eating here for over 3 years on our frequent visits to the area. Always had fantastic food and service until tonight. Our table (pre booked) was already laid but dirty with coffee/tea rings, the waitress cleaned it only when she brought the menus. We ordered Onion Rings as an appetiser, the bowl was put on the table and the waitress swiftly disappeared, no cutlery or plates were supplied, they were so hot that they burnt our lips and tongue, we were not warned about the intense heat. I was then given my “main course” a tiny portion of lasagna, a tiny salad and 2 pieces of garlic bread, this wasn’t even a child’s portion and was being charged at around £17! We complained, the lasagna was taken off the bill in order to encourage us to return, this clearly seemed to have resolved the issue for the staff but I really don’t think they have any intention of acting on our complaints. I can now see from the reviews that others have had similar issues over the summer. So, Chris, please do not respond with an “apology” as you have to others, take action and change things, show you are listening or you won’t have a business.

My family and I have been going here for about 5 years, while we're staying in our caravan, it has always been a lunchtime favourite. Today we went for lunch the menu had altered, l went for a beef dinner which came swimming in gravy the beef was hard on the edges, carrots and broccoli were fine but roast potatoes were a mush .my husband had fish and chips this was freshly cooked and he enjoyed. The bill was £17.40 so taking the food in account this meant a pint and a half of soda and lime cost £3.50 .All in all a great disappointment ,we though at first that we were earlier that normal and that was the reason it was so quiet ,but on reflection think the limited menu and food quality may be why .The staff were efficient and polite. Service was slow baring in mind how quiet it was.

My partner and I stayed over at the Wolfe Inn for a weekend trip for my Father's 60th. I would highly recommend this BnB/ Bar/ Resturant not only are the food portions very generous but the staff are wonderful and were very catering with my cheese intolerance. My partner also mentions that it was not too noisy on the Friday and Saturday evenings which we both appreciated. I had previously seen customers express a long wait for their food, but I have to disagree with their findings as both our lunches and birthday meals arrived efficiently and very well prepared.

Very Disappointing experience. We had to wait 40 minutes for the meal which in my opinion is very long. It was freezing so my nan and I decided to put our coats on. The food was overcooked and dry and they messed up my order of a chicken burger and I had to wait another 10 minutes for it to arrive. I have visited the wolfe before and it was very nice but the last 3 times I have been, the issues I mentioned were very concerning. If you’re looking for a consistent resteraunt to have food, I would advise to go somewhere else.

I walked in to a strong smell of toilets so not a good start. Was greeted at the bar and ordered drinks and then was told your table is in there so I stood there and said where then he took us to the table. There were eight of us the rest arrived they gave us plenty of time to look at the menu so that was good but then my glass was empty and everyone else's they came over and took the food order didn't ask if we needed drinks so I went up and got them myself. there was a long wait for the food that's usually a good sign of its going to be good and it was no complaints everyone found the food perfect and very good quality. there was one issue a blunt stake knife i pointed this out to the waiter and he just said well nothing. So the drinks are empty again but we are not asked if we need more but they do offer dessert menu. we order 3 desserts and 2 arrive I was really getting annoyed now but I could see there was absolutely no point in saying anything as they really don't care. I was told this was a great restaurant with great customer service and great food but once again Pembrokeshire customer service was awful the staff spent all night talking at the bar. so I am giving 5 stars for the food no stars for the staff and they need to look at what they are cleaning with so that's why I am giving a 2 star you get the same service at a fast food restaurant. unfortunately this problem is all over Pembrokeshire there is no training given and it will be the death of local restaurants as when the big chain restaurants move down here people will move to them as they train their staff how to do the job properly.

I have known The Wolfe for a very long time and over the last forty plus years its fortunes have sometimes gone up and down - however it is good to that it is definitely up again; it's a lovely cosy traditional Welsh pub which is welcoming and friendly with professional service. We try to come for lunch as and when we can - the current lunch menu has lots of choice and costs £6 with free tea or coffee. It is amazingly good value but also good food. It is convenient for getting to from Haverfordwest or Fishguard and great for ferry travellers. I haven't stayed overnight, living nearby, but I'm sure it would be comfortable and provide a nice stop over. We will keep on coming for lunch!

The food arrived very quickly and it was steaming hot when it arrived. The food was very tasty and portions were massive. Again dessert orders were taken quickly and again the desserts were beautifully presented and extremely tasty. The only reason I haven't scored a 5 is due to the baby changing facilities being extremely cold which I'm sorry to criticise as our visit was very enjoyable. My wife, Marjorie treats me to superb food, and has done so for 53 years so I decided to give her a break and take her out to dinner on our anniversary. We had been to the Wolfe Inn twice, for lunch, and the Lasagne was acceptable so, surmising that the dinner menu would be better, I booked a table for dinner. The inn boasts as having a restaurant; we had high expectations. The front staff were dressed in an assortment of tee shirts, which did not bode well. We opted to have our drinks at the table rather than at the bar, and were shown to our table. The corsage I had asked for for Marjorie did not show up. Total lack of ambience. No one came to take our drink order so I had to go to the bar to order wine. The opened bottle of wine was placed on the table and the waiter walked away. The menu was not restaurant standard; rather pub grub with no imagination. We ordered bog standard first courses; Marjorie ordered Bass for her main course and I opted for the Italian Chicken Cacciatore. The fish was dry and fell apart; My Chicken was a rather thick escalope topped with what looked and tasted like tinned tomato puree; both dishes were quite inedible. I managed one bite as did Marjorie. No follow up from the waiting staff; I made our feelings known to the waiter. 'Waiter' is a misnomer as the lack of training was glaring. This is where you come for quantity rather than quality, with generous helpings of vegetables and french fries. The waiter had the grace of not charging us for our inedible main courses. I must say the the 'diners' at an adjoining table wiped the plates clean and suggested that the lack of standards was because of the absence of the landlord. Is that an explanation or an excuse?

Having never been to Pembrokeshire I settled on The Wolfe's Inn for a weeks stay for myself and my wife. It is situated on the main A40 running through the county but slightly set back so road noise is absolutely not an issue. In terms of food we had Sunday roast when we arrived and enjoyed that with a reasonably priced bottle of wine. The wine selection is Ok and not overally expensive for your options. We also ate there the next two days but found the meals repetitious, in that each meal came with exactly the same vegetable selection that came with the Sunday roast! We had Sirloin steak on day 2 and that was not good quality steak, very gristly. To be fair, when asked if we'd enjoyed the meal I suggested they change their butcher and the young lady passed that on to the kitchen, hopefully they will improve their cuts of steak. Day 3 nailed it in terms of eating elsewhere of an evening though, as I selected Chicken Cacciatore - which should be a nice chicken breast covered with an Italian based herb sauce.. instead it was tinned tomatoes covering what I think was formed chicken.. nope not good.. That said the place was very full each evening which shows generally the food appeals, just not to me though. On the other hand breakfast each day was excellent and could be tailored to exactly what you required from the full breakfast option. One quirk though is the tendency to serve the food to you at temperatures Mount Vesuvius would be proud of, I think they either microwave prior to serving up to make sure your food is piping hot or possibly keep it under the grill whilst you finish your starters.. it's a timing thing and difficult to achieve, I know, but didn't spoil the breakfast as we ate heartily each morning. Choice of cereal or muesli, yoghurts and nice bottled Britvic fruit juices - grapefruit our fave.. so as a restaurant nice interior, great service from the youngsters and Steve in the morning, good vibe and comfortable just need to sort out the quality of the food and focus less on the quantity, which can't be faulted, but value for money is a true statement. We stayed in The Gatehouse, room 4, which was upstairs and over the kitchen/cellar. Steve warned me when we arrived of the generator hum and he wasn't joking. I'm slightly deaf but it was an ever-present. That said dunno if it was the nice levels of alcohol we enjoyed of an evening or just tired after our trips around the county but it never was an issue really. The room itself was large and the bed was VERY comfortable (another reason we probably never heard the generator). You had 2 doors to the room one directly out to steps which took you to the car park and the other down to the restaurant. The service for the room was excellent and discrete and never saw who tidied up and made the bed but 1st class. To sum up, great room, great position in the county for getting about to all the other towns, great service, very friendly, good parking, good vibe... just sort out your butcher with the steak quality and more thought on the actual main meals.. oh yeah one last bug bear moan of mine buy Birds eye Garden peas, the tinned ones served up are insipid.. would I return? Yes definitely, would I recommend? Yes for sure..

The place is clean, the bar staff are exceptional and at £6 per meal, the value is exceptionalBeen a couple of times over the last week and this place is such a great rest stop. A tea or coffee is included with your meal, the salads are lovely, the roast meals are fantastic, gammon, just right. You will have to travel a long way to find better value than hereBig congratulations to all the staff, chirpy friendly and nothing is a hassle for them. Visiting friends and family in Pembrokeshire we were taken to the Wolfe for lunch. An amazing selection on the menu made it difficult to choose. Three of us each had a different roast dinner which was amazing- plenty of meat with 2 sorts of potato and 5 different vegetables.Only a couple of us could manage a dessert and the bread and butter pudding could have fed at least two! The service was friendly and efficient and unfortunately we couldn't return again to sample another from this £6 lunch menu- what terrific value.

When ever I visit my mum that lives in Fishguard we always come here for Sunday lunch. Today was no different and 5 of us had a Sunday lunch. The food is great and always quick. The staff are very friendly and are always willing to help, especially the young lad that always looks after my mum. (the one thats learning to drive) sorry dont know his name. Thank you anyway. The conservatory is great as its cosy and bright. The bread & butter pud is my favourite.

I may be biased, but this is our local pub and we visit often. Menu and food is good and the premises is very clean and well kept.Good real ale and hospitality to match. And all within a village that has won Wales in Bloom too many time to remember and Britain in Bloom twice.

We visited relatives who live in Fishguard, they took us here for lunch. There were 5 of us, all havingdifferent meals, desserts and drinks. Couldnt believe how much choice there was for £6.00 including a cup of tea or coffee. There were other menus to choose from but we found the meal was plenty big enough on the £6.00 menu. Everything was piping hot, freshly homemade food and really tasty.we decided to have a dessert out of greed really, none of us were still hungry, one again if the puddings were meant to be hot, they were piping hot, they were all beautifully presented and gorgeous. The staff were extremely polite and helpful, couldn't do enough for you. I will definitely be using this place again before returning home.

A pleasant surrounding and a smile is the normal greeting here. Good clean honest pub grub. Varied selections on an excellent menu. Good service and a completely friendly staff. Friday's cheap menu is also excellent and includes a good main course with a coffee to follow for £6. Can't go wrong here. Steve is always available for a chat about anything. We are regular visitors.

Steve and Kevin are the ultimate hosts, Steve front of house, Kevin in the engine room! The food is always excellent, the staff are friendly and the five different eating areas each have their own appeal. A lunch time menu at £6 with a dozen choices means you are never short of something different, but if that isn't for you, the main menu, specials and snacks add another two dozen or more choices.

Dined and slept at The Wolfe Inn and left refuelled, refreshed and revitalised after taking the tourist route down from East Lancashire. We were welcomed and shown to the room promptly by the manager, who was very polite. Whilst the room was a little cold to begin with we were soon made comfortable. The room itself evoked a warm and relaxing atmosphere where we were able to refresh ourselves in the extremely clean bathroom before we dined. The staff were very attentive, in particular Aled, whose passion for providing a Michelin experience in a country pub was exemplary. Aled was genuinely interested in whether we enjoyed our food and very receptive to all our needs. We had very mixed feelings about the food as whilst it was cooked to a very high standard the ingredients just didn't add up. Starting with the salmon and prawns we could not find any complaints only compliments. However the main course was something different. The steak was cooked perfect, exactly how I requested it (with love) yet it was served with frozen chips. I feel the meal would have been so much more of an experience had the chips been hand cut and even triple fried. I personally couldn't fault the breakfast other than maybe use local produce rather than uniform sausages. For me enjoying a meal is when all my senses have been stimulated. However, despite this would I go and eat there again.....absolutely !! Would I dine there again....without a doubt. I left with a very full stomach and a very full head of a happy memorable night. Many thanks to the staff.

Had a sunday lunch here with family a couple of months ago. Average is the only word i can use to describe it, over done beef slice so thin i thought it was out of a packet, and gravy congealed around the plate as if it had been sitting under heat for a while. Service was excellent though. But overall a little disappointing compared to similar establishments in the surrounding area.

Visited here 1/8/15 Saturday with family, it was very good. I had the steak and kidney pie and it was lush, I had homemade crumble for desert and the two courses came to £10 and I was stuffed and content. The others in the party had various meals and all were excepted favourably. Will definitely return, and the staff were so polite and up for a laugh, not stuffy at all,

We saw the inn when passing and thought it looked attractive and so booked for dinner. We were welcomed and shown to a good table. The menu is over long which makes choosing more difficult. My wife chose smoked salmon with prawns as a starter. I don't like prawns and was able to have the off-menu dish of smoked salmon. The starters were good. For main course my wife chose a rack of ribs. The meat was good but the sauce was moderate. I had steak and kidney suet pudding which I enjoyed. My sister in law had sirloin steak which was tough and she was unable to eat it. Strangely we were not asked if everything was alright as we were eating our meal nor was anything said by the waitress when she cleared away an uneaten steak.Only my sister in law had a dessert, which she thoroughly enjoyed.Service, except as outlined above, was good with one particular lady being full of personality. When I asked for the bill I was asked if everything had been ok. I explained about the steak and the bill was reduced by £15 without question. I would rather have had the meal right and did not reduce the amount I paid including service. I do not complain after a meal with a view to gaining a price reduction.

My partner and I dined here one evening in June. I had the 12oz rump steak and my partner had the lamb cobbler. The steak was cooked perfectly and came with tasty fat chips. The lamb was tender and very tasty, in a delicious minty gravy. The desserts were also very nice and the whole meal was reasonably priced. Staff are friendly and efficient too, and I would recommend this place to anyone after a good hearty plate of pub grub.

I visited the Wolfe on Sunday 3rd May. I ordered the Chicken Cacciatore which came with chips and vegetables. One of my friends ordered the Sunday Roast and the other the Pork. All 3 of us had the same selection of tired, sloppy looking vegetables with our 3 seperate dishes. Mushy cabbage, a spoonful of mash, dried up peas and carrots may be exceptable with a roast but were totally wrong with an Italian style chicken breast with tomato sauce, onions and black olives! It felt as if I was served two different dishes on the same plate. Perhalps some rice/tagliatelle and some courgettes /peppers would have been more in keeping with this style of dish? I didn't touch the veg although the chicken was very nice. The young man who was waiting on asked if everything was alright and when I mentioned my mismatched meal he just smiled meekly and walked away! This is not good waiting on!The desserts were lovely and very reasonably priced.

Staying locally and The Wolfe Inn was highly recommended by our host, we arrived just after opening time (Tuesday Evening) without booking & we were promptly shown to a table in the conservatory, it was light and comfy. Drink & food orders taken promptly, we were impressed by the choices on the menu - I went for the lamb cobbler served with seasonal veg, friends ordered chicken pie and farmhouse chicken, all enjoyed the meals and were tempted by the choices on the dessert menu. We will be returning before the end of our holiday (will phone to book before we go later in the week). Highly recommend to anyone!

The Wolfe Inn had an outstanding atmosphere. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food was perfect, no need for condiments as food was perfectly seasoned. Service was extremely quick. Staff did not fail to make sure we were comfortable and everything was ok. Also enjoyed drinking locally sourced ales (great touch). Will 100% be returning!

Dined at the quaint little restraunt yesterday evening with close friends, the service was quick and the staff where very friendly. The food was faultless. The only fault I could find was an aggressive woman who upset staff and management alike and from what we could see was a very rude woman. And me and my friends felt very sorry for the staff and management having to deal with such an unreasonable customer. Other customers voiced the same opinion. Other than that we will defiantly be returning no doubt about it!!

Visited with family. Such sad news at the passing of a great lady. As usual however the food was great an olde worlde type, no new coffee still just the same old coffee taste great. Reading one previous review I think if you want soya and lactose free you need to visit Costa! This place caters for those who want a great meal after a walk. The scones with jam and clotted cream were nice, cheese on toast very good, coronation chicken sandwich beautiful. This is a place to visit and revisit as my family and I do yearly at least three times v
