Woburn is about as perfect as a large English village gets. And it’s a village worthy of anyone’s time, it’s gorgeous. I have stayed in Woburn countless times as it’s 2/3 of the journey from my family in the NW of England and my home on the south coast. But this is my first stay at The Woburn. The food is decent – somewhere at the midpoint between pub grub and gastropub – and the general decor and cleanliness is higher than you would expect from a three-star hotel. What makes The Woburn worthy of a five-star review is the exemplary staff. We were checked-in by Benji and served at our table by Emily. We can be quite a demanding family because of additional needs. But Benji and Emily were simply brilliant at accommodating us, whilst also looking after the needs of other guests who might find us a bit disruptive. I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.

They were obviously embarrassed by a single person looking to dine as they stuck me in the “out of the way” table despite many tables being free all night and a couple just having walked in and being offered a table with the masses. Also the glass on the beer that was ordered had lipstick on it. The food was nice however though just let down by the service and all!

Booked for Father’s Day, Sunday roast. Received an email to confirm my 2pm booking but that it was for 2 hour time slot. Not a problem, but service was incredibly slow. We arrived on time and ordered drinks and food fairly quickly but didn’t get our main course until 3:30! Roast was average, it was a stacked up on a small plate so had to dig around to find your food buried underneath a large dry Yorkshire pudding! Generally, it was ok but wouldn’t be my first choice in the future!

The worst afternoon tea I’ve ever had. Booked vegetarian option and they did not have a clue what the difference was between vegetarian and vegan. Waitress lied and said it was butter but in fact they were all thick margarine sandwiches with a slither of carrot and 3 chickpeas in one, the other 3 half rocket leaves and houmous . Revolting. The waitress even told us the carrot was salmon - der! The same waitress was rude and very sarcastic which I pointed out to her and explained that this was my friend and my birthday and she would not be happy neither. Terribly slow to replace cutlery, left crockery to build up. Scones dry, no “butter” runny jam and off cream. Replaced our afternoon tea with no taste pizzas, mine was burnt, my sons undercooked. Cheap Parmesan in the tiniest pot. Waited for salt. Very poor. Left the cakes as was a complete waste of time. Manager thank fully did not charge us and seemed to understand our dilemma.

We came for a lunch with friends on Sunday. Food was delicious, service good although a tad slow. Beautiful restaurant with a delicious menu!

Have not been here since they reopened after the pandemic (I know that is some time, but it is a distance away from me!) and was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. We were a large party and arriving from different directions so did not all get there at once but within 15 mins, the staff were friendly and coped with getting drinks orders over a staggered time and then once we were all present gave us a few minutes to settle in and then took the orders. Food selection was good (it was Sunday) but it was not restricted to a Roast and there was a full children's menu. It was busy but the mains came out with only a small delay although there was a gap between the mains being collected and desert orders being taken and again before they came out and not all arrived at the same time, although the gap was minutes only. In all the service was good and those delays did not spoil anything, just. It is a popular venue, and many had arrived in the bar for food as well as booked in the restaurant, so they did very well coping. Certainly, somewhere to go again (if only for the gigantic Yorkshires! a bit bigger plate would have been helpful for those of us who had the roast!) and not too expensive.

We had a wonderful meal and the service was fantastic. We had 3 courses, wine and cocktails and were really pleased with the quality of the food. We will definitely return!!

Well everything was fine when we checked in and Saturday night dinner fab, but things changed at 5.00 am next morning. Our Nextdoor neighbours decided to come in from wherever they had been and World War 3 broke out. He was swearing like there was no tomorrow at her and this went on for an hour, I didn’t sleep and took me back to memories I didn’t want to remember. We told this on check out, all was said was ‘we haven’t seen them this morning - they are still asleep’ - lucky them!!! No apology, offer of anything. We won’t be coming back here in a hurry and we have used this hotel a few times, not any more - in fact never.

Our second time here for a family celebration of 19 people. The drawing room makes an excellent and more private dining space for such a gathering, and it all worked very well once again. Everyone said how much they enjoyed the delicious food and the evening as a whole. The pre-ordering was very straightforward and there was a good choice on the menu for my sister who is coeliac, Special thanks to Chloe for overseeing the booking with great efficiency, and to Benji for his excellent service and hard work in looking after us all so well.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel is located in the centre of the village. The car park isnt easy to find so acquaint yourself before you set off. Rooms are good, tea & coffee facilities in all rooms, and bathroom toiletries. Restaurant BIG menu, good choice of lagers, beers and wine. Staff in the reception and restaurant are very friendly and helpful, and done with a smile. Would definitely recommend.

We had already been to the Woburn before and enjoyed lunch there. This time was unexpected, because we had booked Fratellis nearby (for 10 people). However, there was a mix-up with our booking and they did not have space for us. Enter the Woburn to save the day! At zero notice, they managed to find space for the ten of us and we had a lovely lunch there. Special thanks to Yolanta on the front desk, who heroically sorted this out for us.

Visited twice before Christmas with friends for lunch. Each time the food and service were both exemplary and we would not hesitate to recommend and return. The restaurant is very comfortable and staff friendly and efficient.

Came here for Sunday lunch after visiting the Safari park. Didn't book, and voila, they fitted us in. Food was great, restaurant was nicely decorated but comfortable, we were sitting under the skylight, service was good given how busy it was. Food quality was good too. It was a pleasant surprise for us.

We stayed for our anniversary and were very impressed with this hotel. Lovely rooms with everything we needed and the food was great. Breakfast was lovely and was cooked to order. We will definately return next year.

Was there last week for a few drinks with the family at lunchtime.Overall I thought it was a nice place . The sons had pizza and chips and dessert which was 10 pounds each. Drinks were usual premium lagers/beers soft drinks and top shelf options. I found the staff very polite and helpful and the surroundings very nice . Am sure it gets busier in the summer as the location is pretty much in the centre of the town. It had a decent sized car park and they didn't mind us using the facilities and then having a walk into the town.

Visited here on 26th November for a late sunday lunch to celebrate my birthday. Staff were fantastic and very attentive. We were well looked after and nothing was too much trouble. Food was very tasty and plentiful and will definately be back.

Was not impressed at all! Drinks took 35 minutes to come and when I pointed out to the waiter that she had given the wrong drink to the wrong person, her response was stroppy. There was only one main vegetarian dish which left no choice and the daily specials menu had no vegetarian option on it at all! Food was cold when it eventually came. There was no offer of redress for the drinks taking so long, no reduction on the bill and no offer of free drinks to compensate... Poor customer service. Will not be booking here again.

Me and my boyfriend visited for a birthday celebration. We stayed in the Henry Holland executive room. The room was absolutely lovely!! Really nicely decorated, very classy but characterful. Felt like a treat being there! Bed was the comfiest nights sleep either of us had had for a while, nice and quiet at night too. (FYI there is a card in the bathroom which tells you how to work the taps. We failed to spot it and my partner got very wet trying to run a bath by turning the wrong taps!) Plenty of towels provided and robes. I’d asked them to add some extras to make it special for my partners birthday which included rose petals on the bed and some elephant towel art. Both were done beautifully. We ate dinner at the Woburn restaurant downstairs and our experience was very good. Service was quick and attentive. We were often checked in with to see if we wanted more drinks and if our food was good. Food is quite expensive but it was delicious so wasn’t too bothered to spend more than usual. Breakfast the following morning was a weaker part of the trip! Service wasn’t anywhere near as good as dinner, quite slow and clunky, we had to ask whether we should find a menu or if they come to us, so felt a bit awkward! The food selection for hot food was very limited. We both had the full English, but we both enjoyed it and there was unlimited continental options so we left with full tummies so we weren’t complaining! Overall, I’d definitely recommend it! It’s so close to the nearby attractions like the drive through safari, which is where we went! A great trip and a memorable night in a lovely hotel!

Our first visit since it changed its name and our last. It took ages for anyone to notice we were at our table and eventually take our order. Our food was ok but the drinks did not appear and we had to ask where they were; the staff seemed very disinterested. When we had finished our main course we waited and waited for someone to come and see if we wanted anything else. Nothing happened so we searched out a waiter and got the bill. The restaurant is soulless and like a works canteen with no atmosphere whatsoever; what a let down

This should be a great place for brunch after a healthy long walk around Woburn Park. My friends and I have enjoyed brunch here on many occasions but yesterday was the exception. We were ignored by 5 members of staff standing chatting by the bar and then were told to go round to reception. We did so and were shown to a table, were given menus and our drinks order taken. Then nothing happened for nearly 10mins. Other customers came into the bar area and were immediately served. We therefore walked out and ate elsewhere where we were welcomed. Later that afternoon I tried to ring and speak to the duty manager to complain about the shocking service but after 7 mins I gave up as he couldn’t be located. If staff cannot be trained to provide prompt welcoming service to customers then they like us will vote with their feet.
