Whilst towing our caravan, our car broke down with 2 children and a dog in the village of Rempstone. Whilst awaiting recovery I arrived at the pub on friday evening to get us into the warm and find safe haven. It turns out that I'd found Britian's friendliest pub!! The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and ensure we were set up on wifi, fed cobs and kept comfortable. Simone and her partner really went above and beyond to ensure we were looked after. The locals offered us a very warm welcome too and no-one minded 2 sleeping children taking up space on the benches. And, at pub closing time (when we still hadn't been rescued - 6 hours along), one local came to speak to me to ensure that we had a bed for the children for the night - this village really is full of the nicest people in the country! If our path ever takes us to Rempstone again, I will look forward to visiting. Can't thank the community of Rempstone village enough for your warm welcome and hospitality in our moment of need.

A very pleasant and welcoming local pub, mainly frequented by locals but there is reasonable on street parking if you're coming from further afield.

Lovely little country pub with great beers, very friendly service and atmosphere. They don't serve food but there's a very good fish and chips van calls round every Tuesday evening, and your welcome to eat them in the pub. P.s don't tell everyone as you get everyone in. Love the place

Excellent little pub in the village of Rempstone with a good range of hand pulled beers - guest beers introduced regularly. They also have a great selection of wines and spirits. The pub itself is a lovely cosy building and has a function room and patio area. Always a warm and friendly welcome - ticks all the boxes if you’re looking for a typical village pub.

Small, cosy, friendly village pub. Good choice of draught beers and lager as well as excellent selection of wine and gin. Open fires in bar area and log burner in the side room, ideal for small gatherings. Pub quiz once a month and occasional events advertised on Facebook and Instagram. Would highly recommend.

What a fantastic find! - I meet at the White Lion once a month as part of a book club. We were looking for a pub that was midway point between us all (6 of us at present) and we stumbled across the White Lion, we love this pub, the owners treat us like family when we come in, we always let them know when our meeting is and they lay on snacks for us which we devourer promptly as it's always so nice (home made dips yum) , we love sampling the many different flavours of gin they stock, the inside is cosy and always welcoming , the toilets are one of the nicest you will find, everyone is always so friendly staff and customers alike, there is nothing negative I can say about the White Lion, I just wish I lived in the village of Rempstone because I'd be in there everyday if I did! Once the weather improves we plan on attending the monthly quiz they have.

Called in early afternoon on new year's eve, so it was quiet, but clearly had much going for it. Nice wood fire in the front room, comfortable and the ales well kept. I will definitely return. I would be interested to know what the side room is used for - it seemed out of keeping with the character of the rest of the pub. Easily accessed by public transport from Nottingham or Loughborough: the Kinch 9 stop is literally around the corner.

This place is a gem, rescued from the clutches of one of the many greedy pub companies that make it impossible for a publican to make a living. The freehold was purchased and with the backing of the community the village now has a thriving pub once more. This is a delightful albeit tiny village pub and I would recommend it to anyone who loves traditional English pubs the way they used to be.
