The White Horse in Powys

Great food here. The portions are a very decent size. Special burger need to be considered before purchase as they are rather large. It was full when we squeezed into a corner but the food took about an hour after ordering but was worth it. Sky sports on two big screens and nice friendly staff.

Amazing place and amazing young staff! Prices were really low for the value that we got. The portions were really big and the food was very tasty. Great service as well. We stayed in Builth Wells for 2 days with our friends, and after the first evening, we knew that we would come back on a second day as well, I wish we would live closer as it was still a lot of different food which we would like to try.

Dinner with colleagues on a business visit. Good food and friendly staff. Possibly the best pub food and best atmosphere in Builth Wells. We did not stay overnight.

Popped in for lunch whilst in the area. Food was fantastic, and plenty of it. Excellent value for money! Staff were all friendly. Would definitely return if ever in the area again. Highly recommend.

I didn't stay the night but the establishment was spotlessly clean ,the food was well presented and tasty, and the staff were very friendly and helpful, will definitely call back in when I'm up there again

Friendly staff and amazing food.

Delicious food if you like a good size portion, tasty differences unique to the white horse and at around £16 for a main meal. The loaded fries looked epic (saw them go to another table), we had fish and chips and a chicken burger with halloumi and homemade chilli jam, it was the best burger I've ever had, ate the whole thing (I usually avoid burgers unless I'm starving cos they're too much to eat but this was perfect!). Some of the tables are weirdly laid out so a bit too close together along the back wall but they have nice semi circular booths too, the bar was busy, could have been wiped down more as was often wet, tables could have been cleared more quickly around the bar area and the staff were friendly. About 15 tables outside in the beer garden so plenty of space which looks onto the road.

Only had food here, was very nice. Everyone in the group enjoyed their food.

Came to Builth for a change from Rhayader and so glad we did. Had a meal and drinks. Gyros burger was delicious. Best burger I've had in a long time. Friend really enjoyed the fish and chips. Staff were friendly and atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Will definitely be back again very soon. Thank you .

Came for festive lunch today- large group of us. Fab menu & lots of choice. The food was delicious, hot and presented nicely. Whole atmosphere of the pub was lovely & friendly. Highly Recommend.

Food is absolutely fantastic! Reasonably priced as pub food goes too. Burgers are absolutely delicious. Drinks are cheap too, maybe 50p above spoons prices

Called in as we were in the area with no idea what to expect, and wow we were impressed. Both myself and my friend said it was the best food we’ve had out in ages- and although we live an hour away we’ll definitely make the trip back!😊

Went for dinner after work Food was excellent

Our group decided to stop for a drink and a bite to eat, I had the tuna panini and my wife had the steak loaded fries. Both fresh and very nice. Service was quick and staff very friendly and polite

Amazing food & location, you won't be disappointed.

Staff were really friendly especially the head chef who even though not on shift took the time to explain the food and helped us choose a meal suitable for my partners dietary needs. The food was brilliant and the service was quick. A nice atmosphere. If I'm in the area again for a weekend away will definitely stop in again.

What an amazing find on our travels. Beautiful pub on the high street, lovely clean modern decor and what a menu! There was too many good choices, but the food we did have was great! Would highly recommend.

Good selection on the menu, massive portions, tasted really nice but the dessert, sweet baby jesus, the desserts were immense.

Great food,great atmosphere, super staff,both serving in the bar,and aslo doing the waiting of tables,all round friendly place,well done all. Oh and it was the night of the beer run through the town streets which was quite funny to watch ,you just know there was going to be some very very thick heads in the morning.

After looking for somewhere nearby that was showing the football and to get something to eat we settled on The White Horse, the atmosphere felt very family friendly and the staff seemed nice. The burgers were great and portions were big.

Pub looks clean. Friendly staff. Disappointed with description of food and what was served. Bear battery cod looked like a frozen fish portion and a thimble of mushy peas and my friends giros wrap was frozen chicken gugons in a wrap. £28

Spot on with meals for myself n sister in law who r both unable to eat gluten.

Came for food here a few weeks back and it was amazing. Group of 7 and we all received our food quick, all cooked really well and the staff were really helpful and polite. Would highly recommend if you are in the area after some food. The price of the food matched the quality of it.
