The White Horse in St Albans

It is one of my favourite pubs in the St Albans/London Colney area. Great weekend parties and super karaoke nights. Big thank you to all the staff at The White Horse. ♥️

Delicious roast, great pint, all that one needs on Sunday.

Came in Sunday for the football, great experience with a great atmosphere!

Came here yesterday for lunch, the food was lovely! Well worth a visit. Peter and his team are great.

It's pub grub. What really makes this place is the staff. Food is good and well priced. Staff are amazing. The pub itself looks great.

I just popped in for a quick drink before going home

Clean and spacious, love the seating area at the back and front of the pub. It took me by surprise that in this day and age I've been asked if I'd like to pay by cash or card, it's so great to have these two options! Staff were amazing, very accommodating and friendly. Drinks were doubles and food was tasty!

Great place to eat and friendly atmosphere to have a drink. Lots of seating with tvs for sports games too. Outside eating at the front and rear. Lovely fresh good wholesome food. The staff are so polite and are always there if you need something. Can get busy but not in a hectic way. Very enjoyable and homely feel. My wife and I came for a Sunday roast and a pint of Guinness, we can honestly say it was great food and probably the best Guinness we have had anywhere. We will come again with our kids next time for another satisfying meal. Thank you so much for the hospitality, we really felt like we were looked after well.

Met with our friends and babies to have a meal here today, 6 adults, 3 babies and the team couldn’t be more accommodating. They kept checking we were ok, if the babies needed anything. The lady behind the bar was really friendly and helpful. She has a little chat with us and showed us her beautiful son also. The whole atmosphere was warm and inviting. The food was amazing! Portion sizes were very generous and everything tasted so good. We chose this place at random as it was equal distance from us all meeting up together but we will certainly be returning next time we visit. Thanks so much team, I never write reviews but couldn’t not after today.

Great place to go for quality food, good weekend atmosphere weather it be nightclub scene or karaoke on a Sunday, football screens for sports is great also. staff are always kind and friendly.

Am so happy to have a pub like this in the heart of the village. A wide variety of events to suit all. Friendly atmosphere whether you're a local of just visiting. The landlord and staff are so lovely and make everyone feel welcome. Definitely worth visiting.

Sunday lunch excellent value, staff could not do enough for you.

Speed quiz every Tuesday £2 per person max 10 in team or play on your own. £30 bar tab for winning team. Pool table £1 per game. Darts and dominoes are available. DJ or band on most Fridays and Saturdays From soul & Jazz, Garage , Dance classics etc. love DJ whitecoat and bandioke. Peter the Landlord is a genuine guy who has time for all the customers and bar staff he is passionate about customer service. The food is awesome however presentation and consistency has gone down in my opinion in the past month. Caters to my whole family with vegan & vegetarian meals which are available, there are also, chicken wings, OG hotdogs, burgers. However no sweet potato chips have been available for over a month now. Desserts are available however no vegan desserts available. When I first had coffee here they had oat, almond and lacto free milk to cater for my family and friends reguirements, No dairy free milk has been available for past 6 weeks. Staff are friendly especially Jasmine, Kai, Jack and Amara. I always have an awesome time here. The one improvement I would suggest is to have John Smiths on tap, to entice some of the locals back.

Came in for the speed quiz my husband and friends raved to try . Pub was horrid . Public strolled round the other side of bar , and staff did nothing . The what little management was clearly threatened by something or complaining as all you could hear was f this f that on congregation at end of bar . Was vile , rude , bullish staff members . Avoid like the plague . Disgusting have mailed the company direct after seeing the company on the menus . Staff are a disgrace .

Was passing through London Conley and stopped at The White Horse for some lunch. What a treat. Great welcome by Florrie behind the bar who helped us with our drinks and when going uk to order the food, Jack talked us through everything and helped me get over my reservations about a Mac and Cheese burger. How grateful I am he did… was delicious. Will be visiting again when back in the area!!! Cheers guys!!!

Wonderful visit, great staff and great food!!! Florrie and Jack were great and welcoming, food was delicious and moreish and garden areas were a great sun trap. Epic venue, will visit again soon!!!

Went to the House and Garage night, Dj Whitecoat was brilliant 👏 👌 🙌. Kept the crowd on the floor the whole time and even changed it up for all the old people in the bar at the end so they could bust a move or a hip. Very nice Bar staff, tidy and clean bar area and lots of drinks to choice from. Didn't try the food but will be back for wing Wednesday when it's only 50p a wing 😋 only downside was men's toilets could do with mopping during the night as some of the people aiming in there was terrible . Look forward to visiting again .

Very down to earth pub. Bit of a spit and sawdust pub. Friendly no real ale.

My wife and I was very impressed with the bar / restaurant , catherine was very polite and courteous and a great host . Explained she was new to the pub ,but she proved to be professional and friendly throughout . Will recommend the pub . Thumbs up catherine your doing fabulously 👍

Actually was a really quality night. Reasonable price drinks, Good tunes from Chris. Everyone friendly and no hassle anywhere. Lovely to discover my new local is a good one. I will go again. Needs a few more punters to make.it lively. But it was an awful night poring with rain. Not a bad turnout considering.

Lovely place to have a drink and great selection of food on the menu. We opted for the vegan burgers with onion rings and they were delicious and beautifully presented. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. Lots of seating inside the bar area and outside the pub as well. Highly recommended for a nice meeting place for friends and family.

Wonderful, friendly and accommodating manager. Really sought to cater to enabling us to watch a specific sporting event whilst others were partying in different areas of the bar. Also tampons and pads in the womens loo - lovely touch :)

Beautiful done the refurbishment, it great to see the pub is reopen, naw London colony high street get alive again. Food is good.

Absolutely lovely pub! The new owners have really done the place proud. Lovely atmosphere, great craft ales on tap and a great selection of drinks available.. really looks the part. Havent tried the food but I'm sure it will be as top notch as the rest of the pub. Karaoke night on sundays hosted by very professional dj's that really know how to create an enjoyable night out for all.. Can't rate my experience there highly enough!

Such a pleasant surprise. We visited this evening after it’s re-opening. Decor & ambiance was lovely. Great drinks menu & food was extremely good. Definitely worth stopping by. Staff were super friendly too. We will be visiting again.

Nice pub atmosphere. Staff are very friendly. Food is served here although I have never ordered so can't say how good it is. Alcohol is fairly priced but soft drinks seem a bit high. Big car park round the back and small bit nice areas to sit outside. Pool tables here and good selection of live music, karaoke and other entertainment.

Good time with friends. But very hot. Need more air con for summer days. Bar staff good remembered what I was drinking.

Great sports pub, had lots of screens to watch and always has a wide variety of events showing. Also has a good looking menu but I have yet to try any of the food.

Locale informale.....dove passare delle belle serate di musica dal vivo o karaoke il fine settimana....adatto pure per mangiare qualcosa di veloce e anche per passare dei bei momenti a giocare al biliardo

Love the food in here! The staff is always nice and they are giving they're best on peak hours. Always clean and fast service.

Great place good people, awesome atmosphere

It's ok, not much to write home about to be honest. Just straight up local pub, straight up brews, straight up food at straight up prices. Nothing fancy but definitely not a dive bar. Pool, darts, fruity and a few decent size screens to watch the footy. Sometimes live music and sometimes very busy. Other times chill. Depends on the night, definitely worse places to end up in this world to be honest.

Tipica birreria inglese molto accogliente che si affaccia sulla strada principale di London Colney. Inizio subito a parlare della cosa più importante, ossia la birra alla spina! Quelle presenti non saranno tante ma la Carling spinata fa dimenticare subito l'esiguità della scelta. Pinta che scende giù che é una meraviglia, dall'inconfondibile colore giallo oro e dall'equilibrato sapore di malto e luppolo, servita ad una temperatura ottimale (fredda al punto giusto!). Il proprietario poi è una persona rilassata e in gamba (ci ha fatto assaggiare le birre prima di sceglierle e non ci ha fatto fretta pur intrattenendoci a ridosso dell'ora di chiusura). Il locale, tutto rigorosamente e meravigliosamente in legno, presenta più ambienti, con quello centrale dominato da un bel caminetto e da uno schermo tv sintonizzato naturalmente sul calcio inglese! Birra, football e un delizioso caminetto che ti riscalda nelle fredde e umide serate inglesi...che altro volere di più?!

Very rude staff - came in to play some pool and have some drinks and got harassed to 'buy drinks or leave' as we were setting up the pool. Our friends were in fact queuing to get some drinks 👎
