Well worth a visit, food is amazing

Great friendly pub with excellent food and entertainment.

The fish was good, but meals were only warm, which spoiled them. Chips were greasy.

First time visit, we called in for a last minute lunch for the boys. I drive past this place all the time but have never thought to try it. I was really impressed with the food and the price to go with it was amazing. The place seemed lovely and clean, plenty of seats inside and out and a lovely little corner inside full of toys which kept the kids occupied while waiting for their dinner. It's also nice to see toilets in a pub working and clean. Staff also seem friendly. I'll definitely be back and will try to take the kids to some of the events I know they put on for them.

Food was awful. Lasagne was just pasta with little or no sauce. Mushroom carbonara was tasteless. Triple cooked chips were ok but could of been a bit hotter. They had no alcohol free beers as they hadn’t stocked up from the weekend (we went on a Tuesday evening) so chose coke which was flat. Won’t be going back.

Fantastic place. Friendly staff and a nice beer garden. Just the job for a quick pint after work. Especially when the sun is shining.

Food looks amazing on social media so thought we’d give it a go, presentation wise, lovely, but taste wise - not good at all. Prawns rock hard, “duck pancakes” did not resemble duck (although the salad was nice and fresh), spring rolls were greasy. Seemed to me the food was cheap frozen party food. Hugely disappointed. Only a couple of options for a veggie too. N or many anlcohol free options either (just two or pop) Atmosphere is strange, locals seem unsure of new clientele. Staff not very friendly at all. Gutted as been wanting to try hear for ages.

When we went last week during a time it should have been open we couldn't find a way in. If anyone could point this out I'd be grateful.

From walking in the door we should have known! No smile, hello or anything. Sat down (chair was wet) i passed comment to the girl behind the bar who didnt say a word. 1 of us got up to order food. Staff supposed to ask about allergens but didnt. Infact allergens are supposed to be displayed on the menu which are not. Hoisin duck flatbread, with salad,fries, sesame seeds & spring onion. Burger (on the menu as a patty) fries, coleslaw & salad. Burger came 1st.....never been a patty have to say it was literally a quarter pounder from asda! Fries were warm. Nothing special. Flatbread came about 10mins after. Fries were cold & no spring onion! Flatbread was a pitta. Girl came over & said 'are yous finished? & took the plates. Didn't ask if everything was ok. I actually saw her a few times biting her nails behind the bar!! When we left 3 members of staff standing. Not 1 of them said thanks or bye! I get the impression unless you are a regular they don't want to know. Absolutely no atmosphere or customer service & we won't return! Avoid if possible because I wish we did!

Dropped in for food on Sunday at short notice, not a problem, table for 7 plus high chair. Food nice.

Food was really good in my opinion, the portions are massive, and the service was really quick even though the place was packed. Will definitely go back next time we are down that neck of the woods

Went to pub for dinner with my sister and one year old niece. Ordered two sandwiches, portion of chips and a child’s fish fingers meal. It took well over an hour to come and we were the only customers for the majority of that time. Menu doesn’t advise on allergens at all. Very worrying. Zero atmosphere. Was definitely not worth the price.

Got Sunday lunch ... arrived with a slab of tender but quite dry beef, a school dinner blob of Smash (other dried potato brands are available), one small roast potato, a doll sized dollop of turnip (which was nice), and a side dish of rock hard mixed frozen veg (note to 'chef... frozen vegetables need to be cooked before reheating in microwave) which were returned twice, but only warmed up . The Yorkshire pudding had evidently been kept warm from the week before, and the "chef's delicious 3 day gravy still had granules visible. Basically, it was vile.

Arrived 1645 ish ,the plan was to have food and few drinks and watch the football, but stopped doing food 1630 !!! So we moved on elsewhere 🤔

Have not been in here for years and thought it’s got good bands on let’s try it. Friend got a drink sorry NO ICE 😫 Ordered a cocktail took 15 minutes to make. And I got ice but it was absolutely the worst thing I have ever tasted. The coconut milk or the full fat milk I saw her pour in was off. It tasted like bad cottage cheese. They did however give me 2 drinks for waiting so long but I gave it back. Band was canny though but hardly anyone in. Not at all surprised 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

Popped in for Sunday Lunch as we'd been before and it was lovely and wanted to sit outside in the sun. I did enjoy my dinner, however it's quite expensive and the Sunday dinner comes with hardly any gravy as you can see in photo which means you have to buy a gravy boat for £3 and there still wasn't enough gravy!! Yorkshire pudding wasn't the best either!!

Good venue for a party in the Alice in Wonderland room. Great hot and cold buffet, beautifully presented.

Attended 18th birthday party. All the staff were worked off their feet and performed brilliantly. Excellent night was had by all.

Popped in just because my partner and I were a tadge hungry... We were early 12noon so managed to sneak through a side door oops.... Anyway the lady and gent that were serving were most accommodating... I ordered the homemade steak pie, my partner ordered steak...it was no problem to adjust the menu and change chips for mash(absolutely delicious I might add), the pie was full of chunky steak pieces mmmm.... Customer service has to be commended! Some tables do have a veneer problem and feel sticky, but they are NOT dirty, there is plenty other tables to move too... Overall I would recommend a visit to sample the homemade food.... There is an Alice in wonderland theme and nice outside sitting area which children will love when it is opened properly in the good weather. 😊

Excellent lunch meal, just dropped in on the off chance. Everything was home cooked, the soup, bread, onion rings, gammon steaks,eggs and the chips . All very hot, served to the table and delicious. Staff very helpful and attentive. Well done, we will return

OK pub for a once a year work visit. Limited selection of beers and ran out of brown ale. Staff were good though. We'll be back in a years time

Sunday dinner was delicious. Belly Pork was tremendous. Friendly staff, can’t complain.

Tables were sticky. Stater was awful mushrooms on toasted bread!!! Cold un toasted bun with 4 mushrooms and a cold garlic sauce horrible I did complain to waitress. Main course waited 20 minutes to a half warmed up steak pie, and what was meant to be triple cooked chips were over cooked frozen wedges. Not be back again.

The pints on tap are extortionate for the location. I would expect paying £5.80 for a moretti in town at a club, not in a local pub in palmersville. At least their brown ale is only £3.50 a bottle, and they have live music on Saturdays.

there's loads of glass round the back of the building.its been there 6weeks at least and not one of the staff has cleaned it up.for a pub that displays family friendly above the glass doesn't look good.shocking

Unbelievable disrespect to the local community when it comes to noise. Music absolutely blaring at times.

We were here last Sunday for lunch it was fabulous! Back today and my husband and I were not dissapointed . I had steak and Ale Pie absolutely gorgeous and I have never had so much meat in a pie ! My husband had the fish and chips and states it was the best he has ever had, being from a seaside town thats says it all. Very friendly staff and very dog friendly too. Highly recommend this gem of a pub. We will be back !

Hunter's chicken with thrice fried chip was lovely. Peas were served in a mini mug so I drunk them and for some reason a chopping board was used as a plate

Under new management since last time we were there. Cleaners leave a lot to be desired as table was sticky, food was reasonable, but 10 /10 for the gravy. Maybe investing in a Tassimo??

Visited last night with girl friends for our monthly catch up. Food was lovely and the young man behind the bar was very polite, helpful and friendly. We will definitely consider revisiting

Why does your sign day FOOD SERVED FROM 12 PM TO 9PM yet we were told your kitchen closed at 7:30. We arrived at 7:32 for dinner. Guess business must be booming so you can afford to turn away customers. Oh well, your loss.

Very pricey for an average local pub. Small portions, Some of the vegetables were undercooked and the Yorkshire pudding was burnt black. Please take my advice and go elsewhere..

Great food great staff even betterprices

Very ordinary nothing to rave about. I don't know why the chips were served in a piece of paper. The menue said mushy peas and they were garden peas. No one came to ask if all was OK. Was as if they didn't care used to be good years ago now very basic.

Spent the day at their tribute show! Staff were fantastic as was the singers! Was a great atmosphere and would highly recommend

Waited over an hour and a half for pizza and chips. The only fast service was them taking your payment. Food under cooked and came with no cutlery. I can say I've been but won't be going back.

Great local with a big outdoor space, food is decent and the staff are great!. Perfect for families. Also have themed nights and currently the Euros on a big screen, thought £20 for a table was pricey but the service, screen and atmosphere made it worth it.

Great day! The staff could understand the beers better but what they bought was delicious!

Food is very nice, had a burger and cookie dough dessert. Both were lovely. The outdoor setup is also very good. Service is very mixed, its a pub thats moved to table service, but seem to forget they do table service. For example you order your first drink and assume they're going to come and ask if you want to order food, but they never come back. When the food did arrive, they put it on the table and disappear before you have a chance to ask for anything else like drinks or even things like salt or ketchup.

Lovely outdoor area. Fast service. Only had drinks but will definitely go back to try food as menu was enticing.

Would have gave 4 stars but, ordered chips, 1 portion, was shocked when they came, there was about 8 or 9 chips in a small pie dish.. £3.50.... Really.!!.. Otherwise nice place to go, staff are really nice.. Will order a full meal next time,... Be better value..

The meal was lovely, got an extra portion of chips which we never ask for we're charged for them, when mentioned to the lady all she said was oh alright, never got a refund for them so never left a tip.

They have made a great effort with the beer garden, a good selection of beers and the food looks really good

Far to expensive for a local £4.10 for a pint of Carling.No wonder the Clousden is always busy. Place looks like a kids day care rather than a pub. New seating hides the daft painting. Management always to busy talking to friends !

Put a £40 deposit down on 2 tables between 6 of us we had 2 drinks each & were there for barely 2 hours, they brought a £83 bill over so apparently the bill was £123 as we were told the £40 would come off the manager/owner didn't want to know & said it needs paid, there was no receipt to prove what we were being charged for they weren't interested & didn't have a helpful attitude & also had staff under 18 working, which on one hand seemed pointless as they couldn't serve when it was busy & on another wrong when adults are drinking.

Can't pay with card unless over £5 Owners don't smile at you when entering. Very dull atmosphere. Needs a spark to liven up. Tenants do not value their customers.

if i could start the review with less than 1 star I would because to be honest, the food was atrocious. We ordered the chilli with rice and the beer battered cod, the chilly was nothing but pure spice and water (and i must say we are a fan of spicy foods so its not that we can't stand our heat), with no flavor at all, the rice was a lump of overcooked mess and it was so bad that i was vomiting for 2 days!!! the fish was soggy oily and the mushy peas tasted nothing but like water. And on top of that they couldn't supply finger food for a 6 month old... VERY VERY disappointed to say the least. Although the decor is absolutely beautiful, you don't go to pub for just the looks.

Absolutely delicious as always. If you like good hearty home cooked food with generous portion sizes they this place is perfect for that. Highly recommend the mixed grill it's perfectly cooked and massive. Kid's meals are great too. Will definitely be returning.

Después de ver un acuerdo en Facebook para un menú para alimentar a la familia durante 20, decidimos darlo hace tiempo. Hay mucho para elegir en el menú principal y algunos menús especiales también para elegir. Optamos por la alimentación de la familia por 20 te dan pizza de pan de ajo, 2 pizzas, 2 porciones de papas fritas y una porción de aros de cebolla. También pedimos entrantes de nachos y morcilla con puré de mostaza y salsa de pimienta. La comida era fresca y casera no nos decepcionó y el tamaño de las porciones eran excelentes. El personal era amable y el pub era acogedor y cómodo, podría haber sido un poco más cálido pero no estaba helado. Definitivamente volveremos a visitar
