Amazing and friendly local pub.food fantastic and very clean and fresh .would recommend.

The whole pub was filled with smoke which when we arrived were made to believe this would clear, when actually it just got worse and worse as the evening went on and we would not have ordered our food if we had known this at the time of arrival. The man behind the bar, I believe was the manager after asking staff, was swearing and calling a staff member dumb and dumber while I was at the bar waiting. Would definitely not return after our experience here.

Booked a table but want told the kitchen was not operating until we walked in and then we wasn't told we read it on a homemade notice on the bar.

A old pub but it's well cared for. The staff were lovely and friendly, lots banter between them creating a nice atmosphere. Food was hot, tasty and was served quickly. Decent price for a family.

Popped in for dinner after work. Great atmosphere there. Had two fish and chips, was a massive portion and only £11 for two meals... It was delicious!!! Definitely worth a visit if you in the area and want something to eat!

Part of a group of three for a late lunch on Sunday. Was impressed with the pub menu. They had a table for us. Order at bar, then plates bought to table. Nice helpful staff, food well cooked and presented.

Food was terrible, over priced , sent food back because not cooked correctly they returned it looking like it was spat on reporting to trading standards not happy at all I would rate 0 stars if I could.

Went for our second visit to the Wernley and was not disappointed. Used to use Amber tavern down the road but for food quality this is far superior. Love the place back next week.

Food and drinks no problem. But as a large family with a lot of children we probably won't be returning, was made to feel quite uncomfortable by staff who quite obviously don't have much patience with children playing and enjoying themselves. Will choose a more family friendly pub next time.

Went yesterday for dinner and drinks . We all enjoyed the food and it was reasonably priced . Drinks the same decent prices . Nice pub to sit in and also the staff were polite and friendly. Will be going again .

My wife’s steak was supposed to be medium rare but was over done and the skillet it came out on was barley warm and my giant gyros was completely burned and stuck to the skillet on top of this my wife’s drink should have been a spritz and ended up with a large rose’ and my Guinness was the worst I’ve had didn’t even keep its head we have eaten here many times but probably the last time

Have been here a few times and really like the food, well cooked, tasty and a decent price. Had the steak and it was spot on, cooked exactly as asked - will be eating there again. staff doing the tables were friendly too, nice and helpful.

Great service as usual top family friendly pub

My mom and her 5 friends (and our family) have used the Wernley on multiple occasions and found the service, food and atmosphere to be very pleasant, however a couple of days ago my mom and her friends had a very different experience. When booking, they had requested a particular table that they had used before and when they arrived the staff were reluctant to allow the use of this table even though it was not reserved for anyone else. The meal and drinks were served in good time but when 3 coffees were ordered, they had to chase the order 30 minutes later. It was one of the girls birthdays and with the cake they asked for 6 serviettes and the following comment was made by the staff was, "Do you know how much they cost us?" And not in a joking way! This experience means that these 6 customers feel like they do not wish to return to this pub and have booked an alternative venue for the next birthday. Would not recommend!

Lovely meal and very reasonably priced.

Changes to menu have happened since our last visit. Taken off my favourite (Caribbean chicken skewers) and replaced by Tandoori chicken skewers which was disappointing for me. They are nice but not as nice as the Caribbean ones. Seems a better choice of vegan/vegetarian. But its still a lovely restaurant/pub. The food is always well cooked, piping hot and well presented. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Toilets are spotless. Car parking free. Easily accessible for those with mobility problems.

Julie greeted us with a huge welcome and ensured we were served efficiently. Absolutely love calling here when I'm in the area ❤

Really good experience tonight, good hosts and food was great. Good night enjoyed by all of us. Desserts were amazing well done to the kitchen staff on what was clearly a busy night. Will definitely return, well deserving of 5 stars.

I was looking forward to a cheeseburger and chips so I thought I would try this place. The burger was tasteless and cheap, topped with fake American cheese served with a very small portion of fries which were equally as tasteless. All in all about £2 worth of food for £10, it was dire. I'd have been better off going to McDonald's

Visited here recently and the food tasted amazing. Food came out quickly considering it was busy and tasted amazing. We will definitely be back again soon.

Considering the manager had a month's notice there should have been extra staff at the bar for a funeral drink , 20 mins to get a pint , shocking. Usual customer's were disgusted 😒

Manager was rude because we complained about the coliflower bits 😒 steak was tough.

We had a table booked for 5.30, had ordered at the bar by 5.50, was told about 30 minute wait, which was fine. The food arrived 7pm, I know I asked for steak to be well done but not cremated, onions were under steak & burnt onto plate. Staff were rushed of their feet.

Food and service was very good as usual. But I didn't enjoy the atmosphere. A foul mouthed customer stood at the bar for most of our meal was unpleasant. I don't like my grandchildren having to listen to bad language in a public place.

The food was very nice always have a good meal their The place desperately needs to be refurbished and new lighting it is very dark in there with alot of tables with no light on them at all.

We tend to go with our friends from an exercise group to celebrate birthdays. We're always happy with the food and service, especially when they're dealing with a big group.

Good night at the wernley with good service, but the food wasn't the best. I had the mega mixed grill or whatever its called the onion rings were cold, the rest of the meal was hot though. But for some reason, it just didn't look appealing don't get me wrong, the food was OK it just looked as if it was plonked on the plate. The location was warm and clean and the staff were very nice. Would I go again ? Yes, I would, but it's wouldn't be my first choice.

Located directly off the main A449 Wolverhampton Road, this is a gem of a pub. Both a family pub and a modern bar rolled into one. The site has huge parking areas at the front and back which makes a visit easy. Additionally, there is plenty of free on road parking space. The pub looks really nice and has that traditional pub vibe both in the architecture and the internal layout. There is a lot of outdoor seating with umbrellas during the summer. Inside there is a traditional long bar which is always manned by knowledgeable and accommodating staff. The prices are fair and the staff well trained to get you served quickly but yet politely. The pub has both a family orientation and a modern pub feel which is great. Sometimes you just want to take the family for a meal and sometimes you want to go watch a match with the lads. The pub has many large screen TVs to the front so all the sports are shown. I find the management to be particularly keen on customer satisfaction and that a major plus. You feel safe knowing they are eager to keep the pub a safe family place. The food especially nice here and I so I do often grab a bite during the day.

Standard pub food. I had the lasagne which was very dry. My friends meals were much better. Staff were friendly and welcoming Lots of people in the pub and majority were eating. Having not been here in many years it was good to see it was so popular

The pub was nice and clean and had a friendly atmosphere. The manager on shift seemed nice. One of the floor workers with blonde hair was very loud which was slightly disturbing when eating but she was friendly when serving food. Food was sent out quickly however the pub was not busy, and the food was tasty! I had a pudding (desert shop chocolate waffle), which tasted nice but the waffle itself just was not warm enough and the buttons etc hadn't been slightly melted. Other than those minor details my experience overall was a good one!

Really good food and really nice staff, the gammon was really tasty. Suzie did a good job of looking after us. Will come back again definitely.

This place is hundescheiße..... It is not often that one stumbles upon somewhere that is so dire, seemingly on purpose, almost like a saboteur is running the place. The Good Lady and I, finding ourselves rather peckish, decided to swerve into here for some dinner. A decision we were to regret. A proper tradesmen's pub, which, in and of itself is not a problem. However, pissed up brickies in each and every corner of the venue and outside is not what one wants, when it's not even 1830hrs. Interestingly they all seemed to drive home as well. Having bought me and the missus a drink, outside we went. It was then that I noticed that I had been charged twice. Back to the bar I went but was told to come back tomorrow if it doesn't resolve itself. Two days on and it still hasn't. The missus ordered dirty fries to accompany her lasagna. Well, when they arrived you've never seen such an apologetic bowl (more like an egg cup) of chips. I would be surprised if there were more than 15 - £2.99 they were expensive. And they came about ten minutes before our main. I played it safe with a mixed grill, I actually rather enjoyed it. Whereas the missus was 50/50 on her main. Because of the debacle with the dirty fries she was promised a free dessert. Taking the opportunity to readdress the double charge for the drinks to the bar I went. Thereupon something odd happened and I became invisible. Because nobody behind the bar managed to see me, despite me trying to request the desert and my refund. I walked out after a couple of minutes of this. Total and utter piece take. Rubbish. Don't waste your time here.

Staff could be bit more welcoming especially with kids. Kids will run about so maybe look at dedicated area instead of shouting at them.

I live fairly local and to be honest we hardly go out but when we do we come here for a meal!! It’s always a relaxed atmosphere, I struggle with crowds and a lot of pubs try and cram as much seating as they can which can make it feel too much. The wernley has such a laid back open feeling, the meals are brilliant priced and every single time we have gone it’s always cooked perfectly!! Chef and kitchen staff are brilliant!! Everyone behind the bar is brilliant and funny! One of my favourite places. I have never left without a smile on my face and a happy full belly! 😊

Popped in the Wernley on 7/8/23 for lunch with my daughter. Ordered the mixed grill and the food was cooked to perfection. Very unusual that everything is perfect on a mixed grill in my experience. Nice chilled atmosphere in the pub and the staff were helpful and pleasant. Well done Wernley. I will be returning

If your skin is any shade of brown don’t bother going to the quiz night, went in with family and people in there literally stopped and stared, like I stepped into the 1960s, quiz master was unwelcoming and borderline rude. We stuck around for a few minutes before making a sharp exit. First and last time in that place.

Nice place....staff are all okay. The bowling green is great with a club that goes back to 1935. Great atmosphere. I'll try the food next time I go...

Attended a birthday party the atmosphere was electric, serving staff brilliant, chatty made us very welcome, ample car parking, clean toilets, variety of ales spirits bar snacks, price's easy on the pocket, l would like to recommend this pub.

I chose 10 because the manager and staff are lovely people the food is always hot and done to how you like it doesn't take long to arrive staff are always friendly and polite and prices are great I've always ate at the wernley and will continue to do so very pleased .
