Went to an event Saturday evening rang a head advised I was vegeterian they said no problem. Didn't bother with starter staff were not helpful even when told I was vegeterian. Main course again had to explain I was a vegeterian the only one at the event.waitress eventually arrived with food I never even got asked did I like corn or mushrooms plate just plopped on table before I could speak waitress was gone ,I asked the waiter what it was he said he hadn't a clue. Dessert came pavlova no choice I had a cup of black tea left after the meal. The service was very poor and slow staff never even asked if people wanted soup or dessert they just plopped food down on the tables. Really shocked to read it's a four star hotel.

Was here last weekend for a Xmas dinner get together with friends. There was absolutely no atmosphere in the restaurant, just a couple of tables, no music, no craic from the staff, totally soulless. The food was just okay. I had a fish cake for starter with slices of chilli mixed through the salad. I hadn't noticed them and took a mouthful. Almost a jug of water later I was starting to recover. I had more fish for main and it was so dry I needed to put gravy on top to make it more palatable. The trio of desserts was nice especially the lemon one. I had expected much better from the hotel, especially since the quality of other restaurants in Belfast has become so good in recent years. Charging almost £30 for this set Xmas menu is ridiculous.

My husband and I stayed at the hotel and were quite pleasantly surprised at just how good the food was at Wellies. After a long travel day we simply didn't have energy to go far - so dinner was enjoyed here. Breakfast was very substantial. Dinner menu had a very good variety to choose from. And like most places we visited, the staff were most friendly!

Went here with my brother using gourmet society's BOGOF deal. The food we received was just ok (edible, but lacking in favour) and level of service exceeded the quality of food. A pint of lager was served warm but our server was happy enough to replace it. It was fine for the money we spent, but probably won't be back (particularly to pay full price).

Poor food. Dry. Evening spoilt by not being allowed to wait in the hotel for a taxi. Thought it was a hotel. Attacked by a man outside. I'm a single woman. This seemed unfair.

My husband booked us in for 6pm for an evening meal. We are arrived at 5.40pm and it was very busy due to a wedding occurring . We had to search for someone to let them know we had arrived . They tried to seat us amongst the wedding quests but i refused saying it was way to noisy and we preferred somewhere near the back which would be quieter. The waiter allowed us to pick a table but said he would have to check whether we could in fact remain there. 6pm and he hadn't returned so hubby went to the bar to order us drink. He made it known that we were indeed still waiting for a menu . He was told someone would be with us asap . A while later a man sat down with a menu, a waiter appeared and took his drink order and whilst bringing it to him took his food order and walked off. I called him and said it we had been sitting there for 40 minutes and could we have some service. I was starving and beginning to feel unwell. He brought us a menu and service began at long last! The menu was limited but i must say the food was amazing, i got king prawns in a chilli and lime marinade with dipping breads and a steak baguette with delicious chips for main. The desert was a raspberry and white chocolate cake also delicious. I would certainly return and put this down to a one off bad experience .

i booked a table for ten people for my sons graduation and due to a medical condition asked for a table near a window with maximum natural light and was assured by the polite girl taking my booking that this was no problem. the welllie bar and grill offered the added bonus of free parking for anyone using their graduation menu and facilities. when we arrived however our table was underneath bright spotlights in a recess with no window and beside three other noisy tables, the remainder of the large airy dining room with windows was empty. we place our orders which the server insisted on taking individually around the table, ie starter main and dessert for each person at the beginning of the evening. the soup had a strange metallic taste which everyone agreed on, i dont think it was made from any meat but perhaps some vegetable stock cube, the pork fillet my sister and mother had was removed from the bill because it was undercooked and red in the middle, the sea bass was fine the steaks were good the kids meals were ok but you cant go wrong with chicken coujons and chips, the tandoori chicken and rice was not a large enough meal, the desserts were very good, but not good enough to redeem the wellie bar and grill i am afraid. not somewhere we would be rushing back too,

I recently took my dad out for his 70th Birthday. Looking to find a restaurant that was kid friendly on a Saturday evening was quite difficult but the Wellie Bar and Grill was fine about it. Service was quick and the staff were friendly. The food was very good quality and was exactly how it was described. Cost per person including drinks was around £20 including starters. Would definitely return!!!!

It's been a long time since we went to the Wellie Bar & Grill. They do a good soup and sandwich, among other dishes for lunch. The surrounds were really nice, the food was good.

We have just had our staff Christmas function at the Wellington Park Hotel. The staff were very attentive and welcoming. The food was excellent, especially considering how many covers would have been served that day throughout the hotel. We all then had some wild craic at the disco. A personal thank you should also go to the Conference and Banqueting Co-Ordinator, Clare Smyth, who sought to accommodate us at every turn. She is a credit to the hotel.

Stayed at the hotel and decided to give the restaurant a go on the Saturday night after a long and busy day sightseeing; so glad we did, it was a lovely meal, beautifully cooked and beautifully presented. We decided to repeat it on the next evening, this time seated in the lounge area; nice and informal, again, food first class. Superb experience.

Food was excellent and staff friendly. Only downfall was waiting time on food coming. Yes I have heard they cook fresh but 40 mins for chicken in a whiskey sauce and some chips. If it hadn't been for that then it would have been a 5

The New Year's Eve Party was very enjoyable. All the usual regulars were there plus inevitably lots of fresh faces but it never got so packed you'd struggle to get served at the bar. I'm in my 50s and always enjoy the friendly atmosphere amongst the regular community in the Welly of a Saturday night.

We ate in this restaurant in the Hilton before going to a concert in the Waterfront Hall next door. We were there around 5.30 and were the only people in at that time. Some background music but little atmosphere. The food was tasty - we had starters and main courses - goats cheese and prawn cocktail and a cheeseburger and chicken. Service was slow for a pre theatre menu. We had to ask for the dessert to be rushed to be in time for the concert. All in all it was satisfactory but not an inviting experience.

I was critical of the The Chester for its many young barmen who had no customer service. I was therefore pleased to see an older bar person in charge, who was so hard working actually obsessive cleaning. However this was short lived as this person / woman was not friendly actually everything she was asked for was a chore, surely her job I went tonight because I had really bad news and was trying to lift myself. Instead I was depressed by sour puss and unacceptable service. Sorry but do you not know the reason why people go out is to lift themselves.? We left and went to the always excellent Lansdowne.. Chester please learn make people need to be felt good and invited. My advice get rid of the OCD cleaner and invest in someone who is a professional person engaged in making the experience a pleasant nite out. Won't be back until staff changed Will

When will Costa ever get it right? Cafe Latte is NOT FLAT WHITE!! Flat White is a small non frothy double expresso coffee with just double the amount of milk to coffee. If I wanted a mainly milk coffee I would ask for a Latte or a Cappuccino.

This place has gone to the dogs. They also reduced the quantity/size of goujons. Goujon meal tonight was over £10 which is insane. Staff still nice. Management decisions.

Got turned away with a real government issue passport, that is a photo of me, and showed my banking app and card to PROVE the person on the id was me. Absolutely horrid service, got shouted at by a man pushing 50, I believe he was the manager. Said I had a big nose, insanely rude to everyone else. Paranoid little guy.
