I met friends for a Triumph bike night, good night, the merest whinge being they were a bit light on staff, so service was initially slow at the bar. Still friendly, and dog friendly as well.

Food Absolutely disgusting infact inedible my husband had the mega Carvery and when we got to the corner of the dirty pub we're you get your food we had a choice of old dry turkey, just the fat left on the gammon or dry beef, all served by children that have clearly never had to carve meat before the wedge of beef was like eating shoe leather, carrots, broccoli and cauliflower was hard frozen veg, mash was like wall paper paste. The only thing he ate was the yorkshire pudding. My son wanted an ice cream but of course the ice cream machine wasn't working, they apparently also now don't do the chocolate fudge cake as its "too hard to get hold of" we wondered why there was literally no one else in should have realised at this point and turned round. Don't waste your time guys go to Fairways at Birley instead.

Very hot inside, but service was very good

Attended a 60th birthday party here, had pie and peas, which were lovely. Good venue for a party!

Called in yesterday for a drink whilst having a walk,bar steff where very slow (to busy talking).drink where very expensive, nearly £9 for 2drinks, haven't been in for a long time and won't be going back. Unless you've won the lottery keep away

Good pub food, however, when I phone for a takeout order I keep getting the message *Cannot accept call from your location* which is odd considering I'm about a 10 or 15 minutes walk away.

Great function room with plenty of space. Staff are very accommodating and helpful.

Great food, with fantastic home made chips. Phenomenal children’s meals at 1.50 with great portion sizes for even a hungry child. Great outdoor area that is well maintained.

Great reception from Alex and the team who put real effort in to welcome our group of 200 Coventry fans on our way to Hillsborough. Great homemade meat and potato pie too. Lovely

Had a carvery here yesterday and been on the toilet all night. The food was served luke warm, room temperature (not sure if they are aware that the law states all hot food must be served over 63 Deg c to stop bacteria forming) and had the turkey that looked very old and dry. Served by staff that looked like they didn't want to be there.

Exceptionally good value Sunday carvery. £9.99 for 2 small. Small means 2 slices of meat ( 3 choices) and mash and then put your own veg , toasties, stuffing and Yorkshire puddings. Pub is friendly and bigger inside. If you're looking for a trendy modern interior pub ,the Waverley is not for you. If the quality of food and hand pulled beer is for you. It's good. Dogs allowed too.

Sound if you want a pint but if you plan on eating here I’d recommend a packet of crisps. Had better meals in hmp lindholme.

Called for a couple of drinks fantastic big pub ,but seriously needs sorting out. We sat outside my grandson had the carvery which looked like it had been cooked last week. He was adamant he was having it as he loves his Sunday lunch ,me and my husband didn't eat it..his mum said he was up last night with stomach ache which is not like him ..he had the turkey and I'm sure it was that ...such a shame it could be great if it had a shake up

The Sunday carvery isn't all that dry beef fatty gammon and the turkey looked like it needed putting in the bin! The lady serving the carvery was very miserable I won't be coming here for a dinner again. Although they do have strongbow dark fruit on tap and plenty of activities for kids.

Good family pub. Good prices, friendly staff. Very spacious and has a huge field and a playground for the kids in the back. Lots of TVs inside to watch the game!

Not been here since I was about 8-9, great memories then as a kid and as soon as I walked through the doors today it was like a great time loop... very friendly landlord, great kids area and loads of space for the kids to explore.

First time here for a party, it's a lovely pub it also serves food, the buffet too the party was done my them ,even a vegan buffet the food was lovely , the staff was very nice an friendly , As the party was in the evening didn't realy go outside until I left, but had out door area with swing an climbing frame with slide , a large carpark ,i will defiantly be going back again when weather gets warmer .

Had a good night celebrating a 70th Birthday. Buffet and disco very good. The young man behind the bar was so helpful a credit to the Waverly.

Went for wedding vows renewal had a brilliant night, great band really made night, lovely place for get togethers really spacious, staff are brilliant good service would recommend, even if ats a special occasion or jst for a drink.

Jam night was great, til a 'lady' started being very annoying. Management were informed but, to my knowledge, did nothing. A pity, because it's a great venue.

Was a little disappointed that we couldn't have any food staff were really polite though

Went on Sunday had a carvery what can I say I had turkey it was over cooked, dry, everything apart from the meat and roast potatoes were frozen and like mush I'd say they need a new cook or a new warm them upper person save your cash and pay that little extra for a great meal

After eating many a beautiful sunday lunch at the Waverley I decided to book our family in for xmas dinner what a MISTAKE. Cost almost £200.00 to have dinner 2 hours late vegetables arrive 20 minutes before the rest of our meal and there was no gravy. .We never got our desserts and was charged for a person who had not attended due to illness and not just the deposit but charged for the whole meal we watched as people walked out after waiting for ages in disgust. There was only 3 members of staff of whom I felt really sorry for as they were run ragged when we complained all we got was well we can't help it. I am totally disgusted with not only the meal and the service but the fact that there was no apologies to anyone or any sort of compensatory benefits for the total disarray to what should have been a beautiful xmas dinner

He say 2 meals for 12.00on Sunday but charger s 6.90 when I was fathers day said fathers go free until u get there then say only with 4 adults &kids with u that's y it is so low I will not b going they're any more he avrtise on radio station at Rotherham fm but prices r not right food is not that good when u have2 wait for potato before u can have your dinner

Some members of staff impersonated the hell out of conscientious hard working souls, others, not so! But the pub's fine ,Don't ask for a cup of tea 🙊

Go here on a Thur for our bike meet, but some of the group aren't happy about the ever changing prices of drinks, short measures and poor quality Guinness?

Food was good great value for money

What a nightmare, just been for Sunday lunch and it was like sitting in a crèche. There was a ‘ Do” in the main bar and the parents allowed their kids to run riot in the side where people were having lunch. No one seemed to care, they were obviously having a lovely peaceful time, shame we weren’t!! Lunch is of a good standard, as long as you don’t mind being limited on how many potatoes you can have. They serve you your Yorkshire pud & stuffing which is usual in most carveries, At the Waverley you are only allowed one scoop of mash & now they are limiting your roast spuds as well, these are served to you, but be careful, if you help yourself to an extra spud you get a telling off!!! This is because of the amount of food wastage apparently, or so I was told. Although the place has had a lick of paint & new carpets, it could still do with a makeover & the toilets are pretty Grim, so make sure you go before you get there !!

Booked my Halloween wedding here for 2020 and up to yet Staff have been friendly and helpful. They even sorted out my Disco and Food and let us pay in monthly instalments and said we are welcome to dress up the room. Cant wait to attend the event

Great Carvery Sunday lunch. Lovely food and value for money. Large function room that has recently been refurbished and looks amazing, good venue for parties, family events etc with plenty of parking. Definitely worth a visit. Freehouse pub do come on folks, support your local Local!

Events are usally good, however the pub itself needs work. Could be really good has alot of potential.

Sunday carvery is lovely, they take credit and debit cards at the bar, it's usually fairly quiet except for the excellent car shows and events they have on their grounds. I also love the twopence waterfalls inside!

Went there for a car meet the pub itself looks shabby & run down, not one i'd use as a local if i lived around there.

Best place for live music on a Friday, Yvonne runs a lovely pub.
