There was a chunk of something in my tea - which was in the tea pot before pouring my tea out and also a chunk floated to the top of my cup of tea too! Then I found a couple of hairs in my quiche. Will not be going there again, left me with a very sickly stomach for a few days.

Been meaning to visit this place for a while finally went today for the fish and chips Friday, and we were not disappointed staff were excellent and friendly food was great this is a nice little establishment on one of the local industrial estates but don't let that put you off,it is located on the estate at harelaw

This was our 1st visit and won't be our last. The food was excellent the decor was nice service good. We will be recommending this to both friends and family.

This is a lovely little and very unique place. It kind of reminds me of my great Nana's house with the deco. The food was amazing, once we had got someone to take our order. We waited quite some time and then had to find someone. The staff are young and obviously just learning. Plus the boss was out! However when we did have interactions with staff they were lovely, funny and friendly. I absolutely would go back.

A lovely experience. The cafe is light and airey.. And Anna's Furnishings are easily accessible and really worth a visit. The menu choice was good and the food was fresh and tasty. Home made chips to die for! There is the option to have a smaller portion of the main meals, so if you want something, but not as hungry you are well catered for. The cheese scone was really good too. I will certainly be eating here again... The food and surroundings were spot on!

Bit disappointed with the Sunday lunch, (collection) quite a small portion, hard yorkshire pudding, 1 small slice of beef, mash potato was lumpy, I've been here on 2 previous occasions, and it has been excellent, not sure what happened today, I'll give it another try, as it might have been a one off

My table was dirty covered in crumbs our eggs were over cooked and portion size of breakfast was dissapointingl with what seemed to be one mushroom cut into quater for a portion

Visited here today with a couple friends, was charmed by the atmosphere but won over by the food!

Had one of your packed lunches today at an event with Natures Edge, I have an egg allergy and usually find I get a poor selection of food, not today it was a fantastic selection I would highly recommend you to everyone I'm planning on coming to the cafe now for lunch one day, we'll done guys

Hidden gem! Great little tea room. Everything about it was great. The staff were very nice and helpful with great services. The decor is very unique and different from all the rest. I believe this place would do better with some more advertising as it is tucked away from most other things. I live nearby and had never heard of the place before until I was recommended it. I would recommend to anyone!

Lovely café. Takeaway only at the minute. Had latte's, toastie and bacon and sausage roll and a scone. Lovely. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great place to stop off for refreshments while walking or cycling around Tanfield and the Causey Arch. Also toilets open. Able to eat outside on the railway platform. Will definitely be coming back. Another lovely local place to enjoy.

A dog friendly cafe with a great selection of freshly made food. Very reasonably priced, an excellent place for a pitstop while out walking. I'll definitely be making regular visits.

Received our cream tea order this afternoon - wow, absolutely fantastic. The food was beautiful and fresh, delicious and a really good selection of sweet and savoury items. The lady I spoke to when ordering was lovely, very friendly and helpful as was the lady who delivered it today. Great value for money @ £7.50 per head - will definitely order further from The Waiting Room and hopefully visit the cafe at some point. Thanks so much, it was a lovely afternoon treat 😊.

Great value for money, staff could not have done more for us. The homemade scones were a personal highlight. A pervious review staying this place is rubbish is extremely harsh. The prices of the food here and staff are nothing but great and lovely. You could go elsewhere and pay more that 5 times the price, and not enjoy it as much. We will be back very soon, for sure :-)

Good home made food friendly staff cheap prices for food and drink. Nothing is a problem if you want something in particular you can order it or phone in and ask. We have been a number if times and never been disappointed. The decor takes you back and the new range makes a difference to the heat in the room. Something for everyone.

Did our Buffet today 19/12/19 - Annfield Plain Community Centre. The food was fantastic the sponge cake was scrumptious, quiches quality. Highly recommend this place. 10/10 ☆☆☆☆☆ Billy. Many thanks.

Don’t know what I expected, but this is a transport cafe on an industrial estate. Food is rubbish and it’s cold inside. Stay away !!!!
