The Village Green in Haringey

Not a good experience one of the bar staff doesn't know the weights and measures act and wanted to charge me twice the price for a martini saying it was a double whereas vermouth should be charged as a 50ml single measure

We booked a table for two for Sunday dinner. When we arrived we were shown to our table and went to the bar to order as there was no table service, so we ordered our food and two drinks. When we looked at the bill we realised that we had been charged a service fee, I thought this was quite cheeky considering we ordered at the bar ourselves. I have no problem with paying service but please do not assume that you deserve it before we have even eaten. In all honesty it felt like we were being charged £10 for someone to put two plates on our table!!

Local pub, relaxed, nice outside space, great place to meet friends and a new and improved menu. If you haven’t visited for a while (formerly the John Baird) I recommend!

The staff were efficient and friendly, despite the kitchen being understaffed we were served a lovely roast for only £18.50. Proper pub, with proper pub grub.

Really enjoyable lunchtime visit where we enjoyed both drinks and food. The food was delicious however the service was a wee bit slow however it was very busy. Worth another visit though

I have been coming to the village green for years as they have a wide range of craft beers with reasonable prices served in a great environment.

Great space to hold an event with both indoor and outdoor private areas to chose from. We held our wedding anniversary party in the garden recently and all our guests had a wonderful time.

We arranged our wedding anniversary party for 12 people in their outside terrace area. Nothing was too difficult or complicated for the staff. Prices reasonable also for the location.

The staff at the village green are so welcoming and accommodating and nothing is too difficult for them. Thank you for a wonderful time.

The biggest attraction to this great venue off the main broadway pitch is the rear garden area. Best place to enjoy draft beer on a sunny day. We did not try the food, but will do so next time.

I held my 50th birthday party for 40 in the Green room and had a wonderful time. The room was laid out well, we were allowed in early to decorate, and we were allocated two tables in the beer garden right by the door so folk could mingle easily. The vegan, vegetarian and meat sliders from the menu were delicious, especially the vegan burgers (I don’t eat meat), and my guests wolfed them down. Top marks to David the chef for creating such a tasty menu and his bread baking skills. The chunky bread and mini burger buns were light and tasty. All of my guests praised the quality and variety of the food, several taking leftovers home with them. Paul the manager was very helpful during the planning process, despite being short-staffed and busy, and so was David. On the night Cameron and a young woman who’s name I didn’t catch were really helpful too. I left saying to Cameron I wanted to have my party all over again!

Very variable standard of beer in this palce; sometimes it is ok but no consistency. Food is ok but nothing to write anywhere never mind home about.

Great service throughout and lovely food. The Green Room was the perfect size and set up for our family event.

Manager communicated well beforehand and the staff were friendly and helpful on the day. Very positive experience.

We live locally in Muswell Hill and this is one of our favourite pubs. Great selection of beers and ales with a cosy outside area.

Have been for a couple of Sunday roasts here (as our local pub) over the past few weeks and this is easily one of the best roasts around. The pubs in Highgate took some beating, but there is finally no reason to venture any further afield. The service was on point, and friendly and the food was simply fantastic. The roast beef was cooked to perfection with a great selection of properly-cooked veg. I don't normally order roast chicken, but having tried it, the flavours were incredible (as was the pork belly I had a couple of weeks back - yes, we love a roast!) I couldn't recommend this pub highly enough for a great roast and glass of red now the winter is coming! Can't wait for our next visit!
