The Village Chippy in North Ayrshire

I have used this chippy in the past , it was never the best but has went downhill rapidly. I ordered a sausage supper , the sausages are half the size they used to be as are the chips , the chips are cut so thin that there are very few decent sized chips there , it was mostly small crispy bits. The batter was almost non existent , portion sizes tiny. They do wee supper Wednesdays 2 for £5 , I dread to think what size they portions are. Very disappointed.

Went here after a trip to the beach with my partner and 10 year old son. The place looked dirty, I should have left but my son was hungry so I ordered. Big mistake... huge. The 4 members of staff didn't look very hygienic and neither did the delivery driver who I seen. The battered sausage looked horrid inside, not like a normal sausage. It looked like pink cheap uncooked meat and the batter was very poor looking and thin. I gave my partner one of my sausages because the look of it was putting me off and when I got half way through the one I kept there was a large bit of rubbery plastic stuff inside it. Even thinking about it now makes me feel sick. How does that even happen? Absolutely disgusting. I was disgusted that my son had already ate his. If he hadn't it would have went in the bin with the rest of the food. Avoid this place. Go somewhere clean and avoid a sausage surprise. So glad I found the name of this place on my online banking so I could write this. Tramps and unhygienic food is not what we were looking for after a lovely day at the beach. How this place is still open I will never know. Wish I took a photo but I felt physically sick I just wanted to get rid of it. Do not eat here!

Disgracefull. Inside can only be likened to a poorly kept public toilet. Staff dont seem very hygenic. Horrible food. Staff cant even wrap a portion of chips. No hair nets or anything.

Nice clean modern chippy cooked fresh when ordered my fish was more batter than fish and chips had soapy tasting chips that could’ve done wi an extra minutes in the fryer pretty disappointed overall prep kitchen looked rather untidy and grubby staff were nice

What I like about this chippy is the fact that your order is cooked from fresh. The shop itself is very clean and modern displaying old pictures of the village. There is also a bench seat for your comfort while you wait. They prices are good which they also offer a "wee supper Wednesday" which gives you any 2 suppers for a £5 !!!
