Does what it says on the tin. Not too big a place like some, not to noisy and main meal and drink was good value for money. Nice old pictures and information of the town which was interesting to read

Nipped in for some dinner on a quiet mid week evening and the food was delicious and great value, the staff were friendly and helpful. My only criticism is maybe tidy the tables in between customers as a few sat messy. However I can not fault the food. It’s also always regularly busy.

Food in here is always good. I particularly like the steak which you can have done however you like.Great place for families or eating alone. Beautiful building & always a friendly face inside. Staff very friendly, nothing is too much trouble as it's on the high street it's extremely easy to access with buses nearby Specials on during the week

Had breakfast here two mornings running whilst on holiday. I had a vegan breakfast, not that I'm vegan. It was very enjoyable and plenty. The other breakfast I had was the Scottish breakfast. All good, came out nice and hot. No long wait for service.

Nice spoons cleaner than most food was nice

Great service and has outdoor space so not to warm when needed you can sit outside and order food and drink to the take though the app and wait time not bad usually drinks inside 10min and food inside 20min and so beer the smoking area if your a smoker so great place all round

Very busy for a Monday lunch! The drinks came out extremely quickly after ordering in the Wetherspoons app. Food was quick too. We ordered the bbq chicken melt which my son enjoyed, and the Beyond Burger with chips, and an extra onion rings and side of roasted vegetables. I should say I ordered an extra beyond Burger patty as the single patty is not nearly as thick as the ones I buy in the supermarket. Burger was tasty, chips were great too. Loved the onion rings and the side of veg was decent. I'm surprised the plate doesn't have some salad on it, as it seems to be pretty bare. Unlimited coffee was appreciated, and I also bought a pint of lime cordial and soda which is a bargain at 78p. :) This is a well supported pub in the centre of Saltcoats, always busy and the staff are great.

We had breakfast this morning which was fine. I noticed that the underside of both plates were cover in egg yoke and bean sauce. I bought it to the attention of a member of staff, her response was err that's not very pretty and walked away with the plates. No I'm sorry or I'll speak to the manager.

I was emptying the bins so ...not inside but staff so friendly

Went for large breakfast and tea was very good nice. hot plates very impressed and it’s not my first time there. consistent every time i highly recommend it . Il be back

Early arrival in Ardrossan for the ferry to Islay. Thank goodness for google maps saw weatherspoons salt cot opened at 8am , so diverted to here for a bit of breakfast. Service was great, nice and dry inside as weather wet outside. Food was delicious. Coffee tasted great. Prices reasonable. Thank goodness this was open at 8am😀

Used to luv this whetherspoons. 1 manager was great, J knew me understood me and was fine with my going there. Then 1 day he was not working and another 2 managers i had not seen were, i got accused by 1 member of staff V to have touched her bum. I never did the bar was packed and i had to force my way to the toilet from where i was sat. NOTHING SAID ON THE NIGHT Next i went in i got one pint and a manager comes up to me and says i was barred due to the supposed incident a few days before. This manager asked me to come back on my next visit(which as i am english and own a holiday home was a few months) but i did go in, only to be told by the staff the girl who accused me was the only one to allow me back in! so i walked out. The mangers had moved pubs and as of this it was down to someone who stated i touched her in a busy bar to allow me back in, thats just wrong, by any standard even blinkered ceo mentality.. How many people in a really busy bar can pass someone with out accidentally touching someone. Its impossible unless your intangible! As i said this bar had 1 good manager and i liked it but my experience has tainted my enjoyment of this bar

Friendly staff and quick table service even though it was busy. Food average, but for the price you can't complain.

Went for lunch, place looked very run down on the outside, it was a busy lunchtime, & tables weren't cleared. Food not great steak & kidney pudding was dry & hard & chips looked like they'd been cooked to an inch of their life.

Warm and friendly atmosphere. I've given it 4 stars, because it can get really, really hot inside. That's perhaps a personal issue though. Loos on the same floor. Major plus. The food is always great as is the service. Staff are very helpful! There's a community feel to the place and it's frequented by people of all ages.

Food is very good for what you pay. Excellent presentation. Staff are very helpful. But bar staff needs training to pour pints sometimes we get 34 of a pint most days .really should be training for the bar staff. We have been drinking in the salt cot for years we have always complained for years but still no change. After approximately 10 years. 3/4 pints and no flakes

One of the few Wetherspoons pubs where the toilets are on the same level as the bar.

Visited for curry day. Meals were excellent and generous portions. Restaurant was busy but we didn't wait long for service

Always quick and friendly service when visiting here. Good for any kind of meal or for drinks. Like most Whetherspoons the food can be a hit or a miss but it is good 9/10 times. Staff seem hardworking and are always friendly and helpful. Child friendly too even when visiting 6/7pm on weekends. Can't fault the place, typical Whetherspoons with decent people working hard.

Fantastic Pub with absolutely great staff. Food served quickly and cooked to a good standard. Tables reasonably spaced apart so can move. Tables cleaned quickly after people leaving. Also very cheap being Weatherspoons, twice the food for less than a McDonalds.

The problem with this place is everything is variable, depends on what day and what time you turn up as to whether your food is going to be reasonable or checkable! It is about time these places, were brought up to 30 year old standards where everyone was taught how to do it properly!!!

I got the macaroni it was all stuck together definitely heated up in microwave. Plus I had won a voucher worth £20 I had to stand at the bar for 15 minutes before they could accept it as they said about people printing it of so they had to phone a couple of people before they accepted it.

I have being coming here for years with my family for lunch/dinner and always enjoy a great meal. The service is quick. I would recommend the salad, it's as fresh as a daisy! The only downside is the mess of the tables at times. Staff need to be quicker at cleaning away plates and glasses for the next people sitting down. Nobody wants to go for a meal and sit for 10/15 mins with a table full of dishes. Worth a visit when in sunny Saltcoats!

We visited on a Saturday afternoon. Very busy, however friendly and found a table. Used the app, didn't have to wait an age for food. This was good, prices are Amazing!! A great little find.

I like the food here, especially the breakfast. Only thing is the toilets are a bit dirty, and they need a clean.

Run down, and over due for deep clean and new carpets. Seating overdue for reupholstery . Service was the worst of any wetherspoon's I have ever been in. It's a clean your own table kind of place. Was a Sunday so perhaps no manager on site to oversee the ques at the bar, only one staff serving. Its a shame Saltcoats has went the way of this wetherspoon's.

The breakfast is by far the best thing in here, most of the staff seem to walk past dirty tables and leave them for hours on end which is just an eyesore. The breakfast is good value and tasty! The other food I’ve tried many times and seems okay but by this point the place looks a mess!

Fairly gross. In most aspects. Drink was disgusting, floors sticky, atmosphere was sketchy. Only had one drink and moved on.

Wetherspoon always has good prices and the prices here are below average. Food is reasonable and the service is good. I have noticed recently that the cask ale is below par probably because the beer pipes are not cleaned as often as they should. The place is child friendly and there is good parking behind the premises. It is not wheelchair friendly as there are steps at both back and front entrances.

Fish chips full of oil fried in oil too hot ,chip no bad. Double burger and chips very pish poor, gammon very disappointed and they couldn't even do a large mixed pish poor

You know what you are getting when you eat at any Weatherspoons,but the Saltcoat is one of the better ones,the food is always quickly served even when it is busy,the drinks prices are also unbeatable.

Place was jumping,good atmosphere, staff funny, polite and friendly.looked like there was only one lady serving meals to the whole pub.tabkes were filthy.banister sticky.toilets,well never seen a mess like it. Chips were horrible and after a vusit to that toilet was put off.shame if they had more staff it be a great place.never going back.🤮

The place is a tip, tables always filthy and dishes lying everywhere. Always alf a menu as they don't have the correct amount of food ordered. Always short of staff. Seemingly they want to expand into the car park. Need to sort out issues inside first. Customer service, there is none. It's obvious all staff over worked.

This restaurant is fantastic for breakfast normally at that time in the morning it’s clean and tidy (ish) come the afternoon or dinner and everything is everywhere and just a mess! The food other than the breakfast 9/10 times isn’t right or over or under cooked I personally just come for the odd breakfast. The staff on my opinion are rather lazy (walking past tables that badly need cleared and cleaned down numerous times) such a shame as it’s in the heart of Saltcoats town.

Took an hour to get served and then, having bought a gourmet steak, there was no mushrooms or onion rings!

Its cheap its cheerful you can chat to your mates and the food isnt the worst. Its not haute cuisine but its good enough and portions are decent so no complaints.
