The Tullie Inn in West Dunbartonshire

We had a fantastic experience at Tullie Inn! We went for the Full English Breakfast, and it was absolutely delicious—cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The portion size was just right, and the quality of ingredients really stood out. The service was excellent—friendly, efficient, and welcoming. The ambience was lovely, creating a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal. Another plus is the ample parking space, making it super convenient. Overall, a great place for a delicious meal with a great atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Booked in for Mother’s Day and receive a confirmation to say it had been booked, but when we arrived (16:10) we were told we made the booking at 11:00 and their system stops updating at 10:45. Had to sit at a pub table. Ordered a Diet Coke and was given a full sugar coke that spiked my blood glucose. Food was nice but service wasn’t great and was a bit manic (although it was Mother’s Day).

Really lovely stay at The Tullie Inn. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. We were given an upgrade by Mary which we were delighted with. The room was comfortable, clean and has everything you need to enjoy your stay.

Had such a lovely overnight stay at the Tullie. Breakfast was absolutely outstanding and staff were so helpful when needed would definitely be back!

Attentive and personable staff which made our stay friendly and a positive experience. Room was comfortable, spacious yet cozy. Breakfast is simple but satisfying. Located in the centre of Balloch opposite the train station.

Stopped in for lunch and the food and service were excellent. We had the sausage and mash, tandoori chicken flatbread and the fish ciabatta which were all delicious and the staff were extremely friendly. Highly recommend!

Food was okay but certainly not "award winning"

Visited here last Sunday and were very happy with the staff and the service, when my meal of Sunday roast arrived I was very Disappointed, the vegetables were all dried and over cooked, the meat was hard to eat and the gravy was setting on top of the meat, it all looked like it had been in the microwave too long and was sitting on the pass for a while , I didn't return it as I knew I would get another one the just the same ! I won't be eating in the Tullie again .

Stayed at Tullie Inn a few times, staff always helpful and friendly. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Location brilliant. Cannot fault anything, will be back again. Would like to add that Chris, Danny,Kiera and Mary are the most attentive pleasant and sometimes funny ( Chris)😆staff I’ve came across. You should be proud they’re part of your team.

The breakfast was disgusting the room was fine, clean and tidy The amount of young underage drinkers in the bar and the outside area was bad and quite intimidating

A nice spot to have some lunch whilst visiting Balloch. Right next to the railway station so the location is great for Loch Lomond and the centre of Balloch. The battered fish ciabatta was delicious and filling. If you're after amazing customer service though then you'd need to look elsewhere. The bar and table service staff were pretty miserable which let the experience down.

Full Scottish breakfast £8.50 - whaaaaat,?!?!? Incredible value. Coffee was great. Asked for cappuccino made with oatmilk which they don't do but Chris suggested a black coffee with oatmilk served at the side. Chris made us and oor wee Jessie dog so welcome, brought her water and fussed her - 10 outta 10 Chris, exceptional service and super friendly. Food was braw AF too - great job from everyone, we'll be back

Just back from staying last night and can honestly say it was fantastic rooms where warm and tidy staff fantastic had a bit of banter with 1 of them about mac & cheese with mustard breakfast was out of this world would highly recommend it

I stopped at the Tullie Inn, in passing, whilst waiting to go on the Loch Lomond cruise, it was a cold day but the welcome at Tullie Inn was warm and welcoming. I returned after the cruise for light lunch and enjoyed a very tasty soup.

Hotel/pub ok for short stay, rooms very clean. Unfortunately our first room was super noisy air con units right outside bedroom window, manager was brilliant moved us without question. Great location to stay for Loch Lomond. Cruise company across the road to hotel.

We had a lovely meal at The Tullie Inn in Balloch. We had three courses and I had some birthday fizz. Debbie and Mary were great hosts and made a fuss of us. The atmosphere was warm and the service was first class. The mains were delicious and the dessert was scrumptious. Will be back soon.

Booked for what we 'assumed' was Christmas Lunch weeks ago and paid £40 deposit for said booking. NOW we are told the £40-odd per head was NOT for Christmas lunch on Christmas day, but for some other Christmas lunch. Now we have to pay £75 per head or cancel and lose our deposit which we have had to do, seeing that my 84 year old mom is paying. Just an awful attitude at this time of year that have left a family looking for space for a Christmas lunch. Will NOT set foot over your door again.

The Sunday roast was exceptional and loved the fact we could have unlimited trimmings (not that we managed any other than a little gravy, as the portions were very generous!). Kim and Ciara took care of us really well and had great banter. Definitely coming back!

Kim is amazing what a host!!! We went for a date night and Kim served us single handedly the whole meal as well as waiting on other tables! Super service

The bar manager was great. He gave us advice on the Mixr app + info on The general area. Nothing was to much trouble. He was very passionate about his job & we wish everywhere we visited had people like him. He made our stay all the better. Will definitely stay again. Five star.

Stayed here 2 nights can’t fault it.Room was fine no issues breakfast was served very quickly and was perfect.Staff well I have to say were amazing so friendly and helpful they looked after us very well.We had evening meal with friends and again food was delicious and not to expensive was so relaxing.We will definitely be back thanks to how friendly it was

Mi marido y el suyo tuvieron una gran estancia de una noche en el Tulli Inn con desayuno, cena y bebida de bienvenida. La comida era buena y David el barman me hizo un delicioso cóctel. La habitación era cómoda y tenía cafetera Nespresso con galletas. Buena selección en el desayuno y la cena era sabroso también. El personal era encantador, especialmente María que hizo todo lo posible para cuidar de nosotros. Mi marido dejó su jersey, Mary lo encontró y nos lo publicó.

Estábamos deseando una cena acogedora con buena comida, pero tristemente nos quedamos abrumados. Llegaron nuestros entrantes y en uno de los entrantes el cohete acompañante con un aceite de oliva y llovizna de trufa no era comestible debido a que las hojas parecían más hojas al vapor en una mancha verde. Aconsejamos a la anfitriona que habló con la dirección, volviendo a ofrecer postre gratis. No íbamos a estar comiendo postre esa noche y por lo que la oferta no sería adecuado para lo que la anfitriona preguntó lo que preferiríamos. Sugerimos que se elimine el iniciador afectado de la factura. Nuestras comidas del plato principal eran sabrosas, el bistec estaba perfectamente cocinado, pero algunas de las verduras en ambos platos principales eran un poco de cuero, sin embargo, se mejoraron al agregar un poco de salsa. Elegimos no hacer un comentario sobre esto y en su lugar nos centramos en disfrutar de nuestra noche juntos. Al recibir el proyecto de ley nos decepcionó que no se hubiera hecho ninguna deducción. Esta fue nuestra segunda estancia en el Tullie y una vez más no nos decepcionó. Gran bienvenida, personal amable, habitación espaciosa limpia y excelente comida. En una gran ubicación con un montón de bares y restaurantes cerca. Ideal para explorar Loch Lomond y alrededores.

Had a coffee here waiting for a taxi. Lovely interior and brilliant beer garden. Cappuccino was good!

I stayed here for 5 nights and enjoyed my stay. Polite staff waiting on tables and a quick service to add. The rooms are clean and stocked with all you need for a relaxing stay. The manager was also extremely helpful and anything I needed was taken care of swiftly. Thankyou to everyone at the tullie inn. 5^

Whilst passing through Balloch, our party of 7 (and a dog) stopped by for some lunch. The woman working the bar was sour faced and had a serious attitude problem. Short in her responses and inconvenienced by any request. The majority of the group went for the Steak sandwich, which unfortunately was chewy and full of fat and gristle. The sausage and mash was very nice however, so compliments there. The younger man working the bar was very attentive, and brought a bowl of biscuits for our dog. Nice décor but it's a shame about the atmosphere caused by the sour faced cow at the bar.

Had the steak and venison pie, wife had the chicken and pancetta one , both delicious would definitely have again and recommend without hesitation , hopefully we'll be back up this way in the future for a repeat

Nice hotel, unfortunately in need of some renovation. Great service, very tasty food in the restaurant and very tasty and rich breakfast. The rooms were clean and well equipped.

Booked for a family get together. Food was lovely freshly made to order and everyone's meal all came out at the same time. Food extremely tasty. Lovely atmosphere. The only downside was service was a bit slow. But didn't put us off. The staff were very friendly. Really good value for money. Would highly recommend this place. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for somewhere for a nice atmospheric meal. Noted that dogs were also welcome in the bar area.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Tullie Inn in Balloch was one of the worst hotel stays I have experienced. Outside the room's window, the kitchen's ventilation system roared, making it possible to both sleep and open the window. When we pointed this out to the man who checked us in, we were treated very dismissively and our request to change to another room was completely ignored. Terrible treatment, completely substandard hotel standard.

Nice dinner, breakfast, and 1-night stay on a quick trip to Loch Lomond. FYI: no elevators (that I was aware of) so will need to bring luggage up one flight of stairs. Tub/shower is a little high to step over - not an issue for us, but just a heads up. We arrived a bit later than expected due to flight delays but they were still able to accommodate us for dinner, which was delicious. Breakfast was also good - ordered off the menu and it arrived pretty quickly. Cute little spot, right across the street from the Sweeney cruises and next to a train station.

After a boat trip on Loch Lommond, you can warm up with a perfect cappuccino and delicious green tea Highly recommend the small cakes

Review for restautrant only. Service was good. Nice setting, food was delicious, but serving sizes way too small. For the price we paid, it's not great value. This is a pub, not fine dining, you expect slightly bigger portions. Other than that, it was nice.

Super restaurant. Nous y sommes retourné le lendemain. Avons été surpris par la carte : de nombreux plats préparés avec soins, dans le style rétro chic (pithiviers, souris d'agneau, etc..). Service très agréable et carte des vins plutôt variée. Belle surprise !! Bravo

Very nice friendly hotel. Rooms are comfortable but some things need updating. The bath panel in our room was flaking paint and didn’t look very nice. Also no soft close toilet seats so lots of noise if people don’t realise. Great live music on Friday and Saturday. The breakfasts are very good too and the staff are friendly and helpful, lovely room cleaners too. We enjoyed our stay. The location is beautiful. A big shout out for Mary who always looks after us.

A nice guesthouse with a large room, a huge bathroom, everything is well maintained and, as is typical for Scotland, very friendly and courteous people. Very close to Loch Lomond. Good food, not overpriced. Well-stocked bar and a cozy beer garden. We'll be back again at any time!

Great pub, some of the staff are excellent and others not so much! For the location the price of beer is acceptable (although pricey). The food is over priced and my Sunday lunch (roast pork) was a lack lustre effort to say the least. No crackling, no condiments that you would use for a Sunday dinner, extremely salty bought in gravy, raw parsnips and my broccoli wasn’t tender stem as advertised! I don’t normally put bad reviews on, but unfortunately this takes the biscuit. I’ll try another Sunday for lunch at some point if the future and hopefully you’ll have at least made some changes and more effort. Regards Danny

Food and service were ok but not great. One of our main meals wasn’t cooked properly and the service was pretty slow. Management offered us a free dessert for the problem which was nice. It was ok but we didn’t return as there are so many other places to go to.

We came here for a quick bite to eat. The inn is super cute and nicely decorated, it’s situated close to the water. Unfortunately not much nice can be said about the older lady that seated and served us. She was quite cold and unfriendly and listed about 8 items that weren’t available to choose from on the menu. After sitting down we realised we didn’t have enough time for a proper meal before our boat ride (about 25 mins) so chose something to drink and asked for the bill. The older lady started to explain that we should’ve sat at the bar if we only wanted a drink. I apologised and explained about the boat ride to which she didn’t say a word and just brought the bill a card machine. My partner asked if he could leave a tip, she rolled her eyes at us and said ‘No. only cash tips’ and then walked away. We heard her laughing and chatting to other customers, so not quite sure why we got the cold shoulder 🤷🏻‍♀️

Arrived for dinner after ringing there reservations line, to be told ooo no you don't need to book just turn up! So 6 of us turn up, we where told we had to book and all the 8 tables that where empty where booked out. Sat outside in the cold. The heating didn't work. Ordered our food, arrived and went cold before we could get half why through. Walked in the pub the 8 tables that where empty when we arrived still had no-one sat at them at no point didn't the manager came and say to us, please come inside as these tables are free. No-one has turned up. Will never go back.

I like the Tullie. I do. The beer garden is nice. They’ve got Loch Lomond brewery on tap. There’s some good here. HOWEVER, a word of warning my dear reader. The tortellini is £15.50 and I received 6 tortellinis which I personally feel is a high pound to tortellini ratio

Never stayed in the hotel, but went there for food, and what I got looked like it was sitting in a reduced section in a supermarket for a week before being microwaved and served. It cost around 20 quid for a gammon steak and I didn't get the extras I've ordered (but did pay for them). Stay away.

After a bad experience, now a great experience. The food was super tasty, the lamb and the grilled steak are really recommended. The children were happy too. Unfortunately we didn't stay in the hotel. But we were happy to do the 15 minute walk to eat such delicious food. The staff was also super friendly. Update after feedback/comment from owner Sorry for the misunderstanding. The bad experience was NOT with you!! We tried a day before a different restaurant and had the worse experience there. At your place it was always perfect. Much Love❤️

Never stayed here but went for breakfast and dinner. We had to ask for breakfast second day as we were let down buy another location and Mary was said sure no problem take a seat. She is lovely host and food is perfect. Definitely recommend this place for food

A quinoa salad without quinoa, even if you make a complaint and insist we bring you a small bowl for 2. There is room for lunch in the end there is none except at the bar. Bad experience

We did not stay in the accommodation part, we only tested the restaurant. The atmosphere is warm, the staff very friendly and the food of very good quality. We went back twice and really liked it. Their breakfast is also accessible to non-residents, it is delicious!

The meals were brought out and one was completely wrong - roast beef rather than lamb shank. My wife had triple roast dinner. None of our vegetables and "roast" potatoes were fully cooked and the Yorkshire puddings were very poor. We left a large portion. The lamb was actually very good. The blonde haired lady was very apologetic and didn't charge us for 1 meal. Here for a week but won't be back

The blonde with glasses was extremely rude when we walked in. It was as if she didn’t want us eating there. She stated if we are in a hurry then we shouldn’t eat there , because she had two tables. We should have known then to walk out. When she came by and asked if we needed anything we said ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise. She returned with just the mustard and ketchup, so I asked again for the mayonnaise and she rolled her eyes at me and said anything else before I walk away. Food was good, I did tell our tour guide never to bring anyone of his clients
