The Tuckin in Bedford

Really disappointed not gunna lie! 5 little pieces of chicken! Whole tin container of rice no gravy! And was bland!!! Best thing was coleslaw!! Go and try brown eagle in Tottenham and take some tips! Won't be getting food from there again 😔 waste of money honestly! Yet to find a good Caribbean restaurant in Bedford 😤

First time we have been to you last night and food was delicious. More than generous portion sizes. Was ready when we got there. Really friendly person who served us. Will be back next week. We loved it. Thank you

I took takeaway home and the smell was to die for before I even opened the food. The food was really tasty and moreish. the owner lady was lovely and very down to earth and friendly. Very authentic home cooked style. Would recommend

This is the worst Westindian food I’ve ever had and I’m not even exaggerating. The Jerk chicken was wet and covered in oil, the salt fish fritters were like a weird dough consistency. Very very odd. The food all round was terrible. Anyone who is writing a good review on here either doesn’t know good food, is not westindian, or they are friends of the owner. The food got thrown in the bin, it was inedible. Never again. If you want good westindian food in Bedford go to Jemz or Carumbar. Also what a rip off!

Food was nice but the lady at the counter wasn't friendly or welcoming at all. She also charged me £1.50 more than the price written on their website. It's a shame when businesses let themselves down.

Popped in while waiting for tyre change food was out of this world and the wonderful Lady was super friendly

Amazing food! Curry goat, rice and peas with coleslaw and it was so good! The lady working there was so friendly too we ended up having a good old chat with her which was nice 😂😂😂😂

Great, filling food and warm owner! I had the typical jerk chicken and plantain. It's a very nice and proud restaurant that truly shines the Carribbean culture through and through!

Try it, you won't be disappointed. Yes, it is not the most appealing front in Tavistock Street, but you come here for the food and for the price. Forget about KFC, get jerk chicken for less, or even fried chicken. Great size, great taste, great price. I always had takeaway, they use aluminium trays and the food stays hot.

It was 5 mins before they closed and I couldn't get on with the online order form so I rang them instead. The lady was polite and happy to send me a delivery. Food was lovely. Thank you will order again

We have just moved from London to Bedford in recent weeks and we were looking for a Caribbean restaurant to give us a taste of something we are used to rather than the run of the mill takeaway meal. We stumbled upon the Tuckin and thought we would give it a whirl......going along to pick up the order I was immediately put off by the lacklustre shop front but was happy to let the food speak for itself....it didn't and suffice to say, thank God for Marks and Spencer 24 hour service as a taste of the food from the above restaurant made us both wretch as the smell was beyond anything we could image, we threw the lot into the bin and put the bin outside the house so as to clear the kitchen of the smell. Public service announcement I cannot recommend this place at all, and we will not be returning any time in the near future

Got the curry goat, jerk chicken and fried chicken. There was no flavor on any of the meat, the jerk chicken tasted of soya sauce. The food tasted as if no seasoning went on it at all. Very disappointed after driving from London to Hitchin and then here to eat something, a big waste of money my family threw the food away and went to Macdonalds.

The food here is absolutely delicious. Portion sizes are more than generous too. Would have been 5 stars but disappointed when I made another order on-line today and waiting 10 minutes while it processed without success. Tried ringing to confirm my order but no reply. Drove down to the shop to find a note saying they were closed until 26th August. Their website stated they were open and nothing on the website to say they were closed. No answerphone message to say this either. Very disappointed as the food is definitely worth going back for.

Went in late Sunday afternoon and ordered a jerk chicken patty and a beef patty with saltfish fritters. It was made fresh and tasted great. Will definitely be going back again 👍🏽

I'd say the best place to eat in Bedford if you want good food and honesty. If your sick get yourself the chicken soup....will help alot with cold etc.. A very nice place.

Good food. Loves the curry GOAT that came out as curried chicken- loved the food none the less. My friend also asked for plantain. He received none. So sorry for the low ratings, I want to give higher. But we need better custom from you guys.

Lovely Jamaica restaurant. With beautiful food to match. There local park only 1 minute walk from the restaurant. Best to come in to get your food or order to collect.

Best Jamaican food I've tried. I've tried other Jamaican Cuisines in Luton & Bedford and they don't serve food like the Tuck inn. Most of the time I eat in, but occasionally, I order a takeaway. Yes, they can be slow at times, but I have eaten here more than 20 times since 2012 and I have NOT been able to fault their food. They deserve more credit.

Do not order with them from Just Eat, they will just cancel your order; obviously business is that good.

Had to wait nearly 3 hours for food. Then they decided to ignore the phone.

The food is nice. Delivery takes ages. But it's never open. Like they decide whenever they feel they want to open. It's 3pm meant to be open 12 to 11pm.. Isit open?. No!
