DuduBar Restaurant and Lounge Bedford in Bedford

Great atmosphere. Serving staff are understaffed and should be clearing empty plates and bottles. We had to prompt the server to do this prior to serving more food and drinks. Decent price points.

It was cool I went in the day time but I can see they have a nice setup for the night time.

Maybe the main menu is nice but I made a mistake of ordering the buffet which was a terrible mistake First of all is the price: £30 for a small selection of dishes. 2 rice, one yam, samosas and about 4 dishes where the only nice thing was the chicken. The gizzard was too hard to eat and the tripe smelt. For £30 you can goto a lot buffets where the food is extensive, for example look at Jimmy spices which is cheaper. This buffet shouldn’t have been more than £15 max. The restaurant crew were nice though and the atmosphere is relaxed but felt the main room was dark, maybe it’s buzzing at night time.

The food had no exceptional taste from Nigeria.. very disappointed with the amount of money spent. I cook better and I am not nigerian. Waste of my money...

I was so disappointed with the okra soup. Okra soup is one of my favourite and I was really out after ordering from here. It was my first time ordering it from so maybe it was one off I don’t know but hmm

I tried emailing to book ( no reply ) , I tried phoning to book ( no answer ) and finally booked by paying a £20 deposit online. On arrival they didn’t seem aware I’d booked. However, the restaurant was empty and we were seated at a table without any cutlery. Customer service wasn’t very customer friendly. No menus were offfered and on enquiring we were made aware you needed to order via the app. This was our first experience of Nigerian food and we asked a few question but felt we were ordering things we had no idea of. The server did take our order verbally. The food didn’t arrive altogether and two of our group had nearly finished before the rest of the food arrived. The food however was delicious and everyone was pleased with their order. The live music was also very entertaining. On paying they didn’t seem to be aware I’d paid a £20 deposit and had to phone a manager to confirm this. The server didn’t seem to know you had to pay a deposit when booking online. We’d recommend the food but after our overall experience we would not return to this restaurant. I really think the experience could have been a lot better.

Having eaten from virtually every takeaway in Bedford over the last 50 years, I thought I would try just one portion of peppered beef (£12) from Dudubar as a trial. When I went to collect it, the portion was so small, I could hardly believe there was anything in the bag! You would have thought the beef would be absolutely perfect for that amount of money/quantity but it was 40% inedible gristle! Sorry, it's a first and last visit for me!

There are kind staff here. Lovely and clean environment. Good and very tasty food 😋.

Best place to eat Niaja food.The goat meat and fried yum my favourite.i highly recommend.

I was excited to visit the restaurant for the first time but left disappointed. I was in a party of 3. Good points: -food is decent although the suya is chewy - music is great - food price is reasonable Bad points - parking is awful - staff not welcoming and appear disorganised, visibly frustrated and unsupervised - understaffed - unreasonably long wait times for food to be served - table arrangements should be better organised to cater to appropriate party sizes - poor customer experience

Lately Dudu bar have been dicing beef into smaller pieces to maximise profits which isn’t fair when you order beef worth £5.

The customer service is honestly terrible. Short staffing, the same staff is taking order at the till, while also cleaning tables and also servicing food. Delay in food preparation.staff must be stressed because she was having an attitude been the only one doing everything. We didn’t even get our food in time and left with just drinks only. Please get more staff so services can be distributed evenly. I have eaten here before and the food is decent but before you get your food, you will wait until next year.

I really wanted to like this place but am left disappointed. I spent 46£ and my pounded yam was missing. I tried to contact the restaurant but the phone number listed belonged to an Indian restaurant. This is terrible customer service !

We’ve been here a few times and have never been disappointed by the high standard quality food, it’s always fresh tasting and well seasoned without being salty. Highly recommend the efo riro, egusi soup and seafood Okro if you want to treat yourself that bit extra!

I held my birthday event here at Dudubar Bedford this weekend gone. Where do I start…. Leading up to the event I spoke to both the manager (Melissa) and owner who helped me to figure out how I can celebrate it, staff, menu and drinks that I would like my guests to have. They were both so helpful and full of ideas which made it easy and relaxed. Once this was sorted I felt reassured I could trust everything was in their hands and I wasn’t wrong. Everything went according to clockwork and smoothly. On the day, I was able to have access to decorate the venue which is lush anyway but just to give it the added sparkle. My guests were made to feel very welcome and said the staff were warm and approachable. The food was very well presented, hot and tasty as usual. I have personally eaten here on a number of occasions and the quality is consistently outstanding and excellent. Dudubar had even arranged a surprise guitarist to play ‘Happy Birthday’ which my guests joined in to sing along to. It was so perfect that I wish I could replay the night over and over again. I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to Dudubar Bedford for helping to make my birthday so special!

Ordered egusi, ewagonyi and jollof. The egusi was good but the jollof and ewa were terrible. The service was very slow as well.

Was hopeful of finding something a bit different here but have to say the food was awful. Ordered Jollof Rice and Chicken. Large plate of food arrived, 80% of this was rice and tasted like Uncle Ben's packet rice, some coleslaw and a chicken drumstick. The chicken was disgusting. It was tough, tasted like it was several days old and the meat itself was grey. We ate a few spoonfulls and left. Avoid!!

Food has declined in quality I had rice and ayamase and it didn’t taste very good I only order in when im really tired to cook and for the price paid there was no beef seemed like a cop out I think I’ll be leaving nigerian food in bedford as a whole as it just isn’t good

Lovely place to wine and dine and have a good dance. Staff are very knowledgeable and pleasant. Highly recommended and will definitely be visiting again 👍🏿

Ive not yet eaten at this branch but so happy I no longer have to travel to Luton to get traditional and authentic Nigerian cuisine. Im sure the food will be to excellent standard
