Always great food here. Basic but well prepared. Nice atmosphere plus couple of awesome fish tanks. Plenty of variety on the menu

Favourite pub in the area fires are back , staff very good freindly . The food plentiful and tasty just love it. Favourite things are skewers and cheescake

We booked here for a family meal for a 18th birthday party. We were greeted with a pub full of drunken people stumbling about at 5.30 pm. The language was disgusting! Outside the front door you had a couple grouping each other! A member of our group walked into the toilets with her granddaughter and a woman was sat on the toilet with door wide open. The waitress that served us was rude and bad tempered. We won’t be going to this venue again. It’s described as family friendly but I can assure you this wasn’t the case.

Sunday Lunch. Service. Excellent attentive, polite nothing was to much trouble Food. Lovely food hot, tasty and plenty, more veg/gravy if you wanted it. Would recommend and will return

Christmas lunch was amazing… food was delicious and plentiful and staff were friendly and attentive. We were able to enjoy drinks by the cosy fire too which was a lovely bonus and added to the Christmassy atmosphere. Well worth every penny .. £78 for 3 courses on Christmas Day at this standard is fantastic. The service here always gets us returning so thanks to you all!

Food was fabulous with big portions! Always a choice of meats and help yourself vegetables. Friendly staff and prices average for the area. Free parking.

Surprised to find two lovely vegan options here: Cauliflower curry rice and hand cut chips or nut roast, hand cut chips, peas and gravy. Unfortunately, not dog friendly though.

I visited this restaurant on 15th April with friends, and have often visited there on previous occasions. My wife asked for the fillet of sea bass which was served on a portion of mashed potato. As she does not like mash, she asked for a portion of chips instead. To our surprise, the waiter informed her that he was not allowed to swap! How ridiculous is that? I had the battered cod and chips which was tasty. However, the size of the fish portion covered by a thick batter was very small. To be fair, this is a ploy used by several eateries of late. It makes the meal appear large. After all, the cost is in the fish and not the batter. The other noticeable difference compared with previous visits was the number of chips they served with the meal. The portion was noticeably small so I counted them. Fourteen in total! Although my meal was tasty, I did not leave the restaurant fully satisfied as on previouse ocasions.

The entire family had a very enjoyable Sunday roast today. The meats were all melt in the mouth delicious, and plenty of it. A lovely mixture of well-cooked vegetables complemented the meal. Between us, we enjoyed chocolate gateau, Lemon merengue, jaffa cake, and cream, for dessert. The staff was helpful, pleasant, and efficient. We`ll definitely be visiting The Travellers Rest in the very near future and will be recommending it to other family members and friends as an excellent place to eat out.

Visited the Travellers today, has a lovely meal with great service. Amazing food, good portions and staff were really friendly. Will definitely be returning soon.

Visited here this evening a group of 10 girls, as soon as you go in you are made to feel welcome. The food is first class made to perfection, the staff go above and beyond, was served by Meryl and Lucy. They were both lovely and nothing was too much trouble, so polite and friendly couldn't wish for nicer people. Everything was great, prices are good plenty of choice. Will be back soon thankyou.

£10.95 for a basic turkey dinner with no stuffing, no cranberry sauce and one roast potato on my plate. Sorry but you need to do a lot better than that for £10.95 !!! 😳

Visited this evening. Staff were friendly and welcoming. A lovely pub, full of character and pleasant surroundings. Food was lovely, good portion sizes and beautifully cooked. Would definitely recommend for a lovely meal.

Such a lovely atmosphere in this place for a start, the food was just utterly exceptional! Their homemade chips are to die for and if you want dessert go for the lemon cheesecake! Would happily recommend to anyone, worth its value!

Visited today for Sunday dinner with family and it was absolutely delicious. Have had about 6 dinners here this year and they are always beautiful. This is the closest to a home cooked dinner I have ever had. They always have 5/6 choices for Desserts and they are lovely too. Thanks to all involved for the smooth running of lunches as no sooner your meat arrives, veg is there and extra gravy follows seconds later, you don’t need to ask for anything.

We booked the Travellers Rest for our Wedding Reception held in June this year. Although it is just inside the Caravan Park it is not part of it and is run independently. The staff were so helpful in the planning of the event and gave us a lot of constructive advice. The food was top class and enjoyed by all the guests. The room was decorated by some of the family the night before and the staff even provided extras for us and so a most enjoyable experience. Also we have had Sunday lunch there previously with the family which again was delightful. Highly recommended.

Have had a few meals here and can't fault them , everyone has been delicious. The location is fab and staff are lovely.

I stayed on Pen-Y-Fan caravan and leisure park when in Wales for my sons wedding. At the entrance to the park is the Travellers Rest. After setting up the van , finding i had no electric and looking at the rest of the site i was not sure whether or not to give it a try as the site itself was very untidy and looked unloved. I decided to give it a go. On entering it was like another world !!!. Everything was spotless and well set out. Nice greeting from the staff who made me feel at home. A few days later i decided to have a meal there as the menu looked good. Very quick service and what fantastic value, everything was spot on. So good in fact i took the family there later in the week and they were amazed. The pub is really worth a visit. Great job team !!!.

Visited for Mothers Day and really impressed. Proper home cooked Sunday lunch and lovely home made desserts. Highly recommended

Even though we have lived less than two miles from here for twelve years, we had never visited this place. We (two adults, OAP and five year old) went for Sunday lunch. The service was excellent and there was plenty of parking. There was a veggie option. Both the soup and pâté was very tasty for the starter course. The quality of meat (we had beef and turkey) was very good with a decent portion (kids portions were good too). There was a good choice of deserts and drinks available at the bar. We all agreed that it was much better than our usual haunts where we pay almost twice as much. We will be going back.

Went here on the spur of the moment, the restaurant was was very quiet, but then it was after 3pm. Food prices were good, 2 16 oz steaks, 1 veg lasagne, 2 pints (lager/cider) and a pint of squash, 3 desserts - £58. Good portion sizes and all meals were very good, steak cooked perfectly. Don't understand chips with lasagne, but the chips were nice nonetheless.

Went for Sunday lunch with the family , outstanding service and the 3 Meat roast is the best I’ve had , we were lucky walking in at 12.30 to get a table , lots of people turned away as very busy , not surprised as great food and service

Came here with friends whilst staying at the campsite. The onion rings were the best I've ever had and the steaks and ribs went down well with everyone. The staff were very welcoming and we all thought it was great value. Its nothing fancy, just good comfort food.

We went here for a family party and had a 3 course "Sunday" lunch, even though it wasn't on a Sunday! The food was excellent and plentiful and staff were very helpful. Prices are very reasonable.

We came here last night (17/11/16) had a fantastic meal for my partner's birthday. My parents have been here before and have always had a great time. As it was both my partner and I first time here we did not really know the location that well - the only critique I have is the outside lighting was not on making us rely on Car lights to ensure we were at the right place. We were served by Meryl who gave us a warm welcome and a personalised service. The portion sizes are extremely generous. We all had the T-Bone steak which was on the specials board. Great tasting steak, cooked perfectly with generous servings of sides. As a pub/restaurant manager I found myself taking mental notes of what I could take back to my business. The service was A Class. Thank you for a fab night!!

Had Sunday lunch here for 5 of us, served very quickly & when the food arrived it was piping hot. The people serving us were very polite and nothing was too much bother. Great value for money

We took my mother-in law here for meal for her birthday we had a lovely meal chicken curry was really lovely and the staff are so friendly and welcoming.. we live local so will definitely be returning quite often over the winter months

Me and my 3 children visited to celebrate a birthday. Nice food, no loud music which is nice. No issues with bringing our own cake, waitress brought it out as arranged with candles lit. Will be visiting again 😀

1st ever visit for sunday lunch , was greeted by member of staff who showed us to our table.12 persons in total ..all sat on one long table !!!!! very busy indeed service was ok albeit somewhat slow probably due to the number of people there.Choice of meats which were well cooked & very tasty.Veg overdone & single roast potato ( small ) extra gravy available if required & boiled new potatoes.

Amazing atmosphere great home made cooked grub! Ideal for family's with children as there's a park and lots of grass to play around whilst the adults can enjoy a drink in the beer garden

We was very impressed with our Sunday lunch all very tasty I had lamb my partner beef and my son pork we all ate everything meat was tender and the gravy was very nice.. I like Sunday lunch served in terrines with gravy boat as they do here I found the service was very speedy, all of our lunch arriving shortly after we put the order in,, waitresses very professional,, we will 100% return again

My wife had gone abroad for a holiday and I don't like flying so instead of cooking for myself. I called into this place looking for something to eat for my lunch, it's a little off the beaten track but well worth the detour.I had a lovely welcome from the staff and ordered the beef dinner, which also included a dessert from the specials board. I was impressed with the décor in the restaurant, it is very nicely kept and the owners must be very proud of its appearance. My meal was beautifully cooked and good value. I noticed that they cater for children which is nice to see. Plenty of seating outside if the weather permits, ideal for a trip into the countryside
