Great place with absolutely top locals and staff. Plenty of screens for the sports etc and a pool table with plenty of space around it. Fingers crossed I'll return.

EASILY!..best 1st visit to ANYWHERE!.. I've ever experienced in my life.. Locals spoke to me like I was one of them, asked me to karaoke duets! (I was there alone) best pint of Tennents, and the the barman could not have been helpful! So..even tho I was only in Ayr for one day, I'm now making a point of going to watch Scotland play 2nd game in Euros tonight. Barman found me BETTER& CHEAPER accommodation too..(half the price!) Can not say how great it was.

Such lovely personal service. I was alone. But was made to feel exceptionally welcome. Enjoy your drink guys x

An okay bar/pub busiest on weekends.

Nice pub sadly on visited due to funeral but if down Ayr again would go back drink is cheap staff friendly

The owner is super friendly and very good people. He invited us to coffee and chatted with us. A recommendable place if you are in the area

My wife and I were on holiday and decided to give this place a try and we were not disappointed a lovely place cheap drinks and very friendly and helpful staff highly recommend it

Good pub, large bar and a comfy lounge bar, good selection of beer and spirits at reasonable prices

Poor beer selection on draught Meals seem quite expensive

Great pub.. Nice staff very clean good food.. Will return more over cheaper than Ayr race course who rip people of with their inflated prices. Drink in The Thistle short taxi ride from course recommend it.

Just had a 5 star meal from the thistle and there new chef and I could not recommend it more absolutely brilliant.

It's a traditional pub. Its on the way into Ayr, if you're needing a pint or two.

Just pop in for a few drinks with hubby. Staff are always friendly and nice surroundings. Drink is reasonably priced.

It gets very noisy so if you want to have a quite drink 🍻 then it's NOT the place for you. When there's a football ⚽ game on they stream it live if it's Rangers or Celtic mostly those teams, so I would avoid the pub on a football ⚽ night

Good frendly pub & out side bit you can sit & have your beer in the sun

This is not the place you see on the websites it's not very inviting at all I would not recommend to anyone especially if they have heart problems because the shock would kill them. There was no one there to meet you. You have to phone for assistance when you arrive the room you get has no heating the bathroom is very small know room to swing a cat the so called hot water is cold the pillows feel like they been left over from battle of culloden there is know meals as there is know place to prepare them .when you leave in the morning there is know one there and after staying there iam not surprised .the most depressing place I have ever stayed in spoiled a great holiday
