Eva and Mackenzie were very friendly and helpful waitresses, the food tasted great and the service was excellent, will be visiting here more frequently!

The cafe is quite delightful and not only well decorated but has lovely gifts to purchase. The service was friendly and very helpful. I enjoyed the coffee and there was plenty baking to buy.

Went in for a lunch.Cafe lovely,staff superb,had soup and sandwich,soup superb,sandwich outstanding,lovely thick slices of bread,with a large and delicious ham filling.Good value for money(have paid more for less).Highly recommend it.

Great cafe, the staff were friendly and very accommodating, they got out boxes of toys for the children and had a good selection on the menu for children and adults. Good coffee and hot chocolate, simple toasties for the children which were wolfed down and excellent soup and toasties for the grown ups. Prices were reasonable, would definitely recommend this cafe if you're out and about in Montrose.

Had a lovely home made scone and hot chocolate. Small cafe but great service and seemed very popular with plenty customers.Lovely gifts on sale too ,perfect place for a lunch or just a snack.

Visited for a spot of lunch. Nice variety on menu and plenty of taste homemade dishes and cakes on offer.

Mackenzie and Eva were absolute gods and served me with a slice of chocolate cake and a nice coffee, great stuff my g👍🏿👍🏿

The cafe has recently introduced a play area for children and a couple of days a week designated especially for this. Although it doesn't interfere with serving coffee in this small cafe, it does change the atmosphere. I'm not against children playing but I would prefer to go there on days when I can enjoy a quiet coffee and cake. Is this a cafe or a children's play area?

We wanted a late lunch after we'd been round Montrose and stopped at the Thistle. The two ladies in charge were helpful and provided us with beautiful food in a very pleasant environment. The portions of soup and sandwiches were very generous and the soup was piping hot. Although it didn't affect us there was loads of advice on allergens and other useful dietary information which, I guess, would be of great value to some customer. This was an excellent find and we'd certainly return.

Regularly pop in for a reliably good vegetarian soup, one of the few places in town that offer a regular veggie option daily. Staff are friendly and helpful. Today's Mexican sweet potato with tortillas was 👌😋

Found this wee gem on a Sunday drive. Lovely coffee and a delightful piece of carrot cake. Hope i am able to return soon.

If you're looking for a tasty and great value lunch this place is for you. "Mini" soup and sandwiches is a really good deal and more than filling for most appetites. Lovely real crusty bread too.

We called into this cafe for a coffee and cake when visiting Montrose recently. We had a lovely welcome and were served very promptly. The Cappuchinos were really good and we all enjoyed our choice of cakes too, There are many gifts displayed round the shop for sale but the prices seemd a little steep. Nevertheless we will return to this place for coffee in the near future.

We popped in for lunch while in Montrose. My wife & I ordered lattes & a hot dog each.

Visited the Thistle Cafe this week for lunch. Cafe is under new ownership. Lots of interesting local crafts around the cafe which add to the ambience. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food good quality and reasonably priced- would recommend this for coffee or lunch
