Rang up and ordered a takeaway and was told at the end of my order that they had run out of prawn crackers😳 Collected my order at the allotted time and drove home, approximately 5mins. I opened the bag and the food had leaked all over. The packaging has changed to cardboard boxes which don’t seal. I plated the food up and it looked very different to the usual dishes and the portions were much smaller than usual. I started to eat and the food was cold. I tried to ring the restaurant but it was engaged. I decided to microwave the food and started eating. The red thai curry didn’t taste like it normally does and it consisted of 8 pieces of chicken, 3 small pieces of red pepper, 1 slice of mushroom and copious amounts of bamboo shoots, they made up 90% of the dish. I also had a chicken pad thai which was a much smaller portion and tasted very bitter. The food was average to say the least and nowhere near the normal standard and quality I have grown to love from this restaurant. I ate a few mouthfuls and left the rest. The reason I order a takeaway is because I want a good quality meal cooked by a professional chef who has mastered their craft to make my meal the best tasting it can be using the freshest ingredients available and in return make me want to return again and again, unfortunately this was no better than your average packet mix meal. Very Very disappointed. It seems like the restaurant is trying to cut costs with the new packaging, the bamboo shoot fillers and the much smaller portions. It’s resulting loosing me as a customer as I will no longer be ordering from the Siam Orchid again.

Absolutely beautiful food. We booked as a late Mother's Day Evening meal as this is one of my favourite restaurants. Every single dish was so tasty. My dish - Pad King with coconut rice was just absolutely delicious and the rest of our table of 5 really enjoyed their meals - albeit the only slight grumble was that the Thai BBQ chicken really could have done with a little veg or salad accompaniment. Then I asked Jansee if I could possibly have my favourite desert, (deserts were off whilst a new chef was being trained) - Tapioca in coconut milk. She was most obliging and made us it to special order - this by the way is quite possibly my most favourite pudding/desert in the world!! We all left more than happy. Bellies full (but not horribly bloated) and taste buds zinging with beautiful food. Thank you so very much for the gorgeous food and the personal touch of an off the menu request was the icing on the cake!!! Wish I could give you 10 stars!!!!

Spent last Saturday evening in Louth & had seen this place when dining at Helal opposite, so decided to give it a whirl. Not a huge restaurant (which is nice) & was fairly full but they managed to squeeze us in even though it was late -ish. Had the Thai prawn crackers, mixed starter & corn fritters to begin followed by the Penang Curry, Special Fried Rice & King Prawn Noodles. Have to say all was really good & did not feel at all bloated but felt we’d eaten very well. Place is run by a lovely Thai lady who told us she’d been there for around 5 years. Staff also were great. Both food & wine priced reasonably given the high quality. Shall definitely return in the very near future.

I've never had such a bland tasteless Thia dish and I've eaten in numerous Thai restaurants. Basically unflavored rice with prawns. Does the chef actually taste the food before it goes out? Rubbish.

We had eaten at Jansee's previous restaurant in Sandilands many times and had wonderful memories of the food and would talk about Tiger's Thai often. We have planned for a long long time (too long!) to visit her restaurant in Louth and we finally did. Sometimes you can build up the memory and expectation of a meal too much and end up disappointed but I am delighted to report that Jansee's cooking was even better than we remembered. The starter of thai fishcakes and chilli dipping sauce was so flavoursome and we had mains of king prawn thai red curry and king prawn panang curry. Both were so delicious and tasted really fresh. A wonderful meal and excellent value too.

Having found some Thai restaurants a disappointment in flavours and aromatics it's great to find a good one. First time here and we will definitely be back . We've been to Thailand quite a few times and usually are disappointed by the lack of flavour spice and aromatics with UK Thai restaurants . However the food here was fresh and 'homemade' with an authentic Thai taste. One of us is a veggie and he really enjoyed his too. The waitress was really helpful and efficient. Couldn't really fault it . We look forward to becoming regulars. Was too full to try the sweets but the sticky rice is definitely on my list .

My husband and I stayed for a week in Mablethorpe and visited this restaurant as we fancied some Thai food. The food was extremely tasty - very fresh and with a nice balance of spices. The portions were generous and prices very reasonable. The restaurant is obviously taking the Covid rules seriously and staff doing their best to ensure the safety of themselves and customers. I recommend visiting if you want some freshly made, well flavoured Thai food.

Having to forgo our regular visits to restaurants during the current lockdown, we sampled most of the takeaways offered in Louth.Without doubt this restaurant's takeaway is the BEST, ready on collection time and piping hot. Truly authentic Thai taste and just as good as we have had in the restaurant, not easy when put into containers and not knowing how long before it is eaten. We can't wait to go back to the restaurant but in the meantime, Siam Orchid Takeaway will be as good. Try it and see.

My first visit to this restaurant but it won't be my last. Immediately you meet the owner (John), you feel welcome, the atmosphere is totally relaxed. I love Thai food and the menu is a delight, the bonus is John knows about all the dishes and is happy to explain things to you if asked. The food is beyond description - delicious and authentic Thai. It is was a joy to sit and enjoy savouring the food, and the Chef (Janci?) John's wife, is a wonderful genuine lady who obviously is an accomplished cook. The food, ambiance, husband and wife combination and the atmosphere make this a superb restaurant and experience of Thai Cuisine. Had two starters, one on par with Iceland frozen food, no plates. Main meal sweet & sour chicken was terrible, meat the size of 5p pieces. Beef in ginger, same again, meat minuscule .. complained, but fell on deaf ears... Still can't believe how poor the food was... everything supposed to be cooked from fresh, but rice was sticky, clumpy, dry & hard, obviously pre-prepared and sat for a long time, probably warmed up in a microwave. Will NEVER visit again .. I've had better frozen meals from supermarkets!

We like Thai food but first time here. Pleasant atmosphere music pleasant but subdued. Staff very friendly and helpful. Saturday night - was just about full holds about 30-40 people. Had a mixed starter which was a good choice. 2 small BBQ ribs, Chicken on a stick, fishcake, sesame toast, spring roll with 3 dipping sauces.Main shared a red curry duck and a pork satay with egg fried rice.Dessert, coconut, ginger and strawberry ice cream with sauce. All very tasty and service no different to other places though it has been cooked to order. Portions are a sensible size and good value for what we paid. If you have a big appetite you can always order more. Nearby couple were being attended to, to cope with a suitable dish for a nut allergy. On first floor so you need to climb stairs and be careful as you leave as stairs close to door. Well located in centre of Louth

I've been visiting Siam Orchid since the early 1990s, though not often in recent years. Had very found memories of nights here with fabulous food, but this small restaurant seems to be struggling to serve this town. They seem to go to great effort to space out table arrivals and are reluctant to take on takeaway orders. We were lucky to get a takeaway (after quite a wait), but the food quality was sadly mediocre. The biggest surprise was to get chicken and cashew with NO CASHEWS !!!! Just chicken in a bland gravy. Thankfully the chilli dish was better.

Having visited Thailand I can say the food is authentically Thai and delicious, one of the best cuisines in the world and really showed off excellently at the Siam Orchid. The portion sizes are generous and squeezing in three courses is hard work. I’ve been four times in the last year and had 3 takeaways and couldn’t fault any of them. At the end of the meal, as it was a birthday celebration the staff presented a small cake with candles etc and sang happy birthday - a lovely touch. I enjoy Thai food. I eat it regularly. But the food served here is not Thai. It is like eating Oriental inspired stir fry dishes, and I'm using "Oriental" in a derogatory way. There was not enough flavor to discern the dishes that we ordered. I came here during the hot spell of 2017 when it was BLAZING hot and no one had fans in their house. I had to beg my mother-in-law to take me to Aldi so I could stand in the freezer section. We each ordered different things, but I swear they all tasted the same. Only my husband's tom yum soup was any good. My sister-in-law's ginger beef had only the mildest hint of ginger. My father-in-law's pineapple and pork dish was cooked with tinned pineapples. I visited here with my husband, and a couple of friends. The place is reasonably small (I am guessing that it will only sit about 40 people maximum), however this only adds positively to the ambiance of the place (and again reminded me of some of the restaurants that you get outside of the tourist areas throughout Asia.).The staff were very attentive, and efficient in what they did, and could not be faulted, with drinks delivered very quickly after being ordered. The food was excellent, and tasted very authentic, what I also really liked was the smells. My friend, who had been to Thailand said, that the smells and fragrances coming out of the kitchen, took him straight back to when he had being in Thailand on holiday. I had noodles, as a side dish, and they were very good, and surprisingly for this type of restaurant, the chips which my husband had, with his sweet and sour pork, were also very good.I look forward to returning here sometime in the future.

Since our favourite Cleethorpes Thai closed we have been trying other local restaurants and was excited to try this new one. It was an inauspicious start to the evening when struggling initially to find the tiny entrance we were greeted by a dirty menu covered by broken glass that lead up very steep, worn stairs to a small first floor restaurant. Seated in a window the view over the local church was lovely but somewhat blighted by the dirty dusty window sills. The drinks glasses looked scratched, worn and filled with flat coke. The prawn crackers were a paltry affair when they finally arrived few in number and darkened with old dirty cooking grease. My fears of a looming disastrous meal were not allayed by the lacklustre starter of fried corn cakes and minced pork on toast, the fragrant Thai herbs were absent and the dominant flavour that of only cooking fat with a shrivelled salad garnish. My husband did enjoy his spring rolls and felt they were satisfactory. The meal culminated in absolute failure over the main course, a prawn Thai red curry with little if any of the fragrant traditional Thai flavours. Four prawns with a tang of vinegar rested on a bed of curry over populated with lots of non traditional vegetables including broccoli and cauliflower to bulk the dish up. The pad thai noodles lacked a certain appeal, the green chicken curry a pale imitation of dishes at other restaurants. The best dish of the evening the plain rice which was nicely cook. All in all a very disappointing evening from a restaurant of which we had such high hopes. We will not be back and unfortunately could not recommend going there.

Starter well presented and a good set up for what's about to come.Great mixed seafood with fragrant curry, rice and a good variety of noodles.Polished off with tasty pancakes and homemade ice cream. Satisfied is an understatement. I've visited several times already and would return in a heartbeat!

We visited the Thai Silk on a quiet Thursday night. The waitress was charming and service quick as only one other table was occupied. Our starters (spring roll with pork and ribs) were good. Our main courses (pork and sweet & sour chicken, both with rice) were satisfactory but there was no 'wow' factor. We shared a pad Thai which was tasteless and boring. Our bill was £40, including three Singha beers, which represented good value. So, apart from the disappointing pad Thai, there was nothing actually wrong with our meal, it was just all rather bland. There are plenty of better restaurants in Louth and I doubt we'll return any time soon.

Unfortunately there is no competition now but the Thai Silk is a reliably high standard place to eat and rarely disappoints. We eat there 2 or 3 times a year and have been going there since it opened

myself and 3 friends ate at The Thai Silk on the 4th May, it wasn't very busy but that didn't bother us, we all had starters and mains and the food is some of the best Thai food I have tasted, the service was exceptional and we were well looked after the whole night.

I have just this evening (4 March) been for a meal at the Thai Silk at Louth. My personal choice to go for my birthday. We have had a wonderful experience - wonderful meal, as per usual; excellent service and extremely friendly welcoming staff; food simply amazing. We go to the Thai Silk as often as we possibly can - would go every week if it was possible. Love it. Thank you for a simply wonderful finish to my birthday day. Pamela (and Rob)

Every time we visit family in Lincolnshire a stop is always Thai Silk. Staff are accommodating and polite and the food is fantastic. A lot of people tend to forget that the owner brought all her culinary skills over from Thailand. Everything is cooked fresh and not "hot plated" so you're guaranteed fresh every time you order. Best items on the menu in my opinion is the Thai yellow chicken curry, BBQ chicken and anything with prawns. The other good thing about the food is the portion size. Good size for the money you pay. Thai beer is available and all the ladies who serve are in traditional Thai clothes. The decor is lovely, carpet is new and the wall decorations are different to how they were last season. The owner has made a lovely haven out of a old building. A little hidden gem with Thai Silk is the chefs who have dined there, Ainsley Harriet and Rick Stien and the Hairy Bikers have all eaten at Thai Silk.I would recommend that you try Thai Silk. It's family owned and run and the owners pride and joy. Good, tasty food, fast service and a amazing atmosphere. Highly recommended, couldn't disagree with the bad reviews enough.

Too expensive for so little, everyone was disappointed with how much they got, especially considering the main courses were about £7 each. I had squid, there were literally only 5 tiny pieces of squid and some vegetables in a dish with the sauce. Not worth £7. Dad had king prawn rice, 2 small prawns and a little bit of rice and that was £4. Everyone's mains were definitely not worth the money, as well as the starter platter was tiny. Only redeeming factor is that the chicken was nice, even if there was very little of it.

1st impressions count! What a terrible place. It is so dated I am surprised that it hasn't been closed down by health and safety. I am sure the ceiling tiles are no longer allowed in restaurants. The place is full of cheap tables with red table clothes. The lighting is so bright you feel like you are being interrogated. Everyone looked bored and uncomfortable and squashed in the place. We had actually booked a table, but were ignored when we got there. We were pushed past by a waitress and the other dealt with people wanting take aways. There is no way we were going to eat there. It is by far the worst place I have ever visited and I have never decided not to eat anywhere, but in fairness I feared I may have caught something. How anyone has given this 2 stars let alone more is beyond me.

This is one of the best thai restaurants I have been to in over a decade. The waitress was charming and can't do enough for you. The food is very, very tasty indeed! I had a lemongrass soup for starters, then the thai green curry and tapioca for dessert, all delicious. Well worth a visit!

We had a lovely meal this Wednesday evening. The restaurant was quiet but welcoming. We opted for the set meal (2 courses and tea/coffee for under £11) and thought each dish was delicious. I particularly liked the red curried chicken. We did have room for a pudding, and these were excellent too - banana fritter and pancake. The service was efficient and charming, and we were able to sit at the best table - with a view of Louth parish church spire!

The food was absolutely lovely which is what most people want from a restaurant. The entertainment was the traditionally dressed waitress who hasn't yet mastered the art of putting things on tables without threatening the safety of everything else on the table and everyone around it. Her pièce de résistance was allowing the hanging ceiling decoration to fall on her head as she took the food order. If "city slick" is what you want then avoid. If "old fashioned style with tastes to die for" floats your boat then head on down.

Myself and my fiance have been to this restuarant a few times for dinner and each time we have been very impressed. The restaurant over looks the church and is up some stairs so you have a good view of the street with out having people staring at you whilst you eat. The service has always been great, with the staff being very friendly and helpful. We have both tried different dishes and they, have all been good sized portions with subtle flavours, creating lovely, authentic thai dishes (speaking as someone who has visted Thailand numerous times). The atmosphere is relaxed and cosy. We have been there when it has been very busy, and when we have been one of two parties. Unlike othere restaurants we have visited it did not matter that there were not many people dining in (although people were ordering take-aways), the meal was still lovely and not awkward! Can't recommend it enough!

And there is no doubt this is one of the best Thai restaurants we have eaten in. Our group of marshals swelled to 12 this year but they dealt with us beautifully once again. Orders were taken cheerfully. Drinks and crackers appeared within minutes and our starters soon after. The food was flavoursome and the plates all hot to the touch. The restaurant was nicely busy so word is getting around. The total cost meant that everyone paid £22 and that included starter, main course,a couple of beers each and a reasonable tip. That cannot be bad for quality food.

My husband and I ended up eating at the Thai silk by chance on our anniversary. We had originally planned to go to to another restaurant but because we hadn't booked ahead they were unable to fit us in. But what a relief! We ended up having one of the best meals we have ever had eating out; it was flavoursome, atmospheric and the staff waiting on were friendly and polite. Unlike a lot of restaurants where staff make you feel as though they are doing you a favour by being there. I would definitely recommend this lovely little restaurant to anyone!

A busy night for a Wednesday which was a surprise. Service was a little slow at first but with there only being one waiter, we expected this. Once the starters were sent though, the food came through quickly.Delicious food at reasonable prices and felt full afterwards which you don't always get for long after Thai.

Went here on Saturday and it really was a great little place to eat. The decor is somewhat dated, but that just adds to it's charm. It's spotlessly clean and you are bombarded by scented candles is the toilet cubicles, so be careful! The food was delicious, fresh and authentic. I had the chilli chicken with cashews and it was spectacular. Nothing was too much trouble and we had all manner of extras, spices and sides. The staff are delightful and made it a lovely lovely evening. I would highly recommend.

I have been on numerous occasions to this fabulous place. My fiance (Rob)who introduced me to the Thai Silk at Louth has frequented there for many years and it has maintained its standards throughout. We nickname it our 'local' restaurant although we live 20+ minutes away. Recently I booked a table for 6 to celebrate Rob's special birthday. The staff had gone out of their way to make it so very special for us and had done me proud. Rob said it is the best time ever that he has had and that he had never felt so special. Our family guests were amazed by the staff, food and venue. Thank you sincerely and from the bottom of my heart for all that you did on Saturday the 24 August 2013. Not be long before we are over again! Pamela x

Went for a meal with a group of about 20 friends. They coped extremely well with the large number of orders. Very friendly service, didn't feel at all rushed. Me and my partner felt sauce was a little watery and bland but I'm sure this is down to personal preference. Price we also felt was a little high but overall we had a great night so can't really complain :)

Spotted from the car park and decided to stop for a coffee. There was some seating outside so perfect for anyone with dogs. It was a beautiful spring day so we also decided to have some cakes and a cheese scone. I have to say the cakes were fab and the cheese scone was the best I have ever had. Can’t wait to visit again. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately, the Dunes Complex is definitely not wheelchair friendly. There are disabled parking spaces in the car park. However, they were all taken, and some didn't have Blue Badges visible. Once in the Dunes Complex, there are 2 more ramps to consider, the 1st one is quite steep, and the 2nd one is less of a hassle. If a wheelchair user or someone who has mobility difficulties wanted to get to the stage, they would have to ask staff for a further ramp. To get onto the stage itself, well, there are narrow corridors that a wheelchair does not fit through, and there are no handles or any form of mobility aid.

We visited here for breakfast after a very busy morning packing up our tent to go home after a stay at a nearby campsite (extra points for being dog friendly!). All very hungry there were plenty of options to choose from and even the option to build your own breakfast which was great for my daughter who wouldn’t eat a full breakfast but would still like certain items! The staff were lovely, the service was quick and the food was delicious! Extra shoutout to the iced latte and the big buts breakfast. It was amazing! We will definitely be returning when we are back in Anderby. Thank you!
